"The subhead, 'Dub Drenched Soundscapes', says it all: this album brings together all the top names of the underground-dancefloor-dub-avant-garde scene for a sizzling, throbbing bunch of remixes. Noiseshaper, Dreadzone, Rob Smith (Smith & Mighty) Kid Loco, Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound, Uptone (Executive producer Silly Walks Movement), Audio Active, G-Rizo, Pole, Don Letts Dub Cartel, The Strike Boys, Karl Möstl, Dubblestandart, Salz, Dave Ruffy/Mark Wallis, in the name of Seeed. On August 17 1974, Kung Fu Fighting hit the top spot in the British charts. This exuberant mix of pop, disco and funk was written by Carl Douglas and producer Iddu. The song's origins have since become the stuff of legends: the raw version of the song and the lyrics were put down on tape in the studio in only ten minutes. From these volcanic beginnings the single went on to sell more than 10 million copies. Exactly 30 years down the line Echo Beach is releasing an album of contemporary slants on this epoch-defining song: roll out the remixes ... disco trip-dubs for the DJ club cockpit of the 21st century. Hail Carl Douglas -- the One Day Wonder Hit! "
