"Holger Brauns joins the party with a couple of killer cuts from two of his collaborative projects. On the 'Dog Side,' Pecklar & Brauns have created a 15-minute epic -- a collision of post-minimal neo-trance -- that rides a wave of emotion from beginning to end. 'The Salvation' is a piece of music that lifts you up above the clouds and transports you back to any number of long forgotten situations... from Berlin to Ibiza, from Glastonbury to Koh Phangan. From the deep, synthetic heartbeat that ushers the track in to the lush multi-layered arrangement that defines the breakdown, it slowly builds through a combination of fractured hi-hat sequences, ground shaking beats and a pulsing 6/8 hookline that adds some bite to the proceedings. 'The Salvation' is a perfectly weighted track and the time it takes to peak and then unravel, allows the main motif to develop through several contrasting phases, each accompanied by a new, shifting landscape. Fluctuating between darkness and light, it radiates energy and will surely accompany a few sunrises over the coming months. Over on the flip, 'The Remission' has its feet rooted firmly to the ground. Earthed by a bassline that snakes its way lazily through the scratchy undergrowth, Holger Brauns and Haktan O'Nal add a bit of swagger to the release with this raw, funk fueled groove. Full of twisted percussion fills and a mad, squawking main riff that pecks into your subconscious. It's designed to get the dancefloor shaking and provides the perfect foil to the high drama on the other side."
