This is UK-based Crazy P's first release on 2020 Vision. Stop Space Return combines classic songwriting techniques with a cutting-edge, authentic nu-disco sound. Crazy P have unintentionally found themselves as part of the recent renaissance that has crossed the Atlantic from New York City and now sits alongside Hercules & Love Affair and Escort as a band that can cut it live. Stop Space Return captures Crazy P at their peak and magically blends their influences of classic NYC house, disco, '80s pop influences (The Blockheads, The Police, Talking Heads) and the sultry vocals of Donna Summer or Patrice Rushen. Lead singer Danielle Moore is now a fully paid-up member of the band, alongside original duo James Baron (keys) and Chris Todd (guitar) with Tim Davies (bass) and Matt Klose (drums), adding her vocals to every track. The hyperkinetic, uplifting mood of the music is nicely tempered by the sweetness of her vocals. Crazy P's pedigree as recording artists is clearly documented by three superb previous albums -- their first two classics A Nice Hot Bath With and The Wicked Is Music on Paper Recordings and Night On Earth on Shiva, which sold over 20,000 copies. The latter proved to be a massive step up for the band, making them bona fide stars in Australia, New Zealand and the UK as well as cementing their reputation as highly-respected songwriters. BBC Radio One's Pete Tong became a huge fan and rotated the singles constantly, also inviting the band to record a live session in the Maida Vale Studios. Singles Sun Science and Lady T went on to become Ibizan sunset and festival classics and found their way into countless compilations. Only a small handful of dance acts such as Groove Armada, Roisin Murphy and Hot Chip can put on a proper live performance, and Crazy P are part of this unique group. They're a band that gets the party started with headline performances at The Big Chill, Good Vibrations in Sydney, Dance Village at Glastonbury, The Garden Festival in Croatia, plus also having supported Faithless on their 2005 stadium tour across the globe. Check the tracks "Lie Lost" with mixes by Maurice Fulton and Hot Toddy, and "Love On The Line" with mixes by Art Of Tones/Llorca and Pete Herbert, which also comes kitted out with a fantastic video. Take notice.
