"We've been introduced to Viking Music by DJ Chloé, who held the label in high esteem; according to her, their releases sounded all like class & minimalism. This 30 year old guy, based in Lausanne-CH, became a local hero with his incredible live acts, a rich mixture of R&B, electro, Ghetto house, hip-hop, techno rhythms. Bauchamp's mini LP explores all these beats. Actually, all Bauchamp's tracks are dance oriented: Basic synthetic melodies (Lully in the middle), swinging beat (y.c.g.n.w.a.f.b.), dark breakbeat promenade (autumn's night), heavy hip-hop bassline (all night long), disco guitar and acid divagations (jumping K), party starter (same frequency) and more... There?s an attitude you can feel through the whole release... kinda lo-fi low profile that requires you to sit down to hear everything about it and get to the bottom of things. It reminds us of Morgan Geist's earliest tracks on labels such as Clear (for those who remember)."
