Bodymovin is the partnership of DJ Friction (of the hugely popular German band Freundeskreis), and DJ Thomilla (the well-known hip-hop DJ and producer, also one-half of Turntablerocker with Michael Beck). After much success individually, and eventual touring together with their various different projects, the pair got together as a DJ double act, and so Bodymovin was born. The album is richly decorated with lovingly-played analog synth vibes, funked-out bass lines, irresistible vocal hooks and an unending supply of tight, club-friendly beats. All this is tied together by subtle, lovingly-sequenced arrangements that lock the listener in, yet surprise them with a constant forward-moving energy that presents raw musical ideas in a more digestible context.
