Amphibious choruses rise from the swamp of a forest world. A transmitter sends out its signal from a distant region of space. Alien Flowers is a collection of sonic flora produced by Man From Uranus: eleven flowers from eleven planets, each track a unique exotic specimen varying in color and style, hybrids of '70s electronic library, meandering cosmic jazz, and futurist alien hip hop. MFU began making cosmic music in the year 2000 as means to soundtrack studies in astronomy. This quickly evolved into a live act which took influence from radiophonic experiments, obscure library music, and psychedelic experiences. At times the music of MFU takes on visual qualities enhanced by the use of absurd props and situationalist behavior -- acting out the role of a defective and belligerent robot, or pretending to be a floating dead astronaut, or the ruler of a dystopian world. Live and on record, MFU constructs and deconstructs the sound into hypnotizing synesthetic realms where notes feel like living organisms. MFU can be found in his natural habitat, playing underground venues, galleries, and events in the UK and Europe, or revealing his home studio secrets in the 2007 award-winning documentary One Man in the Band. Although MFU is a natural lone hand, he has been known to collaborate, as a member of exotic psychedelic group Vanishing Twin, on a forthcoming album by Laetitia Sadier, and with Taishi Nagasaka (Fat White Family) on this very record. Comes with download code.
