2010 release. The elusive Shackleton showcases his incendiary live set on Fabric 55. A disorienting trip through unclassifiable styles awaits those brave enough to enter the void. The self-effacing Lancashire-born Sam Shackleton first came to prominence during the early rise of the dubstep scene. The Skull Disco label he ran alongside Appleblim was influential, in that it combined more abstract or avant-garde musical forms with music that could work on advanced dancefloors. Skull Disco was home to Shackleton's cuts such as "Stalker," "Death Is Not Final" and "Blood on My Hands," reworked by Ricardo Villalobos into an 18-minute four-to-the-floor version. Like Ricardo Villalobos and Omar S before, Shackleton's contribution to the Fabric series blurs the boundaries between artist album and mix CD, featuring only his own tracks. The mix consists mainly of unreleased, exclusive material alongside a handful of earlier tracks, and all tracks have been re-worked into entirely new, never-before-heard versions.
