2008 release. Simian Mobile Disco is English electronic music production duo James Ford and James Anthony Shaw, who formed as a splinter group in 2005 after their band Simian (with Simon William Lord and Alex MacNaghten) disbanded. Simian released two albums, Chemistry Is What We Are (2001) and We Are Your Friends (2002), the latter being produced by Brian Eno, from which the single of the title's track (a remix of their song "Never Be Alone"), was credited to Justice vs. Simian as it was in part written by French electro outfit Justice; and it famously won the award for best video at the MTV Europe Video Awards 2006 where fellow nominee Kanye West appeared on stage mid-acceptance to complain about the victory. They have so far released three albums, as well as countless singles and remixes. SMD are much in-demand as remix producers, having remixed artists like Muse, The Klaxons, The Go! Team, Air, The Rapture, Björk, CSS, Ladytron, The Presets, Peaches, and Tahiti 80. Artists included on this mix: Tomita, Sisters Of Transistors, Hercules And Love Affair, Smith N Hack, Discodeine, Shit Robot, Perc & Fractal, Metro Area, Worthy, Moon Dog, Fine Cut Bodies, Bentobox vs. Chordian, Jelo & DeadMau5, Popof, Raymond Scott, Paul Woolford Presents Bobby Peru, Moebius Plank Neumeier, Plastikman, Green Velvet, and The Walker Brothers.
