"Sonoptic is Chuck Marcus and Alison Faith Levy. Sonoptic is currently known as the music half of a project known as Sonoptic Overload -- an experimental music/film performance that has been held around San Francisco, including an evening at the prestigious Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Sonoptic Overload consists of triple- projection experimental films and loops accompanied by a hypnotic arsenal of analog keyboards and guitars, played deftly by the two members of Sonoptic, creating a visual and sonic landscape which is both completely random and serendipitously synchronous. Chore Overload consists of ten live improvisations inspired by such divergent sources as whirring appliances, kosmisches muzik, Fripp and Eno collabs, the unpredictable patterns of a small ancient Casio, Young Marble Giants, David Tudor's Rainforest and Raymond Scott's Soothing Sounds for Baby."
