"5678 is the fourth release on Tim Simenon's Electric Tones label, and the second part in a series profiling worldwide practitioners of the electronic arts. This release sees the return to the label of Opiate, as well as the recording debut of the exotically named Ricardo Avacado - a fresh new talent from Amsterdam. Track 1 ('Music: The Conspiracy') sees Ricardo creating an unsettling air of atmospheric whisperings, underpinned by tight, clipped dub grooves. 'Jingle Jingle' then sees digital percussion collide with haunting textures to create a rich sonic sculpture. Opiate continues the dub theme with 'Duplo', where reggae is chopped and filtered into abstract machine funk. 'Post' is more typical of his other work, as an understated melancholic mood is enhanced by a simple melody line and syncopated snares." Limited stock.
