Label: AXIS
Format: 12"
Price: $6.50
Catalog #: AX 019-AFV
"Sit back and hold on. This version takes you on a journey deep into the cavities of time. The unknown. Minimal movements, mid-range dominated sequences pop-up from the vinyl light like boiling molten lava. Designed for the dancefloor, seductive tracks invite the listeners to experience to worst of their fears. Non-human music. Mayhem for the mind more than the music. The sickness of it all."

Title: From the 21st Part 1
Label: AXIS
Format: 12"
Price: $6.50
Catalog #: AX 019-OUR
"From the 21st is a judicious peak into the future. It marks a momentous start point for all that have interest in the field of future music exploration. Masterfully scripted by Jeff Mills, he compresses expectations, fears and hopes that we have about the 21st Century into a wonderful tale of mystic and intrigue. Previously released in Japan, the land of the rising sun (1999) through Sony Music to mark the coming of the year 2000. Though a 12" single was scheduled to be released shortly after the release of the CD/LP, Mills abruptly decides to hold back the 12" single release for astronomical reasons. We now have the green light to release these much sought-after 12" singles. This particular version is designed to tell a sympathetic approach to the new century. Compositions are more structured than minimal. It was intended to project a unique wariness to the listeners. Thought-provoking and spiritually applicable. Music for mind more than the mayhem."

Title: UFO/4ART
Label: AXIS
Format: 12"
Price: $6.50
Catalog #: AX 024
Produced and mixed by Jeff Mills for Axis Records 2001. "I've been testing this record for about 4 weeks, the response from the people is a very good one. 'UFO' is a track that was produced back in 1995 along with a cluster of rave-oriented tracks that never officially released. Designed to be dangerous and heavy, my vision was to create the feeling of UFOs swooping down towards the listeners. I've found that using 2 copies of UFO, to repeat the introduction works very well. '4ART' was previously released on AX-015 'The Other Day' EP. I had always thought that this track was rather unique and interesting because my attempt was to give the impression that the lead keyboard sounds were actually talking and saying words. I believe this track was overshadowed by the other tracks on the Other Day EP, 'i9'. Enjoy!" -- Jeff Mills

Title: Every Dog Has Its Day Vol. 3
Label: AXIS
Format: 2x12"
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: AX 026
"In time, all wrongdoings are eligible for correction. Even in the eye of a storm, we must endure the invalid as a objective fragment in the existence of mankind. Effortlessly, time passes over and onto, without you and without us. On it, we mark the acceptance of the new with the chance to begin again and give away the hand of the past, free of inadmissibles. Those who are punctual are thieves of time. Robbing from reserves of time that have been designated for nothing. In time, time tells truths or at least the truths you've been waiting for. Time is the oldest living thing we own. Its rate of speed is constant and in all, infinite. Some never have enough time, which are those people that are quick to recognize those who waste it. Is time or is it not? It has been said that seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades and centuries are just about all the average human can imagine and plan for. Millsart believes not. All that is needed to calculate is that 'one of these days is none of these days'. Now that you've read this, please be advised that Every Dog Has Its Day." --Millsart

Title: Expanded
Label: AXIS
Format: 12"
Price: $6.00
Catalog #: AX 039
"It has been said that the most remarkable thing about knowledge is that it not only has the ability to sustain the weather of opinion but also self-improves with each given instance the mind encounters. Ways and the means to be acknowledged become more elusive as the spiraling of life easily engulfs the impatient. By putting down the guard, letting loose of the reins and residing with the unknown puts forth a gesture in investing for a better understanding of the questions when?, where? and more importantly, why? The AX-010 Growth EP saga continues."

Title: 2087
Label: AXIS
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: AX 043CD
"It is the year 2087. The world had become a place where thoughts were not only monitored and restricted, but also, muted or reconstructed to favor the current rulers of Earth and its inhabitants. The once exceptional human was merely reduced to a byproduct in the multi-dimensional industry of Planetary Hypostatisification. A boundless depository of cosmic energy controlled by an unknown force that had become too powerful to even reveal itself. A small and resourceful group of young scientists, engineers and devoted supporters create and send back through time a Cyborg. A low technological invention consisting of human fibers and machine. Out of desperation and precise planning, he is sent back to the year 1966 to prevent Earth's leading mathematician from thinking about the numeric breakthrough that would eventually lead to the mass thought control and human manipulation of the future. The Cyborg (Garth) soon discovers he is not alone in his mission, giving grave suspicion to possible traitors or spy within the young group of his creators. Garth succeeds in finding and assassinating his target, but as the result, he alters the Future and becomes the only remaining symbol of a time that never existed. A man out of Time. 2087 is inspired by the science fiction film Cyborg: 2087 (1966) by the writer Arthur C. Pierce, directed by Franklin Adreon. Plot modification and soundtrack by Jeff Mills."

Title: Alpha Centauri
Label: AXIS
Format: 12"
Price: $8.50
Catalog #: AX 049EP
"In the early years, our age of space exploration, the risks often ran higher than our minds can have fathomed. This noble story begins in the year 1965, an age of wonder. While the world struggles with the indifferences of race, ideology and territory, a team of the world's leading scientists, doctors and engineers of space travel; all experts in their fields and highly competent, ignited the most advanced spacecraft ever designed, the Jupiter. The mission: to reach the uncharted and highly speculative domain 4.35 light years away from the sun. There, resides a triple star system. The two brightest components being Alpha Centauri A (02) and B (Kl). The third and significantly smaller star Alpha Centauri C or otherwise known as 'Proxima' (M5), comprise our greatest chance to find intelligent life. But, 'all laid plans of mice and men often go astray.' Precisely 42:00:01 hours after take-off, mission control detected a rare occurrence. It was believed to be a minor malfunction or calculation in the overall weight and cargo of the spacecraft. This slight, but crucial difference caused the on-board computer to miscalculate the precise location and entrance of the spacecraft through the Piron Nebula, narrow openings in the outer edges of Cyril, the largest black hole ever found. As mission control analysts struggle to find an answer to solve this problem before the routine communication black out between Jupiter and mission control, weather patterns here on earth hindered the situation to the point of complete detachment. At 45:15 :02, our most talented and brightest hope for a new dawn vanished in the depths of outer space. Without a signal or clue, the Jupiter spacecraft disappears amongst the stars. In swift reactions of all participating international space agencies, numerous recovery missions were launched from every space part of our globe, but as of yet, no distress signals have been received. We can only hope that our team of the Jupiter spacecraft have the will and strength to survive this great ordeal and our prayers go out to all their families and loved ones. Until then, we wait... Axis Records proudly presents Alpha Centauri, conceived and produced by Jeff Mills."

Artist: X-102
Title: Flyby
Label: AXIS
Format: 12"
Price: $8.50
Catalog #: AX 052EP
"In 1992 Jeff Mills, Mike Banks and Robert Hood -- still known at that time as Underground Resistance -- released what was probably the most futuristic album in modern electronic music, X-102 discovers The Rings Of Saturn, as part of their X-10... series. The tracks on X-102 were reduced to minimal levels, looping with a marginal BMP rate, spacey and sometimes entirely without beats. This was revolutionary: listeners had just become accustomed to the uncompromising Detroit techno sound that the three of them had produced so far. Thus on the way to Saturn, they surpassed even themselves, if not a decade jump, then at least 15 years ahead of their time. Only since the Cassini/Huygen missions have we been able to gather images and awareness about Saturn, its moons, and the consistency of its rings. Jeff Mills' fascination for the planet remained intact, but to reanimate the project he had but one requirement: only together with Mike Banks. Until now this hasn't been possible because since the 1990s, both co-founding members of UR have gone their separate musical ways. But finally they've again joined forces to activate together their second Saturn mission. Flyby EP is a second 12" from the X-102 rediscovers The Rings Of Saturn project, mixed with the tracks from the original X-102 album and the new music reflecting the knowledge gained through modern space research. This is not old-meets-new: this is innovation restructured with masterly polishing -- timeless."

Title: The Good Robot
Label: AXIS
Format: 12"
Price: $8.50
Catalog #: AX 055EP
"From the beginning, I knew that with this subject, if not approached in the genuine way, could be misleading as to why I would make a project on the subject as predictable as pet robots. It is clear to me that robots will become more important as they integrate into our everyday lives and increasingly so in the far future. With this view of certainty, the inescapable facts about how we will shape our existence will grow as we wrestle with how much civility our societies will require. My interest grew over the past year on this subject and the view I've developed of the negligent and reckless usage of technology like computers, Internet, reproductive science and artificial intelligence. Enhanced by the media sources, these instances of deceit and alternative motives become major, influential and controlling. It seems that in our quest to perfect ourselves and the world around us, we often accept and ignore tradition, the values that are taught and learned in the process. Though the title is called The Good Robot, it isn't about good or a robot at all. Instead it references the multilateral degree of bad that we humans wield upon ourselves and each other, decorated under the mantra of good or better. The Good Robot signifies bad deeds. Earned by the inability to accept our limitations and the future we expect to be involved in, we allow and endorse a scale of morals that fall short of our human mental and physical capacity. A focus only on the results, not the method and process in which it took to arrive at such a state has become the norm. As we needlessly shed away things like intent, technique, perspective (which leads to personal expression) and consequence, we are leaving a path for future generations in which it will become impossible to follow and understand. There is always a reason for every action we make, but when the actions themselves become the only purpose, there is short term success. Robots committing dark tasks that evolve from our alter egos is nothing new. Since the dream of artificial humans began, there has always been the need to counter the charge of whether we as humans have to capacity to accept robots as just our servants. We want all good robots, but are we capable of producing them?"

Title: The Defender
Label: AXIS
Format: 12"
Price: $8.50
Catalog #: AX 056EP
"The second installment to The Good Robot series. This release is about Protection and Security. In the future, we'll depend more on servant Robots to assist us in our everyday lives. One of these tasks will be security. The Defender is not only equipped to warn of any potential threat to you or your loved ones, but it will also handle all the messy incidental arrangements that could persist after a alleged assault took place. Things like: apprehending the suspects, filing police reports, criminal IDs, disaster clean-up, witness confirmations and many more time-consuming tasks that eat away at your precious time. Quality time that can be spent with family and friends."
