BANG 001EP
"Well it's here, finally here. The first release of our forever talked about, met about and emailed about record label, Bang Gang 12 Inches. The first song has been nearly as long in coming as the actual label, which came first, the chicken or the egg? Who knows? Daft Punk came first with 'Around the World,' tho. Nicky Van She (from the band Van She) and Dangerous Dan (from the Bang Gang!) have come in close second with a synth and guitar-heavy mod version. (Modern) 'Around the World Again' this is a proper death metal rave version of what is possibly the best song ever written." One-sided 12".

"Number three from ex-raving posse the Bang Gang DJ's record label called Bang Gang 12 Inches. His music is cool, its explosive vocals, out of time four part harmonies over the top of soft trance synths and OTT lo-fi house tunes, and every now and then there is a dose of solid techno. The best bit about Muscles is Muscles, he's like this good looking but dorky childlike dweeb that looks like a man. He is naive but magical, a pulsating explosion sent from the future showered in peace and love and mirrors and streamers. He is the underdog that already won the race to the lasers. He is the fist pumping idiot savant. Watching him is like sliding down a water slide surrounded by baby animals. He is outrageous and wearing the oversize party hat."

BANG 007EP
"Last time I wrote about the Bag Raiders 'Fun Punch,' I went on some rant about me being in Ibiza, on the floor in the main room at Pacha, listening to Erick 'More' Morillo play filtered French house. I had my hands the air, the lasers were in full effect, the Italian girls were looking fine and my ecstasy was working overtime. I declared that it would have been the best song of the nite, a song so great that you would have bathed in Erick's sweat and wouldn't feel at all weird about it at all. Now after caning this every set all over the world in the last 6 months I take it back. Erick Morillo dropping that would have made the 12,684 ecstasies that were digested in the last hour be vomited up all over the island. People would be vomiting in waves of joy and these would have been rolling around like lost little pingers with no eyes and just insides made from MDMA. And then. The remixes arrive! And here come the pingers! Like little lost kittens with butter on their paws they find their way home. And all the empty stomach raved out beautiful people at Pacha decide to 'double dump' their old lost pingers that they previously vomited up and the party continues! Like a fairy tale for clubber's 'lord of the pings' 'the dark crystal meth' or 'the never ending breakdown' etc. The 12,684 lost no-eyed pingers now eaten (lets call them LLNEP) (long lost now eaten pingers) now get distributed amongst the remixes. The first 1,999 get swallowed by people getting lost on the way to the bathroom listening to ZZZ's super Chopin/Mozart/Bach/Grey/Beethoven/Liszt etc on meth style 3-minute breakdown remix. Word. The next 2,589 were had (shelved) on the dancefloor, lights off 2:33 am grooving to nightlife's dark late nite 2:33 am style Melbourne disco groove shuffle. Then 4,406 were eaten by young Justice fans headbanging to white noizes French style daka daka daka DAAA woop woop!!! Sweating like Carl Cox in their Ed Banger t-shirts and trying to hold their jeans up cause they just sold there limited edition oversized Justice logo belt to buy a water at 20 euros a pop. And the last 3,690 were delicately split in halves to make them easier to swallow by a mixture of French/Canadian/Dutch/German/Russian/Swiss/Italian/New Zealand/English/Scottish/Australian/Californian/Hungarian/Polish/Spanish and some gay dudes dancing on the balcony's to the Bag Raiders even more synthed-out skipped-out drawn out mix of their own super Ibiza Pacha Erick 'More' Morillo hit... ready for it you know how it goes (play the hero part now) FUN punch! and that is THE END."

BANG 009EP
Extended 8 track EP from the Australian label that consistently attempts to drink Ed Banger under the table. "A collab between Death Set and four remixers. So instead of calling it a remix, we're just gonna call it a collab. For the Bang Gang the remix is dead, redundant, tired and old. Move out old school, get ready for the new COLLAB. 'Have you heard the new Soulwax collab of Justice?' 'How about the Aeroplane collab of Mgmt?' 'No no no wait!' 'Hey bro, how sick is the Soulwax collab of Mgmt, it's pumpin', fully pumpin!' That's what we are going to be hearing from all our budding Aussie DJs. Next, you're going to hear it in Ghent, closely followed by Paris and eventually it will end up in the States when we have a new word for collab, which probably is going to be remix. Who knows. Who cares? We do. We care about you. We care about music. We care about The Deathset. And we care that in this EP there is close to 7000 sounds per song (Impressive when each song goes for 1 and a half minutes). Anyway, the originals are sick, they make me think back to when I was a 13-year-old skate rat with my new Natas deck, my old vision street wears (with the lace cover) listening to my ghetto blaster getting psyched to Suicidal Tendencies before I go for my first judo air of the day off my 3 ft. jump ramp sitting in the driveway. The collabs are straight up four-to-the-floor super-modern chunky tech -- something for the grown up skate rat now a DJ. Have a listen, you will be pleasantly surprised. This is one of my favorite bg12"s releases so far. And I love all of them! This is what Doom said. 'Deathset are originally from the Gold Coast, lived in Sydney for a while, then moved to Brooklyn and now live in Baltimore. They used to be a two-piece but lost a member and picked up two new members, so are the three-piece. They play really fun fast sets and jump around a lot and sometimes break shit and occasionally bleed. Jonny the singer has a real high-pitchrf voice too and used to sleep under a bench in the worst house I had ever seen. They are super dope. Some remixer information - Treasure Fingers is American and does stuff on Fools Gold, Bumblebeez, lives in rural Australia, likes going roo shooting and is on Modular. Bonde de Role, you know about them. Gloves is from Melbourne and is in Damn Arms and is doing a 12" with bg12"s later in the year."

BANG 011EP
"Its still got the filtered, old school French touch inspired sound, but its got something else. Maybe its got a bit more drama, even more adventure, some Vangelis soundtrack vibes. Whatever it is, it's hard to describe, it's like truffles. You know that weird taste, you're full of food, you don't want to eat more but you just have to so you can put your finger on the truffle taste? You know the feeling. That's what the Bag Raiders sound is, it sounds so good, a bit familiar, but you can't pick it so you just keep dancing. Yep, that's it. Truffle house! That's what it is. I think I just invented a genre. Or the Bag Raiders did anyway. If the Bag Raiders were quicker in the studio they could rival Danny Tenaglia for the 24-hour set. People would not be able to stop dancing! But for now you just have to be content with this EP. Track one, 'Turbo Love,' is a straight-up Bag Raiders can't-get-off-the-dance-floor party action -- blah blah blah -- full of some balls-chopped-off high pitched super vocoding and a lead to make you play air keytar to. Track two is a thicker and faster version of the first track that makes you feel as though you were at a slamball convention without your knee pads and mouthguard. 'Shooting Stars' features the first real life vocal (meaning not a robot voice) for the Bag Raiders, and who else to feature than our very own Rhys from like woah! The kid has soul, not Marvin Gaye soul, but enough soul {to get your not-so-brand-new Olympic edition Air Max Ones resoled while he hits the highs) to get some plays on by Pete Tong if he is feeling moody. Track four is the dub of 'Shooting Stars' and it is awesome. I love the vocal, but I really love the dub. I even just love the word dub. Hey dude what's up? Nuttin much, just listening to dub. Yep, dub is where it is at. And this is where it's at, it has thump, it has drama, it has everything you want for the club, for the car. Not for the dinner table but for me that's enough, I mean who wants to listen to the dub version at a dinner table, unless your listening to dub as in ragga, as in Bob motherfuckin Marley. (Sorry couldn't help it)."

BANG 014EP
"The Valentinos, or as I should say now, The Lost Valentinos? Or the band 'formerly known as' The Valentinos before their legendary name change? Anyway. Poor little conquistadors just want to make music, not stress over clause 23 in the trademark agreement over who has the rights to a name. Fuck those people, if they only knew about music, if they had a soul, they would pay these kids to share their name! Man, there is some whackheads out there without a vision. But thank god we do. And thank god the Lost Valentinos do. Together, we are like the Aussie version of Obama. 'We don't need to change the players, we need to change the game.' Amazing. Anyway. These kids have a vision and a good vision it is. Last time Kim 'party machine' Moyes of Presets and 6 million ARIA fame produced their album. This time with the addition of the human metronome, Simon Parker (formerly of Damn Arms) they sacrificed their cushy Sydney digs and suntans and koala bongs and to moved to a shithole some thought was a good place called East London or 'shoreditch' to the people that read
Dazed and Confused
. Now that's a sacrifice. You might think oh god! Poor kids! How could they do that? But the trade was well worth it. Ewan Pearson traded his shoreditch-based production talent for their Conquistadisco souls and it was a good trade. Worked for the Rapture and Goldfrapp and it has definitely worked for the Lost Valentinos. We signed the first single,
The Bismarck
, and it is sweet. It's kinda Aussie with a touch of INXS vocal style, kinda dark but not too dark, a bit dance, a touch sad, a bit heavy and with a whole lot of groove. It has building, gnarly synth lines balanced with soft melodies, gothic, choir -ike vocals, a driving bass line, and more sonic layers than the band has moustaches. Woah! The remix package is big. Real big. First up, is the Goldenbug mix -- proper nuevo dancefloor cool from the Parisian slash Barcelonan cut-up disco doctor on Berlin punk-funk label, Gomma. Next, the local Sydney via Perth nu- heroes The Canyons have come through with a slow, drugged-out version that you could imagine Bez losing his nut to. Knife Machine take things even darker and more wonky with their mix and the Japanese duo the Dexpistols have come up with a remix so noisy, you wish you had brought some of those earmuffs ravers wear.'

BANG 015EP
"Bag Raiders return from their middle American bowling alley DJ tour to release the
Turbo Love Remixes
on BangGang12s. Ditching the B-side, this package turbos up, straps on some nitrodepth chargers and shoots the tune off into the noisy dancefloor hit-o-sphere. Shinichi Osawa: Wow. His remix can only be described as power-dance. He takes the original, whacks even more turbo-ness on it and re-sings the vocal himself to make an abrasive almost-but not-quite- trance, hands-in-the-air blisterer. The perfect soundtrack to your late night steroid and powerade party. Kim took a short break from his role as Presets party machini to reverse a monster truck and a half full of donks onto the original that hots-it-up into a turbospeed booty monster. Flight Facilities enlist the help of cruise ship crooner and all round excellent dude Louis Austen along with a double bass, a flute and horns section to transform 'Turbo Love' into a oh-so-smooth-how-you-ladies-doing-out-there business class lounge serenader. This one would gets hearts fluttering at Club Meds and bingo halls worldwide. Then Light Year injects some cut up Italo party vibes into it, Whitenoise adds a ton of noise and Spruce Lee invokes the spirit of sweaty Chicago sauna hustlers in his retake of the track to finish this monster 6 re-take release off."

BANG 017EP
"After the release of Damn Arms' two part not-quite-smash-hit-but-should-have-been-
Destination
release early this year, BangGang 12s has roped in a bunch of their favourite artists for remix duties to to set the good ship
Destination
a sail once more. And wow did we get a lot of remixes. Woah. One million and counting. DerDieDas, the two men with the most German sounding name in dance music produced the least sounding German remix possible, turning out an super feel good melodious synth heavy retake, Jaunt rework it into a French house slash dark trance affair (is that a new genre?), BangGang (that's us!) don't stray to far from original, injecting a tad more acidy balls into it and Munk lend their signature Gomma-fied blissed out summer disco vibes to it. Then Cassian (latest stupidly young musical man on BG12s) makes that shit FUNK-Y (yes I did just use the word funky), Mitzi (winner of Spank Records/BangGang12s Destination remix compeition) offer up a slow chugging percussive kinda disco version, Ted & Francis keep things all '80s soundtrack and Riggarutz turns it into a piece of beautiful electronica, so nice you feel like crying. Told you there are LOTS of remixes on this one. Phew."

BANG 019EP
"Hey Today!, the Hamburgian duo of Raik Fargo and Dy! emerge from long months spent twiddling knobs, eating icecream on Mars and listening to themselves twiddle deeeeep inside their tekhno bunker to offer up their latest and greatest 3 track (plus Kicktro),
Wonderman E.P
, on BangGang12s. Following on from their debut release on Kitsune last year, remixes for Digitalism (Kitsune), Shazam (Bang Gang) and Zombie Nation (Turbo) and time spent appreciating the wonders of German sausage, Wonderman combines the duos epic production talents with robotic vocoding, synth solos and female (not diva) vocals to produce a very German-non-German-sounding-superhero-house stormer. 'Wish I Was a Wonderman' is a slow chugging euphoric noisy-but-not-too-noisy jammer that works just as well for foot tapping, head nodding, chin stroking and body moving alike. As big on the breakdowns as it is on the synth stabs, this one will tear holes in the dancefloors from Beirut to Berlin. Wonderman reworks the title track into a faster and even noisier affair that is straight up peaktime hands in the air 'have you got any more Es woah here comes the breakdown I'm peakin'" fun. And Parisienne Instituber Bobmo takes the original and jams it through his trademark '90s cut-ghetto-dancemaniac hit machine to produce a rave-but-not-nu-rave missle to finish off this release."

"Toecutter has been sitting on this one since 1984 when he recorded the hook onto a cassette and then spent 25 years deliberating on its merits. It has been remixed by such dance music notables as Shazam, Jono Ma, Captain Ahab, Electromeca and DJ Rainbow Ejaculation. Basically it's been the 'Cops Are Coming' anthem of Sydney's square party underground for ever but the Bang Gang 12"s boys have now brought it into THE LIGHT! So enjoy the Rough Trade, acid come-down, Roule-inspired, world domination, 8 bit gabber, grind-house festival of noise provided by these outstanding artists."

BANG 022EP
"From the deep, dark cold depths of Melbourne down and out disco suburbia comes the long-long-please-send-me-the-masters-already-long-long awaited debut release from serial hitmaker, synth wiz, coffee addict and all round dudebabe, Gloves. Fresh, from the titanic sinking of his former musical yacht, Damn Arms, and off the back of remixes for the likes of Cut Copy, Vanshe, Sneaky Sound System,The Deathset, the Scare and Ted & Francis, Gloves sails bright into the dance horizon with his first 2 track original release on BangGang12s. The lead track, 'PYX' is a cut up party Prince-esque monster full of electric guitar solos, live bass guitar slaps, silky smoothpianos, Jarre-esque laser harp and movie vocal chops. 'Are we having fun yet?' First appearing in demo mode on BangGang's
D Is for Disco, E is For Dancing
mix CD, 'PYX' has been newly check-out-the-engine-on-this-hotted-up for the release. Then 'Too Much To Dream' is a dreamy slow dance disco house joint showcasing why Gloves is as popular with the ladies as is with the bloggers. And then for the remixes -- Golden Bug, our favourite French-Barcelona-Gommazonian turns 'PYX' into an epic summer disco affair, Cut Copy's bass playing wizard Ben Browning converts it into a guitar heavy early night foot tapper and Strip Steve offers up two retakes -- the 'Paradise Dub,' reworking it into an extra length late night disco number and the 'remix' adding Strip Steve's signature erratic boy-noize-rekids cut up '90s house touch."

"After his debut album
Hot Robot
on Gomma last year and remixes for the likes of Delphic, GLOVES, Adam Freeland, Rodion and Lost Valentinos, Golden Bug crosses many an ocean to release his fresh 5 track cut-disco release on Australian label, BangGang 12"s. 'Assassin' is a slow temp new school electro track with a dark hypnotic bassline, acid keyboards and pitched vocals. 'Ghost Day' is a chugging spaced out cosmic disco track featuring Yoshimi Yamano Aka AMWE from Japan on guest vocals. 'Last Dance in Tokyo' is a Tribal discoid summer jam with tonnes of vocoder, '80s keyboard stylings and a killer of a (watch ya bassbins) bassline. 'Lord of Pleasure' is a building dancefloor weapon with tripped out and more guitarefor all the '70s disco funk fans. And then on remix duties Gloves takes 'Last Dance', keeping slabs of the original and reworks in into a ozzie hands in the air summer piano disco house affair."

"From the bright sunny heights of outer Sydney and after months of tweaking in his studio/parents living room comes the original funky-fresh Zulu synth warrior, Cassian, with his 3 track release on BangGang 12s. This is Cassian's debut outing after remixing the likes of Empire of the Sun, Bag Raiders, Damn Arms and Miami Horror. The lead track, 'Friday Night' is the perfect weekend synth jam with wah wah guitar, disco vocals, stabbing guitar chords, horn stabs and more. 'Final Round' is a feel good summer opus with distorted bassline, arcade game samples, knockout drums and filters filters filters. 'The Fuck Song' (as the title suggets) is a super smooth jazz piano funk number with strat riffs, filtered funk chords, trumpet stabs, crooning vibrato solos and a smoooooooooth deep synth bassline."
