Artist: LODEMANN, ANDRE
Title: Fragments Originals
Label: BEST WORKS (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: BWR 001A-EP
This is the second vinyl teaser for André Lodemann's album Fragments (BWRLP 001CD). This EP selection features two brand-new original tracks "Going To The Core" (feat. Nathalie Claude) and "Unknown Desire" as well as vinyl-first "Don't Panic." While "Going To The Core," a spoken-word track, starts off with a focused sample-groove that then unleashes unknown emotional depths, the epic slow-burner "Unknown Desire" takes a different path, pairing funky groove with a melancholic touch. "Don't Panic" clearly has a jazzy feeling to it, avoiding clichés.

Artist: LODEMANN FEAT. NATHALIE CLAUDE, ANDRE
Title: Searchin'
Label: BEST WORKS (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: BWR 001EP
"This is the first release on the Berlin-based imprint Best Works Records. Best Works Records is a collaboration between producer and DJ Andre Lodemann and the A&R/promoter Daniel W. Best, also known for his work with Jazzanova and Best Seven Records. The track 'Searchin' had a long journey to reach its present state. Originally Lodemann created the track together with Daniel Ramm from Pikaya as a moody down-tempo album track. Later he recognized the tracks potential, transforming it into a more uptempo dance track with a housey feel. Nathalie Claude, a Swiss jazz singer, lent her voice and lyrics to the production. The trained vocalist met Andre through a mutual friend. Andre Lodemann's original version combines analog warmth with electronic production. Charles Webster, a long time contact from Daniel's event-business and a favorite remixer, delivers the remix. Again, a typically Charles Webster mix: interesting usage of vocals, deep hypnotic bass. For all those who prefer non-vocal music. The Charles Webster dub does the right job for you as well!"

Title: Coming Home EP
Label: BEST WORKS (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: BWR 003EP
"Coming Home EP is the third installment of the Andre Lodemann Trilogy on Best Works Records. This release includes remixes by Berlin-based Norman Nodge (Berghain Resident DJ and MDR Artist) and Pikaya also from Berlin, who might be known to many due to their single releases on Cadenza Records. Both Norman Nodge and Pikaya are old friends of Andre Lodemann and Daniel Best, who run Best Works Records together. With his 3rd release and of course the previous ones, Andre strives to proove his abilities in electronic production capturing very different sound-scapes that go from a classic vocal deep-house feeling (bwr001) over to what you could call 'musical journeys' with a story-telling character (bwr002) and then moving back to a sample-loop based production style in this release. Also again Lodemann delivers his typical slow build-ups for those who prefer the long mix in the DJ-booth. Both remixes featured here give Lodemann tracks a new twist. Norman Nodge in his more dubby minimal techno style reminiscent of Basic Channel in the old days and Pikaya with their more sophisticated 'dope' - house production."

Artist: SUBFOSSIL
Title: Andromeda EP
Label: BEST WORKS (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: BWR 004EP
"So at last after all those Andre Lodemann records a new artist on Best Works Records, a fellow who runs by the name of Subfossil (Daniel Ramm). Daniel Ramm has been obsessed by programming music since 1993. With an Amiga500 he got his first opportunities of programming music, from initially fast melodic trance to a sudden inspiration by slower house music in 1995. Later he did several live sets in Brandenburg region, around Berlin and in his home town, with a simple set-up (amiga/sampler/synth). His training as electronic communication engineer reinforced his interest for music-production. In 1999 he moved to Berlin. His love of electronic music, however, soon brought him together with Frank, a DJ friend from his home-town. Together they are producing and touring as Pikaya (since 2000). Pikaya has put out quite a few releases on labels such as Cadenza, Meander, etc. In those early years Daniel Ramm was also producing with Andre Lodemann. They also produced the first version of 'Searchin' a more down-tempo mix around 2000 as well. Subfossils' music can be defined as being both deep and musical, trying to give his tracks twists and turns from beginning to end. Also Daniel Ramm is a real teutonian perfectionist, each sound has been clearly defined in every nuance. The Munich native Roland Appel delivers the remix for 'Can't get no sleep.' A solid floor-filler with emotional outbursts typical of his production style. On the cover of the record you will find yet another Berlin record store picture. This time Rotation Records, near Rosenthaler Platz in Berlin."

Artist: MEYER, SAHIN
Title: World Cup South Africa 2010 EP
Label: BEST WORKS (GERMANY)

"Sahin Meyers' offering comprises 2 very techno-dub influenced deep-house tracks: 1) 'World Cup Of The Future' and 2) 'I Can't Go Broke.' Remixes of 'World Cup Of The Future' come from Berlin-native Eva Be, who for some might be known for her previous work on Best Seven/Sonar Kollektiv with her dubby electronic trademark sound and Jacek Sienkewicz of techno-fame, who Daniel Best met on quite a few occasions in a more eclectic setting, gives the whole thing a soulful techno-rub."

Andre Lodemann returns to his own label with his 4th release."The Light" brings back Lodemann's typical dramatic production style, always feeding the listener with intense moments, working to and away from the house-groove. Best Works presents the debut of two young aspiring producers from Berlin. Both of them learned their early skills in a youth project that was developed and run by label-owner and producer Andre Lodemann. Price: $20.00
Catalog #: BWRLP 001CD
This is the debut full-length album from Berlin-based DJ/producer André Lodemann. This 2CD encompasses both his creative work with original material and with remixes done for other artists. It is not a typical album, but a showcase of the incredible creative output from an artist determined to create emotional music off the beaten-track, avoiding typical building blocks and tacky software gimmicks. Lodemann has been a DJ for more than 20 years. Citing his greatest influences as Masters At Work, Mateo and Matos, Kerri Chandler and François Kevorkian, Lodemann's musical vision is to create atmosphere, arouse emotion and touch people musically. In 2001, Andre started to produce music, and over the last decade he has released 12"s and remixes on labels including Moods N Grooves, Simple Records, Room With A View, Z Records, Freerange and Buzzinfly, amongst others. His tunes "Where Are You Now?" and "The Light" became hugely popular with the worldwide underground DJ circuit. Other highlights include: remixes for Tracey Thorn, Omar and Akabu. Much of this material is presented here. The first CD of Fragments includes material released on several different labels, such as Freerange, Room With A View and his own imprint, Best Works Records. The album also contains the new Lodemann tracks "Going To The Core," featuring singer Nathalie Claude and "Unknown Desire." The second CD of Fragments features remixes, including a selection of remixes that Lodemann produced for different artists. Besides the ones mentioned above, the CD contains fresh remixes for Charles Webster's project January Tuesday, Spirit Catcher and the South African house superstars, Liquideep. Last but not least, Lodemann has reworked his remix for Omar with new vocals recorded by Omar for a new listening experience. Other artists remixed include: Prommer & Barck (feat.
