Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Superimpose
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 016CD
"Paul's releases on BPC have already rocked the house. He can't and won't keep his hands of jogs, so he just mixed up his brand new debut album Superimpose at the age of 23. He receives his inspirations mainly through his live acts with which he enlightens his listeners, makes them shake their funky asses, hypnotizes them until they break out into screams of pleasure. Paul is burning for his sound and everyone who listens to him burns with his beats -- minimal melodic tech-tracks and melancholic slowbeat. Paul we love you!!!"

Artist: ALLIEN, ELLEN
Title: Stadtkind
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 021CD
Debut album from 2001, repressed. "Finally Ellen Allien is now able to present her debut album Stadtkind The choice of title seems obvious, as the inevitable confrontation with Berlin as an urban area was always present in her childhood. This link is noticeable in the urban aspect of her music. She talks her own musical language within a psychotic, romantic and electronic plot. The chopped up sounds ornamented with atmospheric lo-fi attacks will keep you down and lift you up. The album contains among straight clubstompers and distraught spoken word electro, abstract down beat tracks too. Kneedeep and always straight out the middle of struggling daily life. The emotional range resembles to the concord's condensation trail: from light and airy heights to heavy as lead techno beats. The driving force is Ellen's vocals, which contains the whole musical spectrum of Sadtkind. It is the differentiated intensity of singing. You will never feel like you have to fall out of the window. In spite of all this, Ellen with her music on Stadtkind never gets lost in local vastness. The tough sound which boosts out of the speakers is still straight BPitch Control. Berlin can be everywhere, right?"

Artist: FUNKE, SASCHA
Title: 2:1 Für Die Liebe
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 026EP
"On '2:1 Für Die Liebe' the 24 year old Sascha Funke from Berlin uses his very own musical language, as we loved it on the preceded release 'Luftschloß'. His musical preferences are located somewhere between Berlin and Cologne but his own style can not be tieddown to one of these cities. He simply hovers between his special dry funkiness (simply Funke) one the one hand side and straight, minimal structured tracks with playful virus melodies on the other. After last years very successful releases on Kompakt, he now feels drawn to Bpitch Control as his base."

Artist: ALLIEN, ELLEN
Title: Flieg Mit Ellen Allien
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 027CD
"On Flieg mit Ellen Allien, Berlin based DJ and BPitch Control label owner Ellen Allien presents her current favorite DJ set. The musical spectrum is very broad. The will to have fun is what ties the whole set together. In this sense techno from her point of view is not necessarily meant to be dark and hard. More important is to make this kick perceptible through melodies and singing -- the bass drum is not all. The positive vibe of Flieg mit Ellen Allien is also evident in the track selection: from Meinrad Jungblut, Paula, Quarks, to Aeric, Little Computer People and Philippe Cam you can get lifted from the ground. Simply a summer mix."

Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 031.1EP
"Berlin 2001. Dedication, Representation. This compilation is the chronological successor of the first BPitch Control compilation Berlin 2000 which started this series. Every shade of it is reflected in its musical counterpart on Berlin 2001. The label is to be found among the context of techno, which picks up and alienates the urban structure to put the urban change in concrete terms by abstract sounds. BPitch Control`s characteristic dealing with the structure of electronic music, which originally involves break beat, ambient and house conveys an understanding of this music, that leads to the infancy of techno." Title: Berlin 2001
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 031CD
"Berlin 2001. Dedication, Representation. This compilation is the chronological successor of the first BPitch Control compilation Berlin 2000 which started this series. This city, its changes and the life in it, is recited and can be experienced. Every shade of it is reflected in its musical counterpart on Berlin 2001. The label is to be found among the context of techno, which picks up and alienates the urban structure to put the urban change in concrete terms by abstract sounds. BPitch Control`s characteristic dealing with the structure of electronic music, which originally involves break beat, ambient and house conveys an understanding of this music, that leads to the infancy of techno. In this case the return to the origins means the abolition of diversification. BPitch Control does not aspire homogeneity. The only compartment to be categorised voluntarily feels like a honour at the same time: Berlin. Berlin 2001 can be understood as a chronological diary of the development of techno, as well as an journey through the entire last year. BPitch Control and Berlin grow at the same speed, not only with one another, but together. The title Berlin 2001 -- Dedication. Representation summarises all that. This compilations dedication depicts the personal and emotional relation to the 'state of the art'. It is again a kind of balance sheet of the label and the city's relation. This becomes obvious by the chosen artists on Berlin 2001: They whether live in Berlin or at least had a release on BPitch Control. The joining together mobilises creative powers by applying the highest principle of BPitch Control: the collective. The further fundamental idea of BPitch Control is the agreement of being total open towards all sides -- as it can be seen on the formal principles. The artwork is done by Berlin's avant-garde graphic designers Pfadfinderei and extends the classic cover artwork by a short animated film on the CD, that provides the equal space for the sound and the visuals -- reflecting the tight relations between musical output and visual implementation at BPitch Control. Tim Buktu, Barbara Morgenstern, Mitte Karaoke, Märtini Brös, Mark Verbos, MIA. and Dash are friendly related artists. Together with the label's own artists Ellen Allien, Smash TV, Kiki, Eedio, Sascha Funke, Trike, Paul Kalkbrenner, White Dolemite and TokTok they represent the many facets of the 'Sound of Berlin'."

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Zeit
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 032CD
"The second album of Paul Kalkbrenner is titled Zeit ('time'). Not a bad title for a good record. Time always plays an important role and we also have no time to lose. That is the spirit of the age -- never pausing. Sure. Music devotes a great deal of time to this subject. Paul Kalkbrenner tells stories of good times and bad times, of added on times like in a soccer game and half-worth-times. Stories of seasons and stories of time healing all wounds, of memories of good and bad feelings, of presence and absence. Musicwise that means to deal also with in-between times, to import something from another time. This is the way time-engine-music is created, modernity out of dusty memories. The aim to create something timeless is seldom archived. This music nevertheless can claim this. There will be time for love. This is another subject of this record -- the time you spend with your loved one. And loneliness. Therefore electronic dance music sometimes changes into something else: deep pop with a glittering undertone."

Artist: BUKTU, TIM
Title: Infant Coversongs
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 036EP
"People who know BPitch Control will listen to this record in complete astonishment. Tim Buktu's 'Infant Coversongs' is the beginning of a new era on BPitch Control. Strictly speaking melting the genres, especially the aspects of classic songwriting, guitars and electronic music are brought together. Twenty two year old Berlin born Tim Buktu strolls his path very confidently, since he's got several experiences as a band musician."

Artist: MARKS, SYLVIE
Title: Baby Take Me A Little Bit Higher
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 10"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 037EP
"Sylvie Marks, energetic DJ and producer for years now, is getting ready for her guest-appearance on BPitch Control. Her track "Baby Take Ma A Little Big Higher" was first released on 7" cult label Hal 9000, is now re-released on BPC on a well proven 10" format. The original version is accompanied by the brand-new Smash TV Remix."

Artist: SMASH TV
Title: Electrified
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 040CD
"Electrified is a tight variety of Electro ? ElecTech. It bears the sign of the new millennium, transformed into 8-bit pixel optics, and hints to their b-boy roots. It is like the soundtrack for a project by the Chaos Computer Club, where a highrise-building at Alexanderplatz is used as a LED-like video screen for playing video games via telephone. While listening you move between digital abstract sounds, vocoder sounds and oldschool references as Electrified is the interface."

Artist: AMOON, ALEX
Title: I'm The Virus
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 043EP
"You'll need not even 10 seconds to notice that Alex Amoon's 'I'm The Virus' debut EP on Bpitch Control is once again a new approach to define music. Alex Amoon uses electronic equipment for producing in a jazz-like manner. He combines musical resources stripped of their original context. He feels at home on all floors and combines the best of Drum'n Bass, Techno and abstract electronic music. You can even tell that there are influences of classical singer/songwriter music of Post-Rock and Hip Hop. What you hear is a very intensive examination of the wide field of music."

Artist: SMASH TV
Title: Nobody Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 044EP
Following the release of their first long player Electrified (BPC040), this is the first remix version. The original will soon become a dance floor filler. With its hypnotic biting bass line and vocoder voices it will make you move. 'Nobody' doesn't sound a bit like retro or revival but rings in Electro2100. The Berlin beat monster Modeselektor saws up 'Nobody' to its basic components and puts them together in their typical manner. Something completely new is about to be created. For 1 1/2 minutes you can follow this dissection process `til it gets stripped from its Elechtech background and gets planted into some kind of intelligent/abstract soil. Sonorous."

Artist: TRIKE
Title: Interflug
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 045CD
"Trike is one of the first Bpitch artists and has released several lovely tracks during his time on board. In this broad and open pool of musical ideas he shows that Techno 'Made in Berlin' combines the past with the present. Interflug can be characterised best by its dry Techno sound, which is significant for Trike. The beats roll out of the speakers with a creak and invite you to a hypnotising dance that will make you forget yourself. The uncomplicated way of integrating the vocals into the sound works 100 percent here. They are more subtle embedded in the background and give enough space to the whole structure of the tracks. That's why he fails the pink pop grid, where you easily can get caught when catchy vocals shift into the foreground. Trike does it without cheap showmanship, but doesn't lack some funny effects. The groovy rolling bass line is his best fellow company. It doesn't have to be too fast -- there's definitely enough time to catch your breath. Trike catches the groove without overloaded structures. He enjoys the clarity of a minimalistic construction. On the other hand to judge Interflug as minimalistic falls short, since he has a special liking for Electro sound. In geographical context you can clearly see his refined musical ideas as a reference to the axis Berlin Detroit at its best times."

Artist: BELOW, NORA
Title: Crystallize...
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 046EP
"'Crystallize' builds a bridge between all imaginable varieties of electronic music. That includes Industrial as well as Power-noise -- rhythmic noise and Nora Below's favorite music style. On her debut 'Crystallize' she rocks with her Atari and the resulting sound isn't always easy to digest. But as you adjust to the sound, you will discover the special charm of Nora's music. On 'Crystallize' it unfolds between electro-synthie-modulations and the secrets of the night. Alienated vocals, accompanied by her electro sound, remind you of 'Horror in the Skyscraper'. Nora Below has her fun with it."

Artist: ALLIEN, ELLEN
Title: Weiss.mix
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 047CD
"On Weiss Ellen Allien devotes herself to her own musical preferences and inspirations from the past as well as to current musical tendencies. The result is a DJ-mix full of variety, which is very explicitly mirroring the DJ´s profile. It`s a statement for openness and flexibility. Ellen Allien doesn´t have any kind of dogma. All tracks are forming a unity of equal relations. The combination of experimental styles with more conventional creates the unique flow, her very personal style with some space for surprise. Weiss is a surface for projecting the network structures Ellen Allien works in: the Bpitch spectrum covers 'sound', art-work and the product. On the other hand she is working hard as a dj. That means you have to be open towards new styles without losing your own identity. One has also to be very selective. In the mix Ellen Allien sticks to clear and sharp cuts while leaving enough space for every track to convey its massage. At the same time she once again proofs her dj-skills." Artists include: Closer Musik, Kiki, Redshift, Sylvie Marks, DJ Maxximus/Something J, Andrea Parker feat. DJ Assault & DJ Godfather, Squarepusher, Feadz, Cex rmx vs. Electric Company, Ellen Allien, Akufen, Archetype, Otto Von Schirach, Phoenicia, Mono Junk, Apparat, Modeselektor, Electric Company, Superpitcher.

Title: Kollective 3
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 048EP
"Bpitch Control up-date for your ears. With the 3rd 'Kollektiv' we take a look on the label's recent work. The emphasis lies on the two sides of the axis Paris with Feadz and Eedio and Berlin with Modeselektor and Sascha Funke. But soon you will discover that every artist has a completely different concept with lots of surprise."

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Brennt
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 050EP
"Using 'Brennt' ('burning') as a synonym for a Paul Kalkbrenner record suggests itself. It seems he reserved this title for a very special occasion. 'Brennt' sounds like a new variation of Kalkbrenner`s sound-spectrum, which used to be based on a constant continuity as it was last seen on 'Zeit'. Is Paul Kalkbrenner now looking back on his output with an rather relaxed laissez-faire-attitude? In this context the title track presents itself the following way: the tight woven sounds create a new kind of atmospheric deepness -- a cross-over of straightness and melancholy. The deepness of the sound is typical for all of the tracks."

Artist: KERO
Title: Busted Berlin
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 052EP
"'Kero refuses to look at electronic music in a well know way.' This is the first statement. With the release of 'Busted Berlin' Bpitch Control got one of the most talented sound researcher on board. Living in Detroit/Windsor (CA) Kero develops his idea of connecting abstract programming with the earthbound pathos of 'Loop-Tech' in a Detroit tradition."

Artist: HOUSEMEISTER
Title: Wake Up! EP
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 053EP
"The new 12" of Justin Berkovi contains 4 hard, dark techno floorfillers! Heavy old-skool techno basslines with dark voice samples will make the dancefloor shake."

Artist: MODESELEKTOR
Title: Death Medley
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 054EP
"The boys of Modeselektor return to their past as passionate Hip Hop and Break Beat fans and DJs without embarrassing nostalgia. It's more like seeing your high school love again and realizing that you still can have fun with each other. The music plays with memories, cuts them in parts, puts them back together in a new way and pushes them with joyful noise and fat beats into the present: '... a huge bunch of flowers assembled of chain saw massacres and sweet honey floating around the edges...'. Because Sebastian Szary and Gernot Bronsert not only rock as if they would chafe their fingers bloody on Heavy Metal riffs every night with a sufficient supply of beer in the name of anarchy. They also create but fragile and hovering sound clusters."

Artist: VA
Title: Gemeinsam
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 055CD
"Cruising together through the Bpitch Control network: no wonder that after three years of label history you still can be surprised by the wide variety of the label's output. Those who still think Bpitch Control works within these old categories missed the point electronic music was developing to over the last few years and still is. Techno as a defining element has become somewhat the new 'zeitgeist'. As we have now arrived in the year 2002, Bpitch Control broadens its musical horizon with not only with the help of friendly related artists from Berlin's music scene, but draws larger circles. Internationality is the new motto. Under the title Gemeinsam there will be also a label-tour to follow. The possible combinations of today's Bpitch Control music seem nearly unlimited and range from abstract electronic music to independent guitar music. That ability to create new impulses is characteristic to every Bpitch Control release as you can perfectly see on this compilation of collected Bpitch Control works. Thereby always looking fast forward -- even though this compilation is more a 'best of this year' so far. The rocking artists are Sascha Funke, Paul Kalkbrenner, Kiki, Feadz, Eedio, Alex Amoon, Tim Tim, Modeselektor, Trike and Barbara Morgenstern. There are also some exclusive tracks by Apparat (Shitkatapult), Kero (Shitkatapult, Bpitch Control), Sylvie Marks (HAL9000, Gigolo) and Ellen Allien."

Artist: MODERAT
Title: Auf Kosten Der Gesundheit
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 057EP
"What do guys like better than their moms, munchin on self-baked cake over their 'rents designer couch and even football itself? Well, playing around on their electronic gadgets and passing around computer files. Then, when even best friends participate and the whole thing develops without a plan chaotically, it must be paradise on earth: 'MODEselektor + appaRAT' aka Moderat. Three nice laptop dorked out boys for whom one would love to bake cake every Sunday as well as wash their dirty football socks. Actually, Sebastian Szary, Gernot Bronsert and Sascha Ring all really don't like football, rather ping pong where you can cut and slam etc.. They like it China style, i.e. always moving around the table in a flash. That is perhaps why they make this kind of music: fragmentary pieced together sounds that are played into every corner of the table by the driving bass. In between, you find flirtatious planes that creep into your ear just like when a ping pong ball is cut hard and curves its way over the net."

Artist: MARKS & HAL9000, SYLVIE
Title: Bad Woman Meets Zen On The Street
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 058EP
"Sylvie Marks and HAL 9000 once again let robots and super-computers do their dance: nice conflation of indie-tronics, electronica, and melancholic pop. Her fragile vocals swerve from recitations to singing, thus leaving no desires unreciprocated. 'Bad Woman' bridges another gap: whoever didn't realize that DJ's can sing will now know what's up. Put your hands in your pocket, sharpen your ears, and listen closely. 'Mad Zen' immediately gets more aggressive for the dance floor making you pull your laces tight. Deepness leads the way here along with a driving beat that heats up with heavy elektro velocity. The last piece shifts gears and moves in another direction: the four hits the one straight up and ends up as a gadget-like-dance-floor-buster via Green Velvet, raunchy girls attitude, and British school-girl charm. Nice, you can almost see Sylvie's hair flowing."

Artist: KLOCK, BEN
Title: Tag Der Arbeit
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 059EP
"Tag der Arbeit is the groovy mix between minimal Glitter and heavy basses... it will takes you on the floor! On the flipside Ben Klock shows us his 'Invasion'. This Airguitar-Bass-Monster rules!"

Artist: HOUSEMEISTER
Title: Anti-Gestern EP
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 061EP
"If you ask concretely what Anti_Gestern means then Housemeister will answer: 'simply looking straight ahead, without further making formulations, leaving everything open. It's not against retro, but rather pleading for newness while not forgetting the original feeling of Rrriot on the dance floor.' 'Einfach.Kicken' sounds exactly how one might imagine Housemeister as a person: an independent ball of energy where sunlight sometimes emanates out of the stroboscope. The whole EP never loses sight of the dance floor. 'Einfach.Kicken' entertains with little gimmicks, glow worms on acid. It's worth noting lastly that the whole song was recorded as a session. In the middle there is a transition that makes you flip out. Forget the 70s kids. That was yesterday. Today there's Housemeister. And by the way, Dr. Caligari would be thrilled."

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: F.Fwd
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 062EP
"'Just about everything that could be extracted from the bowels of my hard drive has been assembled on this record,' Paul Kalkbrenner on his new release for BPitch Control. F.FWD/ Miles Away follows last year's Brennt strongly considering the quirky computer upgrades and emotional energy Paul puts into his music. Paul's conception of techno is communicated loud and clear: F.FWD/Miles Away retains a well-known model. 'Pure techno,' as he says. 'My music never has a goal inasmuch as I would never do a conceptual album'."

Artist: KIKI & SILVERSURFER
Title: Restless
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 063EP
"'Finnish decency meets Greek indecency' Kiki short and sweet on his new collaboration with DJ compatriot Silversurfer with whom he now shares equipment in the studio right next to the BPC office. It's not an exception that creativity doubles in this case -- the result is an exponential leap forward -- just how we hoped. 'Wasp' with its 'mean' (Kiki) wasp sound declares straight up with a dry attitude what one might think of 'rave' in the new century. Dancers are subject to the soundtrack of the millennium without any chance of putting up a fight. 'Wasp' stings deep and dreamlike."

Artist: KLOCK, BEN
Title: Glow
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 064EP
"The follow-up to Ben Klock's grandios first release on BPitch Control comes in just right. Who ever thinks 'Tag der Arbeit' is impossible to top is deadly wrong. Ben Klock calls 'Glow' a 'spontaneous excursion into rock.' How does that sound? Grandios."

Artist: ALLIEN, ELLEN
Title: Berlinette
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 065CD
"Berlinette firstly draws upon the album title itself revealing Ellen Allien's identification with the city. Ellen Allien has found the key to her Self in this international context when one considers the philosophical notion pertaining to the experience of one's person through a relation to the other, i.e. the quasi dialectic of an I with an Other. She is continuously set in relation to Berlin, especially abroad. Berlinette is thus supposed to reflect this precise experience without any pretense for irony. The presentation of her label BPitch Control also happens this way. Ellen Allien not only delivers the feeling of Berlin city, but also offers her own experiential horizon defined by network structures and the idea of autocracy and independence. Individual systems make way for a tight co-operative in the collective. Ellen Allien allowed herself little time to complete Berlinette. One should under no circumstance understand her second album conceptually. Rather, she is en route searching for a new sound aesthetic that pays respect to her wide interests, activities and of course her personality. The quote 'I demand the complete summary of all artistic powers for the accomplishment of the art work as a whole.' of Kurt Schwitters, the great pioneer of German Dadaism, could perhaps come from Ellen herself. Her artistic approach equally reminds one of Dada: the combination of all possible musical pieces such as text, arrangement, sample, and beat. Here she shows a new face which sets forth what Stadtkind started. However, the principle of minimalism has given way to a more sharpened approach which is more than a kind of experiment in the process of production."

Title: Trashscape Remixe
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 066EP
"The Trashscape Rmxs leave enough space for Ellen Allien to span an audible terrain from her own phantom all the way to her long-time heading the pack for

inspiration. A cross section is being presented through some contemporary tendencies in the large playground of electronic music. America's bootleg and remix wonder child Kid 606 is just as much aboard as Apparat, who is usually busy coding binary emotions, and then there is Raz Ohara, a living hybrid between all styles, like Anthony Rother with his native Elektro realm."

Artist: MOCHIPET
Title: Dim Sum
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 067EP
"Beware -- Mochipet is arriving. Sound games of a higher level continue to emanate from Bpitch Control ready to eat up your ears. It seems as if San Francisco is truly on the same map as Berlin. It's time for maps to be redesigned based on sound fractions of the world. Laptops define the new Esperanto as the production means they are by feeding musical understanding not based on the culture industry or redundancy."

Artist: HOUSEMEISTER
Title: Psycho!
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 068EP
"Housemeister teaches us again what it means to rock. This is no order, to the contrary. It's rather a fast moving follow-up to the Anti-Gestern-EP (BPC061). To put it with a Russian twist: with Bortsch you must also eat at least two plates. We thank Housemeister for his steady drive to move, which has kept him slim and given us the 'Psycho' workout."

Artist: MODESELEKTOR
Title: Ganse de Frau
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 069EP
"Crash course in the history of Modeselektor: Szary aka the perverted Persian and Gernot aka the rambunctious Rumanian -- together you get Modeselektor. Up until now, their two releases for BPitch Control have introduced a new language with words like 'Sound-Hack' through bit-crushing and thousands of other ones. Modeselektor continue to always strike through conventional audio habits with their grandiose Live and DJ-sets in the end of which one often gets to see an entire club dancing the Polonaise in circles with synchronized shoulder leans. Long live ACDC on broken beats."

Artist: ANDERSSON, TOMAS
Title: The Rockacid EP
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 071EP
"Bpitch Control can add another flag to their global map with the import of the Swede Tomas Andersson from Stockholm. Coming from the realm of Andreas Tillander and working as label manager of Average Rec., Tomas aka Sven Andersson develops his own idea of progressive electronic music labelled under 'techno' and made in Sweden consequently."

"All in all: technoid and dry, covered with a sugary coating that we love him for. Paul Kalkbrenner shows us once again his preference for ordered continuity form two angles. 'Steinbeisser' hammers soft dreams into your ear that leave much room for paced synchronized head-nodding and playful eye twitching. Someone say then that Paul doesn't know his master. Here before us we have the personal union with the predecessor and transformer. 'Mundgucci' on the flipside blows away the hypnosis like sand across the dance floor. The harmonies of the strings act against a high-pressure bass line that leave no desires or questions unanswered."

"The Alles Sehen Remixes are the second extraction from Berlinette, the second album from Ellen Allien. They primarily show mutual and respectful touch and go recording for the flow of the originals. The remixes go left and right from where Ellen Allien set a secondary foundation on Berlinette with the abundance of vocals in order to touch on contemporary and, especially, experimental contexts. No one seems to be able to get around the challenge Ellen Allien is setting today: the positive and negative statements about her musical output are being opposed once again."

Title: Brave (The Album Formerly Known As Bravo)
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 075X-CD
Originally released in 2003. Sascha Funke presents his debut album Brave: The Album Formerly Known As Bravo (same as before in terms of audio content, but with a new variant title spelling that only Germans will understand). It's true that the first signs of Sascha Funke's interpretation of techno lifestyles are keywords like continuity, independence, and translation. This Berliner is living a contradiction for all the spaces left in between: a simultaneous demand for pragmatic rationality and emotional pontification. Funke has a sharp nose for pop, even letting coincidence be the basis of the production process. A new belt is pulling techno tight, managing to create further free spheres and independence in the grey zone of creativity and the collective, which can be heard on this album. The fact that he remains himself and juggles his own inadequacies makes his music not only more pleasurable, but also the person behind it all the more transparent. What he calls "rowing with technology" is overshadowed elsewhere by the immediate and pure, aseptic production. On Brave he engages his path safely: that what is usually determined to be the paradigm in techno, namely, a rapid rise on a bolting industry train, he counters not only as a producer, but even as a DJ who works for patience and one's own confidence in personal skill. What's always decisive for him in unsure situations is the dancefloor itself. Short, momentary reactions and the belief that "techno is always that what you make of it" leaves Bravo without competition in the set selection of his record bag.

"On his debut album, Let's Pretend We're Going Berlin-based TimTim develops a set of delicately constructed landscapes, which stride a new path between the label traditions of techno and experimental elektronika. TimTim has paved his own road on the map although: at a crossroads between classical singer/songwriter and bleeping elektronika, he combines both by constructing electronic tracks into songs and a new category arises. This fusion of all categories formulates an approach towards an independance of BPitch Control by TimTim, with a further recess and specialization. In addition, where TimTim's musical socialization begins today, the electronic influences are broad. The categories, which are the foundation of the music world, speak likewise for themselves: beside post rock and punk the electronic avantgarde stands equally on the shelf. This discontinuity of category leaves a fragmentary collage, in which everyone can occupy their own field like Let's Pretend We're Going does. TimTim is a guitarist, drummer and songwriter and has appeared in various Berlin bands for many years. He may play in another league on Let's Pretend We're Going but he finds his own language, which offers enough space to his large musical passions for development. Sometimes melancholic to subtle, the sound is composed entirely by TimTim. And in this, the mental contradiction between song and track is broken up and again translated."

"Paul Kalkbrenner is the cinematic orchestration coming from the BPitch Control camp. Coming off of several short films and two packed evenings of movie theatre productions, he is daring new heights again. Here you have his pilot film Press On which marks the release of his full length film project Self. We were able to obtain a few script exerts through some dark back alleys. Let's try them. (Music on.) 'John 3-21' sets in as our protagonist (P.) open his window shortly after waking up. In comes heavy rain and, for this time of year, way too warm wind. The first breeze strikes the face of our hero with luminous ferocity. (P. goes, the camera stays focused for a moment on the window and curtain.) In this split second it becomes clear that the curtain cloth, which blows rhythmically, is consistently finishing the same soft movements. A feeling of estrangement yet also melancholia and entrapment start to seep in."

"We proudly present: His excellence Kiki's fifth masterpiece at the imperial court of the Bpitch Control dynasty. Onward minstrel, let us hear his story. Kiki, in his saddle, on a bank. Below him in the plains and above him in the skies the powers are blustering, in expression of his inner engorgement. But in this hour in between darkness and light, two souls are fighting in his chest. The augurs have always been forewarning him for the 'Age of Cancer' he was born in, an extremely sensitive zodiac sign urging towards the outside with heart and soul. Only through wise demure he would be able to direct his reign into fruitful paths, he was admonished by the sages. So in the daytime he induced to build dikes, to reclaim new land and to erect buildings of symmetrical shape. Linear routes were drawn through his kingdom."

Catalog #: BPC 083CD
2009 repress, originally released 2004. "Self is the new full length film of the BPitch film buff Paul Kalkbrenner. After numerous short films, lastly the 'Self-pilotfilm' entitled 'Press on' (BPC 81), he presents with this work his third movie theatre production. We received script extracts through some dubious connections. Curtain opens. (Picture black/white. music on: 'Page one'.) Our protagonist (P.) steps out of his run down building onto the street. He sets off in a certain direction without hesitation. After a while, he stops one more time to think and looks up to his window on the upper floor: it's closed. No turning back, P.'s search can, no it must begin. (Camera turns from the window to the street. There is an accordion player, ending scene, over.) (Music on: 'The Grouch') P. walks through the city focused yet shaken. The objects stand there in a special light. We perceive them with an almost anxiety-stricken form of clarity. P. acknowledges them. One can sense his thirst for impressions. He stays however in a cocoon. He builds his own world around things without affecting them in their integrity. (outro with: 'The Palisades'.) (Music: 'Press on'. hard cut: total shot and close ups of P.) Next to the river lie huge planes filled with monumental structures. No people, just warm, rain-drenched dew. He steps again unrestrained through intimate small alleys. (Transitional music: 'Castanets.' People hush, faster cuts.) Here rampant life rules. Everyday P. appears however in a parallel universe. A cat and mouse game follows with his own shadow. It's a kind of constant flux of various possible P. personalities. ('Queer Fellow'.) (Music: 'Marbles,' then 'Since 77') Finally some quiet sets into P.'s restless search. He stops at a park to think. His gaze stops with the sight of children playing -- an almost lovely moment. An accordion player sits on his own bench yet again. Now his music reveals its total Janus mentality: difficult to say, whether it gleams a happy sensibility or one of mourning. Everyone must find their own Self: the end is uncertain. (Music fades out. The fog rises.) It's getting a bit cooler; P. closes his jacket and disappears in the dusk."

Oh ah .. á la Feadz, a look at the 3-star cooks kitchen: in a choosy and centered way he lets his eyes fly over the groceries lying around. Unerringly he reaches for the piece of beef of his choice. "Increased coherence is the central theme on Smash TV's new album Bits for Breakfast. Multiple sound designs settle here on so many levels of meaning that only the word, synthesis, is left for getting the sound of Bits for Breakfastdown on paper. The conscientiously minimal construction of tracks is only one side to many possibilities. They are being intuitive by standing at the edge between a hypnotic vacuum with a steady bass-line and digital vocals that are then triggered. In contrast there is the working process of Smash TV: the golden thread of the album is sewn with thorough and rational Cut & Paste techniques based on memory and snippets of experiences. This is actually how Bits for Breakfast sounds: a presentation of a musical spectrum that is fully able to go against time in flight along with the knowledge that there is always more/ there must always be more. In the beginning it might sound like Elektro, and Raz Ohara takes apart your ears in the opener 'Queen of Men.' In the end, he blows such soft bubbles on 'Can't Wait to Operate' that it would be so nice to be covered by them."

"It's always moving forward with Sascha Funke at BPitch, now with his latest maxi. On the A-side, 'The Intimate Touch', and bringing up the rear -- as the postscript to his album -- the remix of the title track 'Bravo' (BPC 075) from Alexander Kowalski. Three dimensions on two sides of vinyl. Still between emotion and rationality, Sascha 'Techhouse-Hase' listens to the first of until now unheard beats, as the Techno-House turns suspecting. To this piece he has his own game: he means to escape from the traditional drum computer sounds, as well as from the light coming down from the treetops. Now he hops light and funky from shadow to shadow. Between the sna
pping switches, and the driving harsh calls he grabs still, compact melodies."

Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 094CD
"It seems to have been great fun for Ellen Allien while preparing her new mix-CD My Parade. For this time she strikes with a good deal of stereotyped thinking. Where with her two albums Stadtkind (2001) and Berlinette (2003) she as producer set a concise mark in the electronic scene, and now follows the continuation of her mix range from a parallel perspective. Which with Flieg mit... (2001) and Weiss (2002) is a counter project for a firm adjustment with ambitions on a certain sound. In order to know however what makes Ellen Allien exactly now Ellen Allien, lets call it taking a break from the here and now. Confidently a clear statement is to be heard from her in April 2004: 'I love techno! Club me, I club you! Dance with me, Break with me, rock with me -- in the end techno is my only friend. Dream girl, dream boy..."

Title: Run With Me
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 095CD
"Kiki, a native Fin and immigrated Berliner, is an international DJ. He has been producing music for BPitch Control since the last three years. He is presenting his first album Run With Me following five EP's. It's full of strings vs. static sound, hard beats vs. harmonic aesthetic. We imagine it as if Kiki were some sort of Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hide. He is thus pulling together his main influences for this first album. The track mentioned before is not only first on the album, but it also stands for a beginning. This is the sound Kiki had desired in the days of his school band. He listened to Kiss and loved the darker side of David Bowie. Today, the following text may help to dispel the apocalyptic title: '...end of the world as we know it.' This is to say that things change and Kiki regards this with ease and curiosity. It seems to be quite the natural position for him since he sings this line, like all the others, rather spontaneously into his recorder. Writing just doesn't do it: Kiki is well-schooled in the realm of hip hop, rapping, and DJing. He even utilizes an old drum-tape from the old days for a groovy track 'On the 140th day.' After many attempts, Kiki finally moved to Berlin some ten years ago only to find happiness. Here he heard a lot of Detroit and local Berlin sounds. His hook lines come from spacious echo frequencies and from mystical Morse code that the city of motors is known for. He appreciates off-kilter melodies and floating dub hi-hats just as much as violin strings made for film music. The throbbing beat and driving bass rarely go away. Run With Me is a call in the direction of the dance floor. There is a picture in Kiki's head in relation to this creative mix: the way wind and weather breeze by him strolling with his Walkman along the beach in Helsinki. Perhaps this is why the underlying melancholic sound pervade the basic vibe. It's for sure, however, that the over-arching vision coming from these diverse sources of inspiration unite under the title: Kiki's 'Big picture'."

Title: Krazeee Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 096EP
"The original version of 'Krazee' has its own separate history: Rather minimalized instrumentation in the classical structure of a track. Long-pent memories of disco nights of the past, ecstatic dancers on flashing dance floors, and extremely compelling sounds are released. Along with the combination of glitzy surfaces and twirling windmills, all are bound together, following the march of the beats. Showing techno always pulling itself by the hair from the darkness. In the remix it becomes essentially experimental, snappy and more playful, although the beat takes over the orientation here. However, the beat is added intractably to the whole, more so than with the original. Resting a bit offbeat is perhaps the strongest of characteristics already known from Sylvie Marks and HAL 9000. Steadily emerging are synthesized flutes camouflaged as gimmicks, -- sworn staple of large acts -- only however to ring in with the vocals of Sylvie to make out the sense. How does she sound on the other end of the telephone, 'are you still there? / Anyone out there?', but so loud that she does not hear the other one at all, and perhaps doesn't care to. The disturbance is raised to the point (sleep can wait til another time), and the noise holds all attention. Thus, perhaps one doesn't want to but can't help but hear. In its entirety, the remix is a decidedly slower tempo, however, one tapered synchronously to the messages from another world, ending with DJ friendly suspense. 'Wir Sterne' makes clear with its alarming entrance, how one can imagine Sylvie as a tipsy steering Barbarella in a rolling orbital glider. Clearly how near HAL 9000 at HAL 9000 (the revolting supercomputer from Kubricks Space Odysee 2001) could be so real. Sylvie seems to have the look of being intoxicated with power from the window, onlookers comment. Now and then system overload warning flashes, but at this point the acceleration is the option chosen, rather than slowing down. Again in five minutes is packed here the slightly offbeat audio canal, whose perception saturates the senses, until the plug is ripped from the socket. HAL 9000 (the genuine) would certainly have begun to dance."

Title: Krazeee
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 098CD
"With their debut album on BPitch Control, Sylvie Marks and HAL9000 tell an audible tale: a tonal cross section of their life experiences, which is coupled again and again via the click of the bass to their reminiscences. Thus music was/is always the common thread of the Ariadne -- for both -- that through the labyrinth of life made expressiveness the chief premise. If Sylvie Marks surprised her piano teacher in former times with improvised playing, this is very much a characteristic, perhaps she is just compelled to do so: by her many years of experience with the structure and apparently unlimited possibilities in the field of electronic music (everything goes!), she exchanged the fixed limitations of improvisation freely compared with the status quo. In this sense one finds that in Sylvie Marks and HAL9000, this path is traversed all over again, which translates today as a variety of perspectives and a real 'being into it'. With their first album, they composed Krazeeee, which clearly suggests them to be like the original maxi of the same name. They enlighten the traces and origins of techno, which are distinct and thereby steer a sure instinct for the substantive beat. Both do not forget to present however the diagonally unusually picturesque gesture, which with each of the releases already provided on the 7" Label of the same name, HAL9000 makes for pure joy: a bit off-beat, slightly disturbing and the sideways swimming of sounds and pictures, these developments leave all control to a straightened-out bass line. Along with the already long list of past publications, the publication of Krazeeee on BPitch Control demonstrates, how very much Sylvie Marks and HAL9000 must have sharpened their musical vision over the years. With 'Baby take me a little bit higher' (BPC037),'We electric' (BPC051) and 'Bad women meets zen on the street' (BPC058) the two play about on BPitch Control. As well as on Ellen Alliens' 'Weiss Mix' (BPC047) the two already collaborated some time ago with 'Baby I'm Electric'. The fact that Sylvie Marks has a friendship of many years with Ellen Allien is to be suspected. Thus it is now time to burn -- and to let burn."

"Modeselektor are those guys from Berlin who are always up to no good, releasing their fourth 12" on BPitch Control called Turn Deaf BPC099. Lets wait and see if Thom Yorke, who claims to be a fan of their music, can handle this one! However, Modeselektor will continue to put out the records that will make You beg for mercy, that is for sure. The long expected Album will coming next year -- watch out! Plug in -- turn deaf. What´s happened to my ears? This is the way it is! Kicking in the Bass first and then... oh damn!! It's all twisted again! Ok, reeboot: 'Bing!' Now we've got it: Ass, titties, ladies, gents: 'Shake it!' The scales are all fucked up, but hey; who cares!? Five minutes to jerk off to, ahh, sex can be so easy and it sells as we all know! Sweating, we continue to rave on with the Modeselektor Acid-trance-vestites from the 'New Berlin Loft' -- speed dreams are made of these. A symphony in Bass making knees knock for elastic dancing, plus a timing that never/ever misses a beat. 'Kill Gates' (the use this patch immediately version) is the sociocritical part, dissing the rich and spurring us needy people on to rage on the dancefloor. Those two construction worker -- freaks are laying massive bricks made of Breakhop-Beats on us, forming a sculpture-like Questionmark!? Nobody will ever be able to explain the meaning of this track covered in depth of the feared dub-mudd. The simplicity of the sweet little melodies on 'Modeselektors Rave anthem' (UPS- Version) is just fake in order to kick the living shit out of the ears of any innocent bystander with their typical binovular stylee. This track was used by their Label patron from BPitch, Ellen Allien, for her new mix-CD My Parade played from the dubplate. And because Mdslktr are madly in love with the Track 'Numb' by their fellow BPC artist Tomas Andersson they jammed it up in the end with their own Track, forming a bastard-like fusion of Tomas' and their genes."

"The new Tomas Andersson 12" is a present on the occasion of the 100th release of Berlin based label Bpitchcontrol. The producer, Tomas Andersson from Stockholm, who used to DJ and organize parties, congratulates the label with his 4th upcoming release. It will also be the first release of BPC in 2005, his debut album is also planned for 05. Tomas Andersson's track 'Numb' from his recent 12" on BPC was played over and over in the clubs and Ellen Allien used it for her recent My Parade mix CD BPC094 and Modeselektor were so deeply moved by it that they used a sample of it for their new 12" Turn Deaf BPC099. The BPC artists have prepared a tasty meal on their gas stove, and all of that will be presented in February on the upcoming BPC101 anniversary-compilation release and matching tour both called 'Camping'. But first of all 'Festivities': A partycrowd on its way to the 'Birthday Party', the magical mystery Tour-Bus is riding through the night, swinging and singing. The bass from the subwoofer is about to make the windows crack. Inside the bus there's a lot of action going on, not clicks and clacks, but whoomps and stomps accompanied by a joyful earcandy melody. The damaged door is rattling in tune. They arrive at the location and the bouncers are looking very grim, but as the tune 'Congratulations' is still blasting out of the system there is no problem at all. All of them pass through the entrance and are provided with a serious amount of free-drink-vouchers. The main floor is starting to fill up and as the first notes of 'HappyHappy' kick in there is no turning back. The flickering noises over a straight beat are driving the dancers mad, and then Calimero, the little acid bird, starts chirping over the track. There is no doubt, another missile from Tomas Andersson has hit the dancefloor. If you'd like to be a star for one night, this is the night, so get up on the scene to get down on this beatmachine."

"At night on the camping ground. The people on Your lefthandside are listening to the radio. In the distance near by the showers somebody is singing German Schlager music, rather out of tune. It's high time to reveal your treasure: the BPitch Control release number 100! That was fast! People shaking their heads in disbelief, while you toss the CD into your boom box. The first Track, no doubt, it must be Kiki. As the air densifies, and the space deepens, more and more people packed with beers are starting to pour into your tent. They start to dance as the beats get louder, all of a sudden the place has turned into a club and everything is good. How do you congratulate yourself for the magic 100 mark, if you are to young and agile for a sapient retrospective? BPitch Control shows you how! They connect past, present and future with the launch of a new compilation series called Camping. 20 Tracks will present the work of the last 5 years of the Berlin-based label. Not the chronological order, but the timeless flow. After Sylvie Marks & Hal 9000´s elegant pop state of mind catches up with Kiki's dramatic opener, Paul Kalkbrenner aka Mr. Rave himself, follows up along with the typical kind of urban melancholy we love so much about Ellen Allien and Modeselektor. Sascha Funke, Smash TV, and Housemeister's tracks are a fast forward trip towards the dancefloor, sparking tunes, while Thomas Andersson and Feadz turn us upsidedown with their madness. Timtim waves us goodbye with a tear in his eye, but why be sad if you can just hit the repeat switch on your CD-player?! Music as a medium for ideas -- BPitch Control presents its artists as individuals as well as a part of the whole collective in which everyone has his share. This is what creates the attractive force surrounding the Bpitch environment: Homogenity through diversity. BPitch Control doesn't follow trends but instead creates style. Self-sufficient, sometimes humorous but always making sense and never leaving the dancefloor out of sight. Camping bestows us with all of this. Let them put up their tents in your front garden and go outside to live together with them happily ever after...."

Title: So Easy To Forget Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 102EP
Remixes by Ada (Areal) and Kiki! "A sincere 'ahoi' for the 'So Easy to Forget' -- remixes from Kiki's album Run With Me (BPC095). Normally Ada ships her way through the channels of the 'Rhein' around Cologne on her Mothership MS Areal, but the sound of her machines is well known on the Spree especially around Berlin's waterways, since she released her debut-album Blondie just recently. The water is clear and the air is warm on this sunny day as Ada lands on Kiki's dock, with her version of 'So Easy to Forget' still in mind. She has softened the bassline and rounded the harmonies of the android-like chorus. She accelerates with cushy beats against the inner hull of her ship. This sound, combined with the crispy claps of the crew, transforms Kiki's track into a easy burner, while Captain Kiki himself sends Morse codes and other sound signals of the original track from his deck through his seaborne computer, creating an irresistible flow towards the dancefloor, passing through several shell filters to give it the extra ocean touch. With Ada and Kiki on the decks we've got two of the most sought after navigators in the ocean of electronic dance music. They guarantee a cruise You will never forget."

Title: My Computer Eats An Acid Trip Remix
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 103EP
Don't expect to hear some sort of "Soft Parade" on this record. Sylvie Marks and Hal9000 graced their computer a consciousness raising excursion on their album Krazee (BPC 098) with the track "My Computer Eats an Acid Trip." Listen how it came to be that the computers of Tomas Anderssonand BPC newcomer Dexter had to go to sleep. Sylvie Marks and HAL900 were working on a track when they suddenly heard a ringing surprise in their machine. The processor is forced into trouble as the uploaded pieces of the music program run amok. It is thus given a good dose of psychotropic side effects just like the devil would have wanted it. It growled, rattled, and chirped until the screen flickered with a rainbow of psychedelic colors. The computer swallowed calls for help of the sweat-drenched producers and relayed them in a sponge-like call or goat-like whine, ending it all with a laugh. The rhythm maker was the only thing that kept going, encouraging Sylvie Marks and HAL9000 to successfully complete rescue attempts. They decided to write off all drugs after this experience and ended this fiasco by pouring out a glass of water. As everyone knows, acid blocks filters that protect our brain against over-stimulating effects. The trip itself is about determined and relentless information cells pouring in. It's always interesting to examine this. That's why: staying true to abstinence, curiosity is what pushed Sylvie Marks and HAL9000 like never before. They decided to send their mixture with a smile to friends Dexter and Tomas Andersson. It was yet to be determined how their machines would react, virus warnings were supplemented somewhere on the instruction sheet. Dexter's computer experiences a moment of clarity. Look here, this is how it could be today; a crispy clear error message: "There is acid in my system!" and then it marches along with a relentless beat and bass drum. Listen to the angel sounds and strings. This box is floating in heaven! The machine tumbles and gets tipsy, the pressure valves rattle, and a whirlwind blows into synthetic synapses. "Trip!" is what the scratched-up chorus of virtual drag queens yells, falling back into convulsive jerking. Computers on acid: you almost want the experience yourself!

Title: Tech-Tech-Talk
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 104EP
2005 release. "'Tech-Tech-Talk' is Smash TV's most recent prophecy since the liturgical feast Bits For Breakfast (BPC 084). All of this presented on the altar of BPitch Control, in the temple of electronic music. And for those the navel of the world is not in Delphi, but in Berlin! Not until this morning it stood before us, just as back in the days of chiseled stone, nowadays on paper or screen: From now on there should be a hard and a soft continent. A lot of decision makers would surely ask the fortune-tellers, 'how will the interaction work in times to come?', but even in those circles the answer would of course be a mystery. They should have asked us instead, because Smash TV offers the up-to-date answer. 'Tech-Tech-Talk' is the technOracle that can make the quadrature of the circle (also called the Greek synthesis) succeed.'"

Title: Magma Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 105EP
3-track EP featuring remixes from MFA & Modeselektor! "With 'Magma' Ellen Allien sets out to loosen us up for her third album Thrills (BPC106). Everybody will sweat in this small workout because Magma is like a little steam turbine with which Ellen Allien softly digs up the dance floor so that we can dance at the center of the earth, sweating profusely in the heat. Whoever doesn't understand that Ellen turns more than just a few knobs is, so to speak, not seeing the forest with all the trees in the way. Almost fourteen years of techno certainly leave their trace and, one must say of course, they've brought about a bunch of fun and coincidences. Ellen Allien, our magical fairy, steers the techno of 'Magma' with a baddass rowdy voice, like swinging around a wild red flag in order to push the limits of the tube even further. The MFA are the latest BPitch Control import from England. Here they come along with the given relentless six minute mini-rave, just how we know the Brits. Ellen Allien's 'Magma' thus experiences a new limelight. For whomever this still doesn't hit home, they might try to clean their ears and buy some eyeglasses. In the end Modeslektor win over our hearts. They're like the young, almost invisible, friends who take whatever first opportunity and jump out of a pocket to confuse everything like crazy. Once again we don't know what to say about it. We like this chaos because Modeselektor aim to destroy everything first so that they can then change it and frame it up. It's just twisted differently yet again -- drop it like it's hot Frau Allien."

Title: Thrills
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 106CD
Techno-goddess Ellen Allien returns with her third studio album. Teaming up with Holger Zielske (Smash TV) with whom she also produced Stadtkind (BPC 021CD/LP) and Berlinette (BPC 065CD/LP), Thrills harkens back to the dank, dense warehouses of German clubs like Tresor and Detroit basement acid house blowouts. Allien also conducts experiments with new-old units such as the Roland 808 and an ARP 2600 (her new favorite instrument) to produce warmer, more relaxed digital sounds. Thrills connects the dots of 808 State, Gina X and Kompakt. And where Berlinette, her stunning second album, introduced her techno to a wider audience, she now turns around and exposes that wider audience to her techno, raising her stunning profile while alerting the world to the brilliance of her label BPitch Control. Allien has never been more in the moment, never been more relevant. The basslines rise like tides, synth lines tickle like feathers and beats bounce bounce bounce. This is what it sounds like to be modern and mature. This is what is sounds like to be fluid. What it sounds like to rock while standing still. What it sounds like to be Ellen Allien.

Artist: FEADZ
Title: Forward 4
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 107EP
"Fourth time's a charm! And with his latest EP Forward 4 that's the number of times Feadz has now appeared on BPitch Control. Frenchman Feadz is cultivating a musical preference for Berlin -- a town where he needn't complain about any lack of support. 'Feadz and I were both booked for a DJ set in Berlin,' says Ellen Allien about their first encounter. 'On listening to him I couldn't help but notice that he's an excellent DJ. We spent the next day together and walked all around Berlin. It was rather enchanting to chat with him about music and dreams. Then he said that he'd love to produce a record for us -- on which we shook hands! When the demo arrived it literally knocked me off my chair. I'm an ultimate Feadz fan!' With his DJ sets in Brazil, Japan and the rest of the world, the former B-Boy Feadz diverts us with a storm -- from wound-up techno to eccentric hip hop. It's a lovely spectacle when, just for a brief moment, Feadz allows himself the luxury of adding an almost-forgotten electro track to the mix. In spite of his turntable virtuosity he bites his lower lip in concentration before hopping back fleet-footedly to his vinyl case. When he returns home to Paris, Feadz gets right down to the machinery. He happens to be in close contact with his friend M. Oizo, who invited him to do the scratches for his all-time classic album Analog Worms Attack. He also wasn't willing to do without Feadz' strategic advice for his next album. In his role as producer the 'classic' Feadz is impulsive and intricate -- to great effect. The tracks are based on short, rhythmically defined motifs. They are cut up into tiny pieces and confronted with all kinds of imaginable variations and shifts, which always proves to be powerful and effective on the dance floor. Even though it sometimes doesn't sound like it, Feadz' tracks are in 4/4 -- so let's count in...One... : In 'On All Fours' Feadz plays cat and mouse with techno -- in this trap the cheese just keeps getting more and more ripe and stinky! Two...: 'Resurector' offers some groovy, slippery hip hop with melodies from the slot machine that are mixed with some lively, serrated electro parts. Whoever can explain to me how Feadz managed to mix this all together so neatly gets an ice-cream! Three...: 'Uffie & Me' culminates in a wound-up ragga-beat hymn with a euphoric keyboard curling around it like a festoon. Four...: On 'Truc Tendu' one way-out rhythm beats the next! This mind-expanding puzzle catapults us right to the doors of perception. But as the doors fly open, Feadz heads once more into a completely different direction to then land with some four (and more) letter words back in his very own BPitch territory."

Title: Washing Up
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 108EP
"Why bother compromising? Why make concessions to a half-baked track that incites you to almost uninspired dancing? That definitely is not the case with Tomas Andersson's fifth EP Washing Up, which makes a clean sweep with his energies. This track makes you happy. It wants nothing more than to drive it home -- yet it's always up to a few tricks. Full-on euphoria via uncompromising techno with a backward glance. It sounds retro as it remembers the golden era of acid with a misty-eyed smile -- but with today's knowledge in mind. This is how we have known Tomas Andersson so far: the label owner (Average Rec.), remixer (DJ Hell, Sylvie Marks & Hal9000, DJ Assault, Hakan Lidbo) and DJ is a live-rocker who knows how to get those wild feet to make some unruly moves at the first open-air of the year. Washing Up also has a little story to tell: through some twist of fate it landed on the playlist of BBC Radio 1's Soulwax DJs last winter. To this day, people have asked Bpitch Control almost every day about the composer demanding more information. How the track got onto BBC Radio 1 is still kind of a mystery though... Tiga, who has been a fan of Tomas Andersson from the start, wanted to remix the track right away, which he did, as you can hear. On side B he starts out disco-ish and playful, delineating the theme with other devices, before conjuring up a similar bass storm. One more thing: With Washing Up, Tomas captures Berlin today. Tomorrow, or rather in late summer, it'll be the whole world with his corresponding first album on BPitch Control. So make a note in your calendar."

Artist: MFA
Title: Zone Day
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 109EP
"Britain's MFA stand for the revitalisation of rave handling musical history with ease not dissimilar to that of the likes of fellow countryman Tim Wright. MFA is Ali and Rhys, respectively Alastair Douglas and Rhys Evans from London and Wales. Their guitar-driven 'The Different It Makes' (which falls under the category of lo-fi tech-house) was released on Border Community, and then once again last autumn on Kompakt. MFA just recently remixed Magma for Ellen Allien. They see themselves as 'men on an unstoppable mission.' Well, well? but actually, they really are -- and full of zeal in their quest for the perfect rave hymn from the end of the '80s and early '90s. Et voilà? Their 12" 'Zone Break': Disco 2 Break: 'I feel my disco beat / my day break': electro can be a very melancholic affair. This is heartfelt pathos with even more honestly earned bags under the eyes. There are these two individuals peacefully pouring their hearts out on cultivated party-overkill. Hey -- the night has only just begun -- the day before yesterday... 'Disco 2 Break' is a little history lesson for those who were born later. For their repertoire they harken back on their socialisation during the '80s. For one, they know exactly how to capture the feeling of ultimate party fatigue, but then there's also that rare moment of reconciliation with the world on the way home. 'Rinse Time': Hurray! We can finally rave again! All happy, light-footed and charming with those pitched vocals, and smiley faces dancing ring-a-ring-a-roses. 'Rinse Time' dates back to an era when tracks bore official titles like 'G-Force Part 2.' The Prodigy, still wearing gas masks back then, are permitted to rise from their graves to stage a slap-happy St. Vitus dance in cargo pants. Old school! 'Overhang': Step on the gas for this loose and fluffy trance. Here's a shout for the British-lad humour that we so cherish in MFA."

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Ta-Tu-Tata
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 110EP
"Paul Kalkbrenner's 12" Ta-Tü-Tata is finally out, one year after his third album Self and his remix for 'Agoria: Trance!' Such comfortable pads! Melody! And what's more: Dignity, which he takes along into the freshness of summer. Paul grants trance a place of rest, a place to lounge, but also a rhythm that drags you along and hypnotically pulls you onto the dancefloor. Side A 'Gebrünn Gebrünn' is Saturday Night Fever. Watch out -- after the first half, Paul goes disco with the Bee Gees! Side B's 'Ta-Tü-Tata' driving forces weaving structures into the pads. Let's note: Trance is dignity and grandeur and allows one to think of something beautiful. Dignity, which as an aesthetic category means something fathomable the essential characteristic of which is an impression of grandeur and dignity, occasionally even holiness, transcending ordinary beauty. The sublime and dignified is therefore also always associated with a feeling of un-attainability and immensity. It causes amazement, which is connected to awe and/or horror. To Kant, an object is sublime when it evokes sublime ideas within the perceiver. He finds such objects primarily in nature while the mental grasp of the beholder plays a decisive role: 'Thus the broad ocean agitated by storms cannot be called sublime. Its aspect is horrible, and one must have stored one's mind in advance with a rich stock of ideas, if such an intuition is to raise it to the pitch of a feeling which is itself sublime.' (From: The Critique of Judgment)."

Artist: FUNKE, SASCHA
Title: Boy
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 112EP
Sascha's 12" The Intimate Touch, the first since his wonderfully remembered album Bravo from 2003, already foretold Funke's new direction last year. Boy is an experiment on the attempt to be a boy -- again or still. A1: Attempt no. 1 persistently works its way forward, allowing regress to acid and Chicago and still taking liberties on the way. B1: Attempt no. 2 wants to move and drives forward with dry funk and wildly bustling bleeps that so nicely eat into your brain. B2: Attempt no. 3 starts from scratch. Any waste has been discarded. Smoothly thrown-in vocal tatter round the colour scale: If dark and minimal are colours, then purple would be the preferred mood.

Artist: ALLIEN, ELLEN
Title: Your Body is My Body Rmx
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 113EP
"With the 'Your Body is my Body' remixes, Ellen Allien follows the course she has established with 'Magma' and her third album Thrills: Dance, lose control, turn your inside out! Troy Pierce's mix comes across as a calm, minimal version, sprucing up Ellen's elechtech from a straightforward, hypnotic angle. Pierce turns it into a neat dance floor track. All you wanna do is nod your head to the beat to forget where you are. Later on, you might ask yourself what that name on your door is supposed to mean. And of course, the Minus-BPitch Control connection is a welcome revival of the old Detroit-Berlin axis. The original version is the best example for what Ms. Allien has always associated with Hypnotich Elechtech: Straight and clear lines with few distractions and discreetly placed vocals make it so you can (and must) dance with your eyes shut and your ears wide open. BPitch Control label-mate Kiki opens a Pandora's box with his mix and dissects Ellen Allien into tiny slices, which are merely held together by the power of the pads and melodies. What remains is Ellen Allien's voice, which before was more integrated into the sound, but now acts as the track's common thread."

Title: Hip Date
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 114EP
Swedish label-owner (Average Rec.), re-mixer and DJ Tomas Andersson is back on stage making clear how the wind blows -- right across the dance floor. Andersson polishes your ears -- asynchronous, minimal and technoid with the sounds from the zero hour. Techno made in Sweden is just that bit clearer and more obvious: let someone else do the experimenting. On side A: "Stoli Boli" fires away at the dance floor leaving nothing behind but a boiling inferno. "Hip Date" on the flip side turns yet a new page, as a good deal of electro joins the party where the little Jedi dance. If you are not completely swept off your feet after this date with Tomas Andersson, you must have cotton balls in your ears.

Artist: MODESELEKTOR
Title: Hello Mom!
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 115CD
Modeselektor are Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, two bon vivants from Berlin who have been making humor-dipped, musically-exciting and dance-stimulating night-time entertainment for nearly ten years. Among numerous remixes, they have released not less than four EPs at BPitch Control -- this is their first full-length release. Taking the lead in a post-techno parade along a gorgeous boulevard of heavy basses, Hello Mom! works like a sampler for acute/def/contemporary/wicked electronic music blatancy. Modeselektor's adaptation of urban catchwords like electro-IDM, booty house, Euro-crunk, continental grime, ghetto-bass, dub-step and such even get the most bored know-it-all off the barstools. Here's a taste: the record starts with a collaboration with TTC from France, in the manic shredder "Dancing Box," then turns to rap and rave-monsters such as "Rap Anthem," "Kill Bill Vol. 4" and the P. Diddy campaign-named "Vote or Die." "Earth (UPS Edit)" is made of arcane stumbling sounds that wobble just like the planet, followed by Paul St. Hillaire arguing about "Fake Emotions" along with slack bubbling melodies. The Sri Lankan Sasha Perera, singer of the Berlin-Tel Aviv trio Jahcoozi, is featured on "Silikon," a track packed with urban grime. The merrily euphoric finale "I Love You" goes out to all the Moms.

Title: Down RMX
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 116EP
Remixes of "Down," a track off Allien's superb and successful third long-player, Thrills. Miss Dinky from Chile delivers the first deep and brainy remix, rendering the original dancefloor-killer into pure atmospheric groove. Drama Society, the Italian super-dance-bomb, make their track deep and enigmatic -- a black-and-white thriller where deep really means deep, with rumbling and hammering bass. The Paris-based FuckALoop remixes a mean hip hop electronic massacre by TTC and transforms Allien's track into the cinematographic variation of an animated dance night where, in slow motion, even the most complicated moves are made with elegance.

Title: Camping 2
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 117CD
Imagine if Ellen Allien picked her favorite tracks from the recent BPitch Control releases and gave them to you? Well, imagine no more, because Camping 2 is exactly that. One of the world's best selectors dips into her own label for you. These are shining examples of some of the best that BPitch has had to offer in 2005, all previously vinyl-only (excepting Sascha Funke's "Quiet Please"), and here unmixed, in full-length glory for your listening pleasure. As a label, BPitch bridges sounds like a causeway: Breaks, Electro, House, Techno all come under their span. Recent buzz acts like the MFA and Smash TV make a digital appearance, as do stalwarts like Sascha Funke and Feadz. But the real center of Camping 2 comes in three forms, a troika of modern electronic dance sounds. Number one: with Paul Kalkbrenner, underappreciated is an understatement. Mssr. Kalkbrenner makes huge warping tracks that wobble like Grimace, with a rhythm that rocks back and forth until it topples. We also have two tracks from Ms. Allien herself, who of course deserves all the attention she gets and more. But let it be known the mastery of Tomas Andersson -- the jewel of the new Scandinavian sound. His two tracks included here ("Happy Happy" and "Washing Up (Tiga Remix)") absolutely kill clubs dead. Play these in the car, the bedroom or the warehouse and life is easier, things go better and you'll be hopping madly. Of course, the rest of the roster is no B-team. Camping 2 is the latest compilation from BPitch Control, one of the best dance labels in the world, hands down. Or, rather, up.

Title: Sirius
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 118EP
Finnish architecture student and BPitch 4-year veteran Kiki (aka Jokim Ijäs) weaves a pitch-black dress with embroidered sparkling star signs. The two tracks from the depths of the galaxy are entitled "M44" and "Sirius," and together they create pure matter. One is the essence of the other -- its consolidation. While on "M44" Kiki blithely employs '90s synth sounds with a broad and satisfied smile, "Sirius" is a trance-y progression as dense as a nebula.

Artist: BROOM, MARK
Title: Twenty Nine
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 119EP
On Twenty Nine, Mark Broom, legendary techno head and frontrunner in classic, deep and minimal techno since 1994, shows an inclination to add a new soundpiece to the Berlin sonic mosaic. The title track is re-arranged in a grand gesture by embracing electronica and spheric soundscapes. "Together" primarily aims at the distribution of serotonin before it gets to your feet -- but once it does, it lasts. Meanwhile, "Rock n' Roller" is reminiscent of surreal dreams and an acid-driven robot whose four tends to get stuck.

Title: Boogy Bytes Vol. 01
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 120CD
BPitch inaugurates a new kind of mix CD and series. Boogy Bytes is a wholly unique listening experience, with tracks hidden within tracks, making for a free-associative-type ride. Even the cover, a snapshot of Kiki, frozen in time while shaking his head by Axl Jansen, is a new sort of animal. The techno-centric Boogy Bytes Vol. 1 has 16 indexes, but really it has 25 tracks, all digitally spliced and bifurcated, then layered on top and within one another like a fine Finnish pastry -- as when the elephants from Andre Kraml's "Safari" trample through Donal Tierney -- or when the vocals from Kiki's "The End of the World" climb over Guy Gerber's "Stoppage Time." Born in Helsinki, Kiki himself was a young hip-hop DJ, and can regularly be seen on 3 turntables, so this blending comes as second nature. His well-received Run With Me debut ("Glamorous" -- Simon Reynolds) was a precursor to this astonishing project: an expertly mixed, delicately balanced, ever-so-gradually ascending technologic delight. From start to, well, Finnish, the 16 or 25 tracks don't take you on a journey as much as they teleport you to heaven. Perhaps it's a kind of dance music soufflé, and Kiki is DJ Julia Child. This thing is literally next level(s).

Title: Hello Mom! The Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 121EP
Modeselektor are Berlin-based Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. This release features remixes of all the vocal tracks from their hot dance debut, Hello Mom!, by artists like Sleeparchive, Siriusmo, Dabrye and XXXX. Sleeparchive bans all the vocals by French rappers TTC from the original "Dancingbox" into silent exile and builds a massive-sounding carcass for DJ experiments of all kinds. Siriusmo lends an electro funk remix with the voice of Sasha Perera (Jahcoozi), and it's big fun even as a sitting dance. Dabrye's remix of "Fake Emotions" with Paul St. Hilaire serves up deep basses lit up with Jamaican structural designs. The last track: an anonymous remix of "Silikon." Grime will never be as it has been before, not after this piece! Who is really behind this fantastic techno track cannot be disclosed.

Swedish label-owner (Average Rec.), re-mixer and DJ Tomas Andersson appeared on almost every "Best Of" list in 2005 due to his fantastic "Washing Up" (Tiga Remix). In 2006, he pushes beats that forge ahead and ahead and ahead. Canons of cheeping high notes and growling low notes safely flow to the harbor. The snare rocks with no mercy and finally dismisses the dancers into the morning with a last drum roll. Tomas Andersson confirms his reputation as a rocking dandy who is looking for the next ship that takes him to the dance floors of the world.

Title: Orchestra of Bubbles
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 125CD
Are you ready? Two of the brightest stars in the dance universe are about to collide, the gamma-ray burst is already being felt in the future: Ellen Allien and Apparat are releasing a CD together. Allien, the head of the BPitch Control aesthetic steamroller, teams with Apparat, partner in the Shitkatapult brand empire to develop a remarkable sonic salvo. Orchestra of Bubbles is what it's called, and it might be the road-trip CD of the year -- 11 tracks of the most delightful, uplifting electronic music you have ever heard. "Turbo Dreams" introduces you to the partnership with guitar licks and metronomic precision. In "Way Out," Allien's vocals coast atop muted acid breakdowns. On "Retina," contrabasso parries with string pulses. Circuitry splits open, beautifully as a time-lapse tulip, on "Jet." "Floating Points" levitates the ears towards the second movement in the orchestra where "Under" begins the dubstep-style transformation. "Edison" is a kind of Asian filament-funk. "Leave Me Alone" finds Apparat on vocals, crooning in a shoegaze style. "Do Not Break" will give you the chills - a manifesto of neu beat-scratching technique and syncopated splendor, while "Metric" is grime with a string section. And Ellen's final vocal contribution, "Bubbles," is a perfectly lovely epilogue. The orchestra is warming, draw the bubble bath. Are you ready? Sure you are.

After his releases on Memo, BPitch Control's new sub label, Ben Klock once again pays homage to BPitch Control itself. Skillful as usual, the Berlin-based producer and DJ reduces the music to its essence. A straight line is upheld throughout all tracks, without getting watered down by clicking sounds. Dark bass sounds and the combination of deep and upbeat breaks speak of grand nights at big clubs where the party goes on and on and on...

Artist: FUNKE, SASCHA
Title: In Between Days
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 127EP
With In Between Days Sascha Funke shows us his minimal techno side. "In Between Days," the A-side, is like a blare of trumpets that stretches over almost 10 minutes and builds up again and again while spreading into all directions. A trancy dream where courageous knights fight dragons and beasts to protect their princess. "In Between Ways" then follows with a really catchy tune that wanders through different synth sounds and themes. "In Between Gates" brings you back to reality. The dry and groaning beats and the straight line qualify this track as a perfect techno tool.

Artist: FUNKE, SASCHA
Title: Boogy Bytes Vol. 02
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 128CD
The original gangsta, Sascha Funke, pops the glock for Boogy Bytes Vol. 02, the second in BPitch's new immaculate mix series. Funke has been around the block more than once, with releases on Kompakt and BPitch and remixes spanning from Telepopmusik on Capitol to the très chic Crosstown Rebels. So you know his selection is off the hook and his mixing skills are off the chain. So what do we have here? How about undaground stunna Sleeparchive back to back with the mighty Derrick Carter? How about man of the hour Trentemoller into DJ Koze's genius pop project International Pony? Or, I mean, Villalobos remixed by Isolée? Done done and done. Funke has an ear for melody and a tongue for tart beats and it is no more evident than on this lovely mix. The dancefloor is just the beginning for Mr. Funke, the first chapter of a night that does not end until sunrise on the rooftop. For this, we have the special treat of Phantom Ghost (whose Mayer/Thomas remix is an all-timer) with "These Days" -- a brilliant cover of the Jackson Browne classic. Thanks Sascha. Thanks.

Artist: ALLIEN & APPARAT, ELLEN
Title: Way Out
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 129EP
Another single from Ellen Allien & Apparat's album Orchestra of Bubbles. On the A-side there is a dance remix of both artists that really cracks, vibrates, accumulates and then explodes. A2 is a remix by Robag Wruhme of pure dance music full of cut-up broken beats -- jazzy, bouncy, that turns body and soul into a steaming pot. The B-side features two tracks otherwise only available on the CD version as bonus tracks. Where "Rotary" can be described as a perfectly built-up dance track with fading keyboard facets, "Sleepless" has more song characteristics with drums that sound like dirty Rock 'n' Roll. Ellen Allien's smooth vocals turn this composition into a track we could listen to all night long.

Artist: SMASH TV
Title: Yellow Asteroids
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 130EP
This new Smash TV release, Yellow Asteroids, will make the soundtrack to all the upcoming open air festivals and summer parties. Holger Zilske aka Smash TV enchants with two tracks that are actually just one: one musical theme, two variations. Generally, Smash TV's sound has become more compatible for DJs, more danceable and deeper over the last few years. The A-side bears a typical Smash TV melody, carried by a squeaking and pushed-up synth sound, sneaking with wary steps into a straight and upright 4/4 beat. The synth then disappears when a protracted break comes in, almost painful in its length, then reappears with a new drive to ride on to the very final moment. The B-side brings shifted beats and rhythmic effects, letting the track bounce -- moving hips, alright. All in all, Smash TV gets closer to his goal of filling the dancefloor with tracks of substance and self-reliance.

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Keule
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 131EP
Paul Kalkbrenner presents tracks on Keule that are not as snappish as in his younger raver years, but frizzle and sizzle and kick you right in the face. Side A is a plain techno classic -- dry, clicky beats, minimal synths, a cool break, but also hypnotic and catchy -- it feels like a flashback to your first rave. Side B is rather playful. "Atzepeng" is a 4/4 beat and a synth bassline that is catchy from the very beginning and grooves with an incoming second melody. Very jazzy and dancey. "Freund Blase" doesn't waste time but kicks in right away. An incoming melody mates with the beats, gets wild with them and then withdraws to let them stand alone and grill you up -- Paul Kalkbrenner as the barbecue chef of the summer months.

Artist: KIKI & LEE VAN DOWSKI
Title: Bpitch Control Collective Vol. 01
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 132EP
Collective Vol. 01 is exactly what the word means -- a collective. A small one -- but size doesn't matter, right?! A collective is the perfect solution for producers who only produce A-sides and can't convince themselves to put those on a B-side. So therefore you just mate up with someone who is in the same position and release a record with two A-sides. This is what Kiki and Lee van Dowski did -- thank God! Lee van Dowski's sound, influenced by classic British Warp and Rephex electronica, goes well beyond complex patterns and organic bleeps, connecting with funky minimal techno. And we all know Kiki's hi-energy-tech-house style.

Artist: LARSSON
Title: Automat
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 133EP
This is Larsson's debut EP for BPitch Control. With jazz and funk as a stable musical base, over the years Larsson has committed himself more and more to the joys of straight bass drums. "Automat" pushes with a pumpin' bassline and playful percussion sounds, while the echoes of clicky melody fragments swing themselves upward in trippy unison. "Point" makes synths whine in grand beauty while warm chords gently take us in their arms on "De Luxe." Close your eyes and put your arms in the air.

Artist: CHLOE & SASCHA FUNKE
Title: BPitch Control Collective Vol. 02
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 134EP
This is the second volume of the BPitch Control Collective. Chloé and Sascha Funke had some self-imposed rules attached to the creation of their tracks: each of them had to look for an unfinished track in his/her "not done yet"-folder, that the other one had to finish without alteration of what's already there -- length, plug-ins, beats and lines have to be kept in their original version. "Point Final" (straight techno) and "Hand In Hand" (dub, deep) are two tracks somewhere between a remix and a collaboration -- coated with breadcrumbs by one, and thrown into the pan by the other.

Artist: ALLIEN & APPARAT, ELLEN
Title: Jet Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 135EP
Jet Remixes is the third single from Ellen Allien & Apparat's album Orchestra of Bubbles. The first remix comes from Ben Klock: where beat and melody are twisted equally in the original version, Ben puts the melody in the background and concentrates more on the beat. Paul Kalkbrenner pays tribute to his reputation as a dancefloor rocker with plenty of hi-hat and bass drum -- first-class deep techno. The XTC remix of "Sleepless" turns the more home-listening original into a fine club number.

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: ReWorks
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 136EP
ReWorks is a special, full-length remix CD project, and here is the 12" taster with remixes by Alexander Kowalski and Joris Voorn. Kowalski focuses on a straight-up dry bass drum, vocal samples, and a reverb that makes you slither all over the dancefloor. Voorn's version of "Press On" combines Kalkbrenner with the sound of Detroit. By the way -- this 12" comes in a limited edition of white vinyl.

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: ReWorks
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 137CD
This is Berlin-based Paul Kalkbrenner's fourth full-length CD on the BPitch Control label, featuring re-workings of his earlier 12" tracks by Wighnomy Brothers, Sascha Funke, Agoria, Ellen Allien & Apparat, Joris Voorn, Alexander Kowalski, Modeselektor and Michael Mayer. ReWorks is a very special project that Paul has been planning for a long time. He asked some of his friends, whom he also very much appreciates musically, for remixes. Paul opened his treasure box so everyone could pick the track he/she likes most and play around with it. The result is a wonderful remix album that not only gives a new touch to some of Kalkbrenner's greatest tracks, but was fun work for the experienced remixers. Wighnomy Brothers introduce us to the record smoothly, but in an exciting way. They crafted their version of "Steinbeisser" without any beats and only concentrated on pure sound. Sascha Funke's "Miles Away" gets down to business right away -- striking beats and a sing-along melody of a reverb synth that, towards the end, builds up to an upbeat peak. The first half of Agoria's remix of "Page 1, 2, 3" is a beat that lays itself upon you hypnotically, and the second half shows off with a great accordion line from the original. The wake-up call comes from Ellen Allien & Apparat. First melodic, swinging beats jump around happily, then break, facet and beat again, in unison with the melody. Joris Voorn's version of "Press On" is a blend of thrilling anticipation and impatience. Alexander Kowalski focuses on a straight and pushing beat of a dry bass drum with a nice reverbed vocal sample. Modeselektor sound like a techno marching band with their version of "Gia 2000," and Michael Mayer is the whispering fade-out. One chord only is enough to set free all those happy happy-hormones that make you dance to the stereo and start this CD all over again!

Artist: NAZCA, PAUL
Title: Nice To Be Here
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 138EP
Paul Nazca is based in the south of France, and this is his first release for BPitch. The A-side, "Ephémère," is old school in the nicest way, that it's like being on your first pill, ehh... techno party again. The track builds up in different layers -- like a Black Forest cake. "Juste," the B-side, starts in full power right away, with stomping bass drums and clicks and hi-hats. Slowly a repetitive synth facet sneaks in and sneaks out -- eerie, trancy and dark.

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: ReWorks 2
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 139EP
This is a pretaster of Paul Kalkbrenner's ReWorks album. He asked some of his friends, whom he also very much appreciates musically, for remixes. The result is a wonderful remix album that gives a new touch to some of Kalkbrenner's greatest tracks. On the A-side is Ellen Allien & Apparat's remix of "Queer Fellow," with melodic and swinging beats which jump around happily, then break, facet and beat again. On the B-side Modeselektor are a techno march band, while Agoria's remix features a beat that lays itself upon you hypnotically, backed by a great accordion line from the original.

Artist: HECKMANN, THOMAS P.
Title: Tangents
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 140EP
Thomas P. Heckmann is one of THE pioneers of electronic music. After he started DJng in 1983, he released his first EP in 1991. In the course of the following years he produced quite a few acid tracks à la Underground Resistance. Later on he got more into techno-house and produced track after track, was engaged in project after project. He has released under various aliases on labels like Force Inc, Labworks, Mute, Djax-Up-Beat and his own labels AFU and Trope Recordings music. Always in search of new sounds, he constantly comes out with something fresh that pleases both the underground scene and the techno mainstream. Heckmann now honors BPitch Control with dance tracks that are hypnotic and dark, with interwoven and weird sounds that drill the straight beat into body and soul.

Artist: KIKI
Title: Trust Me
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 141EP
For his new EP, Kiki adjourns to cinematic regions. Inspired by the great director Wim Wenders (Don't Come Knocking, Paris-Texas, etc.) Kiki wanted to create a musical desert landscape and come closer to the myth of the cowboy and lone wolf. With his two versions of "Trust Me," Kiki plunged into hypnotic sound worlds where the lonesome cowboy scuffles over the sand of Texas -- with his iPod at his belt buckle. The A-side is the club version -- collective hypnosis, continuous beats and synths and sounds in between, where you feel transferred into strange worlds. The "Cowboy Mix" is for chilling at home. More melodic and with a slide guitar riff -- a trip into the desolate desert.

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Reworks 3
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 142EP
This is yet another taster of Paul Kalkbrenner's ReWorks full-length, where Paul invited his most dear and most talented friends to remix their favorite tracks. In this version, Kompakt-veteran Michael Mayer presents a whispering intro, which slowly unfolds as a first-rate dance track. Sascha Funke's "Miles Away" gets right down to business with striking beats, a sing-along melody and a reverb synth that builds to an upbeat peak. Wighnomy Brothers introduce us to their version of "Steinbeisser" that contains very few beats at all. Spheric facets and little clicking sounds sporadically appear like stones you skip along the surface of the sea.

Artist: ANDERSSON, TOMAS
Title: Mot Matsalen!/Dubbel Problematik
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 143EP
Tomas Andersson is a quirky genius who turns the controller up and down and on and off. "Mot Matsalen!" squawks and shrills and buzzes all over the place -- a playful laptop-rocker that likes to mess around with sounds. "Dubbel Problematik" starts off in a pretty minimal way, but then voice samples get thrown into the digital mincer and it's a typical Andersson track once more. Tomas' musical humor and the fun he has producing is already well known. Now even LCD Soundsystem asked him for a remix for their new release. Not to mention Tomas' continuous live gigs at clubs all over the world.

Artist: FUNKE, SASCHA
Title: Auf Aix
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 144EP
It seems that moving to Aix-en-Provence for the winter did Sascha Funke some good. Besides an exclusive track for the Camping Vol. 03 compilation, he also produced these two new tracks. "Auf Aix" is dry and hard techno like the people in the south of France like it. "Ey" with its little hobbling beats gets you going even more -- in the middle of the song, there is a break that brings everything to a halt, rewinds it and starts all over again. Vive la France!

Artist: VA
Title: Camping Vol. 3 1/3
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 145EP
Finally -- a new BPitch Control label compilation -- a colorful profile of what's going on at BPitch Control. Each of the artists has produced a brand-new track for Camping -- so everything is exclusive! All the tracks are available on the CD version, and several of the tracks, the potential club hits, are also available on three vinyls. Vinyl 1 has a remix by Ellen Allien of a track by Safety Scissors and a track by Ben Klock, both as a DJ-friendly extended version.

Artist: DAMERO
Title: Happy In Grey
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 146CD
This is the debut full-length release by Marit Posch, the kind-hearted lady at the BPitch promotion counter. When Ellen Allien accidentally heard Marit's homemade tracks, she realized at once that a hidden, colorful flower was growing in her BPitch Control greenhouse! With her album Happy In Grey, Damero brushes the winter in the most beautiful shades... great feelings covered in a warm grey. Peculiarly simple, yet incredibly beautiful melodies are carried by a smooth voice over a sea of fabulous beats and partly clubby, partly experimental sounds. Eleven oceanic ear candies, both powerful and fragile, make your headphones catch their breath. Happy In Grey surfaces the essence of overwhelming melodies and feelings from the joyful depths of the winter sea. In fact, Damero's grasp for stirring sounds is based on a classical music education that Marit underwent first as a little girl in East Germany and later on in France, Italy and the U.S., where she took singing lessons with some of the best voice teachers. At the same time she also collaborated and jammed with different musicians in the electronic and independent music scene in Berlin, namely Apparat and Modeselektor. Now, on her first release, you can listen to the result of all these different influences: haunting pop-melodies and charming dance anthems for the soul! Wrapping Damero's instincts into this great piece of armchair dance music was mainly the work of Berlin producer Henri Hagenow, who polished six of Marit's little grey diamonds. Apparat, AGF, Zander VT, headkit and Nevis Peak also contributed to the brilliance of this album by engraving their musical senses into the songs. Happy In Grey is an extraordinary album that tears up happy eyes and wakes up grey hearts. BPitch Control sneaks a new romanticism into our ears.

Title: Camping Vol. 03
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 148CD
This is the third volume in BPitch Control's Camping series, compiled by the label boss herself, Ellen Allien. Allien shares with us her crystal ball BPitch futurecast: these are all brand-new and exclusive tracks and remixes from the BPitch roster, and 2007 looks ace. Camping 03 features soon-to-come club-smashers and hushed grooves from the likes of Jahcoozi, Paul Kalkbrenner, Modeselektor, Sascha Funke, Ben Klock and Tomas Andersson, just to name a few. Trained masters like Sascha Funke and Paul Kalkbrenner rock next to newcomers like Zander VT and Larsson. And since it's always nice to have guests on board, there are also tracks by Jahcoozi and Fairmont that nicely frame the record at both ends. Even old-school BPitch playas TimTim, Sylvie Marks & Hal9000 and Feadz join in with some fresh cuts. Be aware the imminent club hits are soon available on three slabs of wax -- some as super-class DJ-friendly extended versions, such as Ellen Allien's remix of a track by Safety Scissors as well the brand-new track by Ben Klock. Camping 03 is not only a sampler, not just a yearbook and not just a snapshot: it's a neu world manifesto.

Title: Sleeping With The Lizards
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 150EP
"Sleeping With The Lizards" is a very playful track with poppy and brittle sounds. A synth line that jumps up and down and around with reverb on it dominates the track. Another synth comes in, sounding like a heavy bass guitar that pushes the track from its house-y beginning to a more techno peak. A great after-hour track for happy mornings! My My's remix version keeps the playful mood and adds some trippy elements to it.

Artist: MODESELEKTOR
Title: Boogy Bytes Vol. 03
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 151CD
Oh my god, here comes the two Berlin miscreants, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary aka Modeselektor on mix-duty for Boogy Bytes Vol. 03, the third in BPitch's impeccable and addictive mix series. This is the duo's first official mix CD, ever, and they have well-prepared themselves for the task, with gigs all over the globe, productions with TTC, remixes for MyRobotFriend, Paul Kalkbrenner and Thom Yorke, and a split single with Knifehandchop and Ninjaman. And after having been included on about a thousand mixes themselves for labels such as Discograph, Shitkatapult and Wavetec Records, it's Modeselektor's turn to pick their faves. This is a crazy ride through decades of electronic music, pimped by the finest hip-hop. Almost 30 tracks mixed so smoothly into one hour and so full of push and drive, that only Modeselektor -- the masters of enthusiasm and euphoria -- could have done it. Rather unknown artists such as Germany's Errorsmith (of Smith N Hack fame) and the hotly-tipped Siriusmo ride next to icons like Radiohead and The Detroit Experiment, who in turn, bolster the most gabbed-about artists on this mix, Burial and Spank Rock. From murky dubstep to spastic electro and serious IDM, Boogy Bytes Vol. 03 showcases Modeselektor's universal and eclectic love of music, no matter what style or popularity of the artist. This great mix CD doesn't mean Modeselektor's retreat into the DJ business, it's just a pleasant distraction while they work on their new album and single. Future prediction: 2007 is THE year for Modeselektor. Other artists include: The Panacea, Flying Lotus, Paul Kalkbrenner, James Holden, Bobby Peru, Audiojack, C'hantal, Nathan Fake, Apparat, Robag Wruhme, Female, Krause Duo, Skream, Rhythm & Sound w/Bobbo Shanti, Carl Craig, Jean Jaques Perrey & Luke Vibert, Plastician, Philippe Cam, Teki Latex, TTC, Clatterbox, Mr. Oizo, Marcel Dettmann, u-Ziq and Phon.O.

Artist: KIKI
Title: Joko Tai
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 152EP
Kiki's new release Joko Tai is a fine techno production with tribal beats and a few strange synth lines that stick in your head for hours. The title track consists of two parts: the beginning with a melancholic, dark mood and the second part with a piano sound and fat beats. "Gute Nacht" is a tribute to the 8000 people he played for in Madrid at the Goa Club -- catching that feeling of big space and enthusiastic people.

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Altes Kamuffel
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 153EP
Like Sascha Funke, Paul Kalkbrenner benefits from his temporary stay in Aix-en-Provence. Paul's new tracks are, as usual, first-class techno burners. "Altes Kamuffel" starts off with a soft and trancy synth line, and is infiltrated by a straight beat and then the bass hits your stomach, the clap drills crisply into your sinuses, and the high, playful synth warms up your heart. "Ick Muss Aus Dit Milieu Heraus" is there right away and builds up continuously. Even with a longer break in the middle of the track that gives you the chance to catch your breath, you can't really stop -- more, more, more.

Artist: ANDERSSON, TOMAS
Title: Upwardly Mobile
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 154EP
Tomas Andersson gets down to business hard-style again. On "Upwardly Mobile," different synth lines bounce in competition with each other and now and then, a great elephant bellows and trumpets. "Ofullständiga Rättigheter" is hard techno and perfect for outdoor raves and after-hours. The track title is a Swedish play-on-words: "Fullständiga Rättigheter" (Full Rights) references lower-class restaurants that are allowed to sell beer, wine and liquor... but "Ofullständig" means the opposite and is an allusion to the new Swedish right wing government that wants to tighten restrictions.

Artist: ARWID
Title: Flashback
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 155EP
This is the first release on BPitch Control for Arwid aka Christian Quast. He played his first live acts starting in 1995 with Aural Seduction and later with Propan. His style contains a mixture of experimental and modern sounds, combining the harsh with the melodic so that the result absolutely fascinates. The title track starts off with straight beats and some scattered sounds, but then develops a hypnotic melody that turns into a bass sequence in the middle of the track. Very diverse and interesting.

Artist: FUCKPONY/MATTHEW STYLES & JAMIE JONES
Title: Lady Judy
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 156EP
Fuckpony picks up the origins of electronic dance music and transfers them into the now-world of sound. Matthew Styles, the second half of the label Crosstown Rebels, is a great DJ who digs a rather unmixed and experimental style. Jamie Jones is on board for a version of "Lady Judy" as well and together they hit the hi-hat like there is no tomorrow. The voice on "Lady Judy" is Lil Dirrty Ghetto Bastard -- the ex-street hustler, now house MC and rapper from Philly. That his voice sounds distorted, like being on laughing gas is not just a coincidence -- it's inspired by everyone's darling Judy whose love for that special gas is notorious.

Artist: FUNKE, SASCHA
Title: The Acrobat
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 158EP
Sascha Funke is back in Berlin and moved into his new studio (on the same floor as the BPitch office). Beside working on his new album, Funke also produced a new track for this EP, The Acrobat, where Efdemin contributes a remix for the B-side. Where Funke's version is a rather tidy and sparse track with dry, hypnotic beats, Efdemin's version leans more towards a two-dimensional sound where the transposed synth line with its reverb is up front. Both tracks are perfect for the dancefloor -- even for different hours of the night.

Artist: MODESELEKTOR
Title: Happy Birthday!
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 159CD
After their homage to their moms (Hello Mom!: BPC 115CD/LP) and the digestion of piled-up experiences of their musical freshmen years, the arts and crafts duo Modeselektor release their second album, Happy Birthday!. This record describes the main focus of Berliners Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary: hang out together all the time. Both dudes will become fathers very soon, almost simultaneously -- happy birthday! But back to their labor-pains: After 111 slashings and burnings across dancefloors from Sydney to Iceland, and driven by the ungovernable spirit of gold-diggers, Gernot and Szary holed up in their mobile Airstream caravan recording studio in order to give birth to Happy Birthday!. The conditions of production were slightly adverse, but thanks to digital transfer technology and a mild winter in Berlin, it all came together nicely in the end. The repertoire of Happy Birthday! runs from hard rap with a French kick to dubstep in the broadest sense. New urban word scraps attempt to describe Modeselektor's style: Eurocrunk, continental grime, tech-rap... the list is long. Mr. Bronsert and Mr. Szary don't like to put a genre sticker on their music anyway, so they don't really care. They just do great music, no matter what style. And another good thing -- their tendency to not take themselves seriously is unbowed, so this album is great fun for everybody -- moms, dads, siblings, grandparents, etc. Also features astounding contributions from Thom Yorke, Puppetmastaz, Apparat, Paul St. Hilaire, Otto Von Schirach, Siriusmo and the French rap gang, TTC, as well as a CD-only bonus track from Maxïmo Park.

Artist: ALLIEN, ELLEN
Title: Go
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 160EP
"Go" is an allusion to Ellen Allien's very first track, "Just Let the Groove Go" (1994), using the vocals as the basis for a dark and ethereal new version. Marcel Dettmann still plays the original version in his sets and now presents his own rework. Both versions use the same vocal sample but combine it with different beats -- Allien goes for hypnotic, dry beats, while Dettmann goes for dub-tech à la Hardwax. Both versions will get the hearts flying.

Artist: ZANDER VT
Title: Far From Jaded
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 161EP
Zander VT rises, like a phoenix from the ashes, after a studio burning down, no electricity, nervous breakdowns and copious high blood pressure with the release Far From Jaded. The title track presents chords that are ridden like an old war horse, again and again, never ending. "Jaded" counterpoints with no bass drums but floating, chintzy pads. Techno romance for old gentlemen and young-at-hearts who get lost in the strobe light.

Artist: DUSTY KID
Title: Luna
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 163EP
Dusty Kid (aka Duoteque, Spacejump, Playmate, DJ Paolo Alberto Lodde) presents his first release for BPitch Control. Ellen Allien highlighted her rave and club gigs with "Luna" and the reason why is simple: you can find a straight bass line, polyrhythm, a drifty hi-hat, a playful theme accenting the offbeats and enough space for your own thoughts on it. Tadeo and Lee Van Dowski provide happy hour remixes that will blow everything up.

Artist: KIKI
Title: Dancing Graffiti
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 164EP
With this amazing and dynamic tech-house track, Kiki proves his abilities and understanding for music. Right after the very first moments of "Dancing Graffiti" your legs start to move and your whole body follows. The bass forms the outline and is filled in by adrenaline-fuelled bells and synthesizer. A can-shake commands you to the dancefloor. Zander VT pick up the can and combine it with claps, hi-hats and sirens. Shake that can!

Artist: KLOCK, BEN
Title: October
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 165EP
Cold, dark seasons may come, but Ben Klock has the remedy: forcing you onto the dancefloor until sweat drops down your forehead. "October" houses a groovy beat that pounds constantly for 9 minutes, until the hi-hats come in to give some relief. "Similarity" features a bass line that slowly purls into the 7-minute long tune. The hi-hat pushes everything forward and forward. This track is a must on every MP3 player while going downhill on icy slopes.

Artist: FUNKE, SASCHA
Title: Double-Checked
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 166EP
Taken from his second album Mango, Sascha Funke presents "Double-Checked." Fritz Zander's remix is dark and sober but not simple and minimal. His sounds are rough and he concentrates on the beats rather than playful melodies, while Sascha Funke's original is calmer, more laid-back. "The Ballerina" is demanding and captivating, deep and dreamy. One cannot get the bass line off their minds, and all thoughts of going home vanish into the night.

Title: Mango
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 167CD
This is the second full-length release on BPitch Control by Berlin-based DJ and producer, Sascha Funke. After several 12" releases and remix projects, Sascha presents Mango, a fully-ripe evocation of the beauty of the six months he spent in Aix-en-Provence. Like its forerunner Bravo, you won't hear 08/15 speed-techno with 140 bpm -- but a fresh and direct, catchy sound that is the antidote to boredom. "Mango" and "We Are Facing The Sun" opens the release with warmth and "Feather" makes you picture elves dancing in a meadow. "Take A Chance With Me" builds it up, while "Summer Rain" cools things down. The gravelly-affected vocals on "Double Checked" are sung by Fritz Zander, and other guest musicians include Fritz Kalkbrenner and TimTim, whose sparsely twanged guitar creates a lot of space within the songs. "Lotre (Mehr Fleisch)" fits perfectly into the barbeque: the bass develops like embers and hides behind rhythms and sounds, until Sascha's vocals catch sparks. "Chemin Des Figons" is the beautiful street Sascha lived on a year ago in Aix-en-Provence, and you'll want to walk it again and again. Finally, "The Fortune Cookie" finishes everything off with a strident, harmonic sing-a-long that will fit everywhere, whether you're enjoying a nice day at the park or a crazy underground rave.

Title: Ride On

Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 168EP
A French transplant to Berlin, Thomas Muller presents Ride On, his impressions of Parisian nightlife and a voyage though Europe's metropolises. "Ride On" slowly forms a hypnotic atmosphere until a long, deep break brings us back to earth. "X Nights" invades the ears with an awesome and dark bass line with small details that create a new space within the track. "Puppet's Dream" is Thomas' homage to Berlin's Bar 25, bringing back the spirit of summer onto the turntable.

Artist: CHAIM
Title: Moon
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 169EP
Chaim from Tel Aviv presents a debut that possesses more than one surprise. "Moon" displays a free groove with the help of some dignified effects, making you want to throw your hands in the air. "Wednesday June" is a bit more minimal, with groove that structures itself into a bubbling bass line, dissolved by one of these typically Chaim-melodies, which anchor themselves deeply into the head -- only for catching dreams under the light of the moon, on a Wednesday in June.

Artist: SMASH TV
Title: Locomotive Breath
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 170EP
Holger Zilske isn't a dark horse in the scene of electronic music. As Smash TV, he has always instigated the masses with his ecstatic, technoid live-sets. This 12" really breathes new life into the dancefloor. Both songs consist of minimal, striking beats -- the first boasts elaborate percussion and kicks asses with specially-modulated bass. "Breath Me" gives us the creeps. The accords create an enthralling harmony, which finds its climax within an apocalyptical break.

Artist: ALLIEN, ELLEN
Title: Boogy Bytes Vol. 04
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 171CD
This is the eagerly-awaited fourth installment in BPitch Control's Boogy Bytes series, mixed by the label queen herself, Ellen Allien. Allien describes this mix as "emotional, noisy, trippy, weird and sexual," an apt characterization of her typology of sound that is perhaps more crooked, more abstract or technoid than others, but with a seamless queue of artists that you can't help but be excited about. As a DJ, she maintains that emotional and direct contact to the audience always comes first -- likewise, she tries to anticipate all the facets and interactions of daily life where music is a companion, whether it be dancefloor, airport, studio, office or living room. For example, the bass drum is not set into the foreground, obviously, neither should it dominate the feelings of the listener. Ellen Allien sketches a voyage that consists of a generous arrangement of tracks that allows space and room for the listener's own perception of the music and what he or she might add based on their own mood and experiences. 2007 was a special year for Allien, and also for electronic music "made in Europe" and so, that element resonates within the mix. Between poem producer AGF and Little Dragon is music that is fluid and malleable with club nights and daily wanderings in mind. The riveting cover-theme continues with photographer Axl Jansen's instant-action shot, which perfectly reflects Boogy Bytes Vol. 04: full of motion and emotional. Other artists include: Vera, Ricardo Villalobos & Patrick Ense, Melon, Andres Zacco & Lucas Mari, Seph, Konpiùta, Moessap, Sozadams, Richard Seeley, Lucio Aquilina, Melchior Productions, Friendly People, Damian Schwartz, Sascha Funke, Gaiser and Kassem Mosse.

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Bingo Bongo
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BPC 172EP
Paul Kalkbrenner presents two killer tracks for BPitch: "Bingo Bongo" and "Schwere Ware." The title track moves non-stop. Bundled with a minimalistic, hypnotic groove, the dancer is literally grabbed by the scruff of his neck and given a good shaking. "Schwere Ware" ("Heavy Ware") is a phat stomper and pure Kalkbrenner. There's nothing more to say.

Artist: VAN DOWSKI, LEE
Title: The Last Run
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 173EP
Lee Van Dowski presents an awesome statement called The Last Run. The Geneva-based DJ and producer has releases on well-known labels such as Cadenza, Soma, Dumb-Unit, and Num Records, to name a few. The title track is influenced by classic British Warp and Rephlex electronica, developing slowly and steadily with fat, organic beats. "Rave Da House" rocks down to the ground. The sound is a bit more clean and organized, but for this reason it's totally hypnotic.

Title: Sool
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 175CD
Sool is the fourth full-length solo release (following Stadtkind, Berlinette and Thrills) by the inimitable queen, Ellen Allien. Welcome once again to the Allien world: this one is subtle, mysterious, and minimal. Created in the deepest and darkest of Berlin's winters, 2007-2008, Sool is intended to be a valve, a loophole, a respite from the crazy summers into the introspection and hibernation of winter. This could easily be Allien's most intimate album yet: the sounds of everyday life and snatches of whispers reveal themselves with field-recorded closeness, the beats are as soft and as near as a heartbeat, ambient synth sounds are as long and spacious as an arm stretching across a couch, and everything is arranged in exactly the right place, as in a well-appointed parlor. But Sool also illustrates that minimal is not only meant for private moments, but also for the dancefloor. Some songs clang with an industrial aggression, others throb with a stark intensity, while still others gently coax you onto the floor just to break your heart, e.g. "Frieda," which features Allien's soft, skillful vocals. As Allien herself asks, "...what does minimal mean for me? Minimal is just there. Permuting that, shaping this kind of immediacy with my own hands -- that was close to my heart. A whiff of positive, but nevertheless abysmal energy creates room for the ears." So what exactly IS Sool? Sool is Allien's own personal creation -- a ghostly presence that resides within the objects and architecture of everyday life and everything that is within and surrounds her. Sool is an alluring portrait deep inside the most active parts of the brain and the quietest area of the heart.

"Elphine" creeps into your subconscious and produces positive energy. For Zander VT's remix, the characteristic "Elphine" hook crosses the whole remix theme and pushes the audience straight onto the dancefloor. Troy Pierce's remix is unique, pushed by an impulsive bass line and newly-arranged vocals, taken from the original.

"Get Down" takes it a bit deeper, perfect for the morning, when you might easily dance to this for another eight hours.

Marcel Dettmann's remix is tough and uncompromising, while the Byetone remix takes it all up a notch further, pulling no punches on the dancefloor.

Title: Berlin Calling - The Soundtrack
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 185CD
After the amazing success of its digital release, BPitch Control releases the Berlin Calling soundtrack on CD. Renowned Berlin-based DJ and producer Paul Kalkbrenner delivers the perfect music for this movie, which he also stars in. The film's synopsis: "Berlin electronic music composer Martin (Paul Kalkbrenner), known as DJ Ickarus, is touring with his manager and girlfriend Mathilde (Rita Lengyel) from club to club around the globe and is about to release their biggest album to date. However, all of his plans are thrown out of kilter after Ickarus is submitted to the emergency ward of a psychiatric clinic high on drugs after a gig - a tragicomedy in Berlin of today." The soundtrack contains nine exclusive tracks by Kalkbrenner, including the movie's hymn "Sky and Sand." In addition, the package holds five of Paul's previously released tracks -- among others "Gebrunn Gebrunn" and "Altes Kamuffel" -- as well as a remix of the title track from Sascha Funke's "Mango," also released on BPitch Control. This release comes in a high class digipack and holds, as a special bonus, two exclusive tracks that have not been released digitally before -- "QSA" and "Train" -- as well as a special large sized Berlin Calling poster.

Title: Ondu
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 186EP
BPitch presents the last single release off of Ellen Allien's album Sool (BPC 175CD/LP). "Ondu" and "Caress" get the remix treatment by Chaim and Paul Ritch. "Ondu" has 2 faces: obliging and harmonious on one side, and ruggedly dusky on the other. Ritch chops it up, isolating each effect and making it sleazy, while keeping the spleeny, schizophrenic attitude of the original. Chaim's remix hits the sound carpet with a big beater, turning the hypnotic silence of "Caress" into a whorled disturbance.

Artist: CHAIM
Title: Where Is Jack EP
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 187EP
Chaim presents his third release for BPitch, Where Is Jack. Chaim already defines the direction of this EP with "No Getaway" -- catchy loops, a dry bass line and frisky flats mix it up in unique company. "Meanwhile" reveals a darker side with a rolling bass line and some murkiness. "Rhythm Insurance" displays spleeny effects hand-in-hand with a crispy kick-drum and a vibrant bass, drawing smiles on everybody's faces.

Artist: TELEFON TEL AVIV
Title: Immolate Yourself
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 188CD
This is the third full-length album by Chicago's Telefon Tel Aviv (Joshua Eustis and Charles Cooper), and their first for BPitch Control. Both are great musicians with a sense for the right sound, who have already proven their talent successfully on two previous albums. Immolate Yourself is the result and continuation of a development in their music that was initially started with their previous works on Hefty Records Fahrenheit Fair Enough (2001) and Map of Effortless (2004). The band approach their newer, longer, more intimate synth-pop direction this way: "The record is still entirely Telefon Tel Aviv, but throughout there is a cross-processed filter that makes everything saturated, grainy, distorted, dusty and distressed." Immolate Yourself unites ten tracks with the aim to give the term "electro-pop" a new definition for the year 2009. Although each track has its own story to tell, together they paint a bigger picture that encapsulates the Telefon Tel Aviv sound. Arguably the album's standout track "Helen of Troy" -- a driving, moody and muddled piece, full of '80s aesthetics, vintage synths and low, romantic vocals -- was in fact the last track to be finished and in a way marked the climax and formed the basis of the whole work. With this release, Telefon Tel Aviv make a statement that combines popular dance music with their own darker reflections on the electronic sound universe

The A-side track knows how to get attention with drifting bass lines and a concise kickdrum. "I Tele U Bo" is the king of the ring with a rolling bass line and plenty of jack. "Horadrim" develops an exciting atmosphere by combining smart grooves, hypnotic vocals and skillful effects.

The first of the single remixes of "You Are The Worst Thing In The World" is from Jay Haze, who forms the track into an uncompromising peak-time monster. Gaiser's remix revs up the original with his typical sound structures. Extra bonus track "Your Mouth" rounds it all off, making this record a clear musical statement.

Title: Happy Birthday! Remixed #3
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 191EP
Presenting the third and final volume in Modeselektor's Happy Birthday! remix series. Feadz remixes "Suckerpin," combining the nonchalance of the original with his own distinctive sound aesthetics. Sweat on the dancefloor! Siriusmo takes the theme of "2000007" and playfully combines it with his own beats and pieces -- the result is this pumping and uncomplicated remix. Paul Kalkbrenner divides the original piece into its individual parts, incorporating them into a dancefloor burner, keeping the solid vocals intact.

Artist: ZANDER, FRITZ
Title: Keep Focused
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 192EP
Fritz Zander's first solo EP on BPitch Control reveals his fine sense of rhythm and dancefloor dynamics. "Keep Focused" is a 13-minute epic with filtered chords, dancing sequences and restrained vocals. "Ulrich" concentrates on the hypnotic house groove. "Bertha" is woven into a fine net of vocal-snippets and polyrhythmic details -- the organ recollects classic New York house. Whether operating as Zander VT with Sven von Thülen, or working it solo, Zander always emphasizes the groove -- deep, driving, infinite.

Artist: AGF/DELAY
Title: Symptoms
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 193CD
This is the second collaborative release by electronic/avant-hop duo AGF/Delay (Antye Greie and Sasu Ripatti aka Vladislav Delay, Luomo), the follow-up to 2005's Explode, released on the AGF Producktion label. For BPitch Control, they present Symptoms -- futuristic pop music with singer-songwriter gestures and tons of depth. Continuing on from their previous release, Symptoms is AGF and Delay's musical reality check for a world turned upside-down. Snippets of sociological commentary are woven into a fine net of full beats, dubby textures, and tiny digital sound gimmickry. Greie's poetic vocals alternate between whispered sensuality and keening pop urgency, as the 11 songs try to come to terms with varying levels of emotional and intellectual awareness, isolation, and the apparently limited possibilities of mankind's development. Symptoms is meticulously constructed, with unstable beats, glitchy, metallic pops, pulsating dub-touches and snatches of samples that can sound nearly industrial -- both catchy and challenging. This is future-forward pop music for the 21st century, crafted by two artists that have both left their own indelible imprints on electronic music.

Artist: MODERAT
Title: Rusty Nails
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 194EP
Electronic dream-team Moderat (aka Modeselektor and Apparat) present their debut single release, which is representative of the musical concept of the trio: a polished sound with atmospheric density and driving rhythms. On "Rusty Nails," the undertow emerges after a few bars with somber, radiant beauty without overwhelming the listener with melancholy. Booka Shade makes the track amazingly weightless and 100% dancefloor compatible, while TRG's mix boasts broken, but efficient beats that react well with earthy sub-bass and Sascha Ring's vocal hymns.

Artist: KIKI
Title: Good Voodoo Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 195EP
BPitch presents "Good Voodoo," one of the hits from Kiki's second album, Kaiku, remixed by good friends. Whoever hears the organ sequence and the bewitching vocals from Chela Simone will never forget this track. Jay Haze turns it into a sharp-edged groove, replacing the organ with a piano hook and a driving rhythm. Visionquest (Ryan Eliott, Shaun Reeves, Seth Troxler) transforms the track into pure, driving house. Chaim's remix focuses on the hypnotic interaction between the vocals and the groove.

Artist: KIKI
Title: Kaiku
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 196CD
This is the second full-length release by Finland-born/Berlin-based Joakim Ijäs aka Kiki for the BPitch Control label. While crafting this second album, Kiki became fully immersed in the waves of the creative process: phases in which everything seems clear, but also moments when things appear stuck and one remains uncertain about what step to take next to make a vision come to life. As the artist himself explains, "When I worked on the album, there were situations when I had a very clear picture of what I wanted without knowing for sure how to realize it, so I had to take a short break. Each time this happened I found a solution after a few days that would solve my dilemma. It was as if I had shouted a question into a world within my mind and what came back was my echo with the answer." Hence, it is no big surprise that Kiki titled his album Kaiku -- the Finnish term for "echo." While all the artists who contributed to Kaiku stepped into Kiki's life in a variety of very unforeseen fashions and ways, Kaiku speaks of a maturing process that moved away some of the focus from club compatibility towards a more subtle and personal mood, where memories of last weekend seem to resonate like a gentle echo. Jacking, old school tracks like "Good Voodoo" or floating anthems like "Starslider" stand right next to downbeat variations such as "No Words Necessary" and typical dancefloor bombs like the opening track "Autumn Leaves" or "Mogadishu," making Kaiku by far the most mature and timeless thing ever to come from Kiki. Guest artists include MC Chela Simone and Italian experimental quartet, Pirica.

Artist: CHAIM
Title: Thrill You
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 197EP
Israeli genius Chaim presents three tracks that take liberties with their highly-organized structures. "Thrill You" starts dead-on house-y with slightly lascivious, breathy oohhs and ahhs. The next level features an absolutely compelling mini-melody. "Danceable" boasts sampled saxophone phrases in the wake of house beats, and "We Do" rolls super-house-y, like it was cast from some sort of massive, elastic, synthetic material. The track becomes increasingly condensed until unrecognizably-bent voice samples and rhythmic echo effects are generated. Bulls-eye.

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Berlin Calling Vol. 1
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 198EP
2009 film highlight Berlin Calling, Hannes Stöhr's fictitious drama, is about the up-and-coming DJ Ickarus (played by Paul Kalbrenner), and this is volume 1 of the soundtrack. The film skillfully distances itself from "hip" biopics and instead offers 100% authenticity and classic storytelling. These three tracks by Kalkbrenner form an absolutely harmonious trilogy, perfectly portraying the film's atmosphere: a subliminal, seething energy, and a devouring emptiness, cycling faster and faster around aimlessness.

Artist: ALLIEN, ELLEN
Title: Lover/You Are
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 199EP
Ellen Allien now trips back into the massive center of the club. "Lover" whirs and twinkles amidst subtle synth elements and between the hiss of the fog machine and the whispering voice of the siren. However, there's also a tight bass line, grooving synths, and shakers that add a house-y lightness. "You Are" features a straight kickdrum paired with tribal elements and a forward-rolling synth. Friction enough to sand the last bit of craziness out of ravers' spinal cords.

Artist: MODERAT
Title: Moderat
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 200CD
This is the highly-anticipated debut full-length release by Moderat, the collaborative conjoining of Modeselektor and Apparat. Moderat's formation began back in 2002 when Sascha Ring (aka Apparat) and Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary (aka Modeselektor) recorded an EP for the record label BPitch Control. A short time later, the artists went their separate ways to work on their own full-length albums -- Modeselektor's debut, Hello Mom!, and Apparat's collaboration with Ellen Allien, Orchestra Of Bubbles. Each went on to become successful releases and were followed by two career-defining albums for the individual acts. A twist of fate at the Stadtbad Mitte (Berlin-Mitte City Pool) united them in the spring of 2008, and Moderat was reformed. Recorded at the legendary Berlin Hansa Studios (where David Bowie recorded Heroes) in analog with the help of the studio's vintage tube technology and an old EMI console from 1972, restored especially for Moderat. American software designer, Joshua Kit Clayton, was hired to program a superb reverb algorithm specifically for the recording process of this album. Additionally, during the first phases of recording, Szary and Bronsert bought an EMT Model 140 Plate Reverb on an Internet auction and had to travel to Los Angeles to pick it up. Back in the studio, the Berlin vocalist Dellé (aka Eased) from leading German act Seeed found himself in Moderat's studio room while on a quest to find a bottle opener. There on the spot, the three gents of Moderat finally waved good-bye to the concept of a mere instrumental album and said hello to vocal recordings and the song "Sick With It." At the same time, they found older vocal recordings of Paul St. Hilaire that had been recorded by Szary and Bronsert way back on low-noise 1/4" analog tape. Those recordings are what led to the low growl of "Slow Match." All this encouraged Szary and Bronsert to convince Ring it was time for him to contribute a beautiful set of soft vocals, which can be heard on the moody drone of "Rusty Nails" and on the flickering synth-wash of "Out Of Sight." Seven years after their initial formation, Moderat's self-titled debut makes it sound like these fellas have been working closely together for years -- and the analog production gives these tracks a steady, glowing warmth that pulses and breathes organically. Totally seductive, dark dance tunes that possess an almost tribal disposition for the most intense peak moments. This is a massive debut that unites two of techno's most celebrated acts.

Repressed. Gatefold LP version. Title: Mindre
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 201EP
Thomas Muller presents his third solo release, Mindre. "Rebirth" hides house fragments in a tight beat, tribal-like percussion comes and goes in waves, and the whole thing spirals in dub echoes augmented by spooky foghorns. "String Slap" is dominated by a heavily-detailed beat and minimalistic sound effects. "Music 98" features a twitching shuffle-beat, vocal fragments and ear-decomposing sweeps. "Institute Of Shadows" comes straight out with point-blank, perfectly balanced beats, sensational hi-hats and an offbeat bass.

Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 202EP
Moderat presents remixes of one of the more abstract tracks off their exceptional self-titled album. The Untold remix departs from the norm with a cheeky hook, a tough-as-nails, hammering intro, and an over-driven, monster kick. Noise and melody fragments stick tight to the auditory nerve, and the legs are forced into ecstatic motion. Surgeon's remix features a straight-bouncing beat, enriched with strange, metal percussion. Meanwhile, the claustrophobic spaces and dark melodic fragments of the album version remain intact.

Artist: AGF/DELAY
Title: Connection Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 203EP
This is the first 12" release from the AGF/Delay album Symptoms (BPC 193CD), featuring dancefloor-compatible remixes. Heartthrob aka Jesse Siminski can be found on the "Connected" remix controls with high-climate, softly-rendered tech-house atmospheres. Fritz Zander airs out the opening's misty shroud and sets clear contours with saturated colors. Kiki's version is equipped with a strong build-up and soft house chords. CLP aka Chris de Luca and Phon.o shift the gears down, delivering round, wide beats, subtle wobble frequency and vocals.

Artist: FUCKPONY
Title: Let The Love Flow
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 204CD
This is the second full-length release by Berlin-based American Jay Haze under his Fuckpony alias. Haze is an exceptionally-gifted composer as well as the owner and head of countless labels, projects, and pseudonyms. As a result, hardly anyone knows the legacy of American-style house like Mr. Haze does -- but despite a sense of tradition, his intention was never just to reproduce a well-known sound. With futurism as a conceptual basis, Chicago as grammar, and pop as an abstract embellishment, through the diversity of his projects, he constantly crosses boundaries. The title track features angular, sharp-edged pop you could light a match with, while others illuminate like the lightning of a Saturday night and the pale daylight of a Sunday morning. This album also features emotional house tracks with plenty of kicks and super-tight bass drums, almost sounding as if Haze has discovered his feminine side on BPitch. You could call it house with heart -- an entire album without loops, and samples made from scratch. The horns, the drums, and of course, the dominating piano -- all sustain the Fuckpony vibe, with a gentler re-orientation. Let The Love Flow features vocals by Laila Tov and Chela Simone, who indulges in some genre-breaking soul moments that instantly make your arm-hairs stand on end. Let The Love Flow is a self-contained album with powerful, melodic arches and a great, dramatic understatement of house for ravers in love and for raved-out lovers who are still going, long after peak-time.

Artist: KIKI
Title: Immortal
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 205EP
Kiki's second hit, "Immortal," from his album, Kaiku (BPC 196CD) is remixed and given an instrumental treatment. A reunion with a cellist from Kiki's hometown of Helsinki enhances the instrumental with a wonderful, intensive atmosphere. Kiki's Venice festival encounter with singer and harpist Pirica is likewise fortuitous as she takes "Immortal" to a whole new, hypnotic dimension. Anja Schneider transforms Kiki's original into a modern-sounding hegemonic, DJ-friendly house track. Holger Zilske's remix on the flip is a real stroke of genius.

Artist: KALKBRENNER, PAUL
Title: Berlin Calling Vol. 2
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 206EP
This is the second soundtrack rendering of Hannes Stöhr's film Berlin Calling. Paul Kalkbrenner's Berlin Calling Vol. 2 continues to accompany the protagonists from Stöhr's moving and somewhat tragic depiction while surfacing a humorous and well-spirited undertone. "Bengang" transmits more of a classic house-element with subtle hints of percussion while "Torted" pulls the track's speed, making it an uncompromising energy-booster.

Artist: TELEFON TEL AVIV
Title: Immolate Yourself
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 207EP
Joshua Eustis aka Telefon Tel Aviv presents the second single from Immolate Yourself. Thomas Muller reduces the lush arrangement of the original, leaving out the vocals almost entirely, and creating a surprise when the track crumbles into sonic chaos. Miss Fitz aka Maayan Nidam throws all the opulence of the original overboard, and a dry beat is enriched with sinuous vocals. Ben Klock's remix is stripped back to a resounding, hammer-like beat framework -- minimized for maximum effect.

Title: Fall Into Me
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 208EP
Fall Into Me is the first single from Jay Haze aka Fuckpony's masterpiece Let The Love Flow (BPC 204CD). The track is light, catchy and energetic -- a free-fall onto the world's softest pillow. This is house with soul that is supported by Laila Tov and Chela Simone, whose unique voice combines with Jay's compact sound. Marco Passarani's remix features discreet Detroit elements with a trance-y eight-tone sequence to send you into the realm of dancefloor dreams.

Artist: ALLIEN, ELLEN
Title: Pump
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 209EP
Ellen Allien, the queen of Berlin indie-techno, paves the way for an upcoming full-length with Pump. "Pump" takes a deep drag from the smoke machine and dives into the peak-time. The dirty funk is so dense, her vocals so pitched-down, that the strobe actually feels far too slow. Somehow Detroit, somehow Berlin. With its jazzy bass line, "Feel Like" pushes forward with synths, claps and a touch of rave and Chicago. The twisted sounds reveal complex arrangements that remain playful.

Artist: TROXLER, SETH
Title: Boogy Bytes Vol. 05
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 210CD
This is the fifth installment in BPitch Control's Boogy Bytes series and it's the first CD not to feature a star from the label. Seth Troxler's top-drawer DJ, remixing and production skills, as well as his highly-praised releases on labels including the Ghostly International sub-label Spectral Sound, have helped him attract considerable interest and great bookings in his home city of Detroit and his current surroundings in Berlin. After the success of their night at the Berlin club Watergate, the paths of Ellen Allien and Seth Troxler crossed once again, and Seth was given the honor of making a Boogy Bytes CD. The track selection conveys a palpable deepness, occasionally harboring a touch of melancholy, yet never becoming overwhelming, for at its peaks -- which certainly include Seth's Fever Ray mix -- the tension is released in the most explosive and unbridled manner. Seth already considers certain tracks as classics. For him, Nicolas Jaar's "Time For Us" and the epic "Birds And Souls" are works with a great future. Not only are the individual remixes artfully arranged and intertwined, but single elements are also occasionally re-employed as material in a sound montage. Seth merges tracks into one another almost imperceptibly while constantly creating new angles in the way they overlap and retreat from one another. Other songs, on the other hand, follow one another abruptly and yet completely seamlessly. In the case of the dancefloor stormer "Stricher" by Roman Flügel, a complete section of the song is remolded as a transition between tracks. The 4/4 kick drum does not remain fundamentally in the foreground; in the funk-jazz-tinged pieces by Baeka and Dinky its presence is withdrawn, although the compulsion to dance is never lost. Seth Troxler pays homage both to his Detroit roots and to the minimal house style of his new home, and as a result, he moves his hallmark sound beyond the limits of 12" releases for the first time. Of course, the Boogy Bytes trademark wouldn't be complete without another edition of Axl Jansen's "Shaking Heads" photos as the cover design. Other artists include: Ryan Crosson, The Royal We, Dinky, Luciano, Mike Shannon, Craig Smith & The Revenge, Update, N/A, Rosina, Deniz Kurtel, Spektrum, Richie Hawtin, Alexi Delano, Jabberjaw, Heartthrob, Thrill Cosby, and Kiki.

Title: I'm Burning Inside
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 211EP
Jay Haze aka Fuckpony presents the second single from his Let The Love Flow album, with two remixes of "I'm Burning Inside." Reboot aka Frank Heinrich takes a pleasantly experimental approach, starting with punchy drums, a super-crisp, compressed kick and a growling bass-line. Soon, the wonderful piano and melody fragments from the original provide the dramatic direction, until finally you hear the unmistakable sound of the sun rising. Also features a lovely remix from Paul Ritch.

Title: Love Rehab
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 212EP
Tel Aviv's Chaim presents Love Rehab. The title track features tricky percussion and multi-layered atmospherics with a funk-injected organ riff. Its casually-extended song structure and vaguely lascivious vocals from Meital De Razon take you on a nocturnal journey. "New Years Eve" gets down to business with funky percussion and slap-bass samples, while the strings and brass could have been lifted straight out of a '70s blaxploitation movie. "Locations" showcases some spooky vocal effects, accompanied by a looped mantra and nursery rhyme.

Artist: JAHCOOZI
Title: Barefoot Wanderer Remixes Part 1
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 214EP
Part 1 of a remix package of Jahcoozi's album Barefoot Wanderer (BPC 215CD). "Close To Me" is taken to another level of abstraction by Click Box, who also skillfully blend in elements of "Barefoot Dub." The pair retain the hysterically-absurd mood of "Close To Me," even though the sound of their remix, with its old school electro beat and nervously flittering filters, is light years away from the original. Other remixes by Object Object and Milanese.

Artist: JAHCOOZI
Title: Barefoot Wanderer
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 215CD
This is the first album release for Jahcoozi on BPitch Control. This international band was formed in Berlin in 2002, comprised of members Robot Koch in Berlin (who arranges the beats), formerly London-based Sasha Perera (who handles the vocals), and bass lines that are laid down by Oren Gerlitz, who lived in Tel Aviv. The band experienced early support from John Peel and has released on labels such as Citizen Recordings, Crosstown Rebels and Playhouse. Jahcoozi are currently at the forefront of producing eclectic sounds and merging genres like grime, punk rock, hip-hop and various blends of electronica to create a unique definition of pop music. Barefoot Wanderer definitely marks a caesura in the band's trajectory and is the implementation of a new-found purism. It's not a loud, bright, stage-ready record, though they continue to be restless, and still filter their distinct dynamic from their different, border-crossing tastes in music. With the support of the Goethe Institute they went to Kenya to record the track "Msoto Millions" along with MCs from Ukoo Flani, a Kenyan dancehall/reggae crew in Nairobi. Staying true to their core musical approach, they gathered friends from all around the globe, but this time took it further than ever. For example, there's a track with percussionist Guillermo Brown from New York, they feature Belgian singer Barbara Panther on another, and (drum roll!) clay pot percussionist Oori Shalev from Israel. In general, they bring home sound souvenirs from every one of their journeys, embracing a mentality that appeals to everyone who feels comfortable in the most varied worlds of bpm counts and bass variations. Barefoot Wanderer is without a doubt the most self-contained and cohesive work they have done so far. Its sex appeal not only speaks through Sasha's booty-shake, it virtually shines through a mysteriously hazy disco-funk twilight. Unlike anything else, this album makes breakbeat a valid currency again, it refines dubstep, it recalls the early dancehall spirit, it even re-awakens the expressive force and agitation of digital hardcore, though without letting the formal execution become too explicit. Even the most explicit moments such as "Power Down Blackout," fuelled by long-time partner in crime M. Sayyid of Antipop Consortium, are laid down with a nonchalance that will get a crowd going in the blink of an eye. Also includes a Deadbeat dub.

Title: Flashy Flashy
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 216EP
Ellen Allien gives you a taste of her album Dust (BPC 217CD/LP). "Flashy Flashy" prances along with a light heart and a vague sense of bewilderment, perfectly content and probably a little bit nuts. The bass line dips, the beat scuttles along, and the synth glistens nervously between all kinds of curious crackling and fizzling. Alexi Delano's take keeps the kick drums taut and the ARP ready for battle. Also includes a remix by Nicolas Jaar.

Title: Dust
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 217CD
Ellen Allien, owner of the BPitch Control label and Fairy Queen of Berlin's more delicately-woven rave music, has been tinkering with the sound of the city for over a decade now. What has remained from all these years -- packed with great releases, highly original remixes and exploratory mix CDs -- are her monolithic albums, each the condensed result of a completely different creative phase. It already seems an eternity since Ellen Allien last remodelled her own sound with the sharp-edged diamond Sool in 2008 -- a release which opened the gates to a far-off parallel world where minimalist artifacts float through the room with a cool elegance and distanced allure. With Dust, Ellen removes the sense of remoteness entirely, and a warm immediacy takes center. On "My Tree" your eyes will be dazzled by the light shining through a canopy of leaves. And while the bleeps prance on by, the introduction of the clarinet, as a classical element, ensures that some order presides over all the endlessness behind the clouds. "Huibuh" feeds off a similar feeling, a perfectly tranquil synth-pop song which pays tribute to the most chilled of all Sunday afternoons. Melodic, sexy and self-content. On "Ever" the plucked synths and glockenspiels float over an unobtrusive beat framework. And despite their rich variety, these sounds are blended into a funky groove of life-affirming bliss. "Dream" makes a more twisted entrance where synths scale the walls while the trailing female vocals float through unconscious depths. Ellen prefers to sing a duet with her pitched-down alter ego under the pleasant glare of the "Flashy Flashy" disco lights -- a house track that trots along with a light and breezy gait. "Our Utopie" is the soundtrack to a sunrise with sounds that ring and reverberate through the air. Beneath the old school analog synth of "Schlumi" is a kick drum and a rave siren that winds its way up to the surface until the walls start to ripple and there are no more right angles in sight. Then there's "You," a completely unexpected indie-pop track with a beguiling guitar loop like something halfway between Zoot Woman and Phoenix, with a Joy Division bass line, and then Ellen's bright voice, singing with a cool fragility. "Sun The Rain" is the second synth-pop song on Dust, and "Should We Go Home" thrills with hushed voices, involuntary rushes of goosebumps and a few melodic fragments, arranged here as ambient phase shifts pile on top of one another. What now? You'd better dust yourself off. It's time to start all over again.

Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 218EP
Sascha Funke calls upon Nina Kraviz to make a feature appearance on the Moses EP -- an encounter between Germany's most incisive techno producers and a singer of considerable charisma. The title track balances poetic meditation and an eloquent arc of tension while "Moses Bonus" harbors an insatiable desire for a powerful sound system to be pushed to its limits. "Headphones" switches elegantly between action and regeneration with its layered vocal tracks and hypnotic bass line.

Title: Barefoot Wanderer Remixes Part 2
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 219EP
Part 2 of a remix package of Jahcoozi's album Barefoot Wanderer (BPC 215CD). The A-side explores previously unknown features of the marvelous album opener "Barefoot Dub," while the flipside turns to the gently provocative "Read The Books." Remix artists Stereotyp, Ramadanman, and Ikonika filter out the typical clues to the various genres -- dancehall, dubstep, hardcore techno -- in order to produce tracks which aren't typical, but play upon expectations, excess and suggestion.

Title: Our Utopie
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 220EP
The second single from Ellen Allien's Dust (BPC 217CD/LP) album, "Our Utopie" radiates the epic vitality of the open-air season, using a serene, floating synth line, a melody as soft as butter and a break which could bring the toughest of us to our knees. On "Should We Go Home" all shapes are elusive, all surfaces are glistening and everything's a mystery -- but then the beat returns and restores order, transforming right angles into gentle digital twittering.

Artist: KIKI
Title: Cinema Obscura
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 221EP
Joakim Ijäs aka Kiki presents Cinema Obscura, which follows on seamlessly from U.S. house traditions, yet also reduces them to absurdity with atmospheric density and sonic extravagance. "Sumore" rolls along at pulse rate, generates its own energy and swings calmly like a giant pendulum over the dancefloor. "Cinema Obscura" also takes its time, radiating an almost stoic tranquility, until a hypnotic, bouncing piano riff flows into the rolling house percussion. Also contains a remix of "Good Voodoo" from Subb-an.

Title: All I Wanna Do
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: BPC 222EP
Berlin has become what New York was in 1981 and Aérea Negrot is the Eartha Kitt of the post-techno age. As part of Hercules & Love Affair, the Venezuelan disco diva has tackled issues of gender code through a four-four discourse. Now, she releases her first EP on BPitch. This is eclecticism as dirty and playful as you could possibly want. It's as if ESG just wandered into Berghain by mistake. With remixes by Efdemin and tobias..

Artist: WE LOVE
Title: Underwater/Hide Me Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 223EP
Italian duo We Love spring a surprise with two of their more unusual sounding pieces on this first 12" for their smash debut full-length. Mannheim producer and DJ Johnny D turns "Underwater" into a surprisingly dark track which combines the melancholic atmosphere of the original with a solid, driving sound and hypnotic pulse. The flipside belongs to BPitch label boss and avowed We Love fan Ellen Allien herself. She comes up with a highly-personal club interpretation which only loosely references the original version of "Hide Me."

Artist: MULLER, THOMAS
Title: Melo
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 224EP
Thomas Muller works with minimal musical elements from the house end of the spectrum. Each track on this 12" extends over an entire side of the record, which means they have the room to develop their complex percussive structures and microscopic changes to perfection. "Sunday Monday" does without melody and harmony almost entirely, while "Red Noir," with what you might call a classic bass line, has a more appeasing feel, although it also maintains an ample level of elated energy.

Title: We Love
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 225CD
This is the debut full-length release from Italian duo We Love. With this debut, BPitch label-head Ellen Allien has sought out the golden needle in the haystack of current club music. It's almost impossible to resist the charm of the sweet Giorgia Angiuli, with her alluring brown eyes, and the wild locks of the contemplative, emotional Piero Fragola. The pair's debut album could become the chorus of the summer. Their enchanting songs fuse the ecstasy of clubland with the emotions of pop. Giorgia and Piero moved from the south of Italy to Florence and immersed their intimate love songs in a synthetic glamour. Simmering beneath the cool exterior of the synthesizer and guitars is the sex appeal of '70s glam heroes. Their gigs are legendary: in these pop performances, We Love create their own cosmos of music, film and fashion. Donning futuristic costumes and masks, they take us on a crusade of love -- the strongest feeling of all. Their songs grab hold of you from the first moment and are not so quick to let you go. The wonderful duet "Ice Lips" is about longing for the salty taste of your lover's skin; the pair's lust-filled voices are gently caressed by electronic sounds. On "Don't Cross," Giorgia's enchanting voice delivers a beautiful, ethereal melody while in distant reverie. "Cruise Control" combines a driving groove with a touching cello. On "Hide Me" the duo reveal their mischievous, flirtatious side, while on "No Train No Plane" we hear them in dreamland. The album's finale is "Escape," an epic pop song which is equally at home on a sweltering festival dancefloor or blaring from a builder's transistor radio. We Love struck the European pop scene like a bolt of lightning and are set to spread their love all over the world.

Title: Werkschau
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 227CD
Imagine you had the difficult task of representing your entire life in the form of seventeen songs. BPitch Control has attempted to do just that, packing a turbulent 12-year label history onto one silver disc. The resulting album is not just a simple reflection of the past, it's a statement showing how comprehensive, complex, progressive, emotional and ultimately enthralling electronic music can be; the kind of potential and opportunities for development that can be found in a genre -- given the necessary courage to ignore pigeon-holes and open new doors. The Werkschau (trans. "Showcase") compilation presents BPitch Control and its forward-thinking artists in all their stylistic elasticity. The BPC Werkschau compilation is in no way a conventional "best of" album. Instead, all 17 tracks are previously-unreleased works. The featured artists include label colleagues from BPC's founding period as well as completely new faces and musical collaborations which have been formed here for the first time. The artists' homelands are also worthy of note, ranging from various European countries to North and South America. Paul Kalkbrenner gives you an ironic wink as he combines straight, catchy tech-house production with a highly distorted Hammond organ and Mr. Statik unashamedly lays house beats under crooner vocals. The track "Deutsche Werden" from Aérea Negrot has a considerably more fantastical feel. The intermittent singer of Hercules and Love Affair sets off a reaction between her apparently deranged, broken German-speaking vocals and a unique and very coherently-arranged electro production style. The straight-up tech-house opener "The Present" from Irish Memo artist Cormac is carried by vocals, as is the wonderfully atmospheric synth-pop song from the Italian duo We Love. Dillon combines beatbox-electro with pop vocals in her collaboration with Coma. TimTim's contribution "How We Moove" merges classic singer/songwriting with bleepy electronic sounds, followed by the finely-woven dub textures of AGF/Delay. Telefon Tel Aviv offer challenging, futuristic yet retro Chicago post-rock/electronica sounds. Known and loved for being just as challenging are Jahcoozi -- with "Day In Day Out," the trio based around song-writer/MC/singer Sasha Perera makes a surprisingly docile appearance, showing their laid-back, dub-sounding side. Sascha Funke spreads his epic sound carpets over characteristic minimal techno structures while Thomas Muller creates another irresistibly dynamic clockwork construction with "West." Chaim's Chicago-inspired tech-house track could be a promising taste of what's to come and Mark Broom offers up a pure and simple dancefloor bomb with "Refund." Real house jacks Zander VT offer up a rare pearl and Kiki & Lenz release their first co-production on this CD. Finally, label boss Ellen Allien slots a classic house stomper in amongst the ranks of her colleagues. Without a doubt, this is a fabulous release with countless magic moments -- a clearly-defined point in the label landscape and a starting point for the next twelve years.

"Hiddensee" gives a clear representation of Sascha Funke's mastery of his trade. Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 229EP
This is the second single from Chaim's album Alive (BPC 230CD). The title track is a true love anthem with elegant, ephemeral sounds that smooth out the track's rawness. Echoes reminiscent of dub clash with dramatic, exotic sounds, while Meital De Razon rounds out the song with her heartfelt vocals. Kiki reshapes the original's graceful house groove into a demanding electro beat. Also on remix duty are Arto Mwambe (Christian Beißwenger and Phillip Lauer) and Deniz Kurtel.

Title: Alive
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 230CD
Chaim Avital's seductive house sound has been enchanting dancefloors around the world for several years. On his debut album Alive, his music becomes all the more universal: with a unique ear for suggestive melodies, the musician from Tel Aviv shapes these euphoric moments of club music into absorbing pop songs. They burst out of the club doors and ring out of radios and headphones. With the opener "Rain" the melodies glisten like the sun's rays piercing a cloudy sky. Then comes "U & Eye," when the intimate voice of Meital De Razon immediately strikes at your heart. On "Everything," with its glittering strings and vehement chords, you can feel the longing bursting from the chest of this primal club track. Bass lines run through your body like lightning strikes; the vocals are serious and insistent. Only the club legend Snax has the answer: he unravels these knotted emotions in the old-school-inspired "Wish." "Love Rehab" depicts an encounter between the deep, erotic voice of a French Casanova, ripened by his years, and the celestial chant of a love goddess lost in reverie. With its unrestrained, Balearic voices, "Runaway Frequencies" carries us away from the pulsating rhythms of the city to a far-off, boundless beach horizon. On "Don't Shout" you can still feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, and yet the bass line is already pumping in deep breaths. On "Who Said What" Chaim's gaze wanders over mellow, graceful sounds. On the equally laid-back "Naturalness," warm claps and smooth melodies blend into a trippy house number. The album steers its course towards the musician's early career with "Popsky" from his first release: here, raw drumming and electrifying textures trigger rave-like moments of ecstasy. Chaim bids us farewell amongst the lively babble of "People Can Talk," which features the pulse of a hypnotic bass line. Chaim's tracks and songs are the result of 15 years of getting to know and work with music and the emotional worlds it opens up.

Title: Dust Remixes
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: BPC 233CD
BPitch queen Ellen Allien released her album Dust (BPC 217CD/LP) in the Spring of 2010. Since then, it has been impossible to get away from the strangely glittering fairy dust that graced the album's cover. On your skin, your clothes, in your nose, and above all, in your ears. Dust truly left its mark. Anyone that had anything to do with techno in 2010 couldn't avoid experiencing Ellen's most personal and without a doubt, most mature reflection of her own being, a sparkling gem full of pop appeal and unexpected twists and turns. And why would they want to? It unites many facets into one -- although the album, which was produced together with Tobias Freund, is extremely diverse and wide-ranging, it is also a coherent impression of a singular personality. A snapshot of an artist who was one of the first to begin hammering Berliner techno into stone. So it really comes as no surprise that these remixes are just as impressive as Ellen's original LP, thanks to the multiple perspectives they provide. Placing the tracks in different (yet well-selected) hands was supposed to be a simple experiment, but what was originally intended to only be released digitally ended up being so impressive that a decision was made to turn it into the tactile experience of a silver disc. The result is 13 adaptations of the material on Dust which transition between multiple varieties of house, techno, disco, and ambient, as if the idea of different categories never existed. Here, a rigid structure takes a backseat to creative freedom. The artists selected for this project come from completely different stylistic camps, and can without a doubt be referred to as key players in today's club sound. The remixes which stand out the most are probably the incredible cover of "Flashy Flashy" by Nicolas Jaar, the remix of "Should We Go Home" by John Roberts, as well as the remix of Ellen's pop song "You" by Munk. Other remix artists include: Ripperton, Bodycode, Adultnapper, Tim Hecker, John Roberts, Aux 88, Fabrizio Maurizi, Shonky, Camea and Kassem Mosse.

Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 234EP
This wild, uninhibited mix of avant-jazz, funk, electronica, and disco beats has become an insider tip within the scene in record time, and a short while later, the two men and a Minimoog are rocking Berlin's hottest clubs. After releases on TonKind, Neopren, and Bar25 Records, please give a standing ovation to Skinnerbox. "Purgatory Five" begins with a twisted melodic figure which is then quickly overtaken by a calmly pulsating house beat and moody, minimal melodies with a sweeping harmonic series.

Format: 12"

With "Ganymedes," Mr. Statik adds an elegant footnote to techno history by releasing the first dance music track which pays direct homage to a figure from Greek mythology. Mr. Statik gives him a warm serenade with a subtle spring in the bassline, jubilant hand claps, an uplifting melody line and a misty-eyed vocal from the Telefon Tel Aviv singer Joshua Eustis. "Be Free" features vocals from K.atou and "Imagine" dives deep into peak-time vocal tech-house with hypnotic crooning from Carlos Valdes.

Title: Metallic Italic
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 236EP
Dance Disorder are Georgina Fernandez aka Baby G, and Robin Crafoord, and this 12" combines classic Italo-dance ingredients with a dash of new wave flair. "Metallic Italic" uses a powerful, straight-up beat, catchy melody lines and trance-inducing sequences to conjure up a wonderfully dense synth-pop atmosphere that is equally irresistible on the sofa and on the dancefloor. Co-production credits go to Tobias Freund, and there are also remixes by Snuff Crew and Jeremy Glenn.

Title: Right Body Wrong Time
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: BPC 237EP
Aérea Negrot presents her second 12" for BPitch. She silenced any doubters with her first single "All I Wanna Do," creating a new platform for her boundless range of musical expression alongside her career singing with Hercules & Love Affair. Tobias Freund is on hand once more to produce and mix. Aérea Negrot's unique eclecticism -- her sublime voice, sometimes diva-like in its effusiveness -- is lent a distinct artificial quality through Tobias' vocoder and other studio trickery.

Artist: WE LOVE
Title: Timeless
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 238EP
We Love ups the ante with their second BPC release. This is what pop gems sound like. The elegantly-arranged mix of sparkling minimal wave synths, subtle guitars reminiscent of New Order, and striking vocals are set in motion by a laid-back, yet assertively programmed drum computer. The flipside is completely dedicated to the dancefloor -- "Ice Lips" is put on its diet by Tale Of Us and "The Even If" remix from Troy Pierce is definitely a highlight.

The debut album from the Venezuelan Aérea Negrot is one of those records that speaks with such intensity that her deepest emotions are instantly laid bare to the listener. This heartfelt account in music and words relays her unique outlook and life story to the world without a hint of inhibition. Sometime in 2004, having passed through Caracas, Porto, The Hague and London, Aérea Negrot arrived in Berlin and sensed she had finally found the place she had been looking for ever since her childhood. Aérea first settled for a while in London, studied at the Centre of Contemporary Music and began producing her first songs. After moving to Berlin, she set her mind on gaining the attention of the public with avant-garde dance performances. She earned a living in her spare time as a sales assistant at a furniture store on Savignyplatz. She finally appeared on the musical radar in 2010 with the release of her first official EP All I Wanna Do on BPitch Control. But instead of continuing to concentrate on her solo career, she started making a name for herself as a singer and dancer with the band Hercules & Love Affair, based around the American producer Andy Butler. After recording the album Blue Songs with the band, she set off on a world tour. Now, following her recent second BPitch Control EP Right Body Wrong Time and a remix EP featuring re-interpretations from Hercules & Love Affair, Seth Troxler and Ricardo Villalobos (who was so captivated when he heard the song "Miss You" in Tobias Freund's studio that he produced two epic remixes the very next night) -- the moment has arrived for Arabxilla. The album is filled with extraordinary avant-pop songs leading a merry dance around the genres of techno, house and electronica. Adding to the musical language, Aérea Negrot tells stories of her adventure-filled gypsy life in a varied patchwork of German, English and Spanish. Her vocal style follows her mood, sometimes classical opera, sometimes a sassy spoken-word style, sometimes simply speaking as the words come to her. There is a constant spirit of experimentation, but the magic of the initial, visceral feeling never goes missing. It was this instantly-recognizable magic that also inspired Tobias Freund, co-producer of the album, the first time he heard the tracks. There is very little about the songs, all of which Aérea Negrot composed at home on her computer, that Tobias has changed. A new bass line here and there, a few fresh drum sounds and a little analog boost were all that was needed to complete this musical bag of tricks, which will find its place in music history somewhere alongside Klaus Nomi, Yma Sumac, Marika Papagika and Maria Callas.

Thomas Muller's distinctive approach to programming beats and love for detail in sound design leaves an impression of constantly moving parts that remain in one place. The resulting tension instills Thomas' tracks with an irresistible and curiously mechanical energy. Having established and refined his musical trademark on previous EPs and remixes -- including those for his label-mates Telefon Tel Aviv and Cormac -- Thomas enters new territory with each track of his new EP Neurones.

This is Skinnerbox's second BPC release. On this EP, the two Berliners Olaf Hilgenfeld and Iftah Gabbai celebrate their vision of modern dancefloor music in four epic tracks. Their sound ranges from Skinnerbox's trademark -- live avant-jazz fragments -- to extensively atmospheric melodies to opulent electro compositions. The surprisingly catchy tracks are effortlessly held together with an aggressive house beat, which even turns the jazzy, crazy homage to Coltrane entitled "Jupiter Variations" into a floor-filler.

Catalog #: BPC 244CD
Debut album for the singer and pianist Dominique Dillon de Byington aka Dillon, who has made a winding journey from Brazil to Berlin via Cologne. Dillon is inspired by Billie Holiday, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jeff Buckley, and highly recommended by DJ Koze. Everyone knows that DJ Koze has prophetic qualities, and not just since he began dropping tracks under his guru pseudonym Swhaimi. You see, many years before, he also waxed oracular about the singer Dominique Dillon de Byington, aka Dillon: "She sings comfortably imperfect and true. She has character. I like her. She has a bright future ahead of her." And that future once prophesied by the wise Hamburg resident about the young artist from Berlin is now, as Dillon has sat down at her piano many times during the past few years and written captivating, quiet songs that definitely should be heard extremely loud. This Silence Kills was co-produced by Tamer Özgönenc and Thies Mynther in Hamburg during Winter 2011. CD housed in a deluxe digipak with fold-out poster-booklet.

Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 245EP
Parisian DJ Chloé returns to BPitch Control after a successful guest performance with Sasche Funke in 2006. The three tracks on Watch Out ignite a true display of sound and beat fireworks. Chloé deliberately chose not to use tonal elements, and there are also no signs of melodies. Only "The Shift" is a little more relaxed, while the electro epics "Chatterbox" and "Watch Out" are both masterfully shaped by powerful beats and thrilling sound fragments.

Title: Robots On Meth
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 246EP
BPitch Control presents Robots On Meth from Chaim. The 12" begins with an unreleased track called "Levantina" that combines no-frills, rolling, jacking beats with opulent synth melodies. The drama really starts to unfold with the introduction of vocals from Adi Shabat. The flip-side offers two complementary remixes from David K. On the "BenZona" remix, David strips the Robots down to dancefloor-friendly tech-house beats and the raw spoken voice of guest vocalist JAW (dOP). "The Bubble Mix" surprises the listener with cosmic sparkling old-school synths.

Artist: TELEFON TEL AVIV
Title: The Birds (Matthew Dear & E.Allien Rmx)
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 247EP
Telefon Tel Aviv have mastered the art of balancing the bittersweet romance and occasionally excessive melancholy of so many '80s electro-pop pearls, dusting off their retro sleeves and presenting them in the form of lavish, melodic epics. The new EP features the intoxicatingly beautiful album opener "The Birds" in its original version and in two remixes that could hardly be more contrasting from Ellen Allien and Matthew Dear. None other than Cocteau Twins co-founder Robin Guthrie makes an appearance on "The Sky Is Black."

Title: Galactic Horse
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: BPC 248EP
BPC lady Ellen Allien requests your company at the Allien Dance. Dark electro meets house! Galactic Horse was co-produced by her label-mates, Skinnerbox. "Take Me Out" slams into your ears with a bone-dry, crunching oldschool electro-funk beat. This is gradually sweetened with catchy string hooks and atmospheric sounds. "Need" treats us to a pure house beat, as classic as it gets. Playful vocal samples firmly take root in your auditory canals, leading you to hear "Need" as a tongue-in-cheek parody of house music.

Artist: KIKI & CHAIM
Title: Love Kills!
Label: BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)

In keeping with the theory that the whole is more than the sum of its parts, the two BPC veterans Kiki & Chaim produce their 12" Love Kills! as a combined effort. The pair are hardly strangers to one another: their mutual remixes, Kiki's excellent version of Chaim's album title-track "Alive" in 2011 and Chaim's 2009 smash with Kiki's "Good Voodoo" set the bar high and whet the appetite for more.
