Artist: SOLOMUN
Title: Saturday, I'm In Love
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 2CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 001CD
2008 release. Hamburg-based Diynamic and its figurehead Solomun deliver their first label compilation. The 2CD compilation sees a selection of unreleased, exclusive tracks from H.O.S.H., Stimming, Trickski and more while those seeking a retrospective of the label get a mix deftly put together by Solomun of the label's highlights. CD1 is a treat for any fan of house music as every track is a piece of unreleased joy from some of the most reliable names around (a testament to the Diynamic A&R policy). Solomun & Stimming continue their enviable pairing with opening track "Lemniskate" as well as individual contributions, while other home-grown Diynamic star H.O.S.H. turns in his best work yet with the wonderfully kooky "Gartenarbeit." There's also some quality contributions from Trickski and Jay Shepheard as well as relatively new talent in the form of Solar & Poppcke. Old hands and Solomun's Innervisions labelmates Trickski serve up typically delightful deepness with "Your Lonely Nites" while relative newcomers Paulo Olarte and Solar & Poppcke display exactly why it's always worth keeping an eye on Diynamic and its ability to unearth gems. CD2 serves up a wonderfully-executed mix from Solomun. Known for warm, flowing sets with real depth as well as peaks, Solomun has pulled off the unenviable task of choosing highlights from a release schedule which features little in the way of "lowlights." Stimming & H.O.S.H's monstrous "Radar" and Guido Schneider's remix of "Feuervogel" by Stimming and Solomun sit alongside deeper house remixes from Motorcitysoul and Jimpster in a mix that builds, then delivers, in fine style. The only problem is picking a favorite, but then, that's the beauty. A must for fans of the label, a must for fans of any of the label's artists and a must for those who follow superb house music as either DJs or punters. Other artists include: Ost & Kjex, Gebrüder Ton, Anja Schneider, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Jerome Sydenham, Guido Schneider, and Einmusik.

Title: Bunte Blume/Stadtgeflüster
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 001EP
2006 release, repressed. "Here's a re-release of their very first 12"! Solomun, aka DJ Play, the Hamburg DJ giving his debut with an EP on his own label Diynamic Music. Music like a butterfly in summer: warm and dry. Deep, groovy, consequential and melodious, Solomun always has an eye on the dancing client. On three tracks there is a unique electronic band, telling stories of three layers of party-going and worlds to live in. Absolute summer hits, instantly commanding to dance to, a melody of timeless beauty ('Bunte Blume'), meditation-music for the dancefloor ('Wellenfänger') and a deep, sexy prime-time-hymn ('Stadtgeflüster') -- you'll find anything on this EP. A1: 'Bunte Blume': A club-hit out of time and space. A feeling of yearning is awakened in the digital space, giving the listener a deep sense for the music. Feelings finding their peak in a surprising and all-pervading synthie-hook, wanting to stay in the ear and doing so. 'Bunte Blume' combines the best of different worlds: A hymn that has everything indeed and denies all the superfluous. B1: 'Stadtgeflüster' Suddenly there appear vocals: A female breathing is heard rhythmically. A deep minimal track for a party where sex is in the air. The room-pervading bass and a melodramatic FM-hook give this track a near cinematic drive, like a great movie."

Artist: STIMMING
Title: Reflections
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $14.50
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 002CD
2009 release. This is Hamburg-based producer Martin Stimming's first album for the Diynamic imprint -- an album based around specific stories expressed through 11 tracks. With previous releases for Liebe*Detail, Freerange, and Buzzin' Fly, Stimming imbues Reflections with a thoroughly modern house feeling laced with jazz and real depth of both emotion and sound via a mix of field recordings, live instrumentation and electronic wizardry. Shock, contrast and fresh outlooks abound on Reflections, where Stimming uses tracks such as "Sunday Morning" to lull the listener into a groove before hitting them with epic, almost orchestral slaps. Tried and tested house music influences are given new, skewed interpretations on cuts such as the drunken dub of "Song For Isabelle" and the Eastern-European folk-house of "Silver Surfer" while even more straightforward house templates in "After Eight" and "One Weekend" still sound totally unique and refreshing. Reflections sees the producer tackle vocals for the first time with "The Loneliness," a bittersweet yet rousing piece which intertwines organic elements with electronic sounds seamlessly. Those seeking Stimming anthems which have thus far propelled the artist's career, won't be disappointed either, as there's plenty. Whether it be the Detroit-y "The Beauty" or the lush, melodic closer "The Kiss," dancefloors will surely buckle. A true journey, Reflections ebbs and flows wonderfully with jaw-dropping production, allowing Stimming to create some outstanding fusions of styles and moods.

Title: Dies Und Das
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 002EP
2006 release, repressed. "Here's a re-release of their in-demand second 12"! A1: 'Dies und Das': A song to dream to on the dancefloor. A deep house-groove feelingly appears, harsh sounds hold the suspense and organic-plane synths lead to classical, beautiful harmonies. Surely for the heart. Highly melodic, full of sorrow and hope in one. B1: 'Hin und Her': If Europa is the melody and Africa the rhythm, than this beat belongs without question to the black continent. "To and Fro" (German: 'Hin und Her') is like a rave in the Congo. And if the A-side "This and That" ('Dies und Das') is a dreamy little sister, than this track is her great muscular macho-brother. Clear, decisive, edgy with scarce room for tones in between. A whole tribe prepares for war, paints itself, dances and brings the blood to boil. B2: 'Zigarette Danach': The track with the most surprises. There is room for so many turns and ideas, that afterwards you yearn for a cigarette -- if you are a smoker. If you are not, an apple should do. A forceful, grooving bass-line, shattering sounds, and a female sigh enliven the listeners' imagination. A track done entirely without plug-ins enchants through its playfulness. A track for friends of the minimal, for preservers of their stairs to childhood. Kongas in panoramic delays finish the 'after-cigarette' in utter delight. A track for each stage of life."

Title: Dance Baby
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 003CD
2009 release. Diynamic main man, producer extraordinaire and globe-trotting DJ, Solomun, delivers his debut long-player Dance Baby. It has been a staggeringly short time in which the Bosnian-born Croatian Mladen Solomun has exerted a considerable influence in house music. Dance Baby sees Solomun further refine his craft and deliver an album which provides a neat but powerful insight into not just house itself, but his very personal view of the genre and its development. Just as early house did, Dance Baby distils disco, soul, funk and electronic sounds into a heady mix which flows like a classic DJ set -- ebbing, flowing and taking in the whole spectrum of moods and energies. This flow also lends itself to home listening wonderfully, a rare trait for a house album and one that makes Dance Baby all the more endearing. Opener "Country Song" slides you into Solomun's world with a 1 bar live bass loop doing all the work while layered keys and vocal ad-libs are scattered about the track, creating a light, airy introduction. Darker-edged cuts like the low-slung "Boyz In The Hood" and the incredibly tweaked-out "Blackout" create a sharp contrast but the programming means there are no moody quagmires to get caught in. As with much of his previous output, Dance Baby oozes with classic house references, such as the Detroitian string stabs of "Hypnotize," the Chicago "jack" of "Déjà Vu" and the rabble-rousing vocals of "Cloud Dancer." There are even touches of the oft-forgotten Sheffield "bleep" sound which resonates throughout. What really makes these references though, is that Solomun takes them and makes them his own, embedding them into thoroughly-modern tracks which don't sound like any of his previous singles but still sound quintessentially Solomun. There's also a musicality which blows through all 11 tracks which makes for a captivating listen and culminates in the massively emotive "Story of My Life" -- an unforgettable, string-laden piece of timeless house. This is a stunning debut from a producer who truly has the authority to tell you to dance, baby...

Artist: OST & KJEX
Title: Cajun Lunch
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 004CD
With a sound that straddles electro, funk, disco and house, Oslo-based duo Ost & Kjex return with their second long-player Cajun Lunch on Diynamic. Having released their cheese-fixated (and indeed sampled) debut album Some, But Not All Cheese, Comes From The Moon in 2004, the food-obsessed Norwegian pair have released a multitude of EPs and remixes on labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Planetnoise, Modular, Snick Snack, Punkt, Dialect and now Diynamic Music and played in venues and festivals all over the world. The debut album awarded them a nomination for "Best Electronica Album" at the Norwegian Grammys and the pair continued to develop their sound on releases such as More Songs About Cheese And Revolutionary Tarts, How Not To Be A Biscuit and Boston Food Strangler. Since then, the food boys have awoken, got their hands on some serious sounds and started shredding out tunes aimed at the dancefloor. In between live shows and remixing, the busy food geeks have now prepared their second course for your delectation. As the title suggests Cajun Lunch mixes elements of Delta blues and bayou bass lines into their organic house sound, especially on the guitar-filled "Bluecheeseblues" parts 1 and 2, but also in the general laid-back atmosphere that envelopes every track. From the opening sun-kissed grooves of "Mosambiquetravelplan" featuring Bugge Wesseltoft on piano to the sexed-up funk of "Continental Lover" and the deep house tones of "The Yellow Man," the boys continue to conspire with the album's guest vocalist, Tracee Meyn. Providing a juxtaposition to the pairs' house foundation and Mr. Ost's falsetto lead vocals, Tracee becomes an integral part of Cajun Lunch's funk-filled sound, giving it that extra spice to their production relish. On the darker and minimal-edged "A New Deal" and bass line driven "Seraphine" Tracee is further assisted by members of her gospel choir who combine to give Cajun Lunch a fuller, more rounded sound while tracks like "We Got Ticket To Moon" and "Bluebird" see the guys strip everything down to the bare essentials and groove with their machines. Ost & Kjex's love for electronic music takes the boys wherever the cheese is fresh and the beats are crunchy.

Artist: H.O.S.H.
Title: Connecting The Dots
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 005CD
Diynamic man, producer and planet-spanning DJ, H.O.S.H. aka German Holger Behn -- serves up his debut full-length Connecting The Dots for the Hamburg-based imprint. Since 2006, H.O.S.H. has been an integral cog in the Diynamic wheel and, as a result, has helped steer house music into unchartered waters. His productions and remixes to date -- for labels like Kindisch, Get Physical, Supernature, Freerange, Strictly Rhythm, Dessous, Tsuba and more -- have blended house, dub, minimal, classical instruments and world music influences with a recognizable deftness and engaging restraint. This is an album made up of ten dancefloor cuts which all exhibit a trademark Diynamic musicality, hinting at H.O.S.H.'s influences up to this point and simultaneously marking out a path into the future of underground house music. Opening with late-night house groover "Hamburg Night" a clipped, propulsive pace is established from the off and male vocals (courtesy of Ost & Kjex) adds to the track's sense of rhythm. From there, the deep loops and swollen bass line of "Cash The Chord" make for a gloopy, rich sound which oozes a subtle future funk as it goes. Following on is a track which subtly references the past but importantly, though, H.O.S.H. skews said reference through his own squelchy filter, adds layer upon layer of house texture and makes it very much his own. From there, the album goes through chunky, crisp grooves; complex arrangements and guest vocals from Mistress Barbara; bouncy, chord-led jams and intense, bleeping rollers with devilish detail and delightful charisma. More reflective and overtly emotive moments come on "Crackhead," while the shimmering key stabs of "Antonelli Screaming" provide plenty of excuses to stick your hands in the air like you just don't care. Closing out the record is mesmeric, hypnotic builder "Souled Out," which sways to and fro in style and has you nodding along right until the final beat. These are not just a selection of ten mindless dancefloor cuts -- far from it. Instead, H.O.S.H. breathes new life into the dancefloor by taking inspiration from the past and taking it very much into the future. Furthermore, this album is stuffed with all the idiosyncrasies and seductive sonic motifs you would expect from someone of H.O.S.H.'s ability. An accomplished and assured debut, Connecting The Dots is likely to attract much attention from fans old and new alike.

Artist: STIMMING
Title: Liquorice
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 006CD
The second album on Diynamic from Hamburg-based producer Martin Stimming wasn't initially planned to be an album. There was an intrinsic need for him to express what was going on in this period of life. Relationship problems led to a very punk, off-whack attitude to his producing. With seven tracks done and dusted, he figured the work was more than just a collection of weird shit; it was a whole new music experience -- add another 5 months of studio work, and he named it Liquorice. Definitely hard to pigeonhole -- call it minimal, stripped-back, dub, experimental -- maybe "electronic free jazz" comes the closest. No sign of a typical 4/4 bass drum at all and Stimming has incorporated his trademark use of field recordings, from a marble run, a pizza slicer, a trashcan, a coffee machine, and an ice train shuttling past to name a few. The Stimming'esque percussion, which is even more radical this time, has been thrown in with all these facets in his massive melting pot, coupled with some dark emotions. "This time I didn't use all the main events a groove normally has," recalls Martin. "I kind of sneaked around the normal bass drum/clap or snare combination during the most productive time when I had to sleep on the couch in my 16 square meter studio -- certain circumstances didn't allow me to sleep at home... that was very, very intense." It's this loose, punk ethic that encapsulates the freestyle feel to Liquorice. Obvious bass and kicks have been stripped and replaced with eerie atmospheres, fluid percussion, found sounds and dystopian electronics in the search for something new. It's this sideways approach that also gives the album its glue, bringing all 13 tracks together as a unique listening experience. From the opening chattering of loose-limbed and scene-setting orchestral instruments on "Cold Water" the first three tracks give an idea of what will happen, building slowly to "Cooking Coffee" and the introspective feel of "On A Grey Day." The album's emotional climax reveals itself on "Don"t Touch This," and finally concludes on the beautiful closing track, "The Train." Stimming further elaborates, "Even when I have all those strange sounds in it, it's still very groove-based. I called it Liquorice because I simply love real liquorice-sweets and I have realized that it's something someone loves or hates."

Title: Welcome To Wherever You're Not
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 007CD
DJ Phono releases his first album on Hamburg record label Diynamic. Welcome To Wherever You're Not is a work of heart, of emotions awakened and flourishing unrequited feelings. DJ Phono and his producer Jimi Siebels took their time in crafting a record that is between here and there, between the main floor and backroom, between big and small, between yesterday, today and tomorrow, between pop and club, or in short: in between worlds. One quality all of the 12 songs from Welcome To Wherever You're Not have in common is their elegant reserve. They politely, cautiously, discreetly ask for a bit of attention without letting themselves get hustled into oblivion. "Soll Ich Ein Loch Graben?," however, stands out as it unfolds into an imposing 8-minute rave drama: all the hands go up in the air when the bass drum finally kicks in towards the middle of the song. Björn Beneditz (WCW Gallery) and Carola Wagenplast (Jochen Schmith) created the art for the sublime booklet accompanying this album -- each album is handcrafted and is therefore an individual piece of art. The forthcoming tour will comprise a delicate and yet serene chorography made of silicon crystals and computer science in the context of club music.

Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 009EP
"The Kollektiv Turmstrasse: whether 'Grillen Im Park,' 'Freiflug' or 'Tristesse,' we love them all. And so it makes us even more happy that this sympathic duo's way is crossing ours, and got three fantastic tracks with them. The A-side 'Eskapade' is a deep but emotional melancholic club track, which could be the follow-up to 'Grillen Im Park.' B1. 'Milieu' -- this song has a groove from hell, like a deep trip with a touch of Detroit. B2. 'Wagnis' -- whoever can sit still listening to this track is beyond help anyway."

"After several cooperations with his mates H.O.S.H. and Stimmig, and a lot of own releases on other labels, this is the first all-own EP of Solomun on Diynamic! You maybe won't believe it, but it's like that! And because home is the sweetest place on earth, we invite the guests we love and like in this case, we are fans of ourselves: Jamie Odell, better known as Jimpster or Audiomontage, who made a lot of deep tech-house hearts happy with his productions an his own label Freerange during the last years."

Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 017EP
"Already a highlight in his live-act, finally here is the release. For 'Una Pena,' Stimming worked with vocals of the Chilean folklore-singer Violeta Parra. It's worth it to surf Wikipedia for this wonderful, versatile and extraordinary woman! But that's not enough, Argy produced a fantastic remix, which shows, as well as his great Focus On Album on Poker Flat, why he is so popular."

Artist: SOLOMON VS. OST & KJEX
Title: Federgewicht
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 018EP
"This EP screams for something extraordinary! For this Solomun got support from Oslo, capital of Norway and home of Ost & Kjex. These sympathic full-blooded musicians have proven themselves already with 'Milano Model' on Dialect, 'How To Be A Biscuit' (Crosstown Rebels) or 'Boston Food Strangler' (Snick Snack Music). No one else combines humorous vocals with funky sounds like these boys. There is a Hamburg and Oslo version. And for all who don't like vocals at all, there is a dub version included. Even Störtebecker knew that the North is rockin' too!"

"Rest (2000) and We Are Monster (2005) may be the most established buzzwords for the very young history of house and techno. For these two albums Rajko Müller got hymns of praise from everywhere. Uncommon: everyone agreed -- the normal club people as well as music journalists and even DJ-stars. Isolée's music was and still is cross-genre, and there are just a few who achieved something like this and stayed timeless. One of his most famous tracks is 'Beau Mot Plage' -- a club hit classic which is still turning all around the world. Those who know his impressive discography, know what awesome and exciting music Rajiko created beyond this. So share our happiness and be prepared for an enthralling journey with Isolée."

"On side A: Markus Homm, Mihai Popoviciu and Jay Bliss. Three sophisticated artists with releases on Highgrade, Immigrant and Foundation Records. This magical trio created this funky, deep house track for us, which brims over with groove and energy. On side B we are very happy to welcome a newcomer, who is going to be listened to a lot soon. Felx Feygin grew up in Brooklyn New York, and still lives there. About himself he says: 'One day I fell in love with jazz, then we got married and had little deep house babies.' When you listen to this track, you will know what he means! And if that was not already enough, there is a fantastic DOP remix. They are responsible for the fresh sound made in France, and brought us a lot of joy with there releases on Circus Company. And because this trio is something special, the boy sang some lines of the text for this remix themselves. The outcome is genuine and we are very happy!"

Title: Hello Spring EP
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 037EP
DJ Kaos has travelled the globe spreading his Chicago-infused house message. On Diynamic he delivers "Hard To Earn," a deeply grooving electronic workout, the result of a late-night studio session with long-time production partner Muallem. Sharing this exclusive release is a special collaboration between dream-team Holger Zilske and Daso, who turn in a wonderfully unique and beautifully-twisted number. Capping the release in fine style is the boss Solomun with a low-slung, groovy tool that utilizes the original's electronic warmth to perfection.

Artist: OST & KJEX
Title: Remix:Session 06
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 038EP
Ost & Kjex presents the first single from Cajun Lunch (DIYNAMIC 004CD/LP). "Continental Lover" perfectly demonstrates the duo's fresh, dancefloor focus. Soulful, harmonized vocals flow deliciously over powerful synth chords. An a cappella break becomes inspired and driven by a throaty piano riff. Pawas creates a soundscape of softly-throbbing bass lines, atmospheric synths and spooky keys. UNER delivers his own brand of funk by stabbing the synths and lacing the keys. Stimming's version is stripped and elegant -- deepness at its best.

Tasked with reworking the tracks are 8Bit and Katchul boss Gorge, who breathes new life into the beautiful vocal number "Finally Mine" and Poker Flat chief Steve Bug, who leads you through a wonderfully deep, Hammond masterclass. Also features Misstress Barbara and Ost & Kjex.

Artist: DJ PHONO
Title: There's Confetti In My Shoe
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 049EP
With his album Welcome To Wherever You're Not and its single release "Knarhcslhük Mi Ttinhcsfua Hcon Ebah Hci," DJ Phono is destined to subtly scrabble coordinate systems. This is the sound of gently grooving music rather than "knarzige" breaks. Everything seems soft, hazy and buoyant. Even after the strangely unpronounceable title has been encrypted into the meaning of the German words, the enigma is still not revealed. What remains are three bouncey and lovely tunes, nurtured by British pop and French house.

Artist: STIMMING/H.O.S.H./DAVID AUGUST

Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 050EP

Title: See You Everyday Alone/Challenge The Air
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 052EP
Diynamic label-boss Solomun delivers the soulful jam "See You Everyday Alone." Epic strings and sounds of thunder and rain lead into deep breakdowns with a dark touch. Stimming's contribution is "Challenge The Air," featuring soft bass and vocals by David Stoltzenberg. Layered guitars and basslines combined with Stimming's signature groove account for a warm, organic mood. The echoing vocal phrases underline the floating structure, which lends a hypnotic touch. Definitely one of Stimming's more personal and emotive works.

Artist: VA
Title: VA

Hunter_Game offers a very deep, sexy track with nice vocals and smooth, hypnotic sounds. NTFO present a total house jam -- with chunky bass stabs, funky, muted guitar sounds and a crispy hook-line, this song is made to make you shake. "Smiling Faces" by APP shines with its laid-back groove and trippy vocals.

Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 054EP
David August is back with his third EP. The title track features a repetitive vocal line which will stay on your mind for a long time. With its pumping bassline and one stretching acapella breakdown, "You Got To Love Me" is a guaranteed dancefloor bomb. "On My Mind" captivates with a funky bass line. Finally, a haunting vocal-hook accompanied by low atmospheric piano notes and deep bass hits support the pleasurable slowness of "Stepping Trough My Self."

"Hidden Pleasures" is an instant viber and "High!" is a slow and true groover.

Artist: STIMMING
Title: Window Shopping EP
Label: DIYNAMIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $14.00
Catalog #: DIYNAMIC 056EP
Stimming returns with a classic three-tracker, showcasing his skill and everlasting talent to surprise. "Windowshopping" is a catchy, floating and harmonic groover. "The Song" features South Africa's Lazarusman, again demonstrating his unique talent with words. "November Morning" is the slowest track Stimming has ever released so far. Weird violin-sounds, organic percussion and everlasting groove create a grey and moody vibe.
