"Welcome along to the first Drumpoet compilation entitled
Drumpoems Verse 1
. This teasing 4 track EP combines the previously unreleased tracks of Foster, Kawabata, The Lost Men and Soultourist on vinyl. Deep house heaven! The drumpoet.comMUNITY was founded in 2005 in Zurich to remusicalize the cold and sometimes boring schemes of clubland. It was time to bring back the warmth and soul to the dancefloor. The general vibe is rather relaxed than hectic -- a groove which seems to reflect the rhythm of Zurich perfectly and represents the constant aim for change and progression which is another characteristic of Zoorichans."

"Lexx aka Kawabata comes up with 'Persuasion,' a dubby and reduced house tune with an irresistible groove. Belonging to Zurich's finest DJs, Lexx knows exactly what moves people on the dancefloor. He's also known for his cosmic boogie tunes on labels like Bear Funk and Permanent Vacation. As Kawabata, he stands for deep and emotional dance music and also for a change in clubland. He's one of those people who lives music 24/7 and so is passionate about his work. On the flip-side, there's a stunning remix by Serafin of Mountain People fame. Serafin delivers a percussive monster which is hard to resist. 100% booty shaking with the essence of house music. It's already a big hit at the Zukunft and it's aiming for this new and yet really old-school vibe of house. Through his past, Serafin knows also how to make the techno community jump and it's definitely time for change in this genre. We think that people like The Mountain People or Sascha Dive, just to name a few, are opening new doors and have something important to say."

Judgement Day/Bleachin'

"Essen's Langenberg (previous releases on Sthmlaudio and Resopal Red) with his first 12" for Switzerland's hottest label. Stripped down Detroit influenced grooves, reduced to the max! We have a really special time and it seems that the last few 12"s on Drumpoet created a big buzz on the dancefloors of this planet. We are really excited and happy about this. And the story continues with a fresh and promising signing we made through our friend DPlay. Langenberg is another up and coming young producer from Essen in Germany. So far he has released stuff on Resopal and also on Agnes' label Sthlmaudio. His great remix for Homewreckers showed also his versatility and his dedicated sense for House music. With 'Judgement Day' he combines stripped down grooves with a funky bassline. It's a combination that shows again the essence of dance music -- it's reduced to the max. On the dancefloor it creates an irresistible moment which gets quite emotional in the breakdown. It is a tune that lifts you higher. On the flipside 'Bleachin'' takes you to a rather relaxed journey with twisted harmonies, in pure Ruhrgebiet manner (also known from the tunes of Manuel Tur DPlay). The track builds from deep down and works its way up to the hips to a hypnotic groove."

Swiss producer
Agnès
presents the debut full-length release of his house music project,
Cavalier
.
A Million Horses
will only be released as a double vinyl with an additional CD containing the entire LP plus 9 bonus tracks. Cavalier aka Agnès is known for his deep, dubbed-out minimal techno productions that also explore more house-influenced rhythms and textures. Agnès runs the Geneva-based label Sthlmaudio Recordings and has recently started to collaborate with the Zürich-based label Drumpoet Community under the moniker of Cavalier. Kindly play this album loud and with a lot of bass in a dark room. Liner notes,
Alex Dallas
, Zürich, April 2011 (A&R Drumpoet Community and owner of Zukunft, Zurich): "I met this humble, proud and very interesting guy from Geneva, Switzerland almost 10 years ago at a really crazy club which was called Dachkantine in Zurich. From the first moment, I knew that this guy is one of the few artists who really just follows his pure and dedicated love for music. No compromising, pleasing or bullshitting -- that's Agnès. A great buddy to party with, an open-minded spirit and a truly gifted music producer, live act and DJ. Welcome to his world. For almost a decade he has been pushing boundaries with a raw, deep and cutting edge sound which is always refreshing and truly personal. With his very own Sthlmaudio Recordings he has possibly established a new form of house music which is rooted in spaced-out dub, bouncy boogie as well as in rough techno and has also released many great tracks on the side for labels like Plak, Ornate, Perspectiv and Resopal, to name just a few. The amount of releases is hard to predict as he likes to come up with new project names like
Ray Valioso
,
Benelli
or Cavalier. As Cavalier, he released in 2008 his first EP for us entitled
Ride 'Em
. When we asked him for more tracks to do another 12", he sent us around 40 tunes with a sound which blew us away. Can it get any deeper than this?"

In My Life (feat. Geraldine Roth)

Format:

Price:

Catalog #:
DPC 037EP
AFMB
is back with another real summer tune which features the talented singer
Geraldine Roth
. While listening to "In My Life" you cannot resist the desire to dance the night away. It immediately reminds you of the classic house act
Inner City
and the energy of the track is simply overwhelming. Already tested on club floors with a great reaction. The flipside is dark, edgy and truly underground which provides a nice contrast.

CCO
Title:
The Ruling Ideas
Label:
DRUMPOET COMMUNITY (SWITZERLAND)
Format:
12"
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
DPC 038EP
Zurich-based
Florin Büchel
aka
CCO
(which basically stands for Contra Communem Opinionem), presents four slices of raw Chicago house. It is liquid, sensual music that sounds like machines, always looking for the feeling beyond the beat. His previous releases on Geneva's Plak, EPs on Chicago's Mathematics Recordings, and one EP on Lux Records were properly made analog and dedicated to the vintage sound of the old days. CCO creates a robotic, yet melodic deep sound. Danceable, definitely -- even hypnotic.
Artist:
WASHERMAN
Title:
Kutz From The Basement
Label:
DRUMPOET COMMUNITY (SWITZERLAND)
Format:
12"
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
DPC 039EP
Washerman
is the new project from
Gianni Siravo
, one-half of
Azuni
. His first releases came out in 1998 with his former project
Sequel
, which was at the forefront of the broken twisted house movement. The gentle man from Zurich provides raw, honest and euphoric house music which is bound to the floor. With Washerman, he moves on and presents some truly forward-thinking tunes. These beats are made to kill.
Artist:
DALY, JOHN
Title:
Sunburst
Label:
DRUMPOET COMMUNITY (SWITZERLAND)
Format:
2LP+CD
Price:
$23.00
Catalog #:
DPC 040LP
Fourth album from Ireland's
John Daly
. This double vinyl comes with a CD version of the entire album. Hailing from Cork, Ireland, Daly first surfaced in 2005 on his then newly-founded label, Feel Music. Since then, he has recorded and remixed for numerous labels, including Plak Records, Drumpoet Community, IRR, Mule Musiq, and
François K
's Wave Music, on which he released the acclaimed album
Sea & Sky
in 2009. His music sits somewhere between house music, techno, disco and dub, electronic but still very organic, and extra-deep. Starting out playing in bands, he moved quickly on to his natural environment, the recording studio, and to working with machines, a love of which he retains to this day, still preferring to work with real instruments as opposed to virtual ones.
Sunburst
has been carefully honed on the dancefloors of the world over and presents ongoing explorations of new sounds, tempos and styles.
