"Polaris Pulsation are Maksim's Vasilevikis (aka Max Brannslokker) and Aleksander's Chernishovs (aka Pooka), this Russian music project was created in 2000 and on this 10" they shows us their definition of modern electronic music, and boys and girls outside, this track called 'Cable' is really a great pleasure for the ears....great mixture between older Warp and Toytronic stuff and modern electronica music including lovely melodies, crunchy soundscapes and dazzling fragments... in the vein of supergroups like Black Dog, Cunnigham and Plaid, that should act as referee. On the flip you will find another bomb produced by Tokyo based Hidenobu, who also released on Japanese labels like Flyrec and NS-Com, featuring Urara. Hidenobu himself describes his music as experimental soul music and this characterisation hits the nail on the head....soulful soundscapes and deep strings, a clear bassline and Urara's lovely voice makes this track inimitable...whatever you call this track... soul, deephouse or just modern dance music, this tune offers unequaled opportunities."

"Cute is back! Mo's Ferry's sublabel Fenou returns after a one year break with a new limited 10" vinyl edition. The first releases realize collectors' prices and show a path to a universe of experimental, minimal pop. Dapayk's 'Dehalledretro' is probably known as part of his live set. The calm and reduced, but groovy track emerged from a bunch of loops he's playing with during his performances. It's a proof that shows: minimal is not always made of clean, sterile sounds and dry wood-like tones. Dredl Kibosh's flipside 'I Found You' is spinning around broken beats and intelligent grooves, beyond the klikkaklakka standards. It's a link between four-to-the-floor and downtempo-breakbeat... very soulful."

"Dapayk's 'frickel' beats contrast with the soft e-piano phrases and above all this, there is Midnight's yearning and demanding vocal, as if we would eavesdrop on her dreaming. "Fenou #8 -- Dapayk & Padberg on Fenou -- YES! Following up their brilliant Black Beauty album on Fenou's parent label Mo's Ferry in 2007 and the two album remix records, this is something new and different. OK, the duo already had a Fenou-like moment with the remix of 'Island (feat. Caro)' by Noze. But this A-side 'Sugar' shows exactly what the genre description 'cute minimal electronica' actually means. It's somewhere between clubby, but distinctive electronica beats, a vocal that reveals a definite pop-appeal and some lounge-like tunes. The B-side 'Soir' by Dredl Kibosh is quite different from that. It's a deep and relaxing track developing very slowly to leave a feeling of zero gravity in the end. Thereby it's not as complex as Ezekiel Honig's 'Seaside Pastures Pt.1' on Fenou06, but continues the laid-back side of Fenou in a perfect way. Consequently, the Fenou no.8 is presented as a limited edition of 10" record."

Dixie Yure is contemporary old school house from Seville. With Show Me Satisfaction, Dixie Yure builds a homogeneous and pleasant mixture with classic house elements and vocals. Thanks to the funky improvisations extending over the whole track, you won't get bored even after listening to "Show Me" for the hundredth time -- good for the club AND the couch. "Satisfaction" is a little more reduced than "Show Me," but is enhanced with jazz elements such as pianos and saxophones.

The topic of Salom� fits the two producers Kadebostan & Laolu from Switzerland perfectly. The melodies sway back and forth -- dreamy and full of peace. The rhythm group plays along and even though the vocal phrases retain their own character, they blend into the musical structure as if they were made for these tracks. The A and the B sides show a masterly, crafted arrangement. As usual, the lovingly-designed 10" record is a limited edition and numbered by hand.
