Title: Get Physical-- 2nd Anniversary Label Compilation
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 001CD
Originally released in 2004, Berlin-based label Get Physical celebrated their second anniversary with its first-ever compilation of hits, remixes, as well as a preview of three new artists. The 80-minute turntable mix by Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung aka M.A.N.D.Y. contains 16 original versions of the Get Physical artists M.A.N.D.Y., DJ T., Chelonis R. Jones, Sunsetpeople, Booka Shade, Voltique, Tomas Barfod and Lopazz, including three interpretations of Tiefschwarz, Captain Comatose and Justus Köhncke. Also gracing this mix is Stefan Eichinger aka Lopazz, with his fantastic, Barry White-esque "Take Me Home," which offers further proof of the amazing breadth and compatibility of his inimitably natural analogue sound. Thomas Barfod's track "'The Box" is an amazingly beautiful retro contribution to the compilation, revealing a relatively new side to his music, slotting perfectly into the Get Physical sound coordinates of house, electro and pop. This is the comp that launched a peaked interest in this label -- this is the comp that made everyone Get Physical.

Artist: BOOKA SHADE
Title: Memento
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 002CD
Booka Shade are Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, production masterminds behind the first 13 Get Physical releases. This is their debut full-length, originally released in 2004. On Memento, the two producers observe a healthy balance between pop appeal and experimentation, concocting an unusual blend of modern 4/4 sketches and timeless titles. These tracks take us on a journey through time and space, where, in the sprawling universe, elements from different eras and categories seem to meet and merge almost by chance. "Vertigo," based on an obvious disco groove, is swathed in a breathtakingly beautiful, cinematic soundscape of unparalleled drama. "Double Identity" and "Memento" pursue similar paths. Tricky, minimalist rhythm structures support the dense atmospheres suffused by short glimpses of Basic Channel and Detroit references as well as mysterious vocal slivers. Other passages are reminiscent of ravers attacking a Missy Elliot track with a vacuum cleaner, homages to '80s synth pop bands clashing with planet funk, broad psychedelic rock or even minimal trance, always pervaded by fragments ostensibly lifted from fast and furious movie soundtracks. All of this is held together by intense aesthetics, turning Memento into an intoxicating, emotional play of the senses. Memento hits with velvet-coated sucker punches, its prowling, understated menace creates evocative moods mapping out a fresh alternative for electronic music.

Title: Body Language 1
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 003CD
Originally released in 2005. M.A.N.D.Y. are Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung, a producer and DJ duo since 1992. The M.A.N.D.Y. mix compilation Body Language Vol 1. is the first part in a long series of mix compilations on Get Physical geared towards music of the future. Body Language Vol 1. is an affectionate showcase of the Bodmer & Jung DJ skills and sets new standards for all followers of Get Physical.

Artist: DJ T.
Title: Boogie Playground
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 004CD
This is Frankfurt/Berlin-based Thomas Koch's debut full-length release. DJ T., whose name first graced a record sleeve in 2000 as part of a collaboration with Steve Bug, is founder of the deephouse label Get Physical. On Boogie Playground, his passion-drenched, 13-track album, DJ T. allows his inimitable signature style to explore the scope of house. Drawing on elements and vibes from disco, funk and electro but also Chicago, Detroit, Italo and acid house, T. irreverently resurrects the spirit of his formative musical experiences between 1978-1992. Without pandering to prevalent aesthetics, DJ T. has carved his very own niche in the retro universe, but translates this into a framework of contemporary arrangements and sound design. The result: a huge range of different concepts and concoctions. On "Funk On You," Koch swirls funk, disco and Italo fragments into a very organic-sounding whole. "Dark Room" is a moody, minimal/new wave hybrid constantly in danger of drifting towards chaos. "Calling" rolls along on heavy sub bass sequences layered with hypnotic shreds of melody and vocals, while "Neon" balances forceful Chicago and playful neo-acid elements. Finally, "Rave D'amour," is a chopped-up delight with extremely crude liasons of broken beats to form a perfect old school rave chansonette.

Artist: JONES, CHELONIS R.
Title: Dislocated Genius
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 005CD
Originally released in 2005. Chelonis R. Jones was born in New York, but has lived in Europe for the past decade, making his mark as a songwriter, painter and poet. This is his first debut full-length for the Get Physical label. On Dislocated Genius, Jones explores the field of dark, provocative dance music. Highlights include "Blackface," which explores the myth of the womanizing stud cliché of Rn'B and disco music with deep sub bass and twisted FX that growl ever stronger under Jones' riling words and audience applause. The strange and infectious "Middle Finger Music" comes on strong with psychotic noise before pulling back to a controlled beat bristling with glitches and evolving into a strong rumbling bassline and uplifting melody. Within the tuneful 4/4 of "Vultures" are understated beats, sweeping FX and undulating melodies. Stand-out track "Mythologies" is ripe with textured soundscapes, forceful beats and unfussy production. "Deer In The Headlights" is arresting from the opening chords -- deep sub-bass and synth mash with grumbling soundbeds, sci-fi clicks and spacey synths, which underpin Chelonis' haunting vocals. Hugely driven to create, his unique sound and powerful voice is unmistakeable in a rapidly homogenized world.

Artist: M.A.N.D.Y.
Title: Get Physical Vol. II
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 007CD
2006 release. Celebrating Get Physical's fourth year in business, this compilation showcases some of the label's best-known releases of the past year and also gives a hint of what we can expect in 2006. On this fourth anniversary compilation, the label's best-known artists, DJ T., Chelonis Jones, M.A.N.D.Y, and Booka Shade all rub shoulders with upcoming producers, but the goal remains the same: to put out electronic club music that hits you in the heart, head and feet. It's another full body workout, expect to get sweaty! Mixed by Philipp Jung and Patrick Bodmer, aka M.A.N.D.Y, the compilation isn't about big tunes or big names. Instead, it reflects the long A&R process Get Physical, spearheaded by DJ T., put in to find new talent. Jonathan from Belgium leads the charge of upcoming producers with "Yellowstone," which wields shimmering, euphoric synths and a niggling guitar riff over a live funk bassline and "Learning By Mistakes," which features on his recently released debut EP for the label, "The Learnings," and is based on loose, glitchy beats and a recycled trance buildup. Looking to the future and providing a reminder of their recent achievements, Get Physical Vol II shows that after four years, this label still knows how to keep it physical.

Title: Body Language 2
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 008CD
2007 release. Get Physical co-founder DJ T aka Thomas Koch follows M.A.N.D.Y's first Body Language mix from last year with his first-ever mix compilation. Koch looks to Detroit for the warm, weeping bass and mournful vocal of the mix opener, The Other People Place's "Let Me Be Me" by the deceased former Drexciya member James Stinson and the euphoric Carl Craig remix of "Falling Up" by Theo Parrish midway through. In contrast, the finale is the smart acid rework by Isoleé of Villalobos' melancholic "What You Say..." and a warm, snaking remix by DJ Koze of Heiko Voss' pop techno standard, "I Think About You" combine for an exquisite, emotional climax. In between this are gems and future classics: 1998's haunting vocal house of DJ Naughty's remix of Stella's "Extralife," as well as the dirty, bleepy Chicago groove of ASP's "Reality Check." Also find the moody bass and Italo chords of Tensnake's "Around The House," and the subtle trance builds of Gui Boratto's "Arquipelago" on Kompakt. The German DJ's production skills are also in the spotlight with the inclusion of the evocative "Marsha" by Einzelkind, and so on. Of course, this ability to pick and mix the right tunes would mean nothing without presentation and context: sure, Body Language Vol. 2 is indicative of pretty much everything that is great about European electronic music -- check the fusion of stripped back minimalism and futuristic soulful vocal on the Barlz E Syntho remix of Spektrum's "Horny Pony" and the chiming, squelchy "Sweet Cow" by Chicken Lips -- but it never delves into deep self-indulgence. It's possible to enjoy this mix on a hot beach as much as you could in a sweaty basement club and that says it all about Body Language 2: it's music for the head, heart and feet for house music lovers all over the world.

Artist: FUCKPONY
Title: Children of Love
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 009CD
2006 release. Fuckpony is the latest project by US producer in Berlin Jay Haze and his Swiss collaborator, Samim. Children of Love takes a trip through the roots of dance music, so hold on tight! Haze and Samim are best known for their stripped back, quirky techno on Haze's Contexterrior and Tuning Spork labels, but for Fuckpony, they wanted to try something different. Children Of Love is an album inspired by dance music's evocative, emotional past. Detroit techno snuggles up to deep house textures, Chicago claps and drums get cozy with raw acid lines, mournful synths accompany soulful, tripped out vocals. "We're in an era of robots and machines, so we're trying to step back in time and go back to dance music's roots," Jay explains. The album is richly musical, strangely familiar and undoubtedly infectious -- "Ride The Pony" and "Cellphone Hit" are tuneful tracks, boasting the futuristic techno brushstrokes that one would expect from Haze and Samim. "We have our ears on the future, but the real inspiration is old house music," Jay says, while Samim sees the release as a break from the norm. "It's like a retreat, a holiday from making minimal music. Parts of it are minimal, but Fuckpony allows us to show something different of ourselves." Children Of Love isn't solely about house music: listen to the nagging bass on the deep-fried acid of "Freaky Story Of Earth" and it's clear that Funkedelic's psychedelic groove left a big impression on the pair. Featuring vocals from Big Bully, Shaniqua and Lil Dirrty Ghetto Bastard, Jay and Samim believe that they have created something that is not just "tracky and for the dancefloor," but a lasting body of work that their friends and family can appreciate. Now is the time to share the love with Fuckpony.

Title: Monza Club Ibiza Compilation Vol. 1
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 010CD
This is London-based Heidi's debut mix CD, Monza Club Ibiza Compilation Vol. 1, on Get Physical. After setting up shop at the Phonica record store in central London three years ago, Heidi's profile as a DJ grew, leading to gigs in Berlin and appearances at the Monza Club in Frankfurt, run at the time by DJ T. and Patrik Dechent from Sunsetpeople, another Get Physical artist. When Patrik moved to Ibiza, he set up the Monza night there, where Heidi also played. Informed by the same open-mindedness that persuaded her to check out a rave in Windsor ten years ago and which changed her life, Heidi's mix harkens the exciting freshness of the Ibiza climate, avoiding repetition and never staying in one place for too long. "It's representative of a three-hour set that I would play -- but that also depends on where you're playing and who you DJ with. I wanted to showcase all the different styles of music I'm into." she claims. Monza certainly flows through a range of house and techno styles and emotions. From Dennis Ferrer and Kerri Chandler's breathy, sensuous house to the ominous bass of Martin Landsky's "1,000 Miles," the reduced funk of John Tejada's "Forced Fiction," Heidi and Riton's jacking "Vejer" -- recorded especially for the mix -- and Erol Alkan's upbeat, summery remix of Hot Chip, Heidi isn't afraid to diversify. She doesn't restrict herself to brand new tunes either, and the mix starts with Carl Craig's seminal 1990s version of Maurizio's "Domina." Disinterested in fads and fashions, Heidi's biggest hope for Monza is that, like the "Domina" remix, in a disposable world, it becomes timeless. "That would be my biggest aspiration for the mix, that in five years' time, someone will pick it up, listen to it and it'll still sound fresh," she says. "I still listen to old Andrew Weatherall mixes and they're fresh, and I hope the same thing happens with Monza." Other artists include: Darkmountaingroup, Fuckpony, Moritz Piske, Tobias, Cobblestone Jazz, Marc Houle and Alex Under.

Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 013EP
2004 release. DJ T with the help of long-time production partner, Booka Shade. The A-side "Get Lost" begins with the trademark bass line, reminding one of the themes/pages culled from the 1988 acid house movement. The B-side, "Phantomas" fights in contrast to the previous, with a nearly seven-minute real-sound drums/punk attitude/disco sequence to unhinge even the firmest clubfloor panels.

Artist: SUNSETPEOPLE
Title: Mifune
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 016EP
Originally released in June, 2004. "After two collaborations with M.A.N.D.Y., GPM 016 features the first independent project by Patrick Dechent aka Sunsetpeople. While 'Mifune' continues Sunsetpeople's characteristic mix of dub and deepness, it is also more demanding and ecstatic. Patrik's production partner Booka Shade adds crisp, electronic elements, distinct chords and dominant vocoder vocals which make this techno/house hybrid work in both camps, energetically bridging the gap between prime time and after hour. For the B-side, Martin Landsky, German keeper of the old school Chicago house Grail, contributes a mix based on snippets of the original's essential elements -- its clear-cut killer groove nails the crowd to the floor without losing the gist of the original's dubby character. Jack your body!"

Title: Body Language 7
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 025CD
2008 release. Matthew Dear's eagerly-awaited Body Language mix is a very personal selection, and one which reflects his own artistic interests, concerns and strategies. In a sense, he approached the project literally, seeking to explore aspects of both the "body" and "language" in his selection and ultimately achieve a marriage of the two. Matthew's celebrated 2007 album Asa Breed was remarkable in its organic synthesis of vocals and house grooves, and that same synthesis lies at the heart of this mix; if you listen carefully, you'll hear that every track featured on Body Language 7 employs a vocal or "language" of some kind -- some explicit and pronounced, some broken down or indistinct. Meanwhile, the mix's rhythmic default is one of sinewy, dancefloor-aimed 4x4 grooves, "body" music at its purest and most devastating. Artists: Dinamoe, Kalabrese, Sascha Dive, Samuel Davis, Kid Sublime, Johnny D, Martinez, Diz, Johnny D, Mlle Caro & Franck Garcia, Radio Slave, Prompt, DJ Koze, I:Cube, Soulphiction, Two Armadillos, Seth Troxler, Patrick Russell, Even Tuell, Basti Grub and Lorenzo.

Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 026CD
2009 release. Final Song goes to the very heart of music's spiritual dimension by asking a number of musicians to select their ideal last song, either to serenade their final moments or to memorialize them after the fact. The participating artists deserve to be commended for their openness: they're responding to one of the most personal questions one could ask. (Several of those approached declined to take part; taboos are taboos, after all.) Song selections were chosen by DJ T., Gilles Peterson, Storm, DJ Hell, Kevin Saunderson, Laurent Garnier, Chloé, David Holmes, Ewan Pearson, Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Francois K and Coldcut. Title: Hard For Justice
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 028CD
2009 release. Revolving around Bristol, UK-based producer/multi-instrumentalist Guy Bartell, Bronnt Industries Kapital has spent eight years exploring deep frosts of electro-acoustic melancholy, slow-burning sonic terrain and uncharted detours into the absurd. Hard For Justice, however, will blow away any lingering preconceptions with a phallic flourish of a Colt 45. In open homage to the spirit of '80s Hollywood vigilante cinema, low-rent sci-fi, Italian fright flicks and the music of Goblin, Neu! and Giorgio Moroder, this eight-track suite is precision-engineered to unleash endless horror on the dance floor. Hard For Justice is front-loaded with an arsenal of synth-funk bullets that fizz with thrilling John Carpenter electronics ("An Index Of Corporate Art," "Knights Of Vipco," "Streets Of Fury"), low-end motorik finesse ("Objects & Purpose") and HI-NRG Giallo-disco pulsations ("S.T.R.Y.K.E.R.").

Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 029CD
2009 release. Though Damian Lazarus' grounding in house and techno is apparent throughout, Smoke The Monster Out is really a song-based affair, full of unusual acoustic instrumentation and delicately wrought arrangements, which Lazarus wrote with collaborator Arthur Jeffes - - son of the Penguin Café Orchestra's Simon Jeffes. The Crosstown Rebels boss has taken a long view of his life as a music-lover, drawing on older influences as diverse as Photek, Jeff Buckley and Bjork, taking their essence and suffusing it with the twisted dancefloor alchemy we associate with his DJ sets. Perhaps most significantly, not to mention surprisingly, Lazarus himself sings on several of the album's tracks, investing his songs with his own distinct personality and quiet expressiveness. This is Damian Lazarus as you've never heard him before.

Title: The Inner Jukebox
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 030CD
2009 release. Get Physical co-founder DJ T. returns with his second album, The Inner Jukebox, a singular and accomplished set that reflects its maker's ongoing interest in rigorously re-inventing classic sounds for modern ears and dancefloors. After four years of 12" releases and collaborative experiments, DJ T.'s full-length follow-up to 2005's Boogie Playground is upon us. While Boogie Playground was an exploration of T.'s '70s and '80s influences, a melting-pot of styles that touched upon electro, disco, Italo and funk, The Inner Jukebox draws inspiration from the '90s and is a more focused adventure -- it's T.'s vision of house music as it should be. So much "house" is really just glorified minimal techno, vibe-killing in its meticulousness; by contrast, the tracks which comprise The Inner Jukebox are bold, vivid, expressive. They're cerebral and carefully crafted, yes, but more importantly they have a bounce and sexiness to them. T. has always sought to make proper, no-nonsense dance music with real groove at its heart -- and The Inner Jukebox finds him fully realizing that ambition.

Title: Get Physical 7th Anniversary Compilation
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 031CD
Get Physical Music turned seven years old in 2009, having released over 100 singles and over 25 albums. To celebrate this landmark anniversary, M.A.N.D.Y. put together a dynamic 24-track compilation showcasing what the label does best. The clue is in the name: Physical is first and foremost about moving people: their hearts, their minds, their behinds. The 7th Anniversary Compilation is centered around material from the label's last three years, and features contributions not only from stalwarts like DJ T. and Booka Shade but also friends, extended family and newcomers. The emphasis throughout is on danceability; you'll find bona fide club anthems -- Patrice Bäumel's "Roar" and Booka Shade's "Duke" among them -- alongside lesser-known bombs, like Matthew Dear's "Free To Ask," a track recorded specially for his 2008 Body Language compilation. Tracks exclusive to this CD include a new remix of Damian Lazarus's "Neverending" by M.A.N.D.Y. and Alexkid, and a "Saxed Up" version of Dakar's club killer "I've Got That Feeling." Other artists featured are Fuckpony, Audiofly X, Jona, Booka Shade, Einzelkind, Meat, Thomas Schumacher, Siopis, Chelonis R. Jones, Riton, Heidi, Laurie Anderson, Reboot, Elektrochemie, Patrice Bäumel, Mac Neumann, Italoboyz, Tiger Stripes and Elbee Bad.

Artist: MODESELEKTOR
Title: Body Language 8
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 032CD
2009 release. Modeselektor should require very little introduction. The Berlin-based duo of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary have destroyed so many dancefloors around the world that their reputation precedes them, and as producers, too, their stature has grown and grown. They've released two critically-acclaimed albums -- Hello Mom! and Happy Birthday! -- and collaborated with the likes of Thom Yorke and Paul St Hilaire. Somehow or another, Modeselektor still find time to be among the best, most reliably party-smashing DJs on the planet. Their contribution to Get Physical's Body Language mix series is a riotous, bass-heavy affair, one which takes in all kinds of interesting developments in cutting edge contemporary dance music. Artists include: Rustie , Missy Elliott, Osborne , Boy 8 Bit, Felix Da Housecat, Alex Cortex , G-Man , Norman Nodge , Benga , Peverelist , Untold , MOVES!!! , Busta Rhymes , Joker, Mark Pritchard & Om'mas Keith , Djedjotronic/Dorian Concept , Horsepower Productions , Robert Hood , Major Lazer , Boys Noize, Siriusmo , Marcel Dettman , Scuba , Animal Collective and Si Begg vs Juice Aleem .

Artist: OHARA & THE ODD ORCHESTRA, RAZ
Title: II
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 033CD
2009 release. Raz Ohara and his Odd Orchestra return for their second album for Get Physical, II. II is the follow-up album to the critically acclaimed self titled Raz Ohara & the Odd Orchestra CD that is considered being one of the album highlights in 2008. It's a warm, organic collection of avant-garde, open-hearted pop music which positively teems with life, a forest of pleasures and possibilities which you'll want to lose yourself in indefinitely. II is certainly less melancholic than its predecessor -- it's imbued with good feeling, energized by the rhythms and cadences of summer and the great outdoors -- but it's not euphoric, there is an underlying note of caution, of trepidation. This emotional mix is what makes the record so powerful, especially when allied to a similarly ambiguous musical mix that imperceptibly melds folk, classic pop, electro-acoustic experimentation and modernist electronics. 10 beautiful songs plus a special download (code included in the artwork) of the single Miracle make this album a perfect journey through the winter days.

Artist: DJ HELL
Title: Body Language 9
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 034CD
2010 release. DJ Hell bestrides modern techno like a colossus: he's more than just a producer or a DJ, he's an icon, too big and individual a personality to be accommodated by any one micro-scene. Hell doesn't just represent a type of music, he represents a whole lifestyle, aesthetic and worldview -- and Body Language Vol. 9 is perhaps the closest any disc has yet come to capturing that totality. Hell's entry in Get Physical's ongoing Body Language mix series arrives in a period of considerable artistic achievement. He brings an ambition and breadth of vision to Body Language Vol. 9, culling tracks from different eras and scenes and focusing them into a veritable laser-beam of pure passion and flair. There are plenty of recent productions amid the selection -- Dixon, Will Saul, Christian Prommer all feature -- but the goal here isn't merely to take the temperature of the times; it's to create a rich, entertaining and future-proof listening experience. And so we are given a considerable insight into Hell's roots: from Klaus Schulze's kosmische epic "Stargazer" to David Sylvian's "Forbidden Colours" (taken from the Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence soundtrack), via majestic Depeche Mode instrumental "Esque" and -- in one of the album's several flashes of wry humour -- the Balanescu Quartet's incredible chamber-music rendition of Kraftwerk's "The Robots." Hell also digs deep into his collection and pulls out some of the most righteous, jacking dancefloor material you'll ever hear. Baby Ford & Eon's UK techno classic "Dead Eye," King Britt's string-heavy, funked up remix of Josh One, DJ Assassin's skipping house jam "Face In The Crowd" (Intellidread Mix), the acid-fried disco of Daniel Wang's "Warped" -- this mix is "edutainment" in the truest and best sense, and a pupil-dilating reminder of why Hell is one of the world's most enduringly popular techno DJs. This is a journey into the heart of Hell -- and it's pure heaven.

Artist: BARFOD, TOMAS
Title: Neon Strobe
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 034EP
2005 release. Danish producer Tomas Barford's second single on Get Physical. On "Neon Strobe," hissing snares, acid funk and growling bassline combine with pulsing synths for a dirty peaktime cut. "Mind The Others" opens with tapping percussion and rolling drum breaks gradually build strength with the analogue bassline and electronic melody. On the flip, "For Your Eyes" kicks off with thumping drum rhythm and tingling snares. "Trancer" clicks and snares create an off kilter rhythm that builds with a growling bassline, orbiting sound textures and whirring synths punctuated by delicate chimes.

Artist: NOZE
Title: Dring
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: GPM 035CD
This is the fourth album by Nôze, the Parisian duo of Nicolas Sfintescu (aka DJ Freak), founding member of Circus Company and Ezechiel Pailhès. Since the release of their 2008 album Songs On The Rocks, the duo have developed like good wine, full of maturity and sophistication, asserting their character in a renewed fashion, with more depth and subtlety. Make no mistake about it, Nôze are still Nôze, they have simply swapped their colorful electro-cosmopolite entertainer costumes for the no less flattering attire of velvety pleasures and joyous melancholy and a re-emergence of their first love -- improvised music. The fellas have quieted down a bit after two crazy years touring the world, and deliver a brilliant, multi-headed album. Dring was born from multiple encounters and collaborations, disrupting the duet's recording routine: if the "Nôze sound" is resolutely turned towards instrumental music, this time the pair gave their friends complete freedom, as title after title, recording session after recording session, Nôze gradually became more of a "real" group with shifting and porous boundaries -- a spontaneous process, which progressively became this album's backbone, also an opportunity to express their gratitude to the worlds of jazz and improvised music and highlight the talent of their faithful collaborators: Thibaut Frisoni (guitar), Alexandre Authelain (sax and clarinet), Matthias Mahler (trombone) and Emiliano Turi (drums). Nôze now travels along the edge of house music, playfully making light of its codes, and more broadly making light of the codes of all festive musical genres that cross their path (cumbia, klezmer, reggae) and especially their own musical vocabulary: reviving the jazzy and experimental ardor of the early days, now sustained by the demands and maturity of accomplished musicians and performers that made their success and fame. With this album, Nôze offer themselves at their very quintessential best, where technical and musical virtuosity constantly share the limelight with the light-hearted but profound expression of joy, celebration and melancholy. Featuring contributing artists Riva Starr, Wareika and dOP.

Artist: SUNSETPEOPLE
Title: Orion
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 035EP
Originally released in 2005. Sunsetpeople aka Patrik Dechent is back with the follow up to last year's excellent Mifune. Working in the studio with Get Physical's Booka Shade as his production partner, the package is a characteristic mix of Sunsetpeople's dub deepness in a 4/4 setting. "Orion" features delicate percussion, burbling electronics and spacey atmospheres driven by a deep sub bass. On the flipside, the low slung groove of "Salty Dog" may be recognizable from the recent M.A.N.D.Y. Body Language compilation. The simple bassline groove builds gradually through canine atmospherics with acid squelches and sparkling textures.

Artist: SCHUMACHER, THOMAS
Title: Get Physical 8
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 036CD
2010 release. Get Physical's 8th annual Anniversary Compilation represents the Berlin label's dancefloor legacy and its bright future with 19 tracks, 7 of which are previously unreleased, from familiar names, old friends and fresh talent. With longtime DJ, producer and labelmate Thomas Schumacher at the helm, the compilation is guided by his expert hand through seamless mixes and astute selections. M.A.N.D.Y.'s Philipp Jung and Matthew Dear team up as M.A.N.D.E.A.R. for the opening track, crafting the hyped unreleased number "Buddies," fusing deep hypnotism with swirling hints of cosmic disco. Thomas segues this perfectly into the filtered loops and precipitous drops of Lee Curtiss' "The Disco Dub," and the early Chicago house stylings of Delete's Kindisch release "Lunchbox." Andy Cato's "Bassline Track" is a shot in the arm and a raise of the stakes, as the Groove Armada gentle giant shrugs off the shackles of calm, chilled grooves for mutated bass lanes and a full frontal sonic kick, which lays the spiky groundwork for the tweaked and reverbed proto-electro of Detroit upstart Kris Wadsworth with "It's Time." Schumacher's own loopy cut-up jam "You Got Me" slips sideways into "Make Me," where Emerson Todd and Tim Green reveal a secret breakdown of free jazz, before its heavy drums descend into the deep tribal stomp of Steed Lord's "You". Thomas' melodic electro house edit of his own Elektrochemie project blooms in rich, full color, before the metallic tones of Booka Shade's "In Space Remix" of their own "Teenage Spaceman" reveals the very best. Shifting effortlessly from DJ to selector, Thomas then proceeds to cherry pick the best Get Physical moments for the morning after the night before. An emotional piano chord introduces Nôze in quirk balladeer mode, with a pop version of "Kitchen," before the heartfelt, slowed-down electronic pop of Damian Lazarus' "After Rave Delight." Raz Ohara and the Odd Orchestra deliver stripped back soul that slowly builds into static and lush orchestration, while a meeting of mind sees DJ T.'s "Gorilla Hug" remixed by wunderkind Nicolas Jaar, for a treatment that gives a nod to vintage electro-funk grooves. Nôze make another cameo appearance with a rework from Matthias Kaden, which progresses from beat-boxed acapellas to Kaden's trademark minimalistic latin house, while Lopazz' affecting 2007 synth-laden track "Wasted Days" both proves yet again why he's a treasured member of the GP family, and closes out the mix.

Artist: AUDIOFLY
Title: Follow My Liebe
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: GPM 039CD
Audiofly's album debut has been a long time coming. Not just because Luca Saporito and Anthony Middleton share nine years of production history, but because of the sheer volume and sonic breadth of the anthems, EPs and sought-after remixes that they have amassed throughout their illustrious career -- Audiofly are true veterans of the scene. Follow My Liebe is the long-awaited long-form passion project that references all shades of the Audiofly spectrum: from their dirty, jacking techno to the sleeker, dubbier, minimal tones of Audiofly X and deeper still to the sound design and ambient atmospheres that the duo have never before revealed. Follow My Liebe spans electro-pop, techno, dub and downtempo, but is held together by the deep indigo tones, twilight atmospheres and early morning stillness that are present throughout. The title track takes its cues from sun-drenched Balearic vibes, with space aplenty for sea breezes, languid sunsets and hummed choruses. Over its pulsing guitar, shadows and whispers elongate and disappear into whisps of cosmic trails. "Kiss And Tell" raises the tempo to slow house, but still steps lightly with rhythmic sweeps, delicate ride cymbals, and a faraway duet of hand and voice, before taking a sharp turn left, then down into fractured rhythms, distorted sounds and quickening bass tones. "Fela" finds its rhythmic grounding in the organic fusion of chattering voices and the peaks and troughs of Rhodes, for an Afrobeat-infused slow-house burner, while the late-night tech house of "Black Cat" is fuelled by bass pulses that chug rhythmically, and the intricate synth play that weaves around them. "My Happy Place" and "Talktome" and are primed and ready for the dancefloor, rolling heavy and deep, the latter with snaky, shimmering percussion, distant drums, and a rolling, infectious beat that rewrites itself, landing gently in a bed of pealing, humming melodies. "Lo-Rise" is a workout of pure tribal hypnotism, with solid shafts of dub reverb that shift in and out and combine with vocal snips and chirping, piping noises for a solid quirk-house number. Vocals are an integral part of Follow My Liebe's character, and provide its most affecting, personal moments. "6 Degrees" reveals melancholic electronic pop at its most devastating, and the lulling reggae vocals of Shaun Parkes enhance the downtempo dub and ambient tones of "Sense And Vision," which is textured by subtle percussion and live instrumentation; while "Puddle Of Diamonds" harnesses the gentle power of a husky, jazz-toned femme that lingers in the memory long after the slinky sighs, deep house rhythm and floating percussive elements have finished. Audiofly have followed their hearts and their melodic instincts for Follow My Liebe, crafting an assured debut that makes a seamless transition from DJ fare to home-listening and back again, with expert ease. Also featuring Fiora Cutler and Cari Golden.

Artist: DJ T.
Title: The Pleasure Principle
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: GPM 040CD
Get Physical's DJ T. unveils his third album which includes collaborations with Dave Aju, Jaw (dOP), James Teej, Khan, Nick Maurer and Cari Golden. The Pleasure Principle immerses itself, wholly and rapturously, into electronic music's legacy of authentic soul, helping to usher in a new renaissance of groove-heavy deepness, at a time when clinical club sounds are at their least inspired. Traces of T.'s production finesse can be found in the most soothing washes of ambient tones, the soaring vocal treatments, the murkiest late-night moments, and at the center of The Pleasure Principle's delicate melodies. "Same Plane," featuring dOP prankster Jaw and his girlfriend Amandine (aka Ginger), is a flurry of offset beats and hand claps, a rhythmic hall of mirrors that finds his deep, soulful vocals nestled at the center of stuttering staccato rhythms, woven with whispers. Nick Maurer lights up "Burning" with a twist, as he is doubled, tripled, pitched-down and distorted. "Yesterday Tomorrow" features Dave Aju's preacher man spoken-word duelling with piano stabs, combining the stomp and swagger of electro funk with an unmistakable early house framework, while "Citylife" recalls the early '80s warehouse era, and finds American vocalist Cari Golden crooning, siren-like. Jaw's second appearance "Remember The Future" is mottled with daybreak dew, and its morning rainforest sounds are illuminated by dappled shafts of sonic light, piping mid-tones and ambient, swirling organ chords. Khan adds his grizzled charm to "Leavin Me" coloring deep tech tones with a tale steeped in longing and regret, for a new take on dubby blues house. The Pleasure Principle is also interspersed with a number of instrumental productions. With its half-stepping beat and unique synth melody "Opera Buffa" evokes late nights and rain-slicked city streets, and shorter atmospheric instrumentals "Unconditional Love," "Nothing Comes Even Close" and "Pattern Exit Drama" variously take on low-slung cosmic disco, nostalgic slow jams, and proto-dancefloor moments in time. Whether it's experienced during one DJ T.'s many forthcoming live appearances, in a darkened club, in a quiet moment, at the beginning of the night, or the morning after it, The Pleasure Principle can be found at the very axis of mind and body, and musical soul.

Artist: M.A.N.D.Y.
Title: Body Language 10
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: GPM 041CD
Get Physical's highly prolific Body Language mix CD series returns to M.A.N.D.Y. who started it all in 2005. Get Physical's iconic Body Language mixes have all functioned like snapshots in time, capturing defining moments of club sounds throughout the series' six-year history. For the 10th milestone edition of Body Language, Get Physical is going back to its roots, and back to its origins, placing Body Language Vol. 10 in the gifted hands of Philip Jung & Patrick Bodmer, best known as M.A.N.D.Y. -- Get Physical co-founders, lifelong friends, masterful DJs and expert selectors. Through deep, thrumming tech house, vocal excursions, Detroit electro, touches of disco and smatterings of downtempo, M.A.N.D.Y. demonstrate yet again why they are so in-demand on the international club and festival circuit. Starting with the thundering piano chords and jazz percussion of Brandt Brauer Frick's "Paparazzi" they seamlessly mix into the pensive melodies and underwater trumpet of Nicolas Jaar's remix of Maceo Plex's "Gravy Train," which then bleeds into the deep swing, disco bass and cowbells of Kid Bliss' "Discoshit." Extrawelt's deep dub tones on "My Stupid" make for an unexpectedly harmonious union with "Home," an exclusive cut from M.A.N.D.Y. vs. Booka Shade that marks the foursome's first collaboration in several years. The Latin percussion and uplifting synth melody of Elon's "Clap Back" breaks free, racing towards a hands-in-the-air peak. Carl Craig's storming rework of Ramadanman & Appleblim's "Void 23" is a perfectly-pitched follow-up, and Roman Flügel's remix of Darabi's "Top Drop" takes it into sinister territory with flares and smears that break the melodic accents out of their boundaries. After taking a sharp left turn into the murky industrial sounds of Brendon Moeller's "Mainline" (Robag's Relokk Tokk Mikks), the deep drama is juxtaposed by DJ Koze's trademark eccentricity, as "Der Wallach" bumps with loose-limbed jazziness and quirky arrangements. Patrice Bäumel's electro-inspired "To Insanity And Beyond" marks a new chapter, and paves the way for Detroit pioneers Model 500, with their jacking electro breaks number. More programming surprises abound, as the broken beats melt into the deep funk of "Thieve $crilla" by Soul Clap. De Signer follows, with a Robin Porter & Subb-an treatment followed by Franck Roger's "Egotrippin" and Harada's "Conscious Movement." M.A.N.D.Y. proceed to take it deep underground with Marc Houle's wintry and otherworldly "The Next," before lightening the mood again with a snippet of Nicolas Jaar's "Space Is Only Noise If You Can See." The shimmering electronica melodies of Estroe's "Phat" Remix of Rocco Caine's "Fatand 50" gleam and shine, before the track and the mix are pitched down into the suspenseful swan song, Kollektiv Turmstrasse's "Addio Addio." Body Language Vol. 10 is an immersive, intriguing and irresistible snapshot in time of two undisputed veterans of house and techno who will forever remain at the top of their game.

Price: $15.50
Catalog #: GPM 044CD
Heidi presents Jackathon on Get Physical, a rollercoaster ride full of raw funk, shaking out those grooves until you can't stop moving and leaving no question as to who is the true queen of jack. Growing from the loose and family-based Jackathon parties that started in October 2010 and now holding residencies in Berlin and London, the Jackathon is about energy and feeling and expressing something that lurks deep in the soul. Featuring 16 exclusive tracks from Heidi's closest peers and artists that helped shape Jackathon's journey, the compilation showcases music from Juan MacLean, Jamie Jones, Soul Clap, Solomun, Deetron, Anja Schneider & And.id, label mates DJ T plus vocal drops from the legendary Derrick Carter. The first lady of BBC Radio 1 and a major female force in dance music, Heidi invites you to move your body, and when she asks, there's not many that can refuse. Introduced personally by one of the kings of house music, Derrick Carter, this is an invigorating journey into the roots of music culture as it is influenced by the schools of '90s New York style hip-hop and house (Juan MacLean's "Love In Tatters"), funk (Soul Clap's "Incoming Bitch"), and acid (DJ T feat. Nick Maurer "High"), exploring new realms for jacking music (Steve Bug's "Jack Is Back"). Referencing where it all began in the infamous lyrics of Fingers Inc., The Jackathon takes you through the ages and features original vocal drops made for the mix by the one and only Derrick Carter, who has been a major inspiration to Heidi. Title: Tango or Cash
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 048EP
Two of Finland's most respected house music producers, Jori Hulkkonen and Tuomas Salmela, get together for their Get Physical debut. Discemi combines Jori's love of deep, melodic techno and house with Tuomas' tracky, electrohouse grooves. The title track starts the EP in tough mode, powered by a prowling bassline and tight claps, with scary metallic techno rhythms. "Silver Ghost" still has a moody, mysterious feeling, but its bleepy, electronic bass is more groovy and chugs along to the sound of sweet, chiming melodies. Close your eyes and imagine the bumping funk of underground Chicago with the evocative hooks of European trance and you're close to the sound of "The Deepity Pt. 2."

Artist: NOZE
Title: Body Language 11
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: GPM 049CD
French duo Nôze unleashes the latest installment in Get Physical's successful Body Language mix CD series. M.A.N.D.Y., Get Physical bosses and Body Language compilation investigators asked Nico, the DJ from the duo, to take a close look at the eleventh opus of this cult series which has already hosted some very gifted artists. The result: an almost 75-minute eclectic love declaration where most of the musical obsessions of the French duo are gathered. By choosing Nôze, M.A.N.D.Y. made a good call. As Nico himself explains: "I tried to combine classic Get Physical sounds with Circus Company ideas, but also the Nôze touch and tracks that I would only play as a DJ, like for instance, the one from Dennis Ferrer and Jerôme Sydenham "A Drumstick And A Light Future," which is a very old school track, one of these good-old American house-y tracks. I tried to bring all this together, giving the mix a story, and a unifying theme at the same time." From the opening jam-session-techno of "HMG 2," first glimpse of Hemingway, the new keyboard/drum-machine-electronic drum project from Ezéchiel and Nico with drummer Emiliano Turi, to Ornette's "Crazy" remix, this eleventh opus of the Body Language series is filled with nuggets carefully edited by the DJ/producer and does not sound like one of those simple '90s mixtapes. Throughout the listening, you meet some tempting UFOs, like the cult "Tu Veux Ou Tu Veux Pas" from French jazzman Zanini or the sparkling "Amor Do Olinda," a mysterious track devised by Nico. The rest is a perfectly-balanced mix between downtempo house and deep techno inspirations. Other artists include: Alejandro Mosso, Nicolas Jaar, Ian Simmonds, JC Freaks, Dave Aju, The Revenge, Oliver Koletzki & Fran, Marek Hemmann, Alex Niggemann, Ruede Hagelstein (feat. Meggy), Tiefschwarz, Makossa & Megablast (feat. Hubert Tubbs), Dixie Yure, Lump, dOP, Âme and Siopis.

The fresh faced wunderkind from Belgium returns to deliver more futuristic house music to Get Physical. "Tizia" shows glitchy, fragmented percussion and beautiful melodies, taking the listener on a trip to the rings of Saturn, but the pulsing, resonating bass transports them back down to earth and into the middle of a sweaty club. "North Love" is a sexy, sensuous house groove full of Balaeric warmth and a little touch of Detroit. The last track with its acid undercurrents, seductive trance riffs, and cut-up percussion is tailor-made for only the most tripped-out dancefloor moments.

Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"

Lopazz aka German producer Stefan Eichinger releases his third EP for Get Physical. The title track is one of the warmest electronic tracks you'll hear in 2007, with its combination of sweet, uplifting chords that nod to classic deep house and a squelchy, bass-heavy groove. "Gimme Gimme" presents tough, stomping drums that play host to a swirling, layered synth riff which brings the listener to a psychedelic parallel universe. Finally, Isolée delivers a remix of "Share My Rhythm." It's the clubbiest remix he has done recently, with a pulsing, dubby rhythm underpinning Lopazz's beautiful chords.

Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 065EP
Get Physical co-founder DJ T. aka Thomas Koch releases his long-awaited first solo 12" taken from his forthcoming album, expected in the summer of 2007. "Lucky Bastard" jacks freshly along to the sound of a cut-up vocal, glitchy percussion, deep building chords and a soaring bassline. Berlin's Prosumer takes the track to a deeper area. As the brooding riff and spiraling acid lines come to the fore, his unique use of rhythm and hissing percussion take it to another level. Finally, T.'s own "Disaster Dub" puts forth tight metallic drums that shuffle towards a series of dramatic, chord-driven breakdowns.

Artist: MEAT VS. EINZELKIND
Title: Meat Is Murder EP
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00

Taking its name from an album by The Smiths, these three tasty cuts will sizzle on the dancefloor. The first track showcases a prowling, squelchy bass, underpinning deep chords that build and build until they hit a huge break down. The third track progresses from breakbeats into a driving tribal groove. With the last track, the duo's beats are reduced to the minimum, using a drum-heavy groove and a wild analog techno riff that is impossible to escape.

Title: Evidence EP
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 068EP
Get Physical's Belgian protégé strikes again with a release that brings together deepness and contemporary beat programming, more evidence that he's one of Europe's finest new producers for this refreshing style of warm and melodic club tunes. The title track starts off gradually, first as a mournful electronic soundscape that recalls Carpenter-esque soundtracks as well as early '90s trance moods. With an unexpected, elongated break down and a persuasive, pulsing rhythm, this slice of modern Detroit trance will please all dancefloors. "Smart Cats vs. Dumb Dogs" features more house-based beats, accompanied by a resonating and jumping bassline and evocative old school chords, telling a story of a cosy and organic place, somewhere in the past of the future.

Artist: SEBO K & METRO
Title: Transit EP
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 069EP
The Sebo K and Metro partnership makes its debut on Get Physical with Transit. These upcoming house producers are so hot that this EP almost melts the vinyl that it's pressed on! "Transit" is inspired by old school Chicago house but boasts a modern techno approach to arranging with a building, nagging bass riff that will kill any club. Philly producer King Britt dons his Scuba hat to provide the remix: it's more understated than the original version, based on an off-beat groove, but, like a thief slipping through an open door in the middle of the night, Britt's reshape gradually introduces the hypnotic chords. Before you know it, his remix will have seduced any crowd who love deep, electronic house music. Get a move on to pick up this future house classic.

Artist: DJ T.

Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 071EP
DJ. T presents The Dawn, and the title track will usher the dancefloor to the sunrise, whatever time of day or night. Busy, clicky percussion sets the scene for a full-bodied, bassline to take control. "Jam Pot" is more playful, and driven by a classic Physical bass melody -- at once intimate and techy, dubby and dancefloor-urgent, gritty but optimistic. Get Physical score again with two sides of masterful house music from a man who knows.

Artist: KRAMER
Title: Runner EP
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00

He now adopts the Kramer guise to deliver a 3-track EP of smart, electro-influenced minimal house. "Runner" features clicking percussion before urgent hi-hats and hard snares take over and aim the tune squarely at the dancefloor. "Sonne Ist Da" is led by clipped, melodious chords that bubble under the surface and strengthen and rise until they break out, tracked by a fiercer synth line, The EP is rounded-off with "El Pueblo De Bailar" that possesses a conga-led groove that will lock in dancers and home-listeners alike and refuse to let them go.

Artist: DJ T.
Title: The Dawn Remixes
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GPM 075EP
DJ T.'s The Dawn first appeared in early 2007, and now it's time for the remixes. First up, T. himself tackles "Jam Pot." The original was a warm and jazz-inflected take on deep minimal house, and T. retains this essence for the new version, placing different emphasis on the percussion, messing with the structure of the track, and pinching and squeezing certain elements to make it a more robust dancefloor proposition. For a fresh treatment of "The Dawn," Woody, the legendary former resident DJ at Berlin's E-Werk, draws upon the spirit of classic Berlin club music while embracing the deep, melodic minimalism which is the sound of its most discerning clubs today. This is an after-party epic.

Artist: OHARA & THE ODD ORCHESTRA, RAZ
Title: Kisses
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 080EP
Raz Ohara delivers "Kisses" -- a love-worn, electroacoustic lament. Three remixes are provided; two by Philip Bader and one by Pantha Du Prince. Bader takes the subdued mood of the original and raises it to fever pitch. An instrumental mix emphasizes dubby elements and kinetic percussion. Pantha Du Prince re-casts the tune as a piece of elegant, cinematic techno. "Party Is Over," exclusive to this release, is an almost beatless track, highlighting naked vocals and the sounds that cloak it.

Artist: ELEKTROCHEMIE
Title: Get Yourself EP
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 082EP
Elektrochemie is producer Thomas Schumacher and the bewitching vocal presence of Caitlin Devlin. Get Yourself is Elektrochemie's third offering for Get Physical. "Faking" begins in an opiated fashion, flirting with spaced-out tom sounds before a fierce kick-drum gets the show on the road. "No 19" has a clicky 4x4 pattern and is sexy and non-committal. "Get Yourself" features snapclaps, a liquid bass line and synth builds. "My Home" has tectonic bass frequencies and keyboards dubbed to breaking point. Hypnotizing.

Artist: JONA
Title: Manta
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 083EP
Jona is back with Manta -- a sick, expertly crafted new EP. The title track is a peak-time club weapon, with a hard kickdrum, kinetic drum edits and pressurized FX while a dizzying synth motif ravishes the listener into submission. "Amon" is all rolling bass line, acidic synth cycles, crisp percussion, jump-up vocal samples and surging narcotic effects. "Exoplanet Dub" features addictive, zig-zagging melodies guaranteed to turn your dancefloor inside out.

Artist: ITALOBOYZ
Title: Zinga
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 084EP
Italoboyz aka Marco Donato and Federico Marton consolidate their position as dancefloor alchemists par excellence with Zinga for Get Physical. The title track is based around a looped violin, a fat kick-drum and razor-sharp hi-hats that make it a peak-time monster. The "DRAMAdub" is soaked in echo and delay, while a wraith-like counterpoint curls around it. "At De Stella" is a bleepy minimalist number with a no-nonsense groove and a voice listing food items. Italoboyz are masters of the unfamiliar.

Artist: WILLIAMS
Title: El Baile
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 085EP
Scottish producer Williams is back with El Baile for Get Physical. The title track immediately enthralls with its galloping kick, snare and analog bass pattern, and an electro motif that propels it onwards into the heart of the dancefloor. "The Unbearable Truth" is a thrillingly modern, moody take on the straight-up acid track. "Kiss Of Life" features an interplay of synths, kosmische-style chords and a tech-house strut. House music to get lost inside.

Artist: BOOKA SHADE
Title: Planetary/City Tales
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 086EP
Booka Shade return to their roots with a 12" of sheer dancefloor firepower. "Planetary" appears on this 12" in two forms: club and dub. The club mix features low-end tweaks, crowd-hyping drums and a melodic stylophone refrain. The dub mix is a darker, more minimalist affair -- serious, seductive and mind-bending house music. Booka's version of "City Tales" is an uncompromisingly dark but delicate scorcher with a sensuous swing. Booka Shade invites you to chase the night and the neon light.

Artist: JUNIOR BOYS
Title: No Kinda Man
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GPM 087EP
"No Kinda Man" from Junior Boys was first heard on their contribution to Get Physical's Body Language mix series. "No Kinda Man" begins with a stormy low-end rumble broken by a repeated, chiming guitar chord, a spacious, dubby 4x4 rhythm and Jeremy's plaintive, quietly imploring vocal. An added 12-bar blues structure is further proof that Junior Boys' music pays no heed to traditional genre boundaries. Classic, yet utterly contemporary. Jona and Chloé provide remixes.

Artist: LOPAZZ
Title: We Are
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 091EP
Lopazz presents We Are, enlisting the remixing powers of Rex The Dog and Einzelkind. Rex works in fat analog bass, crazy acid lines and chopped-up drums for an epic re-working -- joyous, bug-eyed and maximal. Einzelkind makes use of the original vocals, strapping them to a tough, taut, tech-house progression, with ascending synth-hooks that recall '80s electro-pop at its dystopian best. The original is dramatic and propulsive, with emotive synths, a mutant R&B vocal, and electronic blips and bleeps. Unmissable.

Artist: BAUMEL, PATRICE
Title: Roar
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 092EP
Patrice Bäumel has made a name for himself as a producer of warm, lustrous and dynamic dancefloor music. "Roar" builds suspense with a taut, tense rhythmic backbone, consisting only of a hand-clap and a lisping hi-hat. "Comfortably Uncomfortable" features a tough kick-drum, a panning synth motif and a precision-tooled bass melody. "Clair" swings with a kick-drum offset by Latin percussion patterns and melody. A velvety, synthetic string theme swells into the foreground, making it a deeply atmospheric, dramatic track.

Artist: SIOPIS
Title: Penny From The Lane
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 094EP
This is the debut single from Siopis aka Silversurfer, one half of the dynamic duo Kiki & Silversufer. This release is a blinding blast of genre-bending, futurist dance music dressed with the lascivious vocals of Mr. Brean. Siopis lays down loose tech-funk rhythms and thrumming bass lines against Baltimore booty bass-style vocalist Mr. Brean. Abstracted words and pitched-down vocals are set against sparse, dubbed-out rhythms and warped sub-bass in a way that's highly menacing.

Artist: JONA
Title: Take Five
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 095EP
Jona is back with his fourth release on Get Physical. At the core of "Take Five" is a warm, fluttering piano loop. Around these faintly jazzy chords is a percussive track which nods to the passion and polish of classic '90s house music. "Sunset" boasts a minimalist groove undercut by a raw bass line, tight snares and hi-hats. A dubbed-out organ makes way for a smoky saxophone sample. This is the arrival of night and all the possibilities it entails.

Artist: TIGER STRIPES
Title: Blackroom Entertainment EP
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 097EP
Swedish DJ/producer Mikael Nordgren aka Tiger Stripes presents the Blackroom Entertainment EP, showcasing his ability as a formidable contributor to house music. The title track is more evidence of his programming prowess and ability to mold melodies into a sophisticated groove. "Abacus" is analog in approach with springing tones, a cabal of sci-fi sounds, and thick, modulated analog bass that ups the overall energy. Only a seasoned DJ and knowledgeable producer could fabricate such a convincing theme.

Artist: M.A.N.D.Y. VS BOOKA SHADE (FEAT. LAURIE ANDERSON)
Title: O Superman Remixes - Vinyl 1
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 098-1EP
It remains one of the most inspiring blips in pop history: that a song as weird as Laurie Anderson's "O Superman" could become a mega-selling worldwide hit, loved by the average guy and arty types alike. Now, Get Physical presents the first of a two-volume remix series. Matt John takes a thrillingly direct approach that is experimental and entertaining. M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade's version is a four-to-the-floor workout, and Reboot's mix is spaced-out dub-house with vocodered harmonies that bubble to the surface for a psychedelic finale.

Artist: M.A.N.D.Y. VS BOOKA SHADE (FEAT. LAURIE ANDERSON)
Title: O Superman Remixes - Vinyl 2
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 098-2EP

Artist: ABRIL, GEL
Title: Miranda
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 103EP
Gel Abril presents an exceptional 12" of synth-soaked, bleep-saturated and tech-drenched house, exclusively produced by Shlomi Aber. One can almost get lost in "Miranda" through the rhythmic thudding of the pristine bass drum -- play this peak-time and watch the crowd do the Tel Aviv shuffle. "Dusty" has enough energy to keep the club bumping with a tightly equalized funk-bass guitar that is locked in a room with some techno bleeps. Two meaty chunks of clubland goodness.

Artist: BARFOD & FREDSKI, TOMAS
Title: March On Swan Lake
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 106EP
As the drummer and producer of WhoMadeWho, Tomas Barfod is back with a new studio partner, Fredski. "March On Swan Lake" oozes with the organic sounds of flutes, tambourines and saxophones, cemented by a pumping bass line and smoothly mixed drums -- dub version included. On "Where Tom & Fred Live..." bottom-end percussion takes you on a back road escapade, where Tom and Fred's good buddies -- who all resemble characters from a J.R. Tolkien novel -- all dance to the tumbling beats and rumbling bass.

Artist: LOPAZZ
Title: Credit Card Receipt
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 108EP
Lopazz has been releasing outstanding material since the inception of Get Physical Music in 2002. "You got to be different, if you want to survive," states Jesse Sharps, his deep, raspy drawl shrouding "V-Point" like thick smoke in a bar with no windows. "G-Point" is a straight-up house workout -- jacking snares and percussion unite within a classic form. "Credit Card Receipt" is remixed by The Fix, who dramatize the Detroit-esque pad section and add some extra energy via a hypnotizing synth-stab rhythm.

Artist: AUDIOFLY X
Title: Mar Del Plata
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 110EP
Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito aka Audiofly X return to Get Physical with more ass-wigglin' future-house grooves. Funkified house stabs and one of the most compelling bass lines of the year make up "Mar Del Plata." Nick Curly provides a modern-house remix, gently marinating the track in some classic house flavors by reworking original chord stabs. "Get Smarter" contains confident, organic drum patterns, combined with chopped-up vocals and mild Latin flavors. Audiofly X once again delivers some deadly dancefloor artillery.

Artist: SCHUMACHER, THOMAS
Title: The Ooh
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 113EP
Thomas Schumacher's "The Ooh" is a hypnotic relay race of instruments -- the rapid plucking of an upright bass followed by piano and trumpet continuously filter, warp and modulate to the finish line. "The Ooh" remix comes courtesy of M.in, featuring Harold Todd, who adds some serious low-end rumble. "Sunset" features more trumpet, this time laid upon a bed of finger-snaps, claps and percussion. A minute-long Balkan-style jam band bursts out in the middle of the track, creating an exciting and unexpected juxtaposition.

Artist: BARFOD & FREDSKI, TOMAS
Title: Mr. Fleurquin
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 114EP
Copenhagen's Tomas Barfod & Fredski bring forth "Mr. Fleurquin," a most funky tune. Catz 'N Dogz add their Polish patina to an already-precious black diamond, taking it straight to the club. The vocals circle above like vultures and the bass rumbles below like tremors. "Super Mercado" is a workout of percussion and thunderous sub-bass drops. Sneaky edits keep it rolling, but this a tried-and-true DJ tool that is versatile enough to pick the lock or just smash the door down.

Artist: DJ T.
Title: Bateria
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 115EP
Deriving its name from "drum set" in Portuguese and Spanish, "Bateria" is more than just a couple of jiggles of a chocalho or the shake of a pandeiro. The cadence between the drums and percussion sounds like an ancient tribal language, and vocals are short and sweet. The dOP remix sets the drums in motion. Lastly, "Early Bird" is a deep, introspective tune that epitomizes what DJ T. stands for: layered percussion, crackling snares, and melodically-arranged synthesizer chords.

Artist: CATZ 'N DOGZ (FEAT. POL_ON)
Title: Me
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 116EP
On this 12", accomplished Polish tech-house producers Catz 'N Dogz team up with their homeboys, Pol_On. "Me" features Todd Terry stabs, gospel diva vocals, and a rhythm played with chopped, escalating vocals that will definitely get your hands up. "Kawa Z Gruntem" is a cosmic-disco house journey, perfect for sipping cognac at closing parties. "Lolek & Bolek" is a hip-hop funkster with a dirty bass line, heavy beats, cheeky drum fills and effects. Three tracks, three different vibes.

Artist: SCHUMACHER, THOMAS
Title: Slow
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 119EP
Thomas Schumacher has been on fire for the past 20 years, and so it continues with "Slow," a slowly-building, mild Balearic groove with a hypnotic vibe. Applying effects to the female vocal snippets while shuffling them forward and back against the groove indicates his ability to use simple effects towards intricate results. "NYC" uses percussive elements, a "tick, tick" clock sample, and the sound of speeding cabs to sonically evoke a bustling cityscape. These are one-two punches of DJ artillery.

Artist: LAZARUS, DAMIAN
Title: Memory Box/Spinnin'
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 120EP
This limited 12" consists of brand new club edits of two strange and enchanting stand-out tracks from Damian Lazarus' debut full-length Smoke The Monster Out. "Memory Box" is darkly humorous and has been re-tooled alongside studio engineer Kenneth James Gibson aka [a]pendics.shuffle. The original rave king Sasha takes on Lazarus' "Spinnin,'" looping and chopping the vocals -- courtesy of Lazarus and Taxi Taxi -- into trippy shrapnel. With its stripped-back rhythm and buzzing bass line, this track has real momentum.

Artist: SIOPIS
Title: Really Love Ya
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 122EP
Siopis is a reinvention of seasoned producer Silversurfer. "Really Love Ya" is a chunky, warped, vocal-driven rendition of tweaked techno. Inxec & Matt Tolfrey put some London love on their sleek and mellow remix, subtly applying all aspects of the original, but with a percussive new twist. "Under My Bed" is a sensual track that may make dancers think twice about what might be lurking around in the dark.

Artist: VA
Title: Full Body Workout Vol. 6
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 127EP
Full Body Workout's sixth installment starts with Spain's wonder-hit crew Uner, Coyu & Edu Imbernon. Next, Gavin Herlihy & James Barnsley deliver "Right Here." Unflappable percussion and a smooth synth workout make this suitable for peak-time. Mendo & Danny Serrano's "Atalaya" is a joyous roller with a solid groove, and Shonky crafts a sinewy, epic house construction based on a sample from the Derrick Carter and Chris Nazuka track, "Somewhere Between Distance And The Impossible."

Artist: DJ T.
Title: The Inner Jukebox Remix EP
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 129EP
The saga of DJ T.'s triumphant album The Inner Jukebox continues, embodying itself this time as a collection of reworks from two of dance music's most exciting talents. KiNK takes "Dis" into a dream state of classic Detroit strings, synths and 909 claps. Koch and Schumacher spiff up "Bateria" with their "Special Dub" version. Nicolas Jaar delivers an exceptional remix, a funk excursion that drags the original into a time machine and transports it back to the '70s.

Artist: LOGARES, JAVIER
Title: El Sueño Español
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 130EP
Javier Logares' "El Sueño Español" could be the inspiration for the natural craving of what is familiar -- unpredictably-arranged with swathes of pianos, accordions and modulated synth textures. On "Marching To It," Javier leads a marching band funneled through an undulating bass line riding on a float of analog synth stabs. "Acid Rain" is built around a seemingly un-rhythmic, 8-bit, distorted crackle that serves as the main hook and melody. Clever. Javier's non-standard approach will earn him plenty of fans.

Artist: LOPAZZ, BETOKO & ZAROOK (FEAT. IMAGINATION)
Title: Lopazz & Friends (Feat. Imagination)
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 131EP
Lopazz presents a collaboration with '80s sensation Imagination, co-produced by Mexican artist Beto "Betoko" Cohen. Lopazz's cousin Eliot Cohen is one of the world's leading music publishers, who owns the rights to many international hit records. They started working on the files recorded on a huge analog SSL-console and the original 24-track tapes from 1982 at Cohen's Red Bus Studios in London. Their remix of Imagination's "New Dimension" is killer, with Zarook adding fuel to the collaborative fire.

Artist: DJ T. (FEAT. NICK MAURER)
Title: Burning
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 136EP
DJ T.'s album Pleasure Principle features "Burning," a brooding, mid-tempo 118 bpm track where uniquely-programmed vocals by Nick Maurer add broad brushstrokes of color and texture. Art Department pare down the original to bare melodic notes, claps and bass pulses, and dial down some of the headier distortion. Redshape keeps the first two minutes of his remix entirely beatless, using deep space sounds and a wavering synth note to turn the screw on the menacing atmosphere.

Artist: M.A.N.D.E.A.R.
Title: Buddies
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 137EP
M.A.N.D.Y. and Matthew Dear lit up New York City in 2010 with their "Buddies" club night, and, as M.A.N.D.E.A.R., created their own urban dancefloor myth with the unreleased track "Buddies," which fuses deep hypnotism, disco and an infectious sing-along hook. Now, "Buddies" is fully realized with reworks from some of the best in the business. This 12" features the original track plus a masterful twist by Radio Slave and M.A.N.D.Y's remix, which is a sleek, late-night beast.

DJ T.'s Pleasure Principle (GPM 040CD) helped to usher in a new period of groove-heavy deepness. Like an antidote to clinical club sounds, album standout tracks like "Sense" inject some much-needed groove onto the dancefloor. Tale Of Us continue their journey into dark minimalism with a remix that isolates the percussion and vocals, shrouding both in reverb. Lee Foss and Jamie Jones tease out the intro with high-hats and layered vocals. The 12" finishes off with a rapturous club mix.

DJ T.'s Pleasure Principle (GPM 040CD) album helped usher in a renaissance of groove-heavy house. DJ T. turns to the sultry vocal track "City Life" to launch into summer anthem mode. "City Life" recalls the 1980s warehouse era, mixing a rough-round-the edges vocal treatment with hands-in-the-air chord stabs. Maceo Plex offers a warm house rework that is built on a sampled guitar pulse and ghostly strings while Maya Jane Coles' gentle dub treatment features an expertly pitched-down tempo. Also features a DJ T. rework.
