Artist: WINDSURF
Title: Coastlines
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: INT 001CD
This is the debut album by San Francisco producer duo, Windsurf -- Sorcerer's Daniel Judd and Hatchback's Sam Grawe. With a plethora of critically-acclaimed releases already under their own respective belts including their own solo debut albums for Tirk (Sorcerer) and Lo Recordings (Hatchback), Coastlines could well be hailed as a modern day "cosmic disco/slo-mo house" classic. "I'm unfortunately not very good at describing their music: Tangerine Dream's Edgar Froese meets Steely Dan?" says Internasjonal/Full Pupp label boss and Lindstrøm collaborator, Prins Thomas. In fact, Thomas was already doing remixes for both Daniel and Sam's solo projects before he even realized they were Windsurf. He put out their previously-digital Windsurf EP and more tracks and ideas led to this full release: "Their record was originally intended as the perfect pre-summer release, but I've got to say it suits the cool breeze of autumn just as perfectly. This album has been constantly on my ipod for a few months now and even though I might be biased, I know I'll be playing this the whole year (and next summer, too)." The album will be followed by the second 12" release Bird Of Paradise, backed by remixes from Studio and fellow Californian, The Beatbroker while Sam and Daniel have also managed to complete some seriously stunning and epic remixes for Shawn Lee, Low Motion Disco, Black Mustang and LCD Soundsystem. This is just the beginning of warm, laidback, slanted, fully-danceable synth jams.

Artist: CHACONA, NICK
Title: Eagle City
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.50
Catalog #: INT 001EP
"The new label by Norway's Prins Thomas, with an ubercool first offering by Nick Chacona. Both tracks are far superior from many of this year's released house fare!!"

Artist: TRIDACT
Title: Tridact
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: INT 002CD
Brandon Johnson, the artist known as Tridact, has been putting together his mix of analog electronics and beats for some time. Growing up in and around Santa Barbara, California, he has recently traded the beaches and foothills of Southern California to move to the forests and mountains of Southern Oregon. After participating in various bands and other musical projects in Santa Barbara, he bought a simple set-up consisting of a midi sequencer, a sampler and a couple of vintage synthesizers and began creating his own electronic music. Over time, he built up a small studio and added some live instrumentation into the mix. In the late 2000s, he began posting some of his tracks online, eventually leading to his first release, "Light Minute," on the Synchronicity Suite compilation on Moodgadget Records. The track was later re-released on Ghostly International's Nocturnal Suite compilation. On Tridact's debut album on Prins Thomas' Internasjonal label, he creates an eclectic blend of densely layered, melodic, song-oriented instrumental tracks which combine analog synthesizers, guitars and programmed beats. The album draws from influences ranging from '60s pop to disco, house, techno and breakbeat to make a sound that reflects a distinctly Pacific Coast experience. The album is rooted in melody and forgoes subtlety in favor of the unrestrained sound of buzzing basses and leads combined with lush, layered chords and soaring strings, all grounded in rhythms that range from potent four-on-the-floor dancefloor workouts to introspective breakbeat jams. Each track is a journey in itself, often taking the listener from melancholia to euphoria, and from serenity to cacophony and back again.

Artist: LOVELOCK
Title: Burning Feeling
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: INT 003CD
With releases On Kompakt, Permanent Vacation, Eskimo and K7, Steve Moore aka Zombi aka Gianni Rossi aka Lovelock has long been known on the scene. As is his sound. Lovelock is massively-produced '80s-infected discoid power-pop, where excellent neon songwriting of a very high caliber meets the ultimate groove, hook and song structures. The needle drops, and a hyper-reality assembles itself suddenly before the mind's eye. Polygonal structures accented with clean neon lines; computerized sequences firing with precision and synchronicity under a polished surface. These are the futurist vistas conjured by the music of multi-instrumentalist Steve Moore. He is the rare, balanced electronic-pop composer whose work is at once visionary and hopelessly nostalgic for the music of his youth: late '70s AM gold and that ubiquitous, synthesizer-driven pulse appropriated by everyone from New Romantics to prime-time TV theme songs throughout the 1980s. Though his analog cascades can approach prog-rock levels of complexity normally explored by his groundbreaking duo Zombi over the past decade, Moore's affinity for smart pop melody and growing Italo-dancefloor sensibilities keep him out of any such stylistic ghetto. In fact, he has become a sought-after remix artist both under his own name and under the Lovelock moniker in recent years, placing a club-ready stamp on tracks by Sally Shapiro, Camille as well as recent singles by Washed Out and Brahms. Lovelock has also been tapped by artists far outside the dance-pop idiom: he's converted tunes by the Melvins, Genghis Tron, and Voivod into raucous, glam-rock stomps and driving, Miami Vice chase-scene soundtracks.

Artist: MARK E & DRAGON
Title: Good Times
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 003EP
"For their third release Internasjonal assembled a true champions league line-up. Mark E who used a razor for his own private edits long before he needed one for facial maintenance and also recently equally impressed with his very own productions on Running Back, showcases both sides of his talent with a radical re-work of Chic's 'Good Times.' It starts out rather dark with a gnarly bassline and slow stomping beats before some sensual swirling Rhodes chords ascend, blended with the original's chorus and manipulated with some slight filter magic, it all leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Prins Thomas gets down to business with a faster percussive dub version that has a loose live funk feeling and great intense build-up. Fresh from their debut album the super hyped duo of Matt Edwards (Radio Slave) and Joel Martin aka Quiet Village create a hazy codeine-disco vibe with a laid-back percussive, gently swaying beat-loop mixed with psychedelic, soundtrack style atmospherics and dub antics."

Artist: CAGE & AVIARY
Title: Migration
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: INT 004CD
Electronic duo Cage & Aviary present their debut album Migration on Prins Thomas' Internasjonal imprint. Part man, part machine, part cockatiel, Cage & Aviary take flights of fancy whenever they can. Jamie Paton is a DJ, a one-finger keyboardist, and a pot-tickler. Nigel of Bermondsey is a musician, South London's finest oscillator, and a dedicated dabbler. Together, they are winners of the cosmic lottery. Having put out releases to much acclaim, Cage & Aviary have since spread their wings with releases on DFA, Tiny Sticks and Astro Lab. Their own label, The Walls Have Ears, is slowly carving out a reputation for quality dubbed-out dance music, too. Now, the feathered friends are set to take a new flight of fancy on Migration. From the rolling, cinematic sheen of "Giorgio Carpenter (Director's Cut)" that openly wears its influences on its sleeve to the cosmically spaced-out funk of "In Todd We Trust" and the slo-mo, disco-not-disco of "Good Egg, Bad Apple," the pair spread their production wings across the dancefloor. Then, we teleport ourselves via the Leroy Burgess funk-portal to the disco-boogie rockin' "Infatuation," whose slick-rick R&B production adds even more sex appeal to the bird-caged discotheque, while "Dead Dancers" brings a live, percussive and guitar Liquid Liquid vibe and then in contrast we have the shimmering and floating sun-drenched keys and vox that melt into "Friday The 14th Part IV." Finally the duo sign off with the proto-house groove of "Lean On Me" which features guest vocalist Denise Johnson (of Screamadelica and A Certain Ratio fame) and the title track "Migration," which oozes yet more Moroder and Carpenter-inspired funk.

Artist: DISCODROMO
Title: Cosmorama
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 004EP
"Short about the label: a joint effort between Prins Thomas and Word And Sound -- the idea behind the label is to put out good music and not limiting ourselves to stick with a specific genre, instead opting to stay fresh and individual with each release going in every direction we feel. We're gonna be highlighting new talent, re-releasing some lesser known nuggets and certainly give you some dancefloor killers along the way to. From Japanese techno to California Kraut, just the way we like it... for our 4th release on Internasjonal we bring you Giacomo Garavelloni aka Discodromo. Reminding me both of some '90s lost tribal house record played on a Walkman with low batteries or even some of those equally good/weird '90s etno house tracks played by DJs such as Baldelli (yes, do check those late '80s and early '90s tapes to; they're amazing) anyway, I guess I was drawn to this track both because of its chugging quality (that's slow motion dancing for overweight people) and its unwillingness to try and fit in with most of today's new electronic music. Hopefully you'll like it as well. On remix duties you'll find Brennan Green which has spent more than a decade nurturing a sound of his own. On first listen, you might be a bit surprised but give it a second spin and see if you're not bought, just as me. As Carl Craig once said (something along the lines of) 'it's not what you put in but what you take out' I spent some time fooling around with the files to and with the help of a little cheesy drum sample -- voila! -- a third track completing the package -- now please go and buy this record so we can continue delivering you the good stuff."

Artist: FRANKIE FLOWERZ
Title: Break The Barriers
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 005EP
The Internasjonal label continues their track of highlighting new talent with a slow house chugger in the form of Break The Barriers, by Malaysia-born and Berlin-based Frankie Flowerz. A perfect match for remix duties is man of the moment (and soon to be legendary) John Daly of Galway, who turns in a slightly faster, darker and bit dubbier affair. Sooooooo good.

Artist: MOLE, THE
Title: For The Lost/There's Hope
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 006EP
Colin De La Plante is the Canada-bred and Berlin-based The Mole. His unique and abstract take on modern disco on labels like Wagon Repair and Musique Risquée puts him right at the top of everyone's wishlist, so after promises of fulfilling filthy fantasies and a big share in the Norwegian oil fund, these two golden nuggets were handed over.

Artist: WINDSURF
Title: Bird Of Paradise
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 007EP
The idea behind the Internasjonal label is to put out good music without limiting themselves to a specific genre. Their aim is to highlight new talent, re-release some lesser-known nuggets and give you some dancefloor killers along the way, from Japanese techno to California Kraut. After their well-received debut album on Internasjonal, Windsurf presents two tracks off their album Bird Of Paradise, one Studio rework, and one dub version by The Beat Broker.

Artist: LE TOUGH, MANO
Title: Warhorn/Halve A Sun
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 008EP
Mano Le Tough's "Warhorn" has been cycling around the ether for about 2 years now. During that time, it has been significantly road-tested and has verily passed the test. Simple, dark melodic techno with quite an anthemic feel. After a bit of fiddling around trying to come up with the right person to remix it, Mano instead came up with "Halve A Sun," which now graces the B-side even more gracefully than any remix money could buy. Killer alert!

Artist: USHER, AL

Title: Brother
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 010EP
Berlin-based Hunee steps up with this fine double-header. "Brother" and "Babel" are two slow, grinding chuggers of the highest order, stuck somewhere between a tropical island bar and space.

Artist: MOLE PRESENTS GUILTY PLEASURES, THE
Title: Family/Rotation
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 011EP
The Mole is joined on Internasjonal by close friends under the moniker Guilty Pleasures. From the artist himself: "This record is a collaboration between myself and Sophie Trudeau on the A-side and a collaboration between myself, Danuel Tate, and Tyger Dhula on the B-side. You'll never truly appreciate the warmth and depth of the strings with an mp3. Those are real strings, by the way. You can also hear a log in the fire snapping in the background."

Artist: MAIN STEM, THE
Title: Since You Left
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 012EP
The Main Stem, a Birmingham-based trio from the British neo-disco university, have honed their art with dubby refixes of disco tracks and beyond. Enlisting the help of two live drummers, "Since You Left" sounds like a magic jam session by early Pink Floyd or Hawkwind with Lee Perry at the mystic Black Ark studios, with swirling synth atmospherics, guitar licks, orgiastic strings and electric piano. Prins Thomas opts for funkier groove, adding his own touches, making for a blissful rework.

Artist: MEDINA, COLE
Title: Red Hot
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 013EP
This is the long-awaited "Red Hot" by Cole Medina, which you might know from his very very cool House Arrest or American Standards releases. Thoroughly road-tested, the track has been waiting for a remix that never materialized... until now. Luckily, The Mole (together with his friends Hreno and James Boatman) stepped up with this chunky little rework.

Artist: LE TOUGH, MANO
Title: Oblique
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 014EP
Mano Le Tough reemerges on Internasjonal, fusing the deeper shades of house and techno with a strong melodic sensibility. "Oblique" boasts a perfect, effective dramaturgy with a slightly spooky broken melody box theme rising out of a thick mist of grinding chords before morphing into a deep acid finale. Château Flight toughen up the beats and throw in some African wood percussions and sparse psychedelic dub effects for a superb, multi-layered rework.

Artist: TRAKS BOYS
Title: Starburst/Yellowbirds
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: INT 015EP
Traks Boys consists of Kawasaki-based producers/DJs Crystal and K404. The mid-tempo house track "Starburst" features glittering synth loops that are condensed more and more before erupting into a ray of beautiful sound cascades. Prins Thomas highlights the magic melodic synth lines with his hypnotic, beatless remix. "Yellowbirds" boasts a cheeky Far Eastern music box melody. TBD aka Lee Douglas of Rong fame and Justin Vandervolgen present a driving, peak-time take: just drop your spaceguns and surrender to the beat.

"Gibson In E" played on Beats In Space radio in March 2010 to much positive feedback. Lovely Kraut-y doddlings on a spaceship. For the B-side, we're treated to Ulysses' personal rendition of Diana Ross ballad-goes-disco classic "Love Hangover."

Prins Thomas' slow dub remake and Mark E's full-bodied remix complete this release.

Artist: LOVELOCK
Title: Maybe Tonight (Morgan Geist Edits)
Label: INTERNASJONAL (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: INTLL 001EP
As one-half of Zombi and with solo releases under his fake movie soundtrack composer alias Gianni Rossi or his real name, Steve Moore has an extensive record of toying around with his musical obsessions: glam and prog rock, early synth pop and their manifestations in TV themes and B-movie soundtracks. As Lovelock he plunges fearlessly into the glossy world of Italo disco and synth pop, and there couldn't be a niftier choice to remix the first 12" of his upcoming album than Morgan Geist.

Artist: TRIDACT

Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
