Artist: WRUHME, ROBAG
Title: Jena Makks EP
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: MMR 002EP
"With the brand-new release on Milnormodern we present Robag Wruhme of the German labels Freude am Tanzen and Musikkrause, which was responsible for many sensational releases and remixes during the last few years. This time with picture of Robag Wruhme gracing the cover of the Milnormodern.002, he provides us with his tracks 'Jena Makks', 'Minatsmoten' and 'Esmaralda oing' for an unforgettable dance experience through the turn of the year. Additionally Koerner & Treplec have created a fat remix with the original sound-samples of 'Jena Makks. All together 4 really funky and damn deep tracks."

Artist: VA
Title: Mod.Cooperate.Two
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: MMR 003EP
"Milnormodern goes international: from Portugal we welcome Nisios with his 'Divagadora Remix' -- a terrifically stomping opener that gets the people at the bar. Suddenly they find themselves shaking their bodies on the dancefloor as they just can't resist the vibrations going through them. Track number two comes from a well known Berlin artist: grown up at the institutions of Ellen and Benno, Trike combines minimalism with a discreet portion of freak funk. 'Hotline' is one of those tracks that just won't leave your mind as you are sitting at the fast food restaurant of your choice, wondering yourself why you still eat that crap and why the heck that DJ didn't play that awesome record a second time. On the backside we welcome another representative of Musik Krause fame: Metaboman endows us with one of his ingenious odysseys through the fairy world of little red riding hood and rumpelstilskin. 'Witwe Wu' he calls it, but please don't ask us why. And with Dubnoodles' 'Clapcity' you already know what to expect when looking at the titles: prepare for a dubby expedition into the world of clap. The oxygen masks you can find above your heads, life jackets are beneath your seats, so lean back and enjoy the flight."

Artist: KOERNER & TREPLEC
Title: Untenrumgehtsbesser EP
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: MMR 004EP
"Three tracks full of clickin'-kickin' deepness, sharing a central theme in their samples. With each track, Koerner & Treplec throw in a piece of a puzzling story; part of a riddle never intended to be solved. But in this imaginary soundtrack they feel totally comfortable, bearing fruit and entwining around the strong framework of rhythm. The journey starts with 'Bernd Im Glück' ('Bernd In Luck'), an impassioned eccentric sent on research into the world of early alien flicks: floating, uneasy soundscapes herald a pending invasion of unidentified flying objects. Claps and hats and noise will suck you into an irresistible maelstrom, as Bernd is drunk by this sensual orgy and willingly undergoes all these experiments even if nobody will believe him thereafter... afterwards, we recommend the 'Pflaume im Speckmantel' ('Plum in a Bacon Shell'): national dish of Andalusia, full of tradition and a very special lusciousness. Tingly at the beginning, unfolding its rich flavour after a while, stimulating with a fruity aftertaste. Recommended serving: unobtrusive light, ecstatic atmosphere, easy clothing. Cut, change of scene and appearance of 'Prof. Dr. Knusper': head of the psychiatric Institute of Dessau and still one of the most popular guests of the local masked ball. A companionable fellow with the right sense for a fitting statement at a perfect time. And still a single, by the way..."

Title: Mod.Cooperate.Three
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: MMR 005EP
"Volume three of the various artists series mod.cooperate brings you the concentrated load of fiddly techno. With 'Walk' Hemmann & Kaden, carrying the hopes of Freude am Tanzen and with the latter having had a great debut on Vakant, deliver a piece of work just like an excellent cordon bleu: crispy and savoury on the outside, delicate and tasteful on the inside -- and we haven't said a word about the filling yet! Will melt on your tongue like smooth chocolate... to be continued by Mark Henning -- using his daytime office job as inspiration for becoming chief investigator of clicky, bleepy, noisy minimal stuff at night: 'Smlatter' stands in best tradition of highly successful releases on Freude am Tanzen or Frankie. A little bit eccentric, but always grooving from below. And as we speak of groovy eccentricity, we are exactly at the point to introduce the Krause duo to Milnormodern (with one half of it, Metaboman, having given an appearance on mod.cooperate vol.2 as well): Far Eastern sounds meeting jazz meeting Krause-style. Just always straight ahead would be too easy, as we've learned through quite some Musik Krause vinyl-editions... as we are in the Far East, we can easily draw a line to the suffragettes -- three Japanese having connected as it is always more fun to make music together. Which is actually quite hearable: 'Fourquop' might be the deepest track on this mini-compilation, but it is exactly that deepness creating a very special atmosphere."

Artist: PRONSATO & FRANCO, BRUNO
Title: Picaro
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: MMR 006EP
"After strong releases for Orac, Philpot and Telegraph, man of the moment Bruno Pronsato presents a debut on Milnormodern that will further his fame as a highly reliable producer. 'Hide Your Wives' on A starts with a tight bass drum and develops into a hypnotic groover as layer after layer is added to this inventive dancefloor shaker. Mind the title -- isn't it profoundly programmatic? Bruno's rich sound design can be witnessed on side B as well - 'Twin City' is somewhat deeper, but in this way it might be hypnotizing afterhour dancefloors even more. Though full of clicky samples it still manages to keep to the essentials: simply true minimal deep freakin' techno -- which is indeed what Milnormodern is all about. Definitely the most subversively kickin' MMR-release so far."

Artist: HEMMANN, MAREK
Title: Ropy
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: MMR 007EP
"One half of Freude am Tanzen's Hemmann & Kaden with his first solo release: Marek Hemmann delivers three dancefloor movers giving Milnormodern another facet of rocking minimal stuff. 'Ropy' on Side A shows the path right from the start: while his predecessors on MMR preferred a rather dryly kickin' sound, Marek's handwriting is always somewhat melodic. His tracks are dwelling on a Jena-typical clicky rhythmic foundation but it's these dreamy and slightly melancholic synth lines that emphasize his unique character."

Artist: JACKMATE
Title: Targa
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: MMR 008EP
"With Michel Baumann a.k.a. Jackmate and Soulphiction, Milnormodern has succeeded in making one of Germany's most respected producers part of the family. After great releases on internationally renowned imprints such as Playhouse, Perlon or Freude am Tanzen -- which helped to set the minimal path not only in Germany -- Michael has went on in recent years to push his own label Philpot and just recently its new sublabel Phile. Jackmate alias stands for superbly dry rocking minimal stuff (just remember his Plastikman-like 'Chem/Tesla' on phile 01!). That's exactly how his mmr 008 could be characterized as well -- 'Targa!' (a1) is one of those extremely tight dancefloor monsters that make people move to it without knowing what their body is doing with them. Jackmate builds up element after element to culminate it in discreet mayhem."

Artist: OKUYAMA, SHU
Title: Waldspaziergang EP
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: MMR 009EP
"Milnormodern continues to walk its destined path in terms of up-front minimalism. With Shu Okuyama, another brother-in-arms has been found -- futuristic sound from Japan, this is: deep, rich in sounds and textures, oscillating between slightly melancholic ('Verlassen Sie Mich Jetzt') and undoubtedly funky ('Seitlicher Wodka Des Betts'). With many fine details, Shu puts together a mellow groove that is warm and kickin' at the same time. Two nine-minute excursions into the deep space of minimal flow. Or just like the title says: 'Waldspaziergang' -- a walk through the woods. Trippy. Danceable. Milnormodern."

Artist: VA
Title: Mod.Coop.Four
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MMR 011EP
With Mathias Kaden, Mossa, Patrone, Dubnoodles. "After five artist EPs, it is high time for a new edition of the mod.coop series on Milnormodern. On side A, we have Mathias Kaden of Vakant and Freude am Tanzen fame delivering his most housey work to date, fusing his driving minimal style with heavy jazz samples. Accompanying him is Montreal's well-known Mossa, dropping in with his typical bouncing rhythms. The flipside starts out very jazzy as well: Patrone is a new project of Metaboman, one half of the infamous Krause Duo. Nice warm sounds and wonderful saxophone. Last but not least there is Dubnoodles, who has already been part of the mod.coop.02-- once more he fuses complex rhythms with a deep melancholic atmosphere in a unique way. Four pieces of excellent contemporary music -- taking minimal beyond."

Artist: MOSSA
Title: Indulto EP
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MMR 014EP
"Following Nôze, Mossa releases his first EP on MMR. His pumpin' dry minimal house with unmistakable jazz influences has built him a quite impressive discography over the last three years -- his business card is full of well-sounding names such as Circus Company, Mo's Ferry, Cynosure or Complot, his own imprint. Having been part of Mod.Coop.Four before, Mossa presents two more bouncy minimal monsters on his Indulto EP, bass-heavy as we love him. Short sequences of bleepy funk are swept along by driving percussions and shuffled grooves. These rhythms are not an invitation to shake your hips, they give you a command to do so!"

Artist: DOP
Title: No Passport EP
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MMR 015EP
"Following their remix for Noze, DOP come up with their first EP for Milnormodern. Soulful and funky, these tracks caress your speaker's membrane. Saxophone, piano and the human voice are excellent leading actors. But DOP leave nothing to chance and back up their creative short stories with a terrific cast -- excellence down to the smallest part. Consequently, Noze -- soulful brothers in mind -- give a guest appearance in 'The Riot.' With the No Passport EP, we have the final proof: in France, the future of electronic soul is being developed."

Artist: DOP
Title: God Bless The Child EP
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: MMR 016EP
"Two in a row for dOP and MMR. Following their No Passport EP, the lovely three Frenchmen throw in God Bless The Child. Starting out with 'Foly' - a heavy fusion of African chants and percussion with flowing jazz grooves. Jaaaazzzzzz, baby! Well well, who else could remix such a track other than Jena city hero Robag Wruhme? Yeah, absolutely -- no prisoners to be taken on this one. Robag keeps the deepness of the original, straightens the groove a bit, and adds some juice in the bass frequencies. Flip around, and we find it softly flowing again: easy sax lines combined with engrossed vocals keep it movin' for 'Cum With Me.' 'Zero Zero' then substitutes sax for piano and once more dOP impress us with their soulful funkiness that makes them so unique. God bless France!"

Artist: VARIOUS ARTISTS
Title: Splitpak
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: MMR 017EP
"When a label within sixteen catalog releases has five of them branded 'various artists', than the focus seems to be more on compilation or a neatly-packaged, careful enthusiast approach. Exactly that is the case with Milnormodern, which means that the delicate sound study and elaborate remarkableness is relevant with a view to savory tonal design for comprehensive, embracing nights in a hope-filled future. From Dessau to Jena the label prince Treplec opens up the Splitpak and allows the Mod.Cooperate cycle to stand at five. On this 12" it's designated: electric sexy thoughts and passion set in four different actions with the libido on elegant-digital fine motor skills house. A1: Shu Okuyama- Vielleicht Ja, Vielleicht Nein: The innocence already lost with his Waldspaziergang EP, Shu Okuyama crafts here a wonderfully layered, deep, freaky, jazzbeaty bounty hunter-techno masterwork. Here there is nothing lifted from the hinges, but rather kissed from the sun in a world of an easy-going, feather light dance expressed manifested maxim. A2: dOP 'Who's the Link' (Kink RMX): The French funk-brothers DOP are here in an orderly fashion doped through the ether (harrumph!)! A love of details breaker for the loud hours two at a time or by the hundreds?right smack in the middle and smart too, it rumbles right into the mix-a heart and a crown for the night! B1: Krause Duo 'Box': The really 'cleaned up' piece of tonal painting (by existing standards) is a gallop from the Krause Duo, which here is vinyl ornamented. Funked to the high heavens and generating an irresistible melody fragment for something like a half of a driven moment of happiness. Absolute survival music is the best that can happen to a dancefloor. B2: dB 'Rich Kids On Cheap Drugs' A great night music -- an old friend of the experimental-swinging addiction- grooves (Substatic, Karloff, Background) here shows the great school of swinging music from peculiar worlds with the aesthetic of contrasts in a shimmering multiplicity of significance."

Artist: DOP
Title: Panik
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: MMR 018EP
"The French project Dop is not simply one of those real 3-man combos which are not all that often to be seen in the world of club music. A really dynamic trio, who torch everything live if it ain't moving. An extraordinarily self sufficient band with a nonchalant manner of combining live instruments, singing and electronica on point as if it was the easiest thing in the world. There is also still the right balance, where fun and deepness clash, leaving the absurd and chunky elements out of the picture altogether; hence the fine details. There are still scores of mighty deeds waiting in the future, as well as on this fine 12" (already the 3rd Milnor Modern) with a degree of timelessness. Seldom have such unerring club thumps, the essence of a jazzy swing and musical pretense ever so close together, that the nightly congregation can completely be in agreement -- head music for the extremities with the beatitude still intact; cool entertainment is introduced. A1: Panik: An absolute street jam housed in a classic length! As if the Violent Femmes strolling with the jazz collection of their fathers explodes upon contact with a high voltage cable. So much promise -- so much delivered in just 3 minutes and 15 seconds of sweat breaking out! A2: Panik (Krause Duo Rmx): Dop on the electric chair from Krause Duo! You just know there is going to be some joyfully rapid hand movements feeding the MPC. A super happy Krause with an impactful fulfillment of sweeps and bass drums without toot and voice swept under the rug. B1: Ikarus Melancholic songwriter art meets transcendental club music. The long living and compulsive combination of song and track, long since a summer afternoon veranda-house driven with a perfectly evened-out balance between pressure and space. B2: Nature Boy A short opus driven of voice, tenor sax and military drums encased in a temporal gloom, on which the hopeful beauty of the autumn is carried."

Artist: TARON-TREKKA
Title: Zold Ura
Label: MILNORMODERN (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: MMR 019EP
Zold Ura is divided into three tracks which convincingly show what house is still able to be in 2011 without taking part in digital cannibalization and draggy conventions. Taron-Trekka earn credits for the fact that especially under those conditions, such marvelous and deep dance music comes into existence. Nice to see how passion, enthusiasm and knowledge can fertilize the dancefloor. Play it loud: I'm deep and I'm proud!
