Double LP version.

Artist: DIRT CREW
Title: Blow
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: MOOD 009CD
Presenting the first full-length on Mood Music by producer/DJ duo Peter Gijselaers and Felix Eder aka Dirt Crew. Blow sees them back on the block with more of their original, raw-as-fuck house music. This album reveals the true roots of these pioneers of European electronic house music, with influences ranging from early Chicago warehouse tracks, sophisticated mid-'90s NYC-inspired house productions, and pioneers of UK dub house from the likes of Warp and DIY. "Deep Cover" slowly evolves with a dubbed house feel and perfectly-arranged vocal samples. Followed by "Rough Roads," the theme stays the same, deep bass confiscating the groove, holding no hostages with a building, arpeggiated synth-line. "Blow" throws old school samples and deep keys into the mix with stunning results. Keeping the pace mid-tempo, the groove just keeps going. "Clap" layers synths and vocal snippets into a frenzy of house bliss, ending in an FM synth-horn crescendo which could be from a Jovonn production from 1992. "Redux" is an old school stomper with a 2009 production to keep it fresh. Borrowing a touch from early Deep Dish, this has a massively hypnotizing, hands-in-the-air factor in true Dirt Crew-style. "Slope" is a darker affair with a well-paced Berlin peak-hour frenzy that never gets too dark. "Parade" is an ode to classic house -- deep, pulsating bass and groove mixed with some tasteful keys and vocals. "Scenario" enters darker territory, with pitched-down vocals and echoed percussion, keeping the groove on high alert till the keys drop and the dancefloor explodes -- another DC classic, for sure. "The Real Shit" is a bouncy, almost techno production with distorted beats, true DC bleepiness and dubbed-out vocals -- a demented dancefloor bomb already. Finally, "Star" starts with mesmerizing keys and a murderous bass line, evolving over minutes of modern house music at its best to a crazy horn breakdown. There's no stopping the Dirt Crew, now.

Title: Starstyling vs. Moodmusic Mix
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: MOOD 010CD
Moodmusic head-honcho and A&R-man Klas "Sasse" Lindblad brings you the first installment of a new co-operation between Moodmusic and their friends from Starstyling Worldwide, one of the more interesting fashion/design companies in Berlin. Compiled originally for the Starstyling "Hokus Fokus" show at Berlin's Fashion Week in the summer of 2009, Starstyling vs. Moodmusic takes you on a journey of unreleased gems and forthcoming goodies as well as special edits of some recent hits from Moodmusic, building a well-conceived DJ-mix of quality music that you should be used to hearing from the native Finn on dancefloors around the world. In the past 15 years, Moodmusic has been growing into one of the main players in European electronic house with a respectable artist roster of past, present and future stars of the scene, lovingly steered by Sasse through many different territories, while always staying true both to himself as well as to his artists. While the first releases took their lead from the twin poles of Detroit and Chicago, each new record has expanded the horizons of the label with wonderful results, also gathering a small but dedicated artist pool enhanced by guest appearances from the label's most talented friends and colleagues from all over the world. Artists in this compilation include: Stel, King Roc, Dave DK, Daso, Ada, Kiki & Sasse, Till Von Sein, Filippo Moscatello, Tigerskin, Dirt Crew, Penner+Muder, Lil Tony, Holger Zilske, Richard Davies, Nick Chacona, and Anthony Mansfield.

Artist: CHACONA, NICK
Title: Love In The Middle
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: MOOD 011CD
This is the debut full-length by Brooklyn's Nick Chacona. Writing and producing the songs that make up Love In The Middle were a veritable outpouring of the house hero's emotions as channeled through the many genres that make up Nick's ever-evolving sound. From the cosmic disco of album-opener "Especial" (penned with frequent production partner Anthony Mansfield), to the futuristic boogie-pop of "The Fear" (featuring Sheffield's disco songstress Kathy Diamond); the raw house of "Wait" (featuring the inimitable Brothers Vibe on vocal duties); the gorgeously emotive, Mr. Fingers-inspired "Be Like Olive"; or the deep, bassbin-shaking dub of "Eskayelator," it's clear that Nick's equally at home producing myriad styles. Speaking of home, Nick called many a place just that throughout the recording process, and it was these varied locations that also shaped the album's eclectic sound. Berlin's vibrant club life, not to mention his friends Sasse and Dirt Crew's James Flavour helped to give the album that soundsystem-savvy oomph. San Francisco brought the sunshine, and the opportunity to collaborate with Anthony Mansfield. In between snowboarding sessions in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and taking in the autumn foliage in upstate New York, Nick found solace in the peaceful environs the countryside had to offer. The ethereal, hand-painted artwork is courtesy of Shanan Campanaro -- the "love" he found "in the middle" of making the album. From his recent remix of Fever Ray's "Seven"; to Greg Wilson's recent inclusion of his and Mansfield's disco bomb "Oh Snap!," to his new project Beg To Differ with The Wurst Music Co's label boss, Roy Dank; to this absolutely stunning debut, Chacona is at the top of his game.

Artist: PENNER + MUDER
Title: Same Monkeys Different Zoo
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: MOOD 012CD
This is the debut full-length release from Berlin/Hamburg duo Penner + Muder. Nils Penner and John Muder produced their first 4-track demo CD in August 2007. Produced in the Suol Studios in East-Berlin for fun rather than with a full-blown business plan, Sasse signed 2 tracks of this demo for his Moodmusic imprint. Are You Lost (MOOD 065EP) became Penner + Muder's first vinyl 12" release. It got great reactions from the DJ community and the B-side "Millennium Falcon" was picked by electro-maestro Oliver Huntemann himself for his mix compilation Play 02! Live At Rex/Paris. Release-wise, the guys kept it slow and focused on quality rather than quantity. Same Monkeys Different Zoo is the result and sees the duo draw on their solo output (Nils and his Wazi Wazi imprint and John's Johjon alias and Suol imprint) as well as vast knowledge of classic deep house sounds to create something fresh, varied and essential. From the opening keys of the piano-led intro and first full track "Let The Music Play," there's a beautiful and slightly melancholic thread throughout. This is a house album, however, and groove does not suffer as the stripped-back drum&vox of "All About You" aptly proves. Whether it be the dubby feel of "Sunset Blvd" or the future soul of "Time Has Come," Same Monkeys Diffferent Zoo is bristling with emotion and even in tracks like the decidedly austere "Solitary Movement" (with Muder's long-term friend/label partner Chopstick) there's a real sense of feeling. This impassioned theme culminates in the stunning "Are You Lost," a future classic in the making. Balancing melody with groove, melancholy with uplift and dancefloor sensibilities with a home listening vibe is a rare feat but Penner + Muder have pulled it off and have done so with a heavily song-based LP -- a testament to their talent if ever there was one.

Artist: DAVE DK
Title: Retake One
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: MOOD 013CD
Berlin's Moodmusic label kicks off a new mix CD series called "Retake." The first edition is being delivered by Moodmusic homeboy, Dave DK. The idea for the Retake series was born when label head Sasse had released the Starstyling mix on the occasion of Fashion Week 2009, including only releases from the label. Retake One contains some classic and new, unreleased Moodmusic tracks as well as influential material from the past 10 years. Besides Dave's edit of Sasse's "Wrapper" (Penner + Muder Remix), the mix features three new exclusive tracks that will also be released on a separate 12": Dave DK's "Will Be Gone," Axel Boman's "Cinquenta" and Citycobra's "Fresh Simple." To present an 80-minute overview of his DJ style, Dave has hand-picked some of his favorite tunes from his record box. To present a modern and organic sound, most tracks have been recorded from vinyl, partly from vinyl-only labels. With the focus being put not only on the music but also on the packaging and design, Retake One stands out in the present flood of mediocre media and music releases. Top designer Matthias Egil Last has been called in for the artwork. No less than two photo-shoots were necessary to come up with the final result. Last is also responsible for the design of the Watergate mix CD series. After his residencies at Tresor Club since 1999 as well as Panorama Bar since 2001, Dave DK has been a key figure in Berlin's music community. Spinning nowadays regularly throughout legendary clubs in Berlin, Dave is also playing gigs all around the world. Having released his first 12"s on Raum Musik in the late '90s, the albums Sensory Overload (2000, Müller Records) and Lights And Colours (2007, Moodmusic) were the highlights of his career which is now being crowned with Retake One. Other artists include: Ada, Lawrence, Holger Zilske, Daso, Ian Simmonds, Smallpeople, Chopstick & Johnjon, Jackmate, Superpitcher, Good Guy Mikesh, Christian Löffler, Sascha Funke, Horror Inc, DJ Koze, and Nina Kraviz.

Artist: LUOMO
Title: PLUS
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: MOOD 016CD
Luomo aka Vladislav Delay, Sistol, Uusitalo -- under a raft of names Finnish artist Sasu Ripatti has in the past experimented with ambient, broken beat, glitch as well as grooves and house music with soulful vocals, working with Scissor Sisters, Black Dice, Apparat, Craig Armstrong, Massive Attack, Robert Owens and Towa Tei. Luomo is about experimenting with pop music, a big influence for Ripatti, and bringing it into a fusion of house, disco and electronica. PLUS is Luomo's fifth album, taking the songwriting abilities of Ripatti to a new level, dwelling deep into first generation Chicago house and the pop sensibilities of '80s London, coupled with his impeccable crossover pop appeal. Never going for a one formula approach, PLUS has a distinct Luomo sound -- hypnotic, sexy and delicately insistent, rhythms following a self-movement and never standing still. Conquering the world of electronics with a hi-tech approach, PLUS grabs the listener mostly because of the soul infused into the works. Sometimes cold and brittle, at other times warm and ductile, the deeply-layered backgrounds make way for outstanding vocal performances which are this time credited to the cryptically-named Chicago Boys, a boy group of more or less known vocalists. Songs like "Good Stuff" and "Shy" are pure pop-bliss, while "Form In Void" and "Twist" shimmer in glacial electronics and gliding synths, all keeping the focus on the organic vocals to extend the album's scope and reach far beyond expectations. The less song-focused, synth-driven tunes like "Medley Through" and "How You Look" are undoubtedly reflecting the early Luomo sound from Vocal City (2000) and The Present Lover (HUUME 70202CD, 2003), and combined with his finest songwriting makes a cohesive album which actually can and should be listened to as one whole piece.

Artist: SASSE FEAT. KIKI
Title: Loosing Touch (Alexkid & Passarani Rmx)
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MOOD 039XEP
"After the killer original mix of this future classic we bring you two of our favourite producers to the table to tackle the vocals from Kiki. Alexkid starts with a early Chicago Frankie Knuckles groove evolving the song into a peak hour frenzy of electronic house at its best. Mr Pigna aka Marco Passarani twists a bar or two from French Kiss and turns the track into a jacking killer-groove alá Powerplant 1987 with the vocals teared into parts and turned into a mutilated chant. For the not so vocal orientated around he kindly made a slamming dub as well. Saluté."

Artist: SASSE FEAT. MALTE
Title: Up To You Rmixes
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MOOD 045EP
"Taken from the current Sasse album Made Within the Upper Stairs Of Heaven, 'Up To You' features Malte Schlorf from Losoul/Playhouse fame on vocals. The original mix pushes the baleric deephouse sound to soothe your soul while the remixes show great versatility. Anja Schneider turns the song into an adventure of minimal proportions with a huge dub-like bassline driving like hell and we love it! Great work from one of the first ladies of electronic music! The Naughty Remix from Filippo Moscatello brings the old back to the new with dark Belgian chocolate poured into your brain, with Todd Terry inspired beats and a massive breakdown! Scary! Newcomers Drum Cult from London (Recently signed to Dirt Crew Rec) shows excellent talent on their Italo-Balearo-in-your-face remix, which keeps the original vibe, but turns it 360 degrees into the southern hemisphere full of rainbow colored trips and free love!"

Artist: AUDIOFLY X
Title: Lost
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MOOD 046EP
"Audiofly are hotter than hot for their recent output on labels like Connoisseur, Mobilee, Adrift and the brand new Tiefschwarz label Souvenir. While working with different people (Rekleiner, Sleeper Thief) the Audiofly sound is always present and rocking the crowd. Lost is the follow-up release to the hugely successful Somewhere release on Moodmusic as Rekleiner with partner in crime, Stuart Geddes. This time we got a double A-sided monster in the form of 'Lost' and 'Til Mari.' Electronic house music at its best, we would describe this, with both tracks having a strong floor feel to them and getting that hands in the air feel we hardly feel anymore."

Artist: HERLIHY & TORRANCE
Title: So That's What Happens
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MOOD 047EP
With Isolée remix! I"After the highly successful debut release on Moodmusic 'Machine Ate My Homework' (played/charted by Roman Flügel, Hell, Tiefschwarz, Kiki, Loco Dice etc) from London-based Gavin Herlihy, we offer you the next step in the form of 'So That's What Happens.' Produced together with partner in crime Craig Torrance, this bad-ass funk fuelled minimal influenced dancefloor monster has already created a huge buzz on ultra limited promo CDs... already hammered by Ewan Pearson, Kiki, Tiefschwarz, Damian Larazus among others, this one will prove that these guys are no one-hit wonders! For some extra kick we asked Isolée aka Rajko Müller to drop his Kraut electronics all over 'So That's What Happens' -- beefing up his 808 and assorted rattlesnakes, Isolée creates a stellar arrangement with so much finesse and soul it could be another future classic."

Artist: SASSE
Title: Gravity Remixes
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MOOD 049EP
"We asked our favorite remixers of the moment to tackle the electronic disco vibe of the original Sasse production taken from his recent album, Made Within The Upper Stairs of Heaven. Peter Dildo, the man behind Trackdown Records has in the past 12 months delivered such dance floor bombs that it was an easy choice to ask him to rework 'Gravity.' Peter delivers his phat trademark sound of deep-house meets postminimal in a slamming arrangement of fine tuned drums and hypnotic synthstabbing. Nick Chacona and his partner in crime, Anthony Mansfield from Hector Works/Rong Music fame takes the original mix through their New York disco mill and delivers a severe piece of doped-up cosmic disco -- only for the headstrong! Last but not least, the Finnish old-school electro guys Mr Velcro Fastener transforms the original into an 808 jam with vocal samples to a final climax."

Artist: SCHWARZ, HENRIK
Title: Walk Music
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MOOD 051EP
"Henrik Schwarz does not need any introduction after the amount of classic status remixes and releases he's been churning out in the last years on Sunday Music, Moodmusic, K7, Innervisions and Ninja Tune, among others. After his highly acclaimed K7 DJ-Kicks mix CD last year, he is now back to where he started in 2002 with the Supravision EP (Mood Music), and boy are we happy and proud to have him on board again. Walk Music came to life some years ago on one of Henrik's amazing live shows and as with all good things, it was worth the wait! 'Walk Music' is a deep, mesmerizing excursion into his soul-funk-disco roots with a mysterious vocal line chugging into your mind while the driving beat and bass keeps your butt moving -- pure funk, we say. Some added strings and an exceptionally surprising arrangement make this another classic Henrik Schwarz journey. The 'Walk Music 2003' version is the original rough live version re-mixed and mastered using old school studio techniques, keeping the rough edges and feel of a live jam. Starting with hypnotic keyboards, leading the way for the vocals and beats to enter the game and further developing into one of his massive twisted grooves, this is the version for the true heads who have experienced him live in a club."

Artist: NAUGHTY
Title: World EP
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MOOD 053EP
"Naughty aka Filippo Moscatello has been in the game for some time. From his days coproducing the early Gigolo releases for some guy called DJ Hell, his artist releases on labels such as Ferox, Good Life and Eskimo, and his remixes and productions for artists such as Goldfrapp, Laurent Garnier, Inner City, Fisherspooner, Terranova, Tiga and Christopher Just among others, his CV is a roll call of the great and the good from the last decade of house and techno. This new artist release is his first for Moodmusic, the start of a new chapter, and put quite simply, it's one of the finest moments of his career. 'World of a Woman' is immaculate and uplifting house music. A deceptively simple melody burrows into your head and your heart, and the whole thing has a sunny and effortless elegance which recalls the very best Balearic records of the early 1990s but still sounds absolutely contemporary. Already being hammered by DJs such as Ewan Pearson and Dirt Crew, this will be a summer anthem on all discerning dancefloors, in the same way that Locodice's 'El Gallo Negro' was last year. 'World of a Man' is a totally different beast, a darker and moodier journey into twirling analog synths and dueling bassline action. This one surely needs to be played out loud and proud. We do so! One 12". Two bombs. It doesn't get better than this."

Artist: DAVE DK
Title: Sweet Yellow
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MOOD 054EP
"Dave DK presents Sweet Yellow, picking up where he left off with 'Okinawa Dance' on Mood Limited and 'Midi Rain' on Playhouse -- slow building, complex grooves keeping the floor nailed from the first moment on, building an anthem with strong synth-lines and his trademark sound design of effects and percussion. 'Prism' is more housier in the beetz department, while building on vocal snippets and chugging keys keeping the tension on high alert. Taking the best of the past and combining it with futuristic themes, we are sure Dave will be up for big things in the future."

Artist: KIKI & SASSE
Title: Belvedere
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: MOOD 055EP
"Kiki and Sasse have once again gathered in the studio and the result is somewhat comparable to their last collaboration, Loosing Touch in early 2006 which highlighted the dancefloors and radiowaves with its electronic touch of disco and Italo mixed with modern production techniques. The Black Head Studios in Berlin were again heavily influencing the sound of 'Belvedere' and with its analog sound and top-notch production. Techno with soul we call it -- somewhat of a mix of what Kiki produces for BPitch and the bass crunchin' productions of Sasse. 'Grand Cru' is influenced by early Detroit house but rocks the floor from a different perspective, deep but chuggin', it transforms from wild pitch synth lines and quirky effect to a bass-heady house monster, reminiscent of early Murk sound. This needs to be played out loud and proud!"

Artist: MUGWUMP
Title: Memory Lane Refund
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.50
Catalog #: MOOD 056EP
"The Belgian power-trio Mugwump have gained solid support from the likes of Ewan Pearson, Ivan Smagghe and Ata among others in the recent years for their floor crunching sound on labels such as Eskimo, Hi-Phen, Suicide, Crosstown Rebels and Brique Rouge. 'Memory Lane Refund' was projected for Moodmusic as a proud statement. Building on a solid house basement, the original is influenced by early Chicago and UK house with jacking beats and excellent synth workouts from the Belgian maestros. Their own Acid Retraxion remix works out some more rolling beats and an evil bass line straight from Chicago á la 1987. For remix duties, Alexander Maier turned the original upside-down and injected a funky, yet melodic dose of new school house in its best form. This rocks. Sasse delivers a serious Sunday afternoon rocker with the same flow as his recent work with Kiki & Nick Chacona."

Artist: SPIRIT CATCHER
Title: Voo Doo Knight Remixes
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: MOOD 060EP
"Who would have expected what happened with the Belgian Spirit Catcher duo after their early releases on labels such as Silver Networks, Missive, Winding Road and of course Moodmusic. The original Voo Doo Knight release on Moodmusic hit the shops in 2005 and it devastated floors all over the world with the result of catapulting Spirit Catcher into the big league of producers. After almost 4 years of constant touring and remixing, 'Voo Doo Knight' was still one of the highlights on their recent debut album Night Vision on 2020 Vision. So we thought it's time to re-vitalize this classic and asked the guys what they thought about the idea. 'Sure, let's do it -- we got a killer live mix of 'Voo Doo Knight' which we've been playing the past 2 years on our live show -- let's put it out!' So there was one side already scored from the guys themselves, what more can you hope for? Well, we got Spain's best kept secret, Wagon Cookin to deliver a mean, nasty and dirty workout which rocks the spots right on. Starting with breaky intro going into jacking analog territory with a lot of 'oomph' they're known for. This has been road-tested in the last months and it is absolutely rocking -- we could have expected nothing less actually!"

Artist: DAVE DK
Title: Volar Remixes
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: MOOD 061EP
"Fresh from the actual Dave DK album Lights and Colours here we have the first remix pack of it in the form of Volar, a collaboration between Dave and Alex Krüger aka Tigerskin. Dave asked his favorite producers and got quite a bunch of superstars on one record. Miss Jools from London delivered a super dope housey but still techy workout with stabby synths and an amazing snare which blows your mind away. Next up is Holger Zilske aka Smash TV, Dave's longtime production partner and drinkin' buddy, to show some of his analog love to 'Volar.' The arsenal never ends it seems when he unleashes one of his trademark Oberheim pad-attacks with enough chunky deepness to rock any club. Last but not least we get Mr. Sascha Funke to deliver his trademark deep but techy workout which lends a string part from another Dave DK album track, 'Stargazer' to full effect. To fill the pack we included the original 'Volar,' which sounds amazing on a big system with a pulsing bass and throbbin' synth stabs."

Artist: SASSE
Title: New Sun Day
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: MOOD 062EP
"First single from the forthcoming album called Toinen, Sasse comes forth with two long, evolving, pulsing deep tracks which bring the Finn back into his roots of house music. 'New Sun Day' is not exactly deep house in its purest form, but is evolving into a melodic synth-laden monster with a skippy rhythm and a deeper than deep bass line which rolls the track into a 12-minute journey of trippy melodies and quirky effects. 'Clemens' is dedicated to a well known producer from back in da days with its stabby groove and white noise punctuated arrangement with slow evolving analog trickery in the bass-department. A slightly darker affair than 'New Sun Day,' 'Clemens' still keeps the groove more hypnotic than in your face. Toinen, the second artist album from Sasse will be released in September on Moodmusic and this 12" gives a good insight on things to expect."

Artist: CHOPSTICK & JOHNJON
Title: Double Dribble
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: MOOD 063EP
"Another new Moodmusic signing is the longtime Berlin producer duo of Chopstick & Johnjon from Criminal Records and Baalsaal Records fame. Fresh from their recent Dirt Crew Records hit Birds the guys deliver another double A-sided bomb with Double Dribble / Rebound on Moodmusic. Double Dribble starts with a low-slung vocal making waves for the modulating hook-line and a build up before breaking into a 7 a.m. sun-riser hand-raiser break. Intense, yet deep, 'Double Dribble' has a classic Berlin house feel to it. 'Rebound' takes another route, starting with jacking percussion alá Chicago and a summerish synth groove which almost gives this a Balearic feel to it. Working the groove, the tracks builds and builds with more layers of analog heaviness and a neat arrangement, before dropping into a surprise break of Rhodes chords, giving the track another dimension. Feel the love when you drop this shit!"

Artist: MAIER, ALEXANDER
Title: Sahara
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: MOOD 064EP
"A fresh addition to the Moodmusic roster but a longtime veteran in the house-scene, Alexander Maier aka DJ All*star from Stuttgart is well known from his earlier releases on Buzzin Fly, Exun and Criminal Records. He began his career playing underground techno in the south of Germany, but over the years became more and more influenced by Detroit and Chicago house. You can hear these influences on 'Sahara' in both the 'Rain' and 'River' version. Deep and reduced grooves with enough soul and atmosphere, yet fully functional for the floor, 'Sahara Rain' kicks in with a heavy bass sequence building a perfect platform to be followed by the synth theme which hits the peak hour perfectly. I see some hands going up here already. 'Sahara River' starts more housey, building a classy, low-slung huge groove with percolating synths and an almost tribal feel to the drums. The modulating synths lift the track to new heights with a break of superbly layered twisted pads before the drums kick back in full effect. As this would not be enough we asked our trusted Chicago connection and Alex's buddy, Mazi aka Audio Soul Project to remix 'Sahara Rain.' If you consider people who have been in the biz for some time Mazi is one of the warriors of 'the Sound,' never choosing the easy way but following his true way of house music. And house it is, classic but cleverly updated to 2008 with a twist of So-Cal thrown in for good measure. Bouncey and jacking are the words that come to mind when hearing this, excellent work and a another bomb for the hot months to come."

Artist: PENNER + MUDER
Title: Are You Lost
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: MOOD 065EP
"There´s another new, exciting talent to be found on Moodmusic. John Muder, known for his partnership with Chopstick as Chopstick & Johnjon has this teamed up with Nils Penner, a Hamburg native who´s earning his living in the world of graphic design but has lost his love in music. As a team, Penner+Muder brings some white boy soul into the dancefloors of our taste, mixing modern influences with the soulful voice of Mr Muder. Are You Lost brings back those shivers from 15 years back when you heard Chicago house the first in the right atmosphere and mind-set, giving the edge to the night. It´s a house sound we all know and love, but the sincere contribution from John makes the song something to remember. Not to exercise economical suicidal tendencies running a label we brought something more floor compatible for the pussies around us who can't play a vocal tune. The dub of 'Are You Lost' is a groovy affair, taking the essence of the original and putting the house sound of Berlin right where it belongs. It's deep and nasty and we love it. For the flip 'Millennium Falcon' takes crisp beats, a murder bassline and an evolving synth line, making a simple but destructive floor burner from the finest caliber. Been played by Sasse on every gig since early 2008 this is one of those secret weapons you don't want to give out to other DJs. Well, now you got it, use the force!"

Artist: SASSE
Title: Break Up Remixes
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: MOOD 066EP
"The standout track from the recent Sasse album Toinen, 'Break Up' has gained props and thumbs-up from all over the world -- now served in hot remixes from Timewriter, Dirt Crew and Turntable Rockers. The original is, of course, in its full glory included. With support and plays by Todd Terje, Jeff Samuels, Marc Roberts and Sian to name a few, the original is a perfect match of old school meets new school. Timewriter tackles the theme with his trademark bounce, and adds a flavor of elegant tech-house to it all, spicing up the strings into a frenzy of cut-ups and massive synth lines, building a tense arrangement, which will work on both big-rooms as well as for the connoisseurs. 2nd up is Moodmusic faves Dirt Crew, offering one of their dry, driving and for-the-floor-injected remixes with a strong house appeal but definite dubby techno influences which will work a treat at 6 a.m. Last but not least, Berlin producers Turntable Rockers turns 'Break Up' into a more sinister late night house affair, with added vox snippets and an arpeggiated darkroom disco feel to it."

Artist: BOOGIE DRAMA
Title: The Conspiracy
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: MOOD 067EP
"We welcome our dear friends from Milano, Boogie Drama (aka Lele Sachi and Sandiego), once again for a dancefloor destructor on Moodmusic. The duo has recently delivered hot 12-inches for 2020 Vision and Systematic and kept their profile well in demand for the past 2 years. Lele, known from his residency at the Magazzini Generali in Milano, is a proven veteran in the Italian house scene and his partner Sandiego is an absolute wizard in the studio, bringing their refined sound to a dancefloor near you. 'The Conspiracy Pt. 1' builds on arpeggiated synthlines and a Moroder-like bassline dropped on top of driving beats and a super duped arrangement aimed for the floor but keeping it intelligent enough to be played for more discerning crowds. 'Pt. 2 'takes a more housey approach, taking a note from the Hamburg school of modern deep house with stabby keys, a big chunky bassline and some neat effects. A sure-fire floor filler. Sasse delivers one of his rare remixes for his own imprint, stretching the arrangement into 12 minutes of bliss, mixing in a proto-house feel with a balearic techno touch to it. Think Detroit in 1992 but produced with modern means and add one of the meanest basslines this side of the pond to the picture. Well in-demand already by Ewan Pearson, Dirt Crew and Todd Terje -- this is destined to be big."

Artist: LIL TONY
Title: Raw Trax Vol. 1
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: MOOD 068EP
"Lil Tony, known for his perfect blend of afterhour and old school DJ sets, set high standards with his Future Beat Investigation project in 2007-08 together with fellow Helsinki heads Roberto Rodriguez and Kimmo Oksanen from the infamous Acid Kings combo. Releases on Raw Fusion and Sonar Kollektiv plus a bunch of remixes for 2020 Visions and Laka made their name one to watch. Now he´s dropping some serious raw house grooves on Moodmusic, taking a turn to Dixon Innervisions as a training lap, the serious mileage will be done with the Raw Trax series for Moodmusic. Vol. 1 starts with 'Juuri,' an extensive journey into riffy, 2-note bassline territory with dark themes and a demon-like drum programming taking from the Chicago school of books alá 1987. Works like a fuckin' dream as one noted on a recent gig at Redrum, his local Helsinki club-night. 'Make Some Noise' blends Kerri Chandler influences with the perfect tech-house touch from his previous FBI singles, rolling the bass til you drop -- it´s raw and we like it. The closing track 'Semble' could be hard to describe as a Moodmusic sound, but has such a powerful wild pitch groove we could not let it slip to another label out there. Sample mania pure, this is Junior Vascquez raising the roof in 1995 for those hot moments at Sound Factory Bar, you surely can project this for the 2009 to be hotter than hot!"

Artist: MOSCATELLO, FILIPPO NAUGHTY
Title: Pagliaccio EP
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: MOOD 069EP
"2008 began a new chapter for Berlin-based Italian Filippo Moscatello, with his choice to retire his DJ Naughty alias representing a shift back to his techno and house roots after a decade of eclectic, electro mischief. Metamorphosis and re-invention are key themes. Equally prolific as remix artist and producer, Filippo has reinvigorated tracks for artists of the calibre of Goldfrapp, Fischerspooner, Inner City and many others. Equally prominent in his productions, an intuitive logic maps Filippo's ascendancy to the forefront of the Berlin soundscape. Sicilian-born, his Italo-disco education resonates throughout his releases on seminal labels such as Eskimo and K7!, and reflects in his relationships formed with studio mates and kindred spirits Ewan Pearson and Sasse. His latest transformation has found fertile ground on Sasse's Moodmusic imprint, with last year's World EP paving the way for a new studio album. These sophisticated house and techno productions count as some of Filippo's finest work yet, suggesting that his decision to send the naughty boy to bed might just be taking the party to the next level. The first 12-inch to be taken from his album Pagliaccio features 3 dance floor favourites. Starting with 'Kleinmond,' a journey of the finest tribal influenced deep house made for those remarkable 6 pm dj-sets, fitting equally well into small intimate surrounding as well as super club soundsystems ala Panorama Bar or Fabric Room 1."

Artist: DIRT CREW
Title: Redux
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: MOOD 071EP
"Dirt Crew aka Peter Gijselaers and Felix Eder have been Moodmusic favorites since their early days in 2004, when Rock The House emerged on the MBF label out of Cologne. Their electro influenced house productions soon found their way to Moodmusic creating numerous hits like '808 Lazerbeam' and 'Domino,' and the all-time classic remix of 'Soul Sounds' from label head Sasse. Dwelling a few years in more dubbed out minimal sounds, Dirt Crew are back on the block with more of their original raw-as-fuck love of house music, as we all like it. Taken from their forthcoming album Blow, this is the first single in 3 years from the guys on Moodmusic and we're so happy about it. Starting with 'Redux' -- an old school stomper with a 2009 production to keep it fresh. Lending a touch from early Deep Dish this has the massively hypnotizing 'hands in the air' factor in true Dirt Crew style. Already tested at the last Moodmusic Night at Panorama Bar, this was the highlight of the Sunday afternoon! 'Deep Cover' is slowly evolving with a dubbed house feel and perfectly arranged vocal samples getting the biz done. Followed by 'Rough Roads,' the theme stays the same -- deep bass confiscating the groove, holding no hostages with a building arpeggiated synth line making the track as comfortable at home as well as in a hazy club at 5 AM"

Artist: SASSOMATIC
Title: Basic Needs EP
Label: MOODMUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: MOODLIMX 001EP
"Label head honcho Sasse delivers 3 dirty tracks for the floor on the new Moodmusic Digital release. For the vinyl fans we also do a strictly limited pressing of this release. 'Butta' builds up slowly with shuffling sharp beats and a deep bass reminding of early Ibadan style groovers , growing into a monster synth-laden orchestral orgasm with percussive elements flowing in and out of the mix. 'Dirtie' is more of the early '90s-flavored house which Sasse masters so well. Kicking beats and a quirky bassline from his beloved Elka Synthex analog monster plunges the track into full floor mode, bringing later some warm strings to soothe your soul. 'Physics' is the real old schooler here, a simple beat-bass groover which kicks ass on the floor, building the perfect ground for a filtered, dirty synth stab running into madness before some hypnotic strings drops in and breaks the track for a final climax."
