Artist: SWEET N' CANDY
Title: Resonance/Polyester (Blackwall Rmx)
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSM 001EP
"Well, just as its mascot is an opossum, our new label, might be still small and quite an outsider in the big clubworld, but just as our furry friend got endurance, dares to be different and is actually quite ferocious and determined to make it into the limelight. The pouch of this first opossum is well stocked with two acoustic delicacies that couldn't be more different: 'Resonance' by Sweet n' Candy fascinates with its gnarly and only superficially monotonous sound aesthetic. The bassline is busy throughout: swinging, bouncing, constantly changing and accompanied by nice sound gimmicks enhancing the experience. On the flip Christian Hoffman aka Blackwell remixes Sweet n' Candy's 'Polyester' which saw a release on Raum Music in its original form. He pretty much sticks to the original melody but gives it a phat minimal electro sound without surrendering to kitsch. Enjoy both pieces with the volume bordering on pain."

Artist: TIGERSKIN
Title: Desperate Mouselives/Ring of Beans
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSM 005EP
"There's not much left to say about the multiply-talented personality Alex Krüger. Dub Taylor, Tigerskin or Korsakow -- as a manifold producer he's literally rented the funk. 'Desperate Mouselives' is a hymn on the small life which never gets any bigger just because we'll be growing a bit older than a small rodent's life. Basically we share the exact same destiny. We go in the first round and start off totally funky -- and believe that it won't ever change. Well, it doesn't, kind of. Except for the fact that some of us suddenly become aware of their shockingly sparse timeframe on this planet -- and begin to rave their butts off. For them, for others...to be honest: sometimes to become desperate a bit, but still pretty wicked, isn't it?"

Artist: GUNNE
Title: Sleepin Beauty/JuToo
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSM 006EP
"With Release 006 the Opossum introduces another new and talented producer named Gunne. He is from Erfurt / Germany and quite new at producing tracks on his own but he has been in the music business for years, his sound is often very rough, unpolished and straightforward. Regarding to the fairytale you all surely know -- the 'Sleepin' Beauty' -- the track is in fact some kind of melancholic. We provide 2 additional remixes, one for each track: Blackwall tries to reanimate the 'Sleepin' Beauty' by kissing her in 4/4 strokes and playing synths designed for the dancefloor. Though it is the same with the Antilôpč rework of 'JuToo,' which is a new collaboration between 'Tigerskin' Alex Krüger and Opossum label owner Marcel Jochmann: They created a completely new track and embedded just a loop from the original, very carefully and with lots of feeling into some kind of a trancy minimal progressive anthem."

Artist: WICKINGER, LARS
Title: Cobra Liebe/Delfine Im Tank
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSM 007EP
"Sweet Swede! 007 Lars Wickinger fires at the dancefloor in the name of Her Majesty. Some of you might relate him to the C.I.T. project which has already launched successful releases on Spoiler Records and Monika Kruses imprint Electric Avenue. As an old guitarrero Lars knows exactly how to rock: he played his way through various grunge and hard rock bands before, via new wave and some synthie-pop he approached the devices responsible for his current sound. 'Cobra Liebe' -- naturally stirred AND shaken -- comes, as a matter of fact, pretty close to said reptile's bite. So it doesn't take long until this sound cocktail becomes real poisonous. To all anxious animal-rights activists: don't be fooled by 'Delfine im Tank!' No single sea mammal did get nicked into tiny bins. The track was rather conducted as a background tune for US-Army trailers: lurid shots show a flipper platoon driving tanks after bitching about having to stick ammunition belts on adversarial warships all day long. 'Out of Schweiß' is a real afterhour-burner -- and rather true to its name. After all, what's sweating during an afterhour are no frantically wincing bodies but rather the synapses. And that's exactly what they're gonna do once more when hearing this track accompanying accurate optics."

Artist: PISKE, MORITZ
Title: Ein Kanguruh Im Clubraum
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSM 008EP
"Yo folks, back from the intergalactic time warp the guys from Opossum records returned down to earth, negotiated the screening lines just to present their new piece of luggage. Moritz Piske."

Artist: VA
Title: Kalte Fuesse Vol. 2
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSM 010++EP
"Including productions from Joachim Spieth, Einmmusik, Antilopé and Bjoern Stolpmann! 'Kalte Fuesse' is a project brought to life by Stuttgart-based Fick Shui (run by Lubna Forer) to prove their passion for both sharp clothing, metal and skulls (now you have to know that Fick Shui is a fashion label specializing in the design of individual dresses with a little mad twinge) and for electronic music. The unique concept consists in an open artist community trading tracks for remixing purposes. Thus we are even prouder to release an election of the more than presentable results of Kalte Fuesse on two 12" vinyls."

Artist: ROSSI, GENNARO
Title: Multicoloured Plants
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSM 010EP
"In the late summer 2005, Gennaro Rossi heralded a new age of sound with Art of Thrill/Phono Punk (released on Mutekki Records) -- a milestone that strove to perfection with this latest release Multicoloured Plants on Opossum Recordings. The very own sound of Gennaro Rossi is a minimalistic fusion of trance and house tunes combined with a quite rocking drive. His tracks literally revive our world's dancefloors -- and it can be guaranteed that this release you hold in your hands right now will take one more step ahead."

Artist: REZ, PABLO
Title: Wasabi
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSM 011EP
"Pablo Rez is back!!! After a successful release on Force Sense including a wicked Sweet 'n'Candy remix, this record puts a huge dose of Wasabi on da Possum. During a trip to Japan, Pablo's Italian roots obviously became opalescent Asian branches. The new EP is called Wasabi and it is holla hot, you can hear it musically as well! Whereas one hears sinister Samurai vocals combined with distorted glassy bamboo-stickbeats on 'Toshimi,' 'Mishima' takes you on a trip with the traditional Japanese art of drumming. These elemental rhythms refuse to let you stand still, you will more be driven to fidget wildly like a koi carp in the fresh night air. Copenhagen-based Andreas Jřrnvil is digging the groove trench considerably deeper. Clearly integrated with deep, rolling beats, he spices up the original after his fancy to create the 'Danish Buttercookie Remix.' An Asian recipe with Scandinavian ingredients."

Artist: BROOMBECK
Title: The Clapper
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: OPSM 015EP
"Broombeck... say again? Wild speculations arose -- as for example that Broombeck might be an undercover alias of a certain Mr. Ali Shirazinia, whom some of you may better know as Dubfire -- but as far as we know up to now, The Clapper is not a Dubfire production, sorry. However, let's not focus on the Broombeck mystery any longer and a bit more on his wicked tune 'The Clapper' instead, which is nothing but a percussive peaktime techno-monster that stomps lippediclap ahead, totally focused and merciless, while using hammering wooden drums to set dancefloors on fire and to let ravers crack up until they call for a rewind. Once more, the 'Possum is further adorned by two remixes, contributed by Finland-based Roberto Rodriguez (a born-and-bred Scandinavian, yet with Spanish roots) in cooperation with 'Frozen North' label boss Jussi-Pekka, as well as the Opossum head honcho. The Finnish crew doesn't mind the clap that much, transfers the original on a less percussive level and lets off Detroit-stylee old school vibes on the original's drifty bass line while chief possum Marcel Jochmann casts a phat 'Red Haring' that walks abroad in deeper waters. To make it short -- a record for every season."

Artist: FORMAT:B
Title: Split Pot Inhouse Mixes
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: OPSM 016EP
"With their Split Pot EP, the Format:B guys have shown us once again that you can play for high stakes with the cold-bloodedness of a Tennessee bourbon distiller, so that Mount Everest will seem like a piece of fly shit on the rim of a fruit plate -- as long as you know your enemy's hand! Seems like they knew it: even half a year after the official disclosure of its content, the Split Pot EP still remains a highly sought-after trophy of vinyl lovers, Beatporters and Soulseekers all over the world. And just like it goes with poker, the Opossum is upping the ante and throws in the highest hands of his own posse. Right after the Format's, Moritz Piske travelled slipless to Seattle. Now he's back with two extra suitcases of panties that were thrown at him on his tour, though he didn't even have to ask for them. Of course, that has made his pocket rocket soar with the enhanced self esteem of his deep groove, resonating each second. In a case like this, you better make sure your trousers are as baggy as they have to be for their contents to fill them! In his 'Humatronixmix,' Dub Taylor introduces the prototype of his very own man-machine which is obviously programmed only to march strictly forward and has no reverse gear at all. Meanwhile, Broombeck mercilessly beats the big drum with his stunningly huge Clapperhands and the Minipossum newbies Abonné finally score with a summer night's dream, mashing up Rabbit Hunt and Full House their very own way. No doubt a winner's hand -- as good as it gets nowadays, in any case!"

Artist: BROOMBECK
Title: Protect Your Neck
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: OPSM 018EP
"The neck area is the most vulnerable and deadly spot that could kill a human being instantly. If you notice your dogs - provided you have one -- they bite the neck when they are attacking your stuffed animals. A vampire would bite someone's neck because the jugular vein is there, which means the neck is an easy place to get to large amounts of blood quickly. The more we think about it, we reckon that vampires just bite the neck because it looks good for the camera. Possibly Broombeck named his Clapper follow up Protect Your Neck cause it just should work like another slap in the neck: This chord-impregnated bass-monster rolls all over the dancefloor like a tank and fires high spirits out of all muzzles at the same time. For the improbable circumstance that chief cannoneer Broombeck should really shoot off target or in case there is some trippy afterhour flick going on, the remixing gunners Harry Axt and Dinamoe will take care for guaranteed strikes. You best protect ya neck!"

Artist: SWEET N' CANDY
Title: Behind The Scenes
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: OPSM 019EP
"It´s not a bad thing to take a look behind the scenes every now and then. Unfortunately, lots of people used to regard the world as rarely realistic, but rather ideological. Instead of seeing the world as it is, people prefer to imagine what it could be but are disappointed if reality does not match the ideal. Definitely, one shouldn't believe what generally is believed. Who believes, primarily just doesn't know the score. That's not a shame at all. But then it wouldn't be bad to desist from blowing oneself and others up just in the name of faith, condemn people of different faiths or renounce sex before marriage. Probably there is a lot more out there as we may know or presume. But, however, it is the representative on what we don't know or just presume: We don't know it and that's why we just guess. Of course we can make something out. That's nice and funny. But we should´t ever declare it as religion and the genuine truth. But it´s the truth that this shaggy rocker has resurged to step forward the scenes again and confess the holy acoustic impact: SweetN.Candy is alive -- and everybody who renders homage to him will come to the dancefloor for good! Just buy this record to listen to it loud and you get flown through a comforting feeling of absolute blessedness."

Artist: PISKE, MORITZ
Title: Real One
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: OPSM 021EP
"Recently, Uncle Werner talked about a fundamental question that he saw scribbled on a wall of a bog somewhere at a highway service station: 'Does intelligent life on earth exist?' Below was written in an exotic type: 'Yes, but we just stopped for peeing and refuelling the spaceship.' In case that there soon might be the first intergalactic vinyl-store on Uranus, we will also put a limited do-it-yourself origami-spaceship into 500 sleeves of the finished record. To alleviate the lucky 500 folding their very own flying saucers then, we put a link to the construction manual at the backside of the sleeves. So come on and join Moritz 'Uncle Werner' Piske capturing new sound galaxies with these bouncing smashers. Also perfectly suitable for a hot summer here on mother Earth."

Artist: BROOMBECK
Title: The Clapper Reclapped
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: OPSM 022EP
"With this release, The Dolphins, Daso and Monoder deliver a massive remix package on Broombeck's Uberhit 'The Clapper.' Italian producers collective The Dolphins transfer the original techno stomper into an up-to-date, techno-housey reinterpretation with overwhelming peaktime attitude while space cowboy Daso drifts into a more intergalactic dreamy dimension, one can almost imagine shiny happy people slapping their friends while clapping their hands. Finally, Jussi-Pekka brings up his Monoder character to calm down again, as if he just got back from the darkest Rökerei in Good Old Amsterdam. We call it Clapno!"

Artist: PISKE, MORITZ
Title: Real One: The Realmixes Pt. 1
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: OPSM 024EP
"The world's dancefloors got a nice buzz from our Real One EP earlier this summer. All the more we are pleased to present part 1 of the best Remixes: First comes from the real fresh music-rookie Daniel Kampf. With just one release until now, he's just doing his first steps within the ever growing scene of electronic music producers. But he's making tracks! Here he creates a new variation of the Saturday Night Fever virus to pass it on to you. Pull on your bell-bottoms, drop this tune and watch the rooftop getting blown away. On the flip we present a deep and dubbed out treatment by an arctic hare with Spanish roots, Roberto Rodriguez, hailing from Tampere / Finland. He is a regular guest on Opossum in the meantime. Once more we hope you will be as happy as we are with his sophisticated work. Time to get real."

Title: Get OPSMized
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: OPSM 025EP
This record brings you four groovy tracks from Opossum label boss Marcel Jochmann, early label protagonist Rico Henschel, Moritz Piske, and label newcomer Daniel Kampf. This 12" is housed in some unusual packaging, using jute, which first appeared during the '80s eco-movement. This collection of tracks is a big ripper celebrating the awesomeness of the electronic movement.

Artist: BLACKWALL
Title: Black Crack
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSMINI 001EP
"A brand new sublabel called 'opossum mini.' The first impact shows us the pretty new definition of dark and club guaranteed techy-house, produced by no one else than Blackwall. After high quality productions and remixes on labels like Opossum, Einmaleins and Deep in Rhythm, Blackwall is going to burn down every house from Helsinki to Cape Town with this straight to da point imprint. Deep strings and beamy basskicks open the madness on the A- side, melancholic female vocal samples round this psychie and outstanding piece of tech-house, damn, it is impossible not to go for this one. The flip starts with deep soundscapes and bulky kicks as well, pretty great analogue lines are pushing this one to the maximum."

Artist: DORNHAGEN, VOLKER
Title: Testbild
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSMINI 002EP
"After the big success of opssum mini 001, wich was hammered by a lot of well known DJs, the label comes around with a new part, this time produced by Volker Dornhagen. Dornhagen is not somebody like an unknown producer anymore, he released records on Raum Musik, Treibstoff and Monitor, just to name a few. A1 presents a dark and crispy 'new-school track' called 'Testbild,' if you would ask me I would say a pretty great mixture between older horrorist stuff and Treibstoff soundworks, this one will rock the floor for sure!! The flip comes around with two more bombs, atmospheric and warm chords meet scary soundstructures, call it neo-trance, call it tech-house, B1 called 'Geisterschiff' is my absolutely fave on this long awaited 2nd release."

Artist: KEMI & AMOX
Title: Natas
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSMINI 003EP
"Warning!!! Beware of playing this record backwards if you don't get the message of title track 'Natas' only by reading it in the end, nothing special will happen to you except that a dark voice which is not to be heard at all will try to convince you of some unmoral behavior and an excessive way of life. As this should not be new to you at all, we finally bet you know the score. Regardless of that, this track really contains some kind of magic. Of course there is also something behind that door! We decided not to warn you not to open it, cause you will do it anyway. So better check for yourself what this 'something' is. And if you need some light to see it, we installed the Darkstar right behind... ha, ha, tricked you! Still no light in there. If you want to find out about whaz inside this record you better just try to feel it."

Artist: KARMINA
Title: Wonder (Mathew Jonson & Blackwall Rmx)
Label: OPOSSUM (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: OPSMINI 004EP
"French based DJ queen Karmina makes her debut with this minimal smasher. Supported by a deep waving Mathew Jonson remix and a dark, spheric Blackwall remix... anything else to be said?"
