"The Suffragettes are a production/DJ team of four young Japanese guys: so Inagawa, Sackrai, Yone-ko, Kesu from Nagoya and Tokyo. In 1998, so Inagawa and Sackrai started an electronic noise band. "At Rrygular the second half year begins with a new Ortega & Stav�strand. After a short summer break, that actually had not really happened here at the label, we call to join the Mexican-Swedish funk revolution. On the A-side you'll find 'Sparkling' with its surrounding percussions. To get yourself oriented there is a bassline which is constantly modulating over the 9 1/2 minutes -- even perhaps traumatizing in the end. On the B-side 'Mandrake' with its repeating, breathing phrase 'everybody... everybody...' is adjuring the people to stay and dance on the floor. The final track 'O Amour' is a bit more punchy, but still comes with a moving funkiness. On this twelve inch Ortega & Stav�strand play around with more details compared to their first one on the label last year. So the term minimal is not really appropriate anymore. Maybe it's more like funk'n'groove with a good portion of a technoid drive."

"Marcel Knopf is more a DJ than a producer. You'll notice that fact while listening and dancing to his sophisticated DJ sets, but also when looking up his release history to date. Knopf is definitely not one of these guys who release their umpteenth record on the umpteenth label. Haste makes waste... that's the plan as it seems. One and-a-half years after his debut on Rrygular, Thinkaboutyou marks his second more floor-oriented record on the label. On the A-side, the title track follows his prior Lloyd & Narain release, but it reveals an improved arrangement and the vocal sample used here is a tidy ear-catcher. The title is a translator's nightmare, with "Untiefen" paradoxically meaning both deep and shallow, dependent on the context. Social critique or statement of intent? Niklas Worgt is a man of multiple identities. In 2010 he celebrates his 10th anniversary as Dapayk with a number of releases, like the album collection Decade One on Mo's Ferry. Although "Dapayk" is Worgt's most commonly-known moniker, he has been releasing sublime minimal techno as Marek Bois since 2006. It is under this guise that he presents to us the irrepressible Boissche Untiefen. Originally released in May 2008 on double CD, double vinyl and a remix 12", this album was a comprehensive package to follow up on his earlier, critically-acclaimed albums Black Beauty (MFP 031CD/LP) and Close Up (MFP 016CD/LP) -- a culmination of the works as one half of Dapayk & Padberg. The title Boissche Untiefen is a translator's nightmare, with "Untiefen" paradoxically meaning both "deep" and "shallow," dependent on the context. Social critique or statement of intent? Regardless, this record sails above the murky waters of mediocrity. Irrespective of the name it falls under, one thing synonymous with Worgt is a propensity to introduce rich and unusual sounds to his productions, which is nowhere more apparent than on this latest album. Revisiting his technoid roots of the mid-'90s, Worgt used more analog equipment than usual, and resisted the urge to polish tracks in the mix. Boissche Untiefen is a hi-end techno gem, a breathing organic progression through ten tracks that swell with innovation. In Boissche Untiefen, Niklas Worgt moves even closer to becoming the finished article. As inventive as he is prolific, this is a distinctly special album of ultra-modern techno, boiling over with fresh ideas. This package contains three formats. CD1 contains all LP tracks plus two bonus tracks, CD2 is a 61min live set recorded at Tresor, Berlin, November 16, 2007, and the 12" includes remixes by From Karaoke To Stardom, Marcel Knopf, Delete and Flower Pot.

"Lander" features deep, clanging percussion, warm pads and an eerie melodic key loop and "Tlaa" calls upon a kaleidoscopic army of sounds, from warm synth passages to creeping bass pulses. The CD version comes with two bonus tracks and CD2 is a Marek Bois live recording: besides the new album material, it contains some tracks from his previous releases. This is a distinctly special album of ultra-modern techno, boiling over with fresh ideas.

Lump is dub -- the groovy, funky, ass-shakin' kind of style. This piece of wax is Lump's third record on Rrygular and stands in line with releases on FutureDub, Karloff and Sud Electronic. "Fear and Lies" contains some striking vocals by Lerato and Kleinschmager Audio presents a lively, open-air-ish remix with some credits to the old school sound. In contrast to their own more stringent productions, this track has a larger bandwidth. Directed straight to the floor.

French producer From Karaoke To Stardom lets loose another one on Rrygular. "Do You Speak In Glitch" is a somber tune, almost angry, using a vicious vocal phrase, contrasting with a well-balanced and complex rhythmic pattern. The vocal part is the key for the second track, as well: "Here Is A Fruit" is a storytelling song with a deep and warm bass line. What's left when you can't find the words is a feeling of melancholy at its deepest.

This is part 3 of Kleinschmager Audio's techno-tool series, Audio. This time, the collaboration between DJ and audiophile J�rn Kleinschmager from Leipzig and Berlin producer Niklas Worgt (Dapayk) is pure, dry-as-a-bone peak-time. Kleinschmager Audio is the studio project of DJ/audio engineer J�rn Kleinschmager and producer Niklas Worgt (Dapayk, Marek Bois), and this is their first full-length release. Since the late '90s, Kleinschmager and Worgt have constantly exchanged their thoughts, concepts and visions about sound in general and club music in specific. Merging the ideas of a long-time DJ with the experience of a studio producer is always a suspenseful undertaking, and often the outcome remains uncertain. But besides talking about music, performing at different venues and also organizing their own events, a studio project by Kleinschmager and Worgt has never been out of range -- it was just a matter of time. In 2007, their first 12" was released on Mo's Ferry sub-label Rrygular, entitled Audio1. But this was just a starting point for an open series of DJ tools to be advanced and perfected over the following years. After the release of Audio2 in the summer of 2008, and Audio3 in early 2009, Kleinschmager Audio felt ready to work on a full-length album: all tracks from their three 12"s are included in album edit versions, as well as four exclusive tracks. Drawing an arc over an almost 10-year collaboration, they combined outlines from the early sessions back in 1999 with recent ideas, older tracks were polished, and the newest pieces were reviewed again to receive a timeless touch. All this effort makes Audiology a kind of retrospective and a future-oriented work all in one. At the same time, the focus is always on sound, as the album title implies. Like working on a research project, it's about forming an overall sound by scaling each element down to its essence. The album plays around with minimal, deconstructs techno, peers at dub and martyrs house with the inherent structure. This is everything you love about dance music boiled down to its barest elements -- a dissection of rhythm, and an examination of the chemical components of what makes people move. Kleinschmager Audio's Audiology is a DJ album as profound as the changes in electronic music within the last decade.

Les Patates, the Rrygular release by Tassilo, one-half of Pan-Pot, is a serious techno smasher with high club potential. At first, there's just a nice party atmosphere and then a rough beat drops in. "Petite Patate" surprises by adding rudimental elements like the hi-hat, snare drum and billowing pads. Tassilo knows how to send the short melody figure through different stages of sound design, and this gives "Grosse Patate" a level of dynamic that most contemporary techno releases don't provide.

Producer Oliver Ho aka Raudive is not a dark horse -- he returns to Rrygular with his new release Love Is The Devil. Straight and facing forward, but also "back to the roots" somehow, this Englishman knows how to use percussive elements without getting cheesy. A certain reference to electro is obvious, but it underlines the typical dirty Raudive sound, rather than trying to be referential. But who needs genres anyway? This is some kind of club-disco-techno-house-funk-electro monster.
