Artist: FRESKA
Title: Some Turns Inside
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 008EP
"Stil vor Talent introduces this month another newcomer called Freska from the beautiful Murmansk in Russia. The nice James Holden fan took guitar lessons and discovered the world of synthesizer and drum computers in 1996. Freska's tracks reflect the Nordic impressions of his snowy home. He reaches this unique atmosphere by using his acoustic guitar and his love for deep electro, which he proves with this release called Some Turns Inside and which has already been charted by well known artists like Carl Cox and Kiki. Stil vor Talent is proud to present another exceptional talent with style on our sweet underground label."

Artist: KOLETZKI, OLIVER
Title: Follow Up
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 009EP
"This time the label owner himself comes around with the next shoot called Stil Vor Talent number 9. Oliver Koletzki, well known for his remix marathons and as the one and only party-hard guy, brings us another full effect peaktime guaranteed floor-filler, which will break every raver's heart in seconds! Big support from Kiki (Bpitch Control) who remixed this tune, more minimal but also more than DJ friendly."

Artist: DIZKO TOASTER
Title: Toast Hawaii, Remute, Parker Frisby RMXs
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 012EP
"With the signing of south German newcomer Dizko Toaster Oliver Koletzki rediscovers his old love for squeaky peak-time disco house. 'Toast Hawaii' is one of those tracks, starting with the sound of the sea breaking and combining filtered disco grooves with sexy techno synths that take you back to the hedonism of Studio 54. The track itself is the bomb, but the list of remixers is impressive too: Koletzki as Parker Frisby turns it into a smashing hit adding his typically strong loops and some hypnotic vocals. On the flip man of the moment Remute contributes his production skills and creates an effect-laden driving techno piece full of surprises; Stil vor Talents own H.O.S.H. then takes a totally different approach resulting in a deep and warmly grooving Detroit-style track that immerses the listener into the depth of the tune. This record is a lot of fun!"

Artist: KURVE, KAI
Title: Mirisschlecht
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 013EP
"Kai Kurve. His debut single 'Mirisschlecht' features two wonderfully crafted tracks and some really superb remixes by the already established producer Daso and Koletzki himself. The title track is pure afterhour material: pumping minimal techno with an unmistakable playful analog melody. On the remix side, Koletzki turns the track into a main floor anthem starting out with stereo sounds, adding a very strong loop with a great warm bassline and when the breakdown kicks in, the message is Feierei -- full on. Dreamy string pads and trippy vocal guarantee goose bumps on the dance floor! The Daso remix is a straight floor killer, too. The recipe: tons of reverb on the original synthie, an effect-laden loop with loads of percussion and a chopped-up vocal. If this was not enough already, Kai Kurve's 'Du Gut' takes it back a step resulting in something that could easily be termed minimal electronica: very well produced pads and a static bass over some straight beats. This single has got it all: peak time, after hour and something to listen to at home."

Artist: KOLETZKI, OLIVER
Title: Get Wasted
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: SVT 014CD
"The time has come. Oliver Koletzki, whose career was kick-started in 2005 when Sven Väth picked up his tune 'Mückenschwarm' for a re-release on his imprint Cocoon, is finally getting out his debut album Get Wasted. Koletzki has been hailed for his euphoric new German techno sound releasing tracks on his own two labels Stil vor Talent and Flash Recordings as well as doing numerous remixes and productions for artists as diverse as Client, Rockers Hifi, Oliver Huntemann, The Egg, Karri O, Daso, Lützenkirchen and Cassius. From dreamy minimal to stomping dancefloor hits, Koletzki has got it all. Just like this album. After one and a half years of work between gigs all around the world Get Wastedis now being released on Oliver's own label Stil vor Talent, which means: no compromising. This is 150% Koletzki. You can hear Oliver's unique signature sound in all 11 tracks of the album. Additionally, Oliver sat down with many befriended artists like his partner from Flash Recordings, Florian Meindl, Kiki from Bpitch Control, Ziggy Kinder and Kling Klong label owner Martin Eyerer to produce this diverse album. With Get Wasted, Oliver Koletzki has clearly set the mark for his own productions. Everything from minimal dancefloor hits to melodic pop techno, it's here -- and, of course, of the highest standard!"

Artist: FORMAT:B
Title: Vivian Wheeler
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 015EP
"Their second release on Stil vor Talent. After massive tracks on Opossum and Highgrade Records, their newest EP on Stil vor Talent is another huge minimal monster. 'Kongo Time' is typical for the two Berliners: a flickery percussive loop with some stretched-out effect envelopes over a wobbly drum'n'bass style bassline place this track between freaky rave and minimal chic. It's definitely going to make you trip out for sure! On the flip, it's the funky 'Mondo Time' that builds up over some cuts and bleeps until it leads the listener into pure euphoria when the simple loop kicks in. A huge organic sub bass and some chopped-up vocal samples add the funk to this delirious minimal hit and when it comes to minute 4, you really won't be able to hold your feet still. Format:B are at the top of their game and we are so happy to have them!"

Artist: H.O.S.H.
Title: Grünanlage/Blaupause
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 016EP
"Producer Holger Behn aka H.O.S.H. is back on Stil vor Talent with his third release and second 12" on Oliver Koletzki's imprint. His latest two tracks are all about house music, while always keeping a strict eye on the dancefloor. It starts with the tech-house anthem 'Grünanlage,' the name of a Sunday afternoon open air in H.O.S.H.'s hometown Hamburg that he co-organizes. The tune features a great clappy snare and some wonderful Balearic guitar melodies, which swing over the fast loop. This tune is going to put a smile on your face wherever you are. On the flip there is 'Blaupause,' which translates as 'blueprint' and is a dreamy house-y pusher that keeps grooving with its synthie-stabs and warm bassline. Later in the track H.O.S.H. adds an oldschool piano that pushes the track into another state with its drifting melody. It reminds us of so very many great rave moments. However, H.O.S.H. never gives in to the temptation of drifting off into cheese, stays cool at any given moment and keeps the seal of quality for his music very high. 'Blaupause' is a wonderful summery teaser that never explodes, but keeps imploding! H.O.S.H. once again does what he does best: delivering two wonderfully melodic tracks that fluctuate perfectly between house and techno. Just the way we like it."

Artist: HOLZ, JULI
Title: Tränen Auf Dem Dancefloor
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 020EP
"After what could be described as Stil vor Talent's hit single '3 Tage Wach,' the latest addition to Oliver Koletzkis versatile label, Juli Holz, shows just how diverse Stil vor Talent really is. Its all about good music -- without any genre or style boundaries! Juli Holz is a singer with a great uncompromising voice and a superb feel for the dancefloor. The EP starts of with the title track, a wonderful electro pop anthem with an analogue bassline and some subtle synthies. However, her clear voice is the main object of desire here describing the beautiful chaos that is clubbing. Sweet and pumping! Then there's 'Angst' ('Fear'), a darker play on the poppy melodies that keeps grooving on a more electro-clashy bass and a grooving loop. 'Wo bist du?' ('Where are you?') finishes off the EP -- an introvert piece that is both disturbing in its arrangement and beautifully rocking with a 2-step style snare-laden beat. Deep and moving! These three tracks are Electroclash 2.0, sounding how electro pop should sound in 2008. But that's not all: the vinyl version comes with two remixes. First up is Berlin-based producer Johnjon with his version of 'Angst,' where he stays true to some main elements of the original as well as Juli's vocal and builds a subtle minimal loop below it. After that well-known producer Daso is up, who turns 'Wo bist du?' into a minimal house monster."

Artist: KOLETZKI VS. PARKER FRISBY, OLIVER
Title: This Is So Fuckin' Oldschool...
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 021EP
"Oliver Koletzki is back. Parker Frisby is back. And house is a nation. On his own label Stil vor Talent, the man himself now releases a four track EP titled This Is So Fuckin' Oldschool. His real persona meets his house alias Parker Frisby, both having produced two tracks. First up is Parker Frisby with two tracks, 'Since You Are Gone' and 'Brain Against Heart.' 'Since You Are Gone' is a deep house-y affair with a stomping bass and an effect-laden loop that keeps getting filled with more well-placed effects and a chopped up vocal sample. Over this soundscape, Parker Frisby creates one of the most wonderfully epic melodies that sounds like a summer Ibiza anthem already. Simply beautiful! Then, Parker Frisby comes up with 'Brain Against Heart': in the foreground of this track is the vocal sample. 'Use your brain' is what we hear over this oldskool filter house loop that turns into a wonderful piano house track when the piano melody kicks in over the percussive beats. Some additional arpeggios turn this track into the perfect summer teaser. Then it's Oliver himself with 'Street Life' and the title track 'This Is So Fuckin' Oldschool.' But 'Street Life' is pretty oldskool as well: a chopped-up vocal sample, a clappy disco groove and one of the funkiest bass lines since Grandmasta Flash, with a full-on, wind-down effect inclusive. It is only the few digital effects that place this track in the 21st century. Just tight! Then the title track: a more electronic piece of synth-pop. A wonderful arpeggio floats over the simple, yet effective loop and bass. Dream away to this gloating synth monster that will run shivers down your spine wherever you are, whatever time it is. House is back!"

Artist: NICONE
Title: Una Rosa
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 023EP
"We give you the right shirt for this beat!", is the slogan behind Niconé -- a whole world of music and fashion that doesn't differ between both. For Mr. Gerlach and Mr. Hirtenfellner, one complements the other. "Una Rosa" is a playful late summer hymn: a smoothly pumping bass line, a warm dub, some hi-hats and an addictive chorus. On the flip, Hamburg's house expert H.O.S.H. delivers a remix that turns the track into a percussive acid-house monster.

Title: What We Did & What We Do One
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)

Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 024EP
Subtitled: Best Of Three Years Stil Vor Talent. This is the first EP of a series of three that will feature four of the exclusive tracks on the CD version mix by Oliver Koletzki. Lexy's track is a minimal peak-time-pusher with a hushed vocal-sample, analog signals and a futuristic beat. Mickey Monzza & Joseph Disco present modern dub techno with a straightforward attitude. H.O.S.H. spreads happiness with a bass line so warm, your heart will melt. Animal Trainer finish off with their oily tech-house-anthem for the main floor.

Artist: KOLETZKI & FLORIAN MEINDL, OLIVER
Title: What We Did & What We Do: Best Of 3 Years Stil Vor Talent
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 2CD
Price: $21.00
Catalog #: SVT 025CD
Oliver Koletzki's label Stil Vor Talent celebrates three years of music with this label compilation. There have been 23 EPs, underground techno tracks and popular hits, great newcomer artists, one artist album, and many, many parties. This 2CD package showcases the past, present and future of the label, as mixed by Koletzki and Florian Meindl. CD1 features the best of the past and future of Stil Vor Talent -- 16 tracks that have been licensed exclusively for this mix, including some new fresh names. One of them is Animaltrainer, who have produced a real ear-catching club tune. Also new is David Keno, Norman Weber, and Mickey Monzza & Joseph Disco, with their stabby techno pusher. Well-known label artists include Channel X, with a deep minimal track, Kai Kurve with a piano-electronica piece, as well as Format B and their future-hit "Jawohl." On the second CD, Florian Meindl presents the last three years of Stil Vor Talent by mixing 16 tracks seamlessly into each other. His focus is clear: this is Stil Vor Talent's minimal side of things, from the dancefloor for the dancefloor. He starts out with the title track of his first-ever single on Stil Vor Talent, "Sputnik," a funked-up minimal piece of electro. Then it's straight onto more recent stuff. Channel X's house-y minimal tracks, Johnjon's great "Ach Gewitter" and H.O.S.H.'s house-anthem mark the beginning of his DJ mix. He hits the peak-time with Oliver Koletzki and Kiki's übercool club track "Don't Forget To Go Home" and then slowly brings it down again with Jürgen Kirsch's graceful "Paladina." What We Did... is a magnificent homage to Stil Vor Talent's ability to release records for the dancefloors of the world. These two mixes are not only an absolute necessity for the die-hard Stil Vor Talent fan, they are the perfect pre-clubbing companion -- the best overview of a small and upcoming label that is set to become even bigger. Other artists include Chopstick, Hirtenfellner & Philip Bader, Lexy, Lützenkirchen, Julie Holz, and Dizko Toaster.

Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 028EP
Channel X are back on Stil vor Talent with Groovebox, filled with some grade-A material for the raunchy dancefloor. "Into The Club" has a wonderful, fidgety bass line and a loop filled with soulful vocal samples. The chainsaw effect makes way for serious tech-house business. "Wake Up" is a loop that's made of trillions of cut-up effects, vocal bits and some straight 4-to-the-floor business. "Against The Wall" has frightening effects, lots of reverb on the creepy samples, and balancing harmonies.

"Riotbeatz" is an experimental display of minimal sound design that is still very danceable.

Artist: NICONE
Title: Abayomi
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 031EP
Niconé are back on Stil vor Talent with the lovely Abayomi. Again, it is the wonderful combination of Lexy's production skills combined with Narra's voice that makes this track indescribably beautiful. Their remix features a sample-based pumping loop that keeps on building up. Animal Trainer turn it into a house anthem, and then there is the original: ultra-minimalism meets soulful singing. Be it the real jungle or the jungle that is nightlife, everybody will be united by the beat.

Artist: ANIMAL TRAINER
Title: Pablo
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 032EP
Switzerland's Adrian Flavor and RX aka Animal Trainer present their first release for Stil Vor Talent. "Rumba" is a track that builds around wicked, echoed singing, some warm stabs and a superbly placed, ice-cold sample that, every time it kicks in, kills everything around it. "Pablo" starts out as stripped-down tech house, then introduces a vocal sample, slowly morphing into a warm, house-y groove with analog synths. The main melody is super old school and will have everybody jumping.

Artist: BRAEMER, SASCHA
Title: Ghost Hand
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00

Here, he presents three funky, minimal groovers to Oliver Koletzki's imprint. "Ghost Hand" features a dry, minimal loop with a rhythmic vocal sample, "Girl" is a dubby piece of tech-house with soulful vocals and beautiful strings, and "Guitar Man" is a stripped-down loop with an echoed guitar riff and some dark, wobbly bass lines.

Artist: KOLETZKI (FEAT. JULI HOLZ), OLIVER
Title: Zuckerwatte
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 036EP
"Zuckerwatte" is the second single from Oliver Koletzki's album Großstadtmärchen. The original is softly-grooving electro-pop featuring vocals by Juli Holz. David August, one-half of August & Bachert, delivers a glitchy tech-house edit, while Björn Störig envisions Holz singing over some neo-soul/tech-R'n'B-influenced electronica with Spanish guitar, claps and synthesizers. You'll also find Koletzki's instrumental house-homage "Kusskompatibel" and "These Habits," featuring 17 year-old Pyur singing over a downbeat trip-hop groove.

Artist: KOLETZKI, OLIVER
Title: Großstadtmärchen
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: SVT 037CD
This is Berlin-based techno/house DJ/producer Oliver Koletzki's highly-anticipated second album for Stil Vor Talent. Großstadtmärchen is an electronic album of the finest proportions, and finds the artist fully committed to his roots, which can be traced back to the pop music of the '80s and '90s, while still transporting the fresh energy of today's electronic music productions. Also featured on this record are a wide variety of contributors: Mieze Katz from the German electro-pop outfit MIA, the hot German pop-rock-singer Axel Bosse, critically-acclaimed indie band Kate Mosh, as well as newcomers like Fran, Pyur and Juli Holz. The result is 10 songs that easily fluctuate between catchy pop tracks, modern house grooves and '80s synthesizer pop, while still maintaining the Koletzkieske sound dynamic. "This Is Leisure" is based around Mieze Katz's sexy voice and a seductive guitar song-pattern. "Zuckerwatte" is a very fine electro-pop tune, and "Kusskompatibel" and "Warschauer Straße" harken to the artist's first years in Berlin and his love for house music. "Hypnotized" is a great, shining bright light of pop music that has already made massive waves in Germany. "Headshaped Box" encapsulates what indietronic sounds like in the year 2009: symphonic, melodic and simply unique, and "These Habits" is a downbeat, trip-hop groove, featuring the wonderful vocals of 17 year-old Pyur. Last up is a bonus track: Oliver Koletzki remixes "Nimm Mich Mit" by the electronic boy-band Die Raketen. Oliver Koletzki is not your average techno producer. His productions and his sense for original music also have a deep rooting within pop culture. Thus, Großstadtmärchen is the logical consequence from two decades of intense musical production. Here comes a mature, yet still playful pop album that manages to combine many different influences into one harmonious oeuvre.

Artist: AUGUST, DAVID
Title: Trumpets Victory
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 038EP
David August will keep everyone grooving with his swing-oriented techno for Stil Vor Talent. "Trumpets Victory" features a stompy bass-line, an old school clap snare, a cut-up vocal, some white noise, and then the most beautiful trumpet melody imaginable. On "Guitarra Baja," a Spanish guitar reminds us of how house music used to be: groovy, bouncy, seminal. "Children" is a more percussive house affair with a playful organ line joyfully jumping up and down over bongos and metallic hi-hats.

Artist: SCHWIND VS. KELLERKIND, NIKO
Title: Niko Schwind Vs. Kellerkind
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"

"Hangover" features an array of vocals, laughing, grooves and a super-sweet piano hook-line. "Phreak Out" is a more tech-y affair with a cowbell dominating the loop. "Go" is a deeply grooving sub-monster that instantaneously beams the listener onto a barely lit dancefloor, and "I Believe" is a tripped-out piece of house-y techno.

Artist: KOLETZKI, OLIVER
Title: Großstadtmärchen Remixed
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 040EP
Here comes the second single release from Oliver Koletzki's Großstadtmärchen. Packed with two remixes of "These Habits" by Lexy and AKA AKA, a remix of "Hypnotized" by Dapayk and the original of "U-Bahn," this EP marks the perfect boundary between home listening and club action. Lexy cuts up the vocal only slightly, adding more rhythmic grooves and bouncy loops on top, AKA AKA turn "These Habits" into a tech-house-feast, and Dapayk's wooden loop and analog bass line take a spine-tingling, minimal approach.

Artist: DAPAYK SOLO
Title: The Little Things You Do
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 041EP
Dapayk presents The Little Things You Do for Stil Vor Talent. "This Is The..." is an old-skool house track with syncopated vocal patches and typical Dapayk effects. Call it hypnotic house or groovy dance music, this will work very well on the floor. The remix by Niko Schwind is an uplifting source of tech-house that explodes like a box of firecrackers. "The Groove & Sound" features a percussive house groove with some great old-skool synthesizer action and delayed vocals.

Artist: AUGUST, DAVID
Title: Sweden Roof
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 042EP
David August is back on Stil Vor Talent with his second EP. "Sweden Roof" is about the funkiness of house music and glorious melodic moments. A cut-up vocal sample dominates the groove, and a great organ melody will have dancefloors swinging along to this monster of musical finesse. "Soul Kitchen" is an even more organic piece of tech-house niceness. Clap snares, pianos, a deep male vocal sample and loads of sex appeal makes this truly soulful house music.

Artist: VA
Title: The Very Best Of Stil Vor Talent Digital 2
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 043EP
This is the second edition of tracks from sublabel Stil Vor Talent Digital on double-sided 12" vinyl. Bruch & Junior's "Fiesta De La Residencia" sounds like somebody threw some Spanish vocals and trumpets into a pool of tech-house, while "Sunset" is the euphoric sound for the morning-after. There's a 2010 version of Niconé's "Una Rosa," complete with the original Spanish vocals, but with a more grooving loop, and Murat Kilic with a melodic oldskool house anthem.

Artist: SCHWIND, NIKO
Title: Midnightfunk
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 044EP
Niko Schwind's Midnightfunk EP kicks off with the title track that features the great Chicago-esque vocal skills of Patrick Blasa. Imagine a sticky slap bass, cowbells, high-pitched vocals and low-pitched male laughing, plus a somewhat jetlagged piano. With "Just A Groove," Niko dips deeply into the world of crescendo tech-house while "Sonderbar" takes a more jazzy approach to the tech-house music of 2010. Weird, slightly minimal, but still very musical.

Artist: CHANNEL X
Title: X Files
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: SVT 045CD
Berlin-based producers Mirko Hensel and André Staedter aka Channel X release their debut album after tons of great singles and EPs for Autist, Kassette, Opposum, Upon You and of course, Stil vor Talent. X Files is a continuous mix CD with ten new and exclusive tracks as well as some of the best tracks that they have released on Stil vor Talent in the past. Channel X have been known for their combination of well-produced, driving minimal techno and tech-house and a very soulful feel to their sound. On their first long player they stay true to both their thumping club sound, yet maintain their eloquent patterns in music production. Creating 11 tracks for the floor, this album is a classical producer album -- from the club for the club. From their groovy minimal house anthem "Against The Wall" it's straight on to the new album track "Monday." The hook line of the vocal speaks out of the heart of everybody who likes to extend their weekend until the early hours of Sunday, at least while the music is a two-steppy tech-fest like on this track. "Behind The Mirror" is a perfect showcase of the funkiness that Channel X brings to minimal tech-house: funky effects, short vocal snippets, and some melody stabs. The same customs can also be heard on "Freak Show" and "Circus Bizarre" -- two tracks that symbolize why techno in Berlin could just as well be set in the Golden Twenties: burlesque-sounding magic circus craziness, weird effects, and driving, fast melody patterns. But Channel X can also go from light-hearted tech-y sounds to deep house music. Tracks like "Ghost," a heavily-breathing piece of tech-house or "Spooky Lights," a soulful tech-fest full of effects, melody pads and of course, tons of hi-hats, snares, effects and percussions, are the perfect examples. The mix highlights "We Love The X," a vocal-induced tech-house stomper with those typical signature kick drums and an enormous sub-bass. Next to these new cuts, there are also the best of their old favorite releases like "Against The Wall," "Black Coffee" from the Bug In The Coffee EP, a Channel X remix of Niko Schwind's "Fly," "Mosquito," as well as two unreleased gems: "Ticket" and "My Dear." The cinematic beginning and ending of this mix are the intro and outro to and of a mix that communicates what Channel X stand for as a live act: intuitive and classy, mixing with the feeling for the right moment to drop the right tune. Effects, percussion, soulful grooves and bouncing minimal tech-house: this 70-minute DJ mix is a journey through the best of Channel X.

Artist: KOLETZKI & FRAN, OLIVER
Title: Lovestoned
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: SVT 050CD
On the eagerly anticipated follow-up to Großstadtmärchen (SVT 037CD), Berlin's Oliver Koletzki has teamed up with singer Fran, the voice of the über-successful single "Hypnotized," to record an 11-track electronic pop album. Fran and Oliver are not merely partners in crime when it comes to music -- they are also "lovestoned," glued together by their mutual love for music and their love for each other. Here are eleven songs about getting to know each other, eleven songs about spending time together, eleven songs about the first kiss, eleven songs about the wonder that is love. Muscially, Lovestoned is a journey through Fran's and Oliver's different influences: from sample-based house to synth-pop, from late '70s glam to late '90s ambient, with some jazz nuggets. The impeccable songwriting, the feeling for the right dose of pop anthems, and Fran's pure voice in English and German elevate the music to a new height. Things get going right away with the summery, '70s-inspired glam-pop track "Lovestoned," a smooth piece with shimmering guitars and funky slap-bass. The journey into happiness continues with the first single release "Arrow And Bow" that plugs '80s pop sounds with synthesizers that cause goosebumps, clap snares that will move heads and toes, and of course, Fran's beautiful voice. On "Echoes," Koletzki's background as a house and techno producer meet with Fran's divine lyrics, some groovy loops and some softly-floating pianos and synthesizers. "3" is a Balearic pop song about the love of one person for another that is not yet mutual. A longing feeling for response underlines the atmosphere of this wonderfully hypnotic track. "I Might" is a melancholic song about the love-blues while "Strandbar Berlin" is as happy as happy goes. Oliver Koletzki has also recorded one purely instrumental track for this album: "Hollywood Boulevard" is a funky piece of thumping, percussive house music. This is Oliver Koletzki for the floor: samples mix with synthesizers and result in a very musical piece of house music. "Kissenschlacht" is the ultimate holiday song, "Fingertips" is an electrified, house-y pop song, "Smile" is a pastiche on DJ culture set in kitschy late '70s disco scenery, and "It's A Pleasure To Meet You" is a funky piece of synth-pop. Lovestoned speaks both in the language of pop and the language of love.

Catalog #: SVT 055EP
The enchanting voice of singer/producer Juli Holz can now be heard again on Stil vor Talent. On the title track, Holz sings about the cold feeling after a break-up. Her overlaid vocals create an inner dialogue on top of a poppy groove. Oliver Koletzki's remix keeps the speed of the original but transforms it into a more dancefloor-oriented piece of house music. Juli teams up with Daso to create the tech-house drift of "Königskinder" -- a neatly orchestrated piece of music.

Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 056EP
Bruch & Junior present their first vinyl EP on Stil vor Talent -- four tracks that float between house and techno. "Runway To Kenia" is a deeper tech-house tune built on various samples, "Whatcha Want" is an oldskool piece of house, including that classic 909 open hi-hat, "Seat No Fastbelts" is staccato-house at its best, and "Jazzbians," a very musical house track, includes a superb piano melody, lots of percussion and a very happy vocal snippet.

Dirty Doering adds some melodic synths and guitars to his track that turn "Caje" into an even more summery house affair.

Artist: DAPAYK SOLO
Title: Let Go
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)

The title track features vocals by singer Camara that harken '80s house music featuring some true soul and groove. "Nneka" is a deeper and more melodic tech house glider that gently takes the listener towards a harmonic state of mind. Artist: BRAEMER, SASCHA
Title: People
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 059EP
Sascha Braemer presents three fresh tracks for the spring of 2011. In the meantime, his funky minimal jump-up tech-house has led him to release on labels such as Kindisch and Dirtybird. Things kick off with "Belle," a ferocious attack on your groove muscles and dancing bones. "Felicitous" is considerably slower but is still a deep and dirty suckerpunch to your euphoria synapses. "People" is pure club pop -- so deep it will send shivers down your spine on the breakdown.

Artist: SCHWIND, NIKO
Title: Good Morning Midnight
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: SVT 060CD
For his second album, Niko Schwind has produced ten tracks of house music that follow a musical journey from a pop-infused intro to musical dancefloor anthems. Good Morning Midnight starts out with the vocal house track "Good Morning" that features singer Fran. This collaborative track is a slow-paced house groover with Fran's whispered vocals acting as the perfect starting place for this album. The use of the piano seems central to Niko's productions in this track and it remains a central element on the album. "Shine" is a track that slowly pulsates through a very prolific oldschool bassline, featuring some great vocal samples and, yes, a wonderful harmonic piano melody. Things get a little more technological on "Playground Love," which features the typical "Schwind"-groove that is comprised of some punchy beats and vocal samples on the loop. Then, "People" kicks things off in a deeper direction. The deep and slow-paced synthesizer melody juxtaposes the quite hectic nature of the loop and the bassline on this track. The result is a beautifully deep hit that seems perfect for the start of the peak-time. Aiming for the peak-time itself is the track "Midnight" that is best described as percussive tech-house that features some pretty wasted vocals, stomping bass sounds and pizzicato strings. For the second part of the album, Niko got together with some of his closest production partners. First up are two tracks with his label buddies from Channel X with whom he has produced two melodic tech-house tracks. "Back From The Bar" sounds like the title suggests: a little wobbly, a little drunk, a little crazy, but also pretty magical. "Don't Turn The Lights On" is a more straightforward dancefloor track with the trumpet playing the main part in this. "Wake Up" featuring Staller is another percussive and very funky tech-house affair with some real vintage organs and vocal samples. Things stay very funky on the track that Niko did together with Oliver Koletzki. "Master Of Ceremony" is a chopped-up house track with epic dimensions. When things get to the piano breakdown, they get very musical and colossal before dropping back into a great house track. Last up is "Coming Home," a very slow-moving ambient track that features Patrick Blasa. This almost jazzy and leftfield song with some great vocals perfectly closes the circle of the album that started slow and ends in a similar way. Niko Schwind is a magician when it comes to producing very fine and mature pieces of house music that are sure to work great on the dancefloor.

Title: Little Symphony
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 063EP
Channel X are two of Stil vor Talent's most active producers of meticulously-crafted and deeply energetic tech-house smash hits. They now return with two very convincing pieces of dancefloor art. First up is "Little Symphony," an epic space opera that takes its cues from early '90s techno and mixes it up with post-modern grooves and beats. "Steamboat Willie" is a heavily sample-oriented, swinging piece of jack. Two very different tracks, but both equally stand out for themselves.

Artist: DUPREE & ERICH LESOVSKY, RYAN
Title: Ryan Dupree vs. Erich Lesovsky
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SVT 064EP
Meet Ryan Dupree who shares this release with sonic mastermind Erich Lesovsky. Ryan starts things out with "Don't Stop," an uplifting piece of tech-house that builds on a female vocal sample, some great synthesized drum patterns and effects and a very strong groove. "Step By Step" is a more minimal hit that is based on a huge bass. On the flip, Lesovsky's "Tanzholz" is a real piece of techno that keeps building and "Crystal Clock" is techno at its best.

Artist: KOLETZKI, OLIVER
Title: 6 Years Stil Vor Talent
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 2CD
Price: $21.00
Catalog #: SVT 065CD
Six years and over sixty releases later, Stil vor Talent can look back at many magnificent moments in the label's history. Originally started to give other musicians the chance to showcase their music, Stil vor Talent has preserved this very down-to-earth attitude until today. Now it is time to congratulate everyone involved and the fans of Stil vor Talent with a special birthday present: a six-year anniversary compilation that celebrates the past, present and future of the label on two CDs. The first CD titled "What We Do" presents 17 all new and exclusive, unreleased tracks by a lot of the label's closest artists, while the second CD named "What We've Done" is a 70-minute mix by Oliver Koletzki that includes some of his personal highlights of the more recent past of the label. "What We Do" is a unique compilation that features 17 new tracks that are very much orientated towards all corners of the contemporary dancefloor. From melodic house on tracks by Niko Schwind, Björn Störig, Mick Rubin, Murat Kilic and Chroma & Inexcess to Animal Trainer's beautiful early morning anthem "Krambambuli," house is an overarching theme on this compilation. But other genres find their way into the mix as well: Bruch & Junior have contributed a piece of vocal dub techno with "Slack Me" while Niconé and Sascha Braemer have teamed up with singer Anna Rikje Rosenthal to create a slow-moving pop track. Leaning more towards the tech-house side of things are the tracks by newcomer Ryan Dupree, Kellerkind, Jürgen Kirsch, Tobi Kramer and Channel X. Last, but not least there are tracks by engineering genius Florian Meindl, with his personal take on disco, and by Daso as well as Oliver Koletzki himself. On "What We've Done" Oliver Koletzki has carefully selected and mixed 12 tracks from the back catalog of Stil vor Talent. Starting out with the two piano-based tracks "Jazzbians" by Bruch & Junior and "Shine" by Niko Schwind, Oliver slowly moves into more peak-time territory that culminates in an early climax with the first ever single by David August, "Trumpet's Victory." Things stay hot with Sascha Braemer & Dan Caster's best-selling "People" before calming down a little again with Channel X's "Snug Descent" which features Jake The Rapper. On the last two tracks, the mix gets very musical with a Marek Hemann remix of Oliver Koletzki and Fran's "Arrow And Bow" before things are finished off by a Daso remix of Oliver Koletzki's own "Since You Are Gone." This mix embodies the groove and soul of house music while being delivered with the right punch for a hungry dancefloor.

Title: Romantic Thrills
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: SVT 068CD
Stil vor Talent have long been mad about Niconé and Sascha Braemer. Now it's about time they join forces to release a whole album together. While Sascha Braemer has only recently made waves, Niconé is a long-established pillar of top-class electronic music. Known for their often very musical techno and house productions, Romantic Thrills encapsulates this style while adding an extra element of sex and pop appeal. All their production experience and DJ expertise seems to have streamed into an album that manages, in all its eclecticism, to be conceived as a complete whole. Think what you want from electronic albums -- this one is so much more than a mere collection of unreleased singles. The slow-moving, piano-driven "Dreamer" is more reminiscent of Radiohead than the sound of Berlin's club scene. Simply a pretty epic pop track with a great falsetto vocal line. "Little Love" progresses slowly towards deeper techno terrain with great-sounding synth leads and bass lines. Keeping the vocal elements central to the arrangement, it makes for a wonderfully deep and soulful tech anthem. "Liar" best represents the eclecticism at the album's heart. Over a Skaaeske groove, a chunky bass and considerably slower BPM, a male speaker humorously ponders his relationship to drugs. "Romantic Thrills" then moves things back to the dancefloor, with an infusing tech-house groove, piano stabs and deeply hypnotic vocals. "Runaway," "Pianotic" and "Caje" represent three more prime examples of how to incorporate piano, trumpet and guitar melodies into electronic music organically without sounding artificial. The guitar on "Runaway" adds a deeply melancholic element to a track underlined by wonderful singing, which, again, reminds one of Radiohead. The melodies on "Pianotic," meanwhile, make you want to hug the world again and again. "Caje" takes the Spanish guitar to the dancefloor and makes everyone sit in a circle and clap their hands. Things take yet another turn to more oldskool-oriented dancefloor music with "Never." Sascha and Niconé have managed to recreate a late disco track that meets up with Chicago house along the way. A thick bass line, some wonderful strings and a great melodic vocal make this track special. "Love Me" is one of the most sexy tech tracks on this album. The billowing synth pads and mesmerizing vocal lead the way for the organic and super-deep bass line that kicks in at the right moment, every time. "Not The End" is a powerful little piece of tech-house that works with many delicately arranged samples. Ultimately, "Thänk You" is another humorous and epic spoken-word piece, with a siren marking the groove and the piano melody causing shivers down the spine of the listener. Sascha Braemer and Niconé have clearly managed to create an album with distinct and versatile stylistic aesthetics. This album is all killer, no filler. Featuring contributions from Jan Blomqvist, Narra and Wrongkong.

Title: Humming Top
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: SVT 070EP
Björn Störig delivers the goods on his first solo EP, Humming Top. The title track doesn't waste much time: crisp percussive elements are laid over a beefy bass-line, while a progressive piano melody mingles with a distinctly vintage synth. "Jazz Thang" literally oozes jazz sounds. The bare bones of "Frizzante" are similarly techy, yet decisively sexed-up by funky bass slaps and pressing vocal samples. "Connected Ways" shifts the mood from peak-time to more relaxed territory, finishing off the proceedings beautifully.

Again, all tracks are geared towards the dancefloor as they appropriate those special moments of the originals while employing them to a diverse range of new contextual frames.

Artist: KELLERKIND
Title: Backflash
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: SVT 072EP
Marco Biagini aka Kellerkind's "Backflash" works around a delicately-crafted, vintage Miami synth lead, a dangerously obese bassline and devilishly catchy hook. Niko Schwind's remix subtly shifts the original's elements around while extending its vocal sample. "Disco Light" features laser synths, bleeps and chugging basses that might just catapult you back to Paradise Garage in '78, were it not for the track's classicist house percussion. "Down To" features Kellerkind's own deep vocal hums, replacing a traditional bassline.

Artist: DAPAYK & PADBERG
Title: Sweet Nothings
Label: STIL VOR TALENT (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: SVT 073CD
Niklas Worgt and Eva Padberg aka Dapayk & Padberg join the Stil vor Talent family for their third full-length effort. Similar to their previous LP oeuvre, as well as Dapayk's solo work, one is simply astonished by the diversity, intertextuality, coherence and playfulness of the end result, something that must be attributed to the experienced duo's wide-ranging set of influences. Work on the LP stretched across several continents. From the beach on Bali, via Miami, Los Angeles, Berlin and a ski chalet in the Austrian Alps, stunning and remote locations were to be the spectacular backdrop for Dapayk & Padberg's creative process. Thus, one encounters soft and harsh sound textures, dark and light images, sonic euphoria and sadness as well as lyrics of love and loss throughout the tour de force that is Sweet Nothings. Things kick off with the trippy "Too Lazy," a brooding afterhours number, which is equal parts paranoid and mesmerizing as a wonky bass vibrates under dubbed-out pads, eerie synths and vocal whispers. Next, "Play" immediately delivers the antidote, reversing the evening's proceedings back to the peak-time. On the title track, Dapayk & Padberg's sound takes another turn, presenting us with a deep but forceful groover, whose distorted high-hats and trancey synth-stabs create a vibe both euphoric and weirdly subdued. The lyrics, moreover, emphasize the duality at the core of the album. "Fluffy Clouds" does quite the opposite to what its title suggests -- rather than being a soft little piece, we are treated to big-room techno fodder à la Berghain. A skeletal framework of heavy kicks, dark pads, white noise and dense metallics works relentlessly underneath a cold spoken word. Machine funk par excellence. "Endless Game" leaves the four-by-four rhythm behind in favor of a broken beat structure. A shuddering bass and affectless vocal reminds of The Knife's wonderfully weird moments. "The Sun Came Up" rounds off the mechanical triplet with a pumping beat and robotic vocals, while a progressive synth lead helps along the track's love lyrics, turning this into a truly stunning moment at the album's heart. With the sharp glockenspiel and old-school hip-hop beat of "Razorskit," Dapayk & Padberg crafted a short interlude to cleanse the palate, before the gear is shifted once more on "Berlin Summer Nights." Anthem alert: classic rave sounds of epic proportions glide through an arrangement of bouncy beats, crisp percussive work and hopeful vocals until a powerful breakdown delivers the hands-in-the-air moment. Continuing seamlessly, the vocals on "Take These Scissors" nod to Karin Dreijer Andersson, which is further underpinned by the playful and airy arrangement of weird sounds. "Backyard" enchants thanks to mystical lyrics sung over a deep quasi-dubstep structure. "Continental Drift" is similarly confident as Padberg's sexy vocals compliment a slow, fat beat and progressive pads. "Driveby Beauty" offers a final surprise by speeding things up once more: ambient soundscapes float over organic beats, while classic vocal house motifs are left to work their magic effortlessly. All that is left once the last notes play out, is an intense longing for more.

The first part of his big-city tale entitled Großstadtmärchen acted like a catapult for Berlin-based techno/house DJ/producer Oliver Koletzki in 2009, pushing him from the DJ booth into the limelight of electronic pop music. Now, three years later, he releases a sequel in the form of Großstadtmärchen 2. In addition, Stil Vor Talent is presenting this jam-packed double vinyl remix package of some of the album's many highlights. Things kick off with the epic "The Devil In Me," a pop anthem featuring the beautiful voice of Berlin wonderboy Jan Blomqvist. The original song features Oliver's distinctive piano and synthesizer melodies, as well as a strong guitar sample, over which Blomqvist sings in his unique style. Niconé & Sascha Braemer take the track to the dancefloor by creating a slowly pulsating tech-house remix that builds upon the groovy guitar sample. Format:B then go out of their comfort zone and use the original vocal from the chorus to design a melodic and organic peak-time house affair that simply keeps on moving and moving. Next up is "You See Red," a pop song of international appeal that introduces the British singer Dear Prudence. Swiss head house honcho Kellerkind constructs a slick, deep house cut of the original that is very much emblematic of the new wave of pure and raw house music of today. Berlin techno kids Channel X then make the original vocals central to their rework, thus constructing a tech-house version that possesses all the groove needed to get bodies heated on the floor. On the second vinyl, "Still" gets its remix treatment. While the original is a high-energy pop affair, featuring the characteristic voice of Fran, Niko Schwind mainly utilizes its melodies while pitching the vocals down for a masculine effect. This works very well for his laid-back house groove. Then, Stil Vor Talent youngster Björn Störig takes Fran's original work and assembles a jacking house cut around it. In contrast, Tobi Kramer aims for the peak-time by producing a fast-paced techno piece. Last up, are three more of Oliver's original songs from the album. "Let Me Go Down" is a piece of smooth disco-funk that features the goosebump-inducing soul voice of MC Ramon, while "Boy Got Soul" shows Oliver's love for early hip-hop of the G-Funk-era. "I Miss My Friends" is an instrumental piece of melancholic electronica about the lonesomeness of the DJ on the road. Luckily for Oliver, and for the rest of us, he managed to get all his friends involved in his latest offering, which is as diverse and eclectic as it gets.
