BOND ORGANIZATION, THE GRAHAM
Title:
The Sound of '65
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$26.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 710LP
"Graham Bond, originally a jazz saxophonist who also played in Alexis Korner's band and the Don Rendell Quintet, was a pioneer in many ways; perhaps the first to use the famous Hammond organ and Leslie speaker combination, and certainly one of the founding fathers of British rhythm and blues. Although highly influential to other R&B and mod bands of the time, The Graham Bond Organization had little commercial success back then. The band, who featured also Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce (both to form Cream with Eric Clapton just one year later), recorded this LP at a time when albums were considered just like an extra for the fan; today highly collectable, it is regarded as a milestone of the early British rhythm and blues scene and a must for any lover of Mod sounds. Now faithfully reissued by Sweet Dandelion records, with remastered sound and limited to 500 copies."

BOND ORGANIZATION, THE GRAHAM
Title:
There's a Bond Between Us
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$26.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 711LP
Originally released in 1965. "Strings and brass, guitars, mandolins, drums and flutes came forth until the room was like the opening night of the Proms. Graham operated the Melltron and Hammond organs, and occasionally played alto sax, whilst 'Ginger' Baker propelled the band with his explosive drumming. Dick Heckstall-Smith provided wailing tenor and baritone sax-noises and Jack Bruce played bass guitar and harmonica. I listened for several hours to sounds ranging from extrovert Rhythm and Blues to cool blues; from ravers to ballads; to a highly individualistic style of music which left me speechless. I left waving a proverbial but large banner for The Graham Bond Organization." --Vicki Wickham, from liner notes. Cover design by Ginger Baker. Reissued by Sweet Dandelion records, with remastered sound and limited to 500 copies.

SOM IMAGINARIO
Title:
Som Imaginario
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 713LP
"Som Imaginário's 1970 debut is one of the most acclaimed albums from that era in Brazil, for those who know it. Even upon its release, it drew the attention of international stars such as Herbie Hancock. As Tropicalist as Os Mutantes, and as psychedelic as Modulo 1000, this will be one of your favorites from the moment you listen to it. The album is full of psychedelic effects and pounding beats, all blended with traditional Brazilian styles like samba and bossanova, and with that special magic that music out of this country has. Finally reissued in vinyl, this is the key to completing your Brazilian psych collection. Limited to 500 copies, with remastered sound and preserving the original artwork."

THEM
Title:
Them
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 714LP
"After the departure of Van Morrison, the legendary Them reformed in the U.S. where they released a couple of albums for Tower as well as a bunch of singles. In 1970, with only bassist Jerry Cole left from the original formation, they recorded this rare album for the money-laundering label Happy Tiger. Allegedly counting on contributions by guitarist Ry Cooder and well-known composer/producer Jack Nitzsche (whose worked with the Rolling Stones, Phil Spector, Neil Young and many others), this album is, in our opinion, the best of Them's American output. With a much rawer sound than their psych-pop Tower efforts, here you'll find snotty garage-punk, waves of fuzz, strong vocals and pounding drum breaks (just listen to the opening track!), with a style ranging from garage punk to trippy psychedelia, a spoonful of Eastern music and a brief hint of country ('Take A Little Time'). Limited to 500 copies, with remastered sound and preserving the original artwork."

BALDRY, LONG JOHN
Title:
Long John's Blues
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 716LP
"Here's Long John Baldry's debut album from 1964. This legendary figure in the British R&B scene of the early '60s, without whom the history of English rock n' roll and especially R&B would have been very different, was one of the most exciting live acts of the time. This, his first album, stands very proudly amongst the most essential British R&B/blues albums of all time, and is certainly a must for any Mod/'60s R&B aficionado. Limited to 500 copies, with remastered sound and preserving the original artwork."

EDEN'S CHILDREN
Title:
Eden's Children
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 717LP
"We are proud to present the first album by Boston's most exciting trio, reissued for the first time with its original gatefold cover. Getting rare now as an original, and unavailable to many, it failed to sell after its release despite a good welcome by critics. After more than 40 years the album stands the weight of time and provides nine robust songs with all the fuzz you can ask for, a constant pounding drum beat and even some Eastern influences. The record is probably worth it alone for the great guitar playing of Richard Schamack 'Sham' and its cool psychedelic cover. Limited to 500 copies, with remastered sound and preserving the original gatefold artwork."

ZOMBIES, THE
Title:
R.I.P. - The Lost Album
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 718LP
"After their world-wide and unexpected hit with
Time of the Season
, the somehow announced death of the Zombies, who had indeed already disbanded, was put off by an attempt at prolonging this success. Using new
Odyssey & Oracle
-era recordings, and rescuing some old Decca outtakes and demos, a new album was prepared for release. Unfortunately the album never saw the light; instead, a couple of singles were released, and the rest of the album was discarded... until some of the material featured here was released in several compilation albums during the '70s and the '80s, much to the astonishment of Zombies fans. This is the first time that the album is released in the way it was conceived. Unlike much of the 'unreleased' material of other bands, the content of the LP matches the published work of the Zombies, in terms of song-writing and production, confirming the talent of one of the most influential bands of the sixties."
Artist:
TROGGS, THE
Title:
From Nowhere
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 719LP
"The Troggs are known by everybody through their single releases, especially 'Wild Thing,' a world-wide hit that has been featured uncountable times in TV and radio spots. For some strange reason, their LPs have escaped the sight of collectors and rock music aficionados. Sweet Dandelion is proud to reissue, for the first time ever, the Troggs' debut album. Hidden inside are a total of 12 songs featuring Reg Presley's unmistakable rough voice and the best garage sound that Britain was to offer. Cited by Iggy Pop as one of his biggest influences, and covered by such big names as Jimi Hendrix or MC5, the Troggs are a band that certainly deserve to be known better. Limited to 500 copies, with remastered sound and preserving the original artwork."

KORNER'S BLUES INCORPORATED, ALEXIS
Title:
R&B From The Marquee
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 720LP
"Sweet Dandelion presents you the milestone album of British R&B. Alexis Korner, interested in the new blues and jazz sounds coming from America, started playing at The Blues Sessions that Chris Barber set up at The Marquee. It was there that Korner formed, together with Ciryl Davies, the Blues Incorporated, who shortly after obtained their own weekly residence that, as the original liner notes to the album read, would gather every Thursday a crowd of more than seven hundred people. The band would offer a number of emerging musicians of the early 1960s the chance to join them on stage. The list of artists who participated is immense, and includes essential artists in British rock history, such as Mick Jagger, Graham Bond, Eric Burdon, Long John Baldry, Brian Jones, Art Wood, Ginger Baker and many, many more. The band, and this seminal debut album, proved to be the starting point for the whole British R&B scene and for most of the early and mid '60s English rock/beat bands, turning this album into an undeniable slice of rock'n'roll history. Strictly limited to 500 copies."

JACKS
Title:
Vacant World
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 721LP
Reissue of this very legendary psychedelic masterwork from Japan, first released in 1968. Rumored to be a big influence on High Rise, one of their tracks ("Marianne") was covered by Fushitsusha on
Tokyo Flashback II
. "Here's what is considered one of the best psychedelic records in the world and certainly one of the must-have Japanese rock albums. The Jacks managed to record a very unique album, very dark and introspective, an album full of tension and contained wrath that maintains its power by refusing to fully explode. You'll find fuzz guitars, tremolo, lots of reverb and the occasional use of flute and vibraphone. The lyrics, for those who can understand them, are an extra asset of this record, and were the reason why
Vacant World
got banned from Japanese radio. This is the first time that
Vacant World
is reissued in identical form to the original issue, on red vinyl and with the lyrics insert sheet."

SERPENT POWER, THE
Title:
The Serpent Power
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 722LP
"Led by poet, novelist and songwriter David Meltzer, the Serpent Power released this classic psychedelic folk-rock album in 1967. A true representation of the San Francisco area sound in the psychedelic era, the album features great male/female vocal harmonies, interesting but unusual lyrics and excellent guitar work. It's also one of the first psych rock albums to have successfully introduced the influence of Middle Eastern music, as shown in the 13-minute classic 'Endless Tunnel,' some sort of raga-rock. Strictly limited to 500 copies. Remastered sound and original artwork."

LONDON & THE SPARROWS, JACK
Title:
Jack London & The Sparrows
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 723LP
"This embryonic formation of Steppenwolf is often credited as being the first British invasion band not only in Canada, but in the whole of North-America. Formed in Ontario in early 1964 by London-born Dave Marden (Jack London) the band quickly grew a good reputation and a solid local following. After moving to Toronto from their native Oshawa, the band released their only album: the first beat album in Canada to feature only original songs, and no covers. The album has several stand-out tracks, with a (as expected) marked Beatles/Zombies sound, and is often seen in 'favorite' lists by well-known rock'n'roll writers. Now rescued from obscurity after decades being unavailable on vinyl, this historic album finally receives its deserved reissue. Limited to 500 copies, with remastered sound and preserving the original artwork."

EDEN'S CHILDREN
Title:
Sure Looks Real
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 724LP
"Follow up to their seminal 1968 debut, this brings you another example of what the Eden's Children are known for, and why they are openly (even back then) acclaimed as the best Boston band. Led by Richard 'Sham' Schamach's fine guitar playing and backed by the tight rhythm section of bassist Larry Kiley and drummer Jimmy Sturman, the children unload in this album another twelve songs of fuzzy psychedelic sounds. Some people argue this to be even better than their first, but we'll let the listener judge." Original gatefold cover artwork, remastered sound and limited to 500 copies.
Artist:
AGGREGATION, THE
Title:
Mind Odyssey
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 725LP
"Finally we are proud to offer a reissue of this cult US psych album which is faithful to the original release. Known and desired by collectors for decades, it is today considered as one of the key albums to understand the genre. This concept album makes use of a visit to a theme park as a metaphor for a Psychedelic Journey. Interestingly, The Aggregation where one of the few rock bands playing in Disneyland (!!!) at the time. The music is psychedelic, dreamy, sophisticated and controlled, there's flute and saxophone as well as the use of psychedelic effects, and the double-sided lyrics cleverly draw the line between their clear psychedelic intentions and the young audience of Disneyland." Reissued for the first time with its original gatefold cover and remastered sound.
Artist:
GALLIARD
Title:
New Dawn
Label:
SWEET DANDELION (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$29.00
Catalog #:
SWDDL 726LP
"Formed in the English Midlands as a six-piece band in 1969, Galliard released their second LP
New Dawn
in 1970. The album has a strong progressive flavor, with an interesting brass section and great, strong melodies. It also features the great sitar breakout 'Ask for Nothing,' certainly one of the highlights here, a trippy nine minute long sitar raga. Although their first album
Strange Pleasure
is widely known,
New Dawn
has remained somewhat unknown to collectors and is reissued on vinyl here for the first time." Original artwork and remastered sound. Limited to 500 copies.
