Title: Conspiracy Uncovered
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: TS 001CD
The Tuning Spork label presents their first-ever CD compilation, featuring tracks from the past up to their current hits. This 10-track CD will take you on a nice little journey through the many different shades Tuning Spork has to offer -- hopefully introducing their impressionistic view of what is to come. It's been 7 long years! Seven years of constantly pushing boundaries, seven years of believing that there is a place for funk and humor within the ever-conceptualized minimal house/techno scene. This CD is dedicated to the most dedicated Tuning Spork artists: Dan Curtin (a man who needs no introduction, a man who has been working this genre for 15 years), Samim (one of the most prolific newcomers -- his brand of funk with the Samim and Michal project, his collaborative sleaze project with Jay Haze, Bearback, or his solo work with vocalist Lil Dirrty Ghetto Bastard prove he is a force not to be funked with -- but to be funked to), Michal Ho (a true-tested producer with his own distinguished sound, a man who is comfortable working many different genres and fusing influence from everywhere. The result is always something extremely enjoyable, with a touch of jack), Shyza Minelli (the first and only woman in the Tuningspork team, brings her view of how electro, old school and funk mix with sounds of the future -- by far the prettiest member of the family), B. aka Bjoern Hartmann (Bjoern, along with Jay Haze co-founded Tuningspork and Textone.org. His brand of quirk has seen its shares of headbobbing from Europe to Japan), Guido Schneider (probably the most exciting minimal producer of the year, bringing his organic funk-infected grooves to the masses in a big way) and Falko Brocksieper (one of the biggest surprises of the year -- a true master in dancefloor madness, whether it be for his own imprint Sub-Static or his many commissioned remixes). The conspiracy has finally been uncovered -- now that you know the secret, Tuning Spork asks you to love them back.

Artist: HAZE, JAY
Title: Mindin Business Part 1: The Minimal Grind
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 2CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: TS 002CD
Philly-based techno-minimalist and producer Jay Haze (aka The Architect, The Dub Surgeon) holds reign over the Tuning Spork, Contexterrior, Junion, Tuning Spork Family Affair, Future Dub, and Textone labels as well as Contexterrior Bookings. In minimal business since 1999, when minimal meant something completely different and relegated to record store back shelves, Jay has presided over an amazing period of growth in minimal electronic music as well as that of his own career as a producer, DJ, and business owner, all while simply doing what came naturally to him. This 2CD mix compilation is made up of 47 tracks spanning the outer limits of electronic funk while keeping it in the family. Compatriots from all walks are featured here such as Tuning Spork label mates Dan Curtin, Samim & Michal, Signor Andreoni, as well as Future Dub's Lump, Junion's Argenis Brito and Jambi, Contexterrior's Akiko Kiyama, as well as Jay of course in all his guises: The Architect, Fuckpony and Bearback. Filling things out are friends and cross pollinating label artists Falko Brocksieper, Guido Schneider, and Heartthrob. The various aliases the family operates under can confuse even the most seasoned Interpol agent, but the sound epitomizes unmistakably Jay Haze's DJ sets heard all over the globe. With Jay's 2 1/2 hour monument paying homage to the bass drum (among other things), The Minimal Grind gives the careful listener an insider's glimpse at the minimal business from deep inside its sparse urban Berlin heart. From the dark smoky stench of a Sunday after party that's been incubating for 20 hours, to the big industrial clubs and everything in between, the music that fuels the nonstop Berlin reveler is presented here: from the big thump jack to the spaced out digital freak funk. Welcome to "Da Family." 2CDs for the price of one.

Artist: CURTIN, DAN
Title: Mindin Business Part 2: Interstellar Groove Addictions
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 2CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: TS 003CD
Tuning Spork presents a second vital installment of their Mindin Business compilation series, this time curated by Metamorphic Recordings label-head, Dan Curtin. After leaving Cleveland, Ohio, Curtin became a techno/house classic in Berlin. With his profile on the rise, he eventually caught the attention of Peacefrog. His releases under his own name and his Purveyors Of Fine Funk guises were welcomed with open arms by the world's techno fraternity, and many of his tracks have since become key cuts in many a DJ's set. He has since released on labels such as Klang Elektronik, Headspace Recordings, Pnuma, District of Corruption, and many more, defining himself as one of the key players in the development of techno as we know it today. Mindin Business Part 2 is the forceful sound of fun house music. Featuring Lee Van Dowski with a solo mix of his meaty track co-penned with Quenum, an unreleased mix from DJ 3000, a Guido Schneider remix of Tom Clark, a new one from Fuckpony and a taste of up-and-comer Shyza Minelli with a track off the A Night Out with the Boys 12", this mix blends a sampling of exclusive tracks plus tracks you may not have dug out of the new releases crate yet. Play this in your car with the windows down, while driving by your office angrily on weekends. Play it at your apartment until the people below bang on the ceiling, then invite them in for an impromptu rave. This mix is the nightclub distilled into a round compact disc, ready to be unleashed whenever and wherever you want. Other artists include: New World Aquarium, Jerome Baker, Pan Pot, Djinxx, Matteo Speditati, Renato Figoli, Hakim Murphy, Albizmo, Michael Ho, Marco Shuttle, Davide Squillace, Funk D'Void, Jambi, Brifo, Marc Schneider, Redshape, Italoboys, Rico, Dub Kult, Sellway, Jay Haze, Inxec, Dave Turov, Onur Özer and Drivetrain.

Artist: HAZE, JAY
Title: Love & Beyond
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: TS 005CD
This is Berlin-based Jay Haze's first full length album since 2005's, Love For A Strange World. It's hard to summarize Jay Haze's ever-diversifying ventures. He has had three club hits under his Fuckpony alias and singles released by Get Physical, BPitch Control, and Cocoon. As Sub Version, he and Michal Ho teamed up with Paul St. Hilaire for Soul Jazz's Box of Dub compilation, followed by a full length. He maintained the labels Contexterrior, Junion, and Futuredub, and he held a DJ residency at Fabric in London. This, of course, was in 2007 alone -- not including other numerous accomplishments since founding Tuning Spork in Philadelphia in 1999. Love & Beyond finds Jay exploring organic, funky sounds as much as hypnotic sci-fi territory. With this collection of all-new material, Jay has cemented his reputation as a studio master, equally skilled behind the decks as in the clubs. Featuring guest artists including D:exter, Lil Dirrty Ghetto Bastard and Ricardo Villalobos.

Artist: HO, MICHAL
Title: Frisky
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: TS 018EP
"After Samim's solo release it is only proper that Michal's first solo release on Tuning Spork will follow. The tall member of the dynamic duo that brought you such hits as 'She's Got the F' and 'Ripop' is wasting no time and bringing out the big guns. Four dance floor destroyers are compactly packed here ready to tear any club to pieces and make many ladies shake that booty. Even though Michal does not own a driver's license or possess any piloting skills he has a very advanced degree in creating ass shaking minimal booty house. Michal kicks the party into action with 'Kiss the Wasp.' A sex drippin' lick with a hypnotic vibe. Expect some more tricks and licks from this Zurich son as well as other wonderful releases from our sister labels Contexterrior and the ever mysterious Tuning Spork Family Affair."

Artist: CURTIN, DAN
Title: Tricks Pt. 1
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: TS 019EP
"Here we go with another wicked EP from the man behind Metamorphic records, and countless deep house and techno anthems through his 15 year career on wax. Dan Curtin is one of the most respected, most sought after producers of this generation, and this EP is another testament to why! For his second EP on Tuningspork, Dan decided to get the floors wet with some deep housey vibrations -- of course keeping true to Tuningspork style -- funky, sexy and crazy, all at the same time. For sure a big dance EP. With support from the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Daniel Bell, Zip, Tiga and many others."

Artist: BROCKSIEPER, FALKO
Title: Hardwired EP
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: TS 020EP
"After over a 2 year break, a move from Köln to lovely Berlin -- the newly relocated head of Sub Static and Karloff decided to drop the funkiest and biggest record of his career. We could not be happier about it! A perfect fit the label's ideals -- funked up, chunky beats, with enough bass to bend your face. Falko Brocksieper has had such a huge influence in the whole development of todays sound, this record shows that there is a clear reason as to why. Falko obscures himself in a world of analog madness, phat sounds that he meticulously sculpts, then passes them through the good ol' reverb to orgasmic effects."

Artist: HO, MICHAL
Title: Econoclasm EP
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: TS 021EP
"Michal Ho returns with a slick and bumping bomb for the Tuningspork masses! After his debut as a solo artist on the Frisky EP, Michal decided to keep to that same infectious, stripped-down vibe that immediately won over the hearts of such DJ/producers like Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin and Steve Bug. With this EP Michal drops things down a notch, and magically becomes an undercover-lover, with this new role in mind he decides to squirm it up with bleeps, beeps, squiggles and lots of jiggles. The end result is a minimal, bleepy, bumping house record sure to be rotating on many Technics 12"s."

Artist: HAZE, JAY
Title: Berlin Pimping Part 2
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: TS 022EP
Jay Haze continues to push the boundaries of electronic dance music. With this special release, Jay's first release on the label he started 7 years ago -- Jay translates what it is like to be "big pimping" in Berlin. Jay moved to the electronic music mecca just 3 years ago and has steadily advanced through one of the most competitive market places with lightning speed. So in some sense this record is another fond dedication to the city which provides so much for Jay. (The first was his Musik Krause release Berlin Pimpin/Love Affair EP).

Artist: MINELLI, SHYZA
Title: A Night Out With The Boys
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: TS 024EP
Shyza Minelli is the first lady of Contexterior, and she sends many artists all over the world so that your local club does not suck anymore. But Shyza's charitable techno work doesn't end there, she also makes her own jams. Shyza returns to Tuning Spork after way too long with two dancefloor bombs that are primed and ready to explode on impact at clubs worldwide. You'll be used to 4 tracks on Tuning Spork 12s, but sometimes they find a groove so sweet that they have to give it longer to implant itself in your brain, and this is one of those times. Two different flavors, one on each side.

Artist: HO, MICHAL
Title: Screw The Coffeemaker
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 2LP
Price: $16.50
Catalog #: TS 026LP
This is the debut full-length release by Zurich's Michal Ho (vinyl-only for now), bringing you eight firecrackers which will ignite every club, worldwide. Michal Jan Tomas Holy is one of the hottest young producers in the European house music scene. As the "Michal" in Samim & Michal, he is responsible for a ton of bigtime releases and remixes for Kindisch, Get Physical, Textone, and a string of hot solo 12"s. Last year, his Econoclast EP was one of 2007's most playable 12"s, with four amazing and diverse tracks, all bringing something new to the minimal house scene. For 2007, Michal turned his attention to the Junion label, releasing the Cassecade EP. Already played by Mobilee's Anja Schneider and Ralf Kollmann, this 12" showed that Michal is a producer who you cannot underestimate. With a different bag of tricks for each track, this EP had more styles on one piece of wax than most producers manage to do with five or six. This year Michal's album matches the high standard he has set for himself, and raises the bar even higher. These are all killer tracks, braced with pumping, hard-backed and shiny minimal. Make no mistake, this is an album with a unique take on just about everything exciting in electronic music right now.

Artist: HAZE, JAY
Title: Love & Beyond
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 2LP
Price: $18.00
Catalog #: TS 033LP
Double LP version.

Artist: HUGO
Title: The Sloop & The Siren
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: TS 034EP
Based in Turin, Italy, Hugo has been releasing his productions since 2005, blending together the artificial and the organic, using tension and pacing for a powerful effect on the dancefloor. "The Sloop" is deeper and mellower. Inspired by the Sirens of Greek mythology, this track will attract everyone to the dancefloor with hypnotic buzzing, whispering voices, swooshes of acid, and even a taste of tribal with the bongos in the mix.

Artist: MINIMONO
Title: Ratman/Hugo
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TS 037EP
Italian duo Minimono make their Tuning Spork vinyl debut with a sunny house groove. The original "Ratman" is bouncy and cheerful, but a bit off-kilter. The lead melody is sung by an actual rodent-human hybrid, and the ambient noise of a crowded room is integrated with house-y vibes. Next up is a more stripped-down version from Zander VT. Hugo's remix is full of his trademark cartoon violence. Finally, Jay Haze offers an understated interpretation with elements of string and flute.

Artist: HO, MICHAL
Title: Groove To Me
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TS 038EP
Michal Ho returns to Tuning Spork for his first release of all new material since last fall's highly acclaimed Screw the Coffeemaker album. Michal is sticking to what he likes best: stripped-down, funk-infused club tracks. "Groove to Me" features Jamaican-born JonJon's soulful vocals chopped up and subverted into oblivion. "Bootyjazz" is underscored by a slinky descending bassline and interjections of sax synth, while "Jack It Out" has a more percussive swagger.

Artist: DIY
Title: House Tools Vol. 1
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TS 039EP
Berlin-based Belgian producers Sierra_Sam & Marcus Vector present D.I.Y. (Dumb Irresponsible Youth), their new house-oriented project. For this release, they've put aside their usual dark techno inclinations, opting instead for uninhibited house led by analog percussion sounds. "Pimp My Saw" is frenzied layers of toms, kicks, steel-drums and clicks. "Screw It Up" possesses classic build-up and tension, plus a hint of Latin finesse. "Hammer Of Love" is a shuffly balance between the organic and the artificial, with looming atmospheric ambience.

Artist: HAZE (FEAT. D:EXTER), JAY
Title: I Can't Forget
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TS 041EP
Jay Haze teams up with D:exter on I Can't Forget -- an homage to Mr. Lee's Chicago house classic -- with remixes from DJ Sneak, Abe Duque and Fuckpony. Jay Haze has always been inspired by Chicago house and his update of the 1987 Trax Records hit has become a favorite among DJs, distinguished by D:exter's soulful vocals. With these 4 new versions, several mutant strains of house music are present, from tech- to piano-led, to deranged acid.

Artist: CELLER, ALEX
Title: Trapped In Dub
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TS 043EP
On Trapped In Dub, Alex Celler combines his usual tribal rhythms and techy beats, but not without some unusual elements added into the mix. The title track has a bit of Tuning Spork humor, with children chanting and clapping, punctuated by soul-brotha guitar hits. "Indalgo" is more restrained, with snappy beats countered by gentle chimes, and a pastiche of samples. "Luciola" features tumbling, punchy drums and a soaring synth melody that rounds out the EP with a buoyant tone.

Artist: WASTED CHICAGO YOUTH
Title: Chase The Devil
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TS 044EP
Keeping Chicago's house heritage alive since the mid-'90s, Justin Long and Mazi Namvar DJ and co-produce as Wasted Chicago Youth. Justin runs Dotbleep (20:20 Vision's house imprint), while Mazi co-runs Fresh Meat (part of the Brique Rouge family). Chase The Devil features "Mars Or Bust," an onslaught of booms and snaps that juxtaposes dirty beats with precise edits, the fuzzy bounce of "Atomic Supermen," and the robust melodic interplay of "Love Thy Enemy." Made from 100% free-range, organic, not-from-concentrate funk.

Artist: SCHNEIDER, GUIDO
Title: Under Control
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TS 047EP
Guido Schneider returns to Tuning Spork with more concoctions of haunted house music, adding layers of spooky atmosphere over thumping beats to cast a spell on the dancefloor. "Under Control" is a fresh slice of demented funk -- a combo of skittering percussion, moaning ghosts and atonal chimes. "Lay Lie Lay" features a heated match of ping-pong between poltergeist sea monkeys, recorded live from the abyss inside Keanu Reeves' skull during the filming of The Day The Earth Stood Still.

Artist: ANTHEA & CELLER
Title: Down With G.O.D.
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TS 051EP
Anthea & Celler present their third effort as a duo. "Down With G.O.D." is a chunky and forceful workout, fuelled by Jesus Juice, with a distorted bass bounce and vaporous dub overtones that will make the dancefloor speak in tongues. Then comes the remix from Jay Haze, where the deepness gets bumped up a notch with his trademark onslaught of snare drums. DJ Sneak concocts a bold blend with two parts percolating Chicago attitude and one part French filter house.

Artist: BUNKERS
Title: Holding Back EP
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TS 053EP
Andreoni and Alessio Mereu team up yet again for another solid effort as Bunkers. One of their 3 EPs has already found itself at the top of Richie Hawtin's charts. From the swelling tension of "Holding Back," to the staccato onomatopoeia in "Please Say Whoo," to the swing-y and syncopated soul of "Back To Reality," it's clear that Bunkers have mastered the house tradition of tension, build-up and release. The melancholy "Coming And Going" is exclusive to this EP.

Artist: SIS
Title: Bimi
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $14.00
Catalog #: TS 062EP
SIS is an in-demand artist who shouts quietly at the world, "I'm here to stay!" With this 2-tracker, Tuning Spork proudly presents two deep and lusciously warm tracks that will find their way into your set, whether in a house or techno setting.

Artist: VA
Title: Collabs With Jay Haze
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $14.00
Catalog #: TS 063EP
This EP features 4 different studio sessions where Jay Haze shared an idea and a mixer board with fellow top-notch artists: Reboot, Brett Johnson, DJ Sneak and Ricardo Villalobos are all in combo here with analog equipment and the amazing vibration of the Ultradope Syndrome. Ultradope Syndrome was a legendary studio in Mitte, Berlin that has since been demolished in favor of yet another Berlin hotel, and with the demolition were found 4 bombs just dying to find their way to wax.

Artist: ANDREONI, SIGNOR
Title: Three In Series of Five
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: TSB 003EP
For this, the third Tuning Spork Blues Experiment, Signor Andreoni comes with four psychedelic house jams which mix a deep musical knowledge and background with an appetite for club freakouts. However, when you hear these tracks, you will also think that Signor Andreoni has been studying the darker art of house music. Inspired by legends like Miles Davis and modern day techno producers like Dandy Jack, Andreoni is forging wacked-out new house sounds, in the true spirit of jazz. This EP is no exception, and it shows why the likes of Ricardo Villalobos believe that Signor Andreoni is an amazing musician.

Artist: TIERSEN/HAZE
Title: Comptine D'un Autre Été (Amelie Theme)
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: TSULTRA 001EP
Tuning Spork Records ventures away from its trademark funky house in exchange for something a little more unexpected. Comptine D'un Autre Été is Yann Tiersen's piano composition for the Amélie soundtrack, reconstructed for the dancefloor by Jay Haze. Tiersen's composition is tastefully manipulated into a track that makes sense in a club context, yet sets itself apart from the usual techno/house fare, providing a rare introspective moment on the dancefloor. One-sided white label release.

Artist: SOCIAL BEING
Title: Free Your Mind
Label: TUNING SPORK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: TSXTRA 001EP
Social Beings are label boss Jay Haze (Fuckpony/Bearback/Krak Street Boyz) and Ricardo Villalobos. Free Your Mind is an epic piece of sunburnt house music that is sure to blow many minds in the clubs, on the terraces, and on the beaches this summer. With this cut of tropical, euphoric, Ibizan house music, the best of the '90s are recreated. This is epic, magical, deep, Balearic house.
