Artist: JOY DIVISION
Title: Love Will Tear Us Apart
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: CD
Price: $22.00
Catalog #: LR 321CD
"CD version is the mini replica of the vinyl version, in slim plastic case with clear insert. Love Will Tear Us Apart should have been the band's most shining moment, instead it became their tragic swan song. Released just a month after frontman Ian Curtis' heart wrenching suicide, the song came to be seen as the unheeded warning of the impending tragedy. This special edition features all three versions of the song that transformed Joy Division from mere band into legend. In addition to the original single version, we have two versions remixed by American producers Don Gehman of John Mellencamp fame (the 'radio version') and Arthur Baker (who also produced a hit single for Africa Bambaataa around this same time). The remaining tracks include 'These Days' (which appeared on the original 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' single), along with 'Transmission' (their debut single released in 1979) and 'Atmosphere' (originally released as a France-only single) in 1980."

Artist: MAYALL & THE BLUESBREAKERS, JOHN
Title: John Mayall Plays John Mayall (Live at Klooks Kleek)
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900013LP
Vinyl Lovers is a new Russian reissue label, a sub-label of Lillith it appears. All titles licensed from "Universal Music, Russia". Some people kinda "wonder about this", but then again, some people like to urinate off the sides of bridges... All LPs are 180 gram pressings and seem pretty well done & some claim to be "remastered"; somewhat crazy-ass Euro pricing, however -- these people should revert back to rubles and kopeks. "John Mayall is perhaps more famous for those who passed through his band than for his actual music. One of the godfathers of British blues rock, John Mayall's debut album, recorded in 1964, just prior to Eric Clapton joining the band, with Roger Dean on guitar, was recorded live and, uncommonly for the time, featured almost all original material." Includes 3 bonus tracks of rare studio versions.

Artist: MAYALL & THE BLUESBREAKERS, JOHN
Title: Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900020LP
"This seminal British blues album gave Clapton the chance to finally show his chops, not surprisingly, launching Clapton into stardom. Recorded in 1966 during Clapton's short stint with the Bluesbreakers, just after leaving The Yardbirds (the birthplace of other legendary guitar players like Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck) and before he joined Cream. Includes 4 live Spring 1966 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: VELOSO E GAL COSTA, CAETANO
Title: Domingo
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900037LP
"Released in 1967 just one year prior to the revolutionary album that launched the Tropicalia movement. Here Veloso, however, is still firmly rooted in the bossa nova style, although he is already beginning to shine with his own compositions. This was also the first album for renowned Brazilian singer Gal Costa, whose beautiful vocal style first gained attention on the festival circuit." Remastered reissue of the original 1967 album, including an insert with lyrics. 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: VELVET UNDERGROUND, THE
Title: White Light/White Heat
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $23.00
Catalog #: VL 900044LP
"While 1967's Velvet Underground & Nico was a part of Andy Warhol's global artistic vision, 1968's White Light / White Heat was free of all Warholian influence, so in a way it could be thought of as another debut album. Here the music was left to fester on its own, with no artistic visionary interfering or trying to create a soundtrack for his pop art, and the Velvets filled that void with an album that is an aural subway car full of drunkards, junkies and whores rumbling through the bowels of NYC with a one way ticket to oblivion."

Artist: VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO, THE
Title: The Velvet Underground & Nico
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $23.00
Catalog #: VL 900051LP
"The Velvets' legendary debut album with the original Warhol peeling banana cover art! Although Warhol, who was listed as producer on the album, allegedly gave the Velvets free reign over their sound, it was on his insistence that Nico performed on this album. However, this does not detract from the fact that when this album was made the Red Sea parted, and the Velvet Underground crossed into the Promised Land." Gatefold sleeve, featuring bonus track "Chelsea Girls."

Artist: CREAM
Title: Goodbye
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900068LP
"Cream's fourth and final album, released in 1969, after the band had already broken up and featuring an all-live side A, recorded in Los Angeles at The Forum, and a studio side B with one song written by each member of the group. 'Badge,' was a song written by Eric Clapton & George Harrison (with Harrison also playing rhythm guitar) and is a true classic." Includes 5 bonus tracks of unreleased live, unreleased studio and rare studio versions. 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: STEWART, ROD
Title: Gasoline Alley
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900075LP
"One of the best-selling British recording artists of all time (six consecutive number 1 albums and 24 top ten singles!), Rod Stewart, along with playing in the Jeff Beck Group and Faces, was also releasing solo work as well. Released in 1970, this is Rod Stewart's second solo effort, a rocking acoustic folk album of considerable inspiration and conviction in a style that Stewart developed and honed and which dipped into Stewart's working class Scottish origins. Featuring a mix of original work and well-selected and executed covers, Stewart's unique and true voice, shines on this classic record." Remastered reissue; 180 gram virgin vinyl; embossed gatefold sleeve.

Artist: VELOSO, CAETANO
Title: Transa
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900082LP
"Recorded by Veloso in 1972 immediately after his return from political exile in the UK, the album was the first to feature a mix of songs sung in English and Portuguese and is somewhat of a musical departure from his earlier albums, this album being slightly more rock-oriented (apparently being in London had left a musical impression on him). Although Veloso is careful to avoid the kind of overt political statements that set him at odds with Brazil's military regime and got him sent into exile in the first place, Veloso had far from dropped his political convictions and his politics are hidden in plain enough sight for anyone who cares to scratch the surface." Remastered reissue of the original 1972 album; 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: DENNY, SANDY
Title: Sandy
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900099LP
"Perhaps the greatest British folk singer of all time, she first came to prominence in the quintessential British folk band, the Fairport Convention. Her singing and songwriting took the band to unimaginable heights and proved her to be a true talent of the last century. After leaving Fairport in 1970, she continued to produce solo work. Sandy, released in 1972, is her second post-Fairport release and her pre-eminent solo effort. Featuring two bonus tracks from the soundtrack of the movie Pass Of Arms." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: CALE, JOHN
Title: Fear
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900105LP
"After more than a decade spent in the USA, first as a member of LaMonte Young's entourage, then as a founding member of The Velvet Underground, Cale finally returned home to the UK to continue producing acts as diverse as Patti Smith, The Squeeze, Sham 69, among others. He also continued to write and play music as a solo artist and 1974's Fear, with guest appearances by fellow Island musicians, Brian Eno, Phil Manzanera and Andy MacKay (Roxy Music) is his first effort back on home turf. This album is not mainstream by any means, but a relatively accessible brand of Cale-crafted rock which ranges from even and radiant to completely unhinged. Includes 2 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: NEW YORK DOLLS
Title: Too Much Too Soon
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900112LP
"Judging from the title of their second album recorded in 1974, the NY Dolls understood their place in history perfectly. Punk rock had yet to break, and five cross-dressing, trash-talking rockers from the bowels of the Bowery had no place in the corporate music world, and yet the two albums by the NY Dolls are two of the most influential slabs of vinyl ever cut. Produced by George 'Shadow' Morton (who, during the '60s, produced the legendary street tough & potty-mouthed NY girl group the Shangri-La's)." Remastered reissue of the original 1974 album. 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: NICO
Title: The End
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900129LP
"Originally released in 1974 and produced by John Cale, The End found Nico caught in a dark no-man's land inhabited by ghosts of her past, the late Jim Morrison on 'You Forgot to Answer' and her cover of the Doors 'The End,' her teenage rapist on 'Secret Side' and her homeland on the controversial rendering of the German national anthem 'Das Lied Der Deutschen.' Cale, Eno and Phil Manzanera all play on the album and the result is a kind of pre-goth dance of the dead." Remastered reissue of the original 1974 album. 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, THE
Title: Eat A Peach
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $40.00
Catalog #: VL 900136LP
"During the recording of this album, band leader Duane Allman was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident. Still reeling from their loss, the band nonetheless managed to complete this classic album with Dickey Betts on guitar. In tribute to Duane, however, they chose to bring the album to a close with a 34-minute jam taken from the Fillmore East sessions, which showcased what an amazing guitar player and force to be reckoned with Duane really was. Includes 3 bonus tracks and a replica of the original insert." The 4th Allman Brothers album, originally released in 1972. 180 gram virgin vinyl, deluxe gatefold sleeve.

Artist: COPE, JULIAN
Title: Fried
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900150LP
"By the time Fried, Cope's second solo effort, was released in 1984 (the Teardrop Explodes had disbanded the previous year), Cope had a considerable reputation as being a drug fiend and borderline lunatic; however, the album's title as well as its cover art (picturing Cope wearing nothing but a turtle shell) suggest that Cope was well aware of this, and may have even tried to promote this image. The music is by no means muddled or uncontrolled and Cope knowingly launches himself into an ethereal world -- at times wistful, at times angst-ridden -- of inspired psych-influenced space pop. Includes 3 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: CREAM
Title: Fresh Cream
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900167LP
"When the band formed in 1966, Eric Clapton was already fairly well known by this time, having already performed and recorded with the Yardbirds and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. But it wasn't until Cream that Clapton became a global superstar. Breaking free of the traditional rock & roll song for a more improvisational/jazz-influenced take, the band's long jams gave birth to a whole new approach to rock music. When their debut album Fresh Cream was released in 1966, it immediately became the standard by which all other bands of the era were judged. Includes 5 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: MAYALL & THE BLUESBREAKERS, JOHN
Title: A Hard Road
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $40.00
Catalog #: VL 900174LP
"More than a compilation, this album is a complete document of the Bluesbreakers' recordings with Peter Green, of which A Hard Road was just the most prominent part. Sixteen bonus tracks, including several non-LP singles (among them the 1967 B-side 'Rubber Duck,' which has never before appeared on LP)." Gatefold cover, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: TRAFFIC
Title: Mr. Fantasy
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900181LP
"Riding fairly high on the success of their singles, the band, whose members included Jim Capaldi, Steve Winwood, Chris Wood and Dave Mason, released its 1967 debut LP, which also soon shot up to the number 16 slot on the UK album charts. Aided by their use of unusual instruments (Winwood played the organ, Wood played flute and Mason the sitar) they created a hybrid of pop/blues rock with a sound that was somewhat unique for the time and which soon made them international superstars. This deluxe reissue includes 5 bonus tracks & a poster!" Gatefold sleeve, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: CREAM
Title: Wheels of Fire
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $40.00
Catalog #: VL 900198LP
"Like the band's previous two releases, Cream's third album, Wheels of Fire (1968), also topped the charts. Although it was criticized at the time for being a somewhat disjointed album, divided into one LP of new studio material and one LP of live material, it redeems itself because 'White Room,' has gone down in the annals of history as one of the Great Moments in Rock & Roll. Features 4 bonus tracks (including the super rare 'Desert Ride')." Gatefold sleeve, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: TYRANNOSAURUS REX
Title: My People Were Fair And Had Sky In Their Hair...
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: VL 900204LP
...But Now They're Content To Wear Stars On Their Brows. Restocked, lower pricing. "Before Marc Bolan became the glam rock superstar behind T-Rex, he was just a hippy boy with a guitar, writing fantastical Tolkien-inspired folk songs populated by fairies and ogres. But thanks to producer Tony Visconti, this boy & his trusty drum-playing friend Steve Peregrine Took soon had a record contract and this, their debut album, actually made it to the top of the British charts in 1967 when it was released. Stereo version with 1 bonus track and lyrics insert." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: OS MUTANTES
Title: Mutantes
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900211LP
"Fusing traditional Brazilian music, psychedelia, rock and a good dose of pure experimentalism, with the release of their 1968 debut, Os Mutantes quickly became giants in the outer fringes of pop music, soon reaching mythic proportions. With their second album, Mutantes, released in 1969, the band continued in this same vein of boundary crushing, featuring tracks like the futuristic 'Dois Mil e Um.'" 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: CURE, THE
Title: Faith
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $40.00
Catalog #: VL 900228LP
"Recorded in 1981, this classic album took the band further down the road of despair, initiated with Seventeen Seconds, with an album full of mournful atmospheric tracks, including their hit single, 'Primary.' Includes 6 bonus tracks from the CD deluxe version." Gatefold sleeve, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: CURE, THE
Title: Pornography
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VL 900235LP
"1982's Pornography, still considered by many to be their best, was the band's darkest album to date, cementing their role as beacons of the emergent gothic rock genre, with the band sporting their signature red lipstick and big hair look for the first time during this tour. Eight bonus tracks from the deluxe CD version." Gatefold sleeve, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: STEWART, ROD
Title: The Rod Stewart Album
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900242LP
"Rod Stewart's 1969 debut album was critically-acclaimed in both the UK and the U.S., and Rod was hailed as an inspired singer and songwriter on the cutting edge of a new kind of folk rock. Features Keith Emerson on organ!" Gatefold sleeve, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, THE
Title: At Fillmore East
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $40.00
Catalog #: VL 900259LP
"Considered by many to be one of the best live albums of all time, this classic album by the Allman Brothers, recorded at the pinnacle of their success, was a huge hit for the band. In 1971, the Allman Brothers were already one of the most popular groups in America, but by the time this album hit the streets, their brand of Southern rock had become a national obsession. One of Rolling Stone's '500 Greatest Albums Of All Time,' it was the band's last with guitar hero Duane Allman who was killed in a motorcycle accident later that year. Contains 2 bonus tracks." Gatefold sleeve, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: CALE, JOHN
Title: Slow Dazzle
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900266LP
"After more than a decade spent in the USA, most prominently as a member of The Velvet Underground, and producer of some of the most important proto-punk albums of all time (the Stooges, Nico, the Modern Lovers), Cale finally returned home to the UK to continue producing, this time with Island where he began producing Patti Smith, Squeeze, and Sham 69, among others. He also continued to write and play music as a solo artist and 1975's Slow Dazzle is his second release on his native soil, with guest appearances by fellow Island musicians Brian Eno, Phil Manzanera, Chris Spedding, and Andy MacKay. With maybe just a drop of dark nostalgia for the good ol' USA, the album features a tribute to both the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson ('Mr. Wilson') & Elvis (with his totally ill version of 'Heartbreak Hotel'). Contains 2 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: CALE, JOHN
Title: Helen Of Troy
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900273LP
"Helen of Troy, featuring Brian Eno, Chris Spedding and Phil Collins, and released in 1975, was Cale's third and final release for Island. It is a dark and eclectic look into the soul of music on the dawning of the punk rock era. Featuring a cover of Jonathan Richman's brilliant 'Pablo Picasso' (which Cale himself originally produced). Contains 2 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: PARSONS PROJECT, ALAN
Title: Tales of Mystery and Imagination
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900280LP
"Alan Parsons Project's debut album released in 1976, was a concept album, with the songs based on the writings of Edgar Allan Poe by Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson. Parsons had just finished work on Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and had produced for EMI Records. Woolfson, a songwriter and composer, was working as a session pianist. Based on Woolfson's Edgar Allan Poe concept, the two wrote the songs for this album with Parsons producing and engineering. The album was well received, with the song 'The Raven' featuring vocals by actor Leonard Whiting. It was also the first rock song ever to use a vocoder. Contains 2 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: WHO, THE
Title: The Who Sell Out
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $40.00
Catalog #: VL 900297LP
"The Who's legendary third album, released in 1967, was a concept album of songs made into advertisements, with the cover art featuring members of the band pretending to endorse various products. The band actually was doing a few commercials at the time, so this album was intended to poke fun at that. This was the first pop album ever not to list the song titles on its cover. Featuring 10 bonus tracks from the deluxe edition." Gatefold sleeve, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: COPE, JULIAN
Title: World Shut Your Mouth
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900303LP
"By the time World Shut Your Mouth, Cope's solo debut, was released in 1984 (the Teardrop Explodes had only just disbanded). Cope by this time had a considerable reputation as being a drug fiend and borderline lunatic, but he knew how to use these qualities to his advantage, both musically and in terms of PR. Cope knowingly launches himself into an ethereal world -- at times wistful, at times angst-ridden -- of inspired psych-influenced space pop. Contains 3 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: GAYE, MARVIN
Title: Let's Get It On
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $40.00
Catalog #: VL 900310LP
"Despite his huge success with his 1970 political concept album, What's Goin' On?, Gaye left social concerns behind for those of a more intimate nature. Originally released in 1973, this album broke new ground gaining its place in history as one of the most sexual albums ever recorded, laying the basis for every slow jam ever after and making Gaye both socially concerned and sexy, a potent commercial combination. Contains 15 bonus tracks." Gatefold sleeve, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: MAYALL & THE BLUESBREAKERS, JOHN
Title: Bare Wires
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900327LP
"Originally released in 1968, this was Mayall's most successful album to date, hitting #3 in the UK. A more free-form jazz-influenced number than any of his previous works, Mayall was experimenting outside the blues format and this album pushed the band in a new direction. Recorded with a 19-year-old Mick Taylor (later of The Rolling Stones) on guitar. Contains 2 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl, gatefold sleeve.

Artist: WONDER, STEVIE
Title: Innervisions
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900334LP
"After releasing the groundbreaking Talking Book, Wonder went on to release, in 1973, what is considered by many to be his magnum opus. Here Wonder brings social commentary to the fore with classic hits like 'Higher Ground' and 'Living for the City' and his commentary on American urban living has remained some of the most poignant in music history. The album also won three Grammys, including album of the year." Remastered reissue of the original 1973 album, 180 gram virgin vinyl, gatefold sleeve.

Artist: STEWART, ROD
Title: Every Picture Tells A Story
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900341LP
Third Rod Stewart solo album, reissued in the UK sleeve. "The album that made Rod Stewart a star. Released in 1971, the album hit #1 in the U.S. and the UK, and the single 'Maggie May' has gone down in history as one of the great songs of rock & roll, and the rest of the album is equally great. Featuring definitive versions of Bob Dylan's 'Tomorrow Is Such a Long Time' and Tim Hardin's 'Reason to Believe.'" Remastered reissue of the original 1971 album, 180 gram virgin vinyl, gatefold sleeve.

Artist: CURE, THE
Title: Seventeen Seconds
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $40.00
Catalog #: VL 900358LP
"Released in 1980 as the follow-up to their debut album, Three Imaginary Boys, and featuring a new line-up that included Simon Gallup and Mathieu Hartley, this is the album that gave the band their first hit ('A Forest'), and also began to solidify the brooding atmospheric sound that would soon make these grandfathers of goth international pop icons." 180 gram virgin vinyl, gatefold sleeve.

Artist: JAM, THE
Title: This Is The Modern World
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900365LP
"The band's second album, released in 1977 just after their In The City debut. Despite generally bad reviews from critics at the time, the album does have its shining moments ('Life From a Window,' and 'The Modern World,' for example). But it is also interesting as a piece of history for its lyrical content, which, as the album's title promised, is a snapshot of a day in the life of the declining British Empire during the late 1970s. Contains 8 bonus tracks from the BBC sessions." 180 gram virgin vinyl; gatefold sleeve.

Artist: NEW YORK DOLLS
Title: New York Dolls
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900372LP
"The year: 1973. The band: the New York Dolls. Coming on stage looking like a bunch of doped-up drag queens and sounding like a train wreck, they split rock & roll wide open and suddenly there was something new. The deranged son of rock & roll: punk rock. And kids all around the globe went, 'oh yeah!,' and picked up an electric guitar and a feather boa." Remastered reissue of the original 1973 album, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: OS MUTANTES
Title: A Divina Comédia Ou Ando Meio Desligado
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900389LP
"Third album, released in 1970 from these geniuses of wacked-out Brazilian psychedelic rock. They may have been trying to pay homage to their better-known icons back in the States, but in doing so created something that went beyond all that until, 30 years later, they became the ones that everyone was trying to imitate. This album, further testimony to their limitless creativity, and considered by many to be their best, was recorded during the height of the Brazilian military regime's crack down on artists, and fellow members of the Tropicalia movement, Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil had already been sent into exile in the UK." Remastered reissue of the original 1970 album, 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: WONDER, STEVIE
Title: Talking Book
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900396LP
"Released shortly after Wonder completed his 1972 tour with The Rolling Stones, and peaking at #3 in the U.S., it is the second release in what is widely regarded as his classic period, a period in which Wonder broke completely with the Motown sound and philosophy. Despite the strong initial disapproval of label execs, Wonder forged ahead and was rewarded with phenomenal success, forcing Motown to grant him complete artistic freedom over his work and proving to the music industry that R&B artists could find widespread appeal with rock audiences. Featuring #1 pop and R&B hit, 'Superstition.'" Remastered reissue of the original 1972 album; 180 gram virgin vinyl; gatefold sleeve.

Artist: MAYALL, JOHN
Title: The Turning Point
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $40.00
Catalog #: VL 900402LP
"Recorded live in 1969 during a show at NYC's famed Fillmore East just after Mick Taylor left to join The Rolling Stones. The album instead featured the guitar playing of Jon Mark and John Almond on sax and flute but no drums. This created a sound that was radically different from their previous releases. Contains 3 bonus tracks." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Artist: STEWART, ROD
Title: Never A Dull Moment
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900419LP
"Rod Stewart's fourth album, released in 1972, hit number 1 in the UK and U.S., and songs 'You Wear It Well' and 'Twisting The Night Away' were huge international hits as well. And it is easy to see why after giving Never A Dull Moment a spin. His own special brew of folk rock is rock solid on this album. This is Rod Stewart at his creative peak, still sounding his very best." Remastered reissue of the original 1972 album, 180 gram virgin vinyl, gatefold sleeve.

Artist: GAYE, MARVIN
Title: What's Going On
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: VL 900426LP
"Originally released in 1971, the What's Going On? album is widely considered to be Marvin Gaye's master work. A social commentary on American life that remains poignant 30+ years later. However, Berry Gordy was initially dead set against its release, calling the single 'uncommercial.' Thankfully, the Motown execs eventually relented and the song soon became a huge hit, going down in history as one of the greatest R&B songs of all time. Contains 2 bonus tracks." 180 gram vinyl, gatefold sleeve.

Artist: BELL, MAGGIE
Title: Queen of the Night
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900433LP
Remastered reissue of the original 1974 album. "Maggie Bell's beautiful voice rings true in this, her first solo album, originally released in 1974. Here Bell (who first gained notoriety with Stone The Crows) is accompanied by many talented musicians of the period, including Steve Gadd on drums and guitarists Cornell Dupree, Reggie Young, Chuck Rainey and Barry Goldberg. Featuring stellar versions of John Prine's 'Souvenirs,' JJ Cale's 'After Midnight' (which, in our opinion, is even better than Eric Clapton's version), a very intimate version of 'A Woman Left Lonely,' famously covered by Janis Joplin on Pearl, and a beautiful and intense 'As The Years Go Passing By.' Maggie Bell is the greatest Scottish soul rock singer of all time and this album is precious testimony to that fact."

Title: Suicide Sal
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900440LP
Remastered reissue of the original 1975 album. "Often referred to as the Scottish Janis Joplin, Maggie Bell first became known for her singing in Stone The Crows. After collaborating with Rod Stewart and The Who, and releasing a critically-acclaimed album with legendary producer Jerry Wexler, 1975's Suicide Sal became Bell's second solo release, but her first for Swan Song Records, where she was signed along with Bad Company and The Pretty Things. This album, also featuring a guest appearance by Jimmy Page (also producer of the album), navigates through ballads and electrifying rock & roll for a magnificent set on what might just be her best album."

Artist: BRIGGS, ANNE
Title: Nottinghamshire Tales
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900564LP
180 gram vinyl. Licensed from Fledg'ling -- this is a retitled version of their previous CD: Sing A Song For You. "There are few female folk singers with the natural talent of Anne Briggs, and although she never became a major star (mostly because she wasn't interested) it is difficult to overstate her influence on the British folk scene of the '60s and '70s. (i.e. Pentangle, Fairport Convention). Discovered in a local club in 1962 before she had even turned 18, she was soon touring all over the British Isles, living the troubador's life and influencing a generation of young folk musicians wherever she went. She went on to release three solo albums between 1971 and 1973 before tragically abandoning the music scene forever. Brilliant musicians who walk away from their career at their creative peak are few and far between (remember Cat Stevens?), but that is exactly what Anne Briggs did...and fans and fellow musicians have been begging her to go back into the recording studio ever since! This is her third and last solo album, recorded in 1973 and finally released in the '90s as Sing A Song For You. Anne was pregnant for her second child at the time of these recordings and already living off the coast of Scotland in the Hebrides islands, as far from the London music scene as possible! Not surprisingly, given Briggs' talent, the album has since become known as 'lost classic'. Accompanied by 'Ragged Robin' a folk rock band assembled by Steve Ashley (with Richard Byers on mandolin and lead guitar, Brian Diprose on bass, and John Thompson on drums), these brilliant versions of British folk standards and original material, are delivered with the kind of rare sincerity and natural vocal ability that slices through time, straight to the soul."

Artist: FLEETWOOD MAC
Title: Live At The Boston Tea Party
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 4LP
Price: $55.00
Catalog #: VL 900571LP
"By 1970 Fleetwood Mac were immensely popular, touring constantly both at home and abroad. In February 1970 the band rocked Boston's legendary 'Boston Tea Party' playing three amazing concerts there for three consecutive nights in a row. The performances were recorded in hopes of releasing a live album, but frontman Peter Green soon announced his decision to quit the band and the masters were promptly shelved. Some of the material eventually trickled out onto a few albums during the 1980s (Jumping at Shadows, Roots-The Original Fleetwood Mac Live in Concert, etc.), but the sound quality was consistently poor and much of the material was left unreleased. The recordings were finally given the treatment they deserved in 1998 when the original masters were uncovered and remixed at SRT Studios in the UK (by Nick Watson). These recordings were released the following year as a 3-CD box set called The Boston Box and now, for the first time, are being brought to vinyl, as a 4-disc 'book style' limited edition deluxe collector's LP with new vintage cover art. This is essential Fleetwood Mac by any standards!"

Artist: SUN RA
Title: United World In Outer Space
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900588LP
"Decades before his time, political and musical revolutionary, Sun Ra, developed a new plane of cultural existence where black people were all-powerful beings from outer space, sending their intergalactic message through jazz music. Recorded live in 1975 at Cleveland's legendary jazz club, the Smiling Dog Saloon, when Sun Ra and his Arkestra descended on the city for a week-long residency. You can imagine how the uninitiated's jaw must have dropped when Ra and his 15 musicians marched out onto the stage decked in glittery space costumes, playing percussion instruments and chanting. This high quality live performance is top-shelf Ra playing a kind of spaced out world music with hints of disco. Ra sings, plays the Moog, piano and organ, while everyone else plays alternately some kind of percussion or reed instrument, sings, dances, and claps hands. Check out his other-worldly version of Duke Ellington's 'Sophisticated Lady', featuring John Gilmore on sax, and his extended Moog solo!"

Artist: OZRIC TENTACLES
Title: Strangeitude
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900601LP
180 gram vinyl. "Taking the essence of the hippy / psych movement of the 1960s, the DIY spirit of punk rock and elements of new age, the Ozric Tentacles, beginning in 1983, began dominating the British underground with their own unique style of instrumental space rock. The band gained popularity playing the festival circuit and releasing self-produced cassette tapes to an ever increasing number of fans. By 1991 they had amassed a huge following and had become gurus for a new generation of hippies, aka the 'crusties.' Despite their managing to stay below the radar for most of their musical career, by 1991 they had become so popular that they attracted interest of record labels in the US. The album that finally brought the Ozrics to American audiences (via a contract with Capitol) was 1991's Strangeitude, an album that despite its musical complexity still manages to have widespread appeal, due to the shear genius of its musicianship, use of instruments, and the band's ability to build a compelling parallel universe. Includes two bonus tracks: 'Throbbe' and 'Weirditude.'"

Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900618LP
"1997's Curious Corn finds our favourite DIY neo-psych space rockers rocking around the universe once again with a genre-defying mix of Eastern / African-influenced synth / glissando guitar-driven grooves. With each new release the Ozrics seem to top themselves and when this came out over a decade ago it had fans and critics raving that this was their best release yet. Here the Ozrics, featuring Ed Wynne on six-string guitar and synth, John Egan on flute, Seaweed on synth, Rad on drums and Zia on bass, take listeners ever deeper down the rabbit hole... a satisfying journey for those who dare to follow."

Artist: SUN RA & HIS SPACE ARKESTRA
Title: What Planet Is This?
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VL 900632LP
"Recorded live in New York in 1973 with a 25-piece Arkestra, What Planet Is This? comes from a time when Sun Ra had just exploded onto the wider music scene, touring all over Europe, and even teaching a class at the University of California called 'The Black Man In The Cosmos', where Ra was given a chance not only to teach about music, but also his world-view which, in some ways, was not unlike that of the hippies. Although many get caught up in his stagey esotericism and claims that he was from another planet, perhaps it can all be read as a simple code message to others to be anyone you want to be, regardless of race, or indeed, planet. Highlights of this recording include the ten-minute full-blown 'Love In Outer Space', featuring unfettered organ, horns and a wall-of-sound approach to percussion, and the wild and whirling 'Shadow World'. In fact, Ra is at his best when he takes his audience by storm, pulling out all the stops as he does so masterfully on this rare performance with a 25-piece Arkestra, one of his largest ever!"

Artist: VANITY FARE
Title: Early In The Morning
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900649LP
180 gram vinyl. "Formed in 1968 in Kent, England, the band is probably best remembered for its hit songs 'Early In the Morning' and 'Hitchin' A Ride,' which both became gold albums in the USA and reached the Top Ten. 'Hitchin A Ride' actually became a hippy anthem and dance craze. Going against the heavy acid rock trend of the late sixties with their brilliant melodies and harmonic singing, the band, still active today, is one of the true forgotten gems of the era. This version of the album -- originally released in 1970 -- features 10 bonus tracks from the period."

Title: Solid
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900663LP
"In the tradition of the best bands of the era, the Groundhogs took something known, like 'the blues', and twisted it into something entirely new, so that over three decades later their sound still has a character all its own. Led by the extremely talented and inventive guitar wizard / idea-man Tony McPhee, with Clive Brooks and Peter Cruickshank as the hard-hitting rhythm section, Solid (1973) was one of a string of excellent albums by the band during this period, but on this album, the band really stretches out, boldly trying out a number of effects and instruments (mellotron, for example) mostly with great success."

Artist: MAGNA CARTA
Title: Live In Bergen
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900670LP
180 gram vinyl. "Despite being one of the greatest and longest running British folk bands of all time, Chris Simpson's Magna Carta has kept a relatively low profile compared to the various bands its members -like Rick Wakeman (Yes), Pick Withers (Dire Straits), and Davey Johnstone (Elton John) - have gone on to form. By the time this concert was recorded live in Norway in 1978, Magna Carta had already been together for nearly a decade. Here, with the help of an exceptional lineup -- featuring Tom Hoy on vocals, Robin Thyne on percussion, Tom McConville on fiddle, and Lee Abbott on bass -- Simpson creates a magic atmosphere, and listening to these impeccably crafted songs it is easy to hear why Magna Carta have kept on going while so many of their contemporaries have just faded away. An absolute masterpiece, finally back on vinyl!"

Artist: JOHN'S CHILDREN
Title: Jagged Time Lapse
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900700LP
Restocked, lower pricing. "The band that was 'louder than the Who' and who became one of the earliest examples of psychedelic flower power. You will find Marc Bolan (T.Rex) at his loudest all over this. Everything you'll want from one of Britain's most rambunctious bands. In fact, the band's stage show, which included band members fighting each other and Bolan whipping the stage with a chain, was a huge influence on punk rock. Many cuts are penned (and performed) by Marc Bolan. Bonus tracks include a cover of The Beatles' 'Help.' Includes J. C. favorites such as: 'Desdemona' (which was banned by the BBC due to its 'controversial lyrics'), 'Midsummer Night's Scene' and 'Go-Go Girl.'"

Artist: JOHN'S CHILDREN
Title: Smashed Blocked!
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900717LP
Restocked, lower pricing; 180 gram vinyl. "An album collecting the material Marc Bolan recorded during his brief stint as lead singer of the short-lived (1966-68) mod psych band John's Children, although perhaps better known for their image and stage antics than their actual music (apparently managing to upstage the kings of stage antics, the Who, and inspire generations of punk rockers). Their debut single 'Smashed Blocked' was recorded by session men due to their lack of proficiency on their instruments, but by the time their second single 'Just What You'll Get' was released things were looking considerably up, featuring a solo by Jeff Beck on 'But She's Mine,' the single's B-side. Bolan joined the group soon after and recorded the single 'Desdemona' (banned by the BBC for its controversial lyrics). Of the 17 tracks present, a full 9 are either penned or performed by Marc Bolan. Although this band may only be a footnote in the annals of British freakbeat, original copies of the 'Midsummer's Night Scene' single have sold for $4,000! Includes printed innersleeve with liner notes."

Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900723LP
"Although the band name itself may not ring any bells for too many people, largely because it never released any records during its lifetime (1964-1967), it was a pillar of the legendary Canterbury scene of the mid-to-late sixties. Band members included: Robert Wyatt, Kevin Ayers, Hugh Hopper (all soon to form the seminal Soft Machine) as well as members from another influential Canterbury band, Caravan (David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings, Richard Coughlan, Brian Hopper). In fact, much of the material found here could have easily been found on an early Soft Machine album. This 19-track compilation is now finally available on vinyl for the first time." Title: Live At The Carousel Ballroom, 4th April 1968
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VL 900731LP
"One of the best bands live ever, QMS were ready to record much before their eponymous debut in 1968. The acid psych combo formed by John Cipollina, Gary Duncan, Jim Murray, David Freiberg and Gary Elmore had been active in West Coast venues and live festivals since 1965, mainly as a jam session band with long lasting performances in the typical pre hippy Bay Area style. This April 1968 concert at the Carousel Ballroom, performed a month before their vinyl debut, unveils the mesmerizing and hypnotic power that the band was developing at this early stage. Amazing audio quality for a double album that will disappoint neither core fans nor newcomers." On 180 gram vinyl.

Catalog #: VL 900748LP
"The self-proclaimed 'king of garage rock' Billy Childish acted as frontman to this band from 1989 to 2000. The most prolific of Childish's musical endeavors, the band recorded 14 albums during its lifetime. Here is what Childish himself had to say about the album: 'unsophisticated balderdash from the English gentlemen of rock n' roll Thee Headcoats and their cohorts, the majorettes from hell, Thee Headcoatees. 15 raucous tracks of unabashed ineptitude from a secret London pub gig in April 1995. This gig was wasted on the audience as most probably will this record be wasted on your good self.'" 180 gram vinyl.

Title: False True Lovers
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900762LP
180 gram vinyl. "One of the key voices in British folk, False True Lovers was Shirley Collins debut album, recorded in 1959 for Smithsonian Folkways when Collins (who had just spent time collecting field recordings with the legendary Alan Lomax all around the American South) was just 23. This album, a collection of a cappella British and Irish folk songs helped paved the way for the British folk revival of the 1960s, when Collins, by this time married to Ashley Hutchings, helped introduce bands like Pentangle, Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span to more traditional fare. A masterpiece of the genre!"

Artist: SOFTLEY, MICK
Title: Songs For Swingin' Survivors
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900779LP
180 gram vinyl. "One of the most collectible British folk albums of the 1960s, Softley was a true folksinger in the vein of Bob Dylan, as he so deftly proved by his first album Songs For Swinging Survivors, released in 1965. A huge influence on the more famous Donovan, Softley's beautiful voice and guitar playing is captured here in all its glory. Impeccable versions of Billie Holiday's 'Strange Fruit' and Woody Guthrie's 'Plains Of The Buffalo' complete Softley's gem, an absolute must for folk aficionados and a nice surprise for the newcomers."

Artist: MORRIS, ROGER
Title: First Album
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900786LP
180 gram vinyl. "Originally released in 1972 on Regal Zonophone, Morris' ultra rare First Album touches down in an important British roots revival scene that later gave rise to the pub rock genre of the late 70s. An interesting and gifted performer, Morris takes a trip into folk rock and brings with him some of the finest musicians of the period: Tommy Eyre, Johnny Almond, Chris Mercer, and John Weider. This reissue features 4 bonus tracks from the CD version that have never been previously released on LP."

Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VL 900816LP
180 gram vinyl. "1979 gig for the space hard rock band that marked the transition between hard rock and the acid psych scene of the '80s. Astounding sounds, amazing music.... classic tunes like 'Spirit of the Age,' PXR5,' 'Silver Machine,' and the obligatory fave 'Brainstorm,' while the sound is aptly applied to material current to the period, like 'Motorway City,' 'World Of Tiers,' and 'Levitation.''

Artist: HUNGER!
Title: Strictly From Hunger
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900823LP
"Hunger! (originally from Portland, Oregon), were full-fledged members of the L.A. psych scene of the late-sixties, and despite their opening for top-shelf acts like the Doors and The Strawberry Alarm Clock, their one and only album did not make much of a splash at the time, and the band dissolved soon after its release. However, the album has since become one of the most collectible in its genre and upon listening one can see why. This rhythm-heavy Doors-influenced hard psych is frequently referred to as 'one of the best psychedelic albums of all time'! Band member Ed King went on to play with the Strawberry Alarm Clock and Lynyrd Skynyrd." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: A Message From Birmingham Sunday
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900830LP
Restocked, lower pricing. "Formed by some high-school friends from Carson City, Nevada, the band began playing clubs around the state in the late sixties, and soon landed a contract with Bill Holmes' (Strawberry Alarm Clock's producer) label, All American. This teenage band played mostly folk-influenced psych, with beautiful male/female vocal harmonies rising above the music (which featured Doors-influenced organ playing and some wind instruments as well). The album was originally released as a test pressing, and the impossibly-rare original copies have been known to sell for mind-boggling prices." 180 gram vinyl.

Artist: BIG BROTHER (FEAT. ERNIE JOSEPH)
Title: Confusion
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900847LP
"Fringe-figure Ernie Joseph, the band's charismatic front-man, formed various groups around Southern California before finally forming his most successful effort, Big Brother, and signing to Bill Holmes' All American label in the late sixties. The band's first, and unfortunately last release, Confusion, is intense, blues-heavy Southern California psych, which weighs in at the Hendrix-end of the spectrum. Known for its wild live shows, the band, despite being an important piece of the L.A. psych scene, was soon forgotten by all but a small army of devoted fans and collectors (who often break the bank to get their hands on an original copy)." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: Live At The Fillmore Auditorium, 4th February 1967
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VL 900878LP
"Finally available to fans after more than four decades in the vaults, this live performance at San Francisco's Fillmore is a delicious early glimpse at one of the architects (alongside Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead) of West Coast acid rock in the months leading up to the Summer of Love. In fact, QMS was opening for Jefferson Airplane the night this album was recorded. Although the band had been playing live all around the Bay Area since 1965, their official Capitol Records debut would not come out until the following year, making this album a rare opportunity to hear what the band sounded like a full year prior... and as a five-piece (singer/harmonica player Jim Murray quit the band before their debut was recorded, and the band continued from that point on as a four-piece). It also features original intended front man, and future QMS member Dino Valenti (best known for having written the hippy anthem 'Get Together'), performing several of his own songs, not heard on any other album! Essential listening!"

Artist: WALKER, PETER
Title: Long Lost Tapes 1970
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900885LP
"While remaining largely unknown to the general public, Peter Walker was something of a legend along the Boston-New York folk axis of the 1960s, releasing a few celebrated albums for Vanguard during this period. Playing with various folk luminaries like Fred Neil, Joan Baez, Tim Hardin and Karen Dalton, and studying Spanish flamenco and Indian classical guitar with none other than Ravi Shankar, Walker was both a true student of his instrument and a pioneer, using not only acoustic guitar, but, as can be heard on this album, also electric. Recorded in 1970 at Levon Helm's (The Band) house in Woodstock, with the likes of legendary Detroit drummer Maruga Booker and tabla god Badal Roy, this is an essential release for fans." CD available on Tompkins Square.

Artist: TAUSSIG, HARRY
Title: Fate Is Only Once
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900892LP
"An extremely rare album of instrumental guitar, originally released as a private pressing in 1965 (while Taussig was living in 'Beserkley,' right on the cusp of the '60s revolution) and then forgotten until the album was finally saved from the black hole of music with a re-release on CD in 2006. While this album is a faithful slice of American roots, folk, traditional rags and blues, Taussig is not a mere student of these styles, rather he brings a contemporary approach and a darkly sarcastic humor to the music that is all his own. In the vein of guitarists like John Fahey, Taussig is extremely proficient on his instrument (he even wrote a book called Instrumental Techniques of American Folk Guitar), but never bound by mere technique. An important piece in the puzzle of the American folk revival." Pressed on 180 gram virgin vinyl. Licensed from Tompkins Square, whose own domestic vinyl edition is still available.

Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 9009080LP
180 gram LP, black vinyl version with full color glossy inner sleeve. "Before the indie rock scene was blown wide open by Nirvana in the early nineties, the Pixies loomed large on college radio. By taking standard pop formats and turning them inside out, the band spelled out the new commandments of alterna-rock to a new generation of would-be grunge rockers. In March 1987, as the Pixies were just beginning to gain a reputation around the Boston area, they recorded their first demo, known by Pixies fans as The PurpleTape. This demo landed the Pixies their first record deal with 4AD, and the eight songs that appear on their first album Come On Pilgrim were culled from this same demo. However, there were nine more songs that didn't make the cut, and these are the songs that are found here. That original raw 1987 demo comes early versions of 'Here Comes Your Man,' 'Down The Well' and 'Build High,' as well as the hidden gem 'Rock A My Soul.' It is both musically satisfying and interesting to hear the Pixies at their very beginning, before they were influenced by the mighty Steve Albini."

Catalog #: VL 900915LP
"Witty, confessional lyrics about the pain and elation of adolescent love accompanied by jangly and frantic guitar has made this album a favorite of many a fan of late-80s indie pop. Hovering in its own brilliant universe somewhere between the less pornographic side of the Buzzcocks and the happier side of the Smiths comes the Wedding Present's classic 1987 debut, George Best. Here with 9 bonus tracks taken from their final two singles on the band's own Reception label."

Artist: MARK-ALMOND
Title: Nightmusic
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900922LP
"The last album ever recorded by the great Mark-Almond duo. Formed in 1970, after leaving John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Mark-Almond created a few great mellow jazz / blues rock albums in the 70s before disbanding and going their separate ways (Mark, to New Zealand and Almond to California). After many years apart, in 1996 Mark and Almond came together for one last magical moment in music. Smooth sax and piano, along with beautiful captivating vocals mark their final album before Almond's death in November 2009, age 63."

Artist: MARK, JON
Title: A Celtic Story
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900939LP
"Jon Mark originally gained notoriety in the mid sixties as a skilled session musician. He, along with Mick Jagger, produced Marianne Faithfull's earliest releases, sometimes playing on her live performances. Like so many British rock stars of the sixties and seventies, he also spent time playing with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, where he met sax player Johnny Almond. The two soon formed Mark-Almond duo, and released several influential jazz rock albums during the seventies. Mark, however, eventually moved to New Zealand where he began playing more new age music, like this 1995 concept album of Celtic ambient music released on the White Cloud label. Here Mark paints a musical portrait of the Viking invasions of Ireland during the ninth century."

Title: The Big Sleep: Live In Europe 1980
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900946LP
"Although The Only Ones officially disbanded in 1981 after the release of their third album, they have never been forgotten, influencing such bands as the Replacements, Blur, the Libertines, and countless others. In fact, the band has been so deeply influential that many of their songs feel as if they were written yesterday, and hits like 'Another Girl, Another Planet' have become genuine rock standards. Peter Perrett's witty, but sincere lyrics of love lost, along with a unique musical style that flirted with power pop, new wave, punk, and hard rock made them one of a kind in the thickly populated undergrowth of 77 British punk. This album, recorded live in Europe in 1980, has it all: their best songs played while the band was at its peak, plus five songs never before heard on any other live recording."

Artist: THUNDERS, JOHNNY
Title: Que Sera, Sera
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 900953LP
"In 1985, after several years of drifting from live show to after-hours party, punk's Moses was shaken (briefly) out of his drug-induced stupor to cut an all new studio album. For this event, punk's elite was paraded in (John Perry, Stiv Bators, Glen Matlock, Patti Palladin, Dave Tregunna, Wilko Johnson and Mike Monroe) for guest performances and Thunders finally seemed to be buckling down to doing what his record label was paying him for. His number one priority was to write a song to win back his Swedish girlfriend, which he did with style in 'I Only Wrote This Song For You' (apparently winning back said-girlfriend). He also churned out some classic punk mantras, as was his forte, with 'M.I.A.', 'Little Bit Of Whore', and personal anthem, 'Short Lives' and brought in a bizarre reworking of the campy classic 'Que Sera, Sera', made famous by Doris Day... which, needless to say, sung by Johnny had a whole new set of connotations. While perhaps not the classic work of his earlier material, this album proved that he still had something to offer his fans. Unfortunately, half a decade later, Johnny would be dead, leaving this as one of his last testimonies of what could have been and what was." Includes 3 bonus tracks.

"Despite her stunning beauty, famous friends and lovers, and a promising career as a model, Nico, instead of becoming the trophy wife of a rich man, aligned herself with nihilism and self-destruction, becoming the goddess of the underworld...a beautiful and tragic angel of death with a voice from the beyond. In 1982 she recorded two tracks with Martin Hannett, most known for producing the similarly gloomy Joy Division and New Order, and backed by The Invisible Girls. These tracks, a reworking of the Velvet Underground's 'All Tomorrow's Parties' and her own brooding 'Procession', alongside heavily atmospheric live tracks selected from her 1983 tour in London, Copenhagen, Utrecht and Amsterdam are present here. Femme Fatale also includes versions of songs written for her by Dylan, Browne, Bowie and Lou Reed as well as nine Nico originals. Also featuring a detailed bio by Nina Antonia." Gatefold sleeve.

Artist: FOWLEY, KIM
Title: Animal God Of The Streets
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900977LP
"A driving force behind both flower power and punk rock, if you are a rock 'n' roll fan chances are you've crossed paths with something Kim Fowley either wrote or produced. When he wasn't busy writing songs for, or producing, the Beach Boys, Cat Stevens, Frank Zappa, the Runaways, the Modern Lovers, and Soft Machine, to name just a few, he was releasing his own albums, like this 1975 LP, a Doors-influenced garage binge from the outer fringes of rock 'n' roll. Includes annotated track list and liner notes by Kim Fowley!"

Artist: FLAMIN' GROOVIES, THE
Title: Grease
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900984LP
"One of the best bands to come out of San Francisco in the 1960s. The Flamin' Groovies were part of the whole flower power scene, but as a band, they couldn't have been farther from it. Instead of dressing like hippies and playing like the Grateful Dead, the Flamin' Groovies dressed like mods and played like a cross between Little Richard and the Yardbirds. Despite never gaining the fame and fortune they dreamed of, the Groovies are often cited as important precursors to the punk scene. This album is a collection of the complete Skydog singles from 1973-1981. The singles were originally issued on the French label, with some produced by Dave Edmunds in the legendary Monmouth Studio in Wales, and some recorded at Phil Spector's Gold Star Studios. It includes a mix of classic pop covers and Groovies originals. Includes extensive liner notes by Skydog's Marc Zermati."

Title: Media Blitz
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 900991LP
"Darby Crash's vocals are a train wreck, Pat Smear's guitar spins out of control, no one keeps time -- and yet somehow the Germs live was some of the greatest punk rock that ever was. These rare recordings -- made in 1978 at L.A.'s Hong Kong Café and in 1979 at the legendary Whisky a Go Go, plus two rehersals recorded at S.I.R. studios -- are punk rock in the making, the likes of which has never been seen since."

Artist: RILEY, TERRY
Title: Lisbon Concert
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VL 901004LP
"Recorded live in Lisbon, Portugal at the Festival Dos Capuchos, 16th July 1995." "This gorgeous set of piano improvisations reflects minimalist composer Terry Riley's lifelong study of Indian music. It is an outstanding recording which captures Terry Riley at an inspired peak. Performances of such spontaneous and beautiful music are scarce and even less-frequently performed by the composer himself at such a late stage in an extraordinary career. To sound so inspired and inventive some 40 years after defining minimalist music is quite a feat. Coming from such a consistently brilliant composer, who would expect less?" -- Skip Jansen

Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 901011LP
As they say on the internet, "After the apocalypse it will be difficult to explain wine tastings." Or, this fucking "new" Vibrators album!! WTF is wrong with these people? "Forty years after punk rock first shook the music world to its foundation, the Vibrators are back in the studio for an enjoyable romp down memory lane, resurrecting classics by bands who -- like the Vibrators -- were there when it all began and who helped write the Book of Genesis in the punk rock bible. Bands like the Undertones, the Ramones, the Dead Boys (featuring MC5's Wayne Kramer), UK Subs, the Clash, the Sex Pistols, the Saints, 999, the Stranglers and more!"

Artist: ERICKSON, ROKY
Title: The Holiday Inn Tapes
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901028LP
"On December 1, 1986 Patrick Mathè from the French label, New Rose, met Roky at the Holiday Inn in Austin, TX to record the first ten tracks on this album. Due to the fact that these tracks were recorded in a hotel room, the sound quality is not superb, but still very acceptable. The thing that is superb about this album, however, is the fact that listeners get a chance to hear Roky alone in an extremely intimate setting with his acoustic guitar, playing his own material and two inspired covers by fellow Texan musical genius, Buddy Holly. The final four tracks on the album are taken from the rare and demon-ridden 1977 Sponge Records EP, recorded shortly after Roky was released from a mental institution." 180 gram vinyl.

Artist: THUNDERS & THE HEARTBREAKERS, JOHNNY
Title: L.A.M.F. - Demos, Outtakes And Alternative Mixes
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $16.50
Catalog #: VL 901035LP
"Rising from the ashes of the New York Dolls, in 1975, Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan formed the Heartbreakers. In 1976 the Heartbreakers were invited to the UK by Malcolm McLaren to take part in the Sex Pistols' Anarchy tour. During the band's stay in London, they recorded and released (for Track records) their one and only studio album, an instant punk classic although fraught with audio problems. This album is a collection of alternate mixes from 1977 recorded at various studios, as well as two 1977 demo sessions recorded for EMI. It also features rare instrumental backing tracks of several songs, complete with studio banter which giving rare insight into one of the greatest punk albums of all time."

Title: The Psychedelic Ubik
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901042LP
"2004's critically acclaimed debut solo album by the enigmatic drummer of Spacemen 3. Amazing songwriting that fuses atmospheric space pop with an acid-laced romp through the annals of rock & roll, reflected in the album's two covers, Alex Chilton's 'Blue Moon' and a variation on '60s garage band The Balloon Farm's 'Question Of Temperature' ('Ludic Revolution'). Out of the past of some parallel universe comes triumphantly the future of underground psych. Produced by Neil Brockbank (Nick Lowe, Bryan Ferry) and also featuring the Time Out Single of the Week 'Girl From Orbit'."

Artist: SUN RA ARKESTRA
Title: Egypt Strut
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901059LP
"In 1983 Sun Ra travelled to Egypt -- the land of great African kings and perhaps descendants of an alien race, and therefore, a kind of spiritual homeland for Ra -- to record two compositions by the godfather of Egyptian jazz, percussionist Salah Ragab. The second piece, 'Dawn', is a composition based on an Islamic hymn sung during the Arabic month of 'Shawall' and features Ra playing the Hohner melodica. This record is particularly significant because, despite Ra's enormous discography and tours to all corners of the globe, this is one of the few times he ever recorded with a non-African American musician. Perhaps Ra was intrigued by the fact that the two men shared the same initials? Or perhaps he was drawn to his exceptional talent as a percussionist... knowing Ra it was probably a little of both. Also includes 'Watusa', recorded live at 'Il Capo' Jazz club in Cairo in January 1984." Backcover notes by Hartmut Geerken.

Title: Piano Recital (Teatro La Fenice In Venice)
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VL 901066LP
"Sun Ra was an extremely prolific artist and while hundreds of recordings exist of Sun Ra, there are only a handful where he can be heard playing solo. This amazing and rare solo performance recorded live in 1977 at the world-famous La Fenice opera house in Venice, and featuring Sun Ra playing a mix of standards as well as his own material on piano, is a rewarding journey into the repertoire of one of the most controversial and unorthodox musicians in the history of jazz."

Artist: CHILTON, ALEX
Title: Like Flies On Sherbert
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901073LP
"A step beyond the pop-perfection of Big Star lay Chilton's darker side. His 1979 solo effort was both a brilliant and flawed drug-fuelled examination of his own country roots in search of a new direction. Through songs by Ernest Tubb, Jimmy C. Newman, Roy Orbison and K.C. and the Sunshine Band, as well as some originals, Chilton produced a looser album that allowed his new-found creativity to flow through the many cracks, simultaneously dividing fans into two camps: the Big Star purists, and the ones who were able to see the genius on the flip-side of its demise."

Artist: THUNDERS, JOHNNY
Title: Hurt Me
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901080LP
"A collection of rare acoustic tracks recorded in Paris in November 1983 during the period in which Thunders had reformed the Heartbreakers and was recording and touring again all over the world. Hurt Me proved that underneath all the snarl and swagger Thunders could still deliver a brilliant performance."

Title: Spit The Blues Out
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901103LP
"2002 release by the Australian band whose 1977 debut single, '(I'm) Stranded' became one of the anthems of the original '77 era of punk rock. While The Saints abandoned punk rock circa 1980, and the only remaining member from the original line-up is singer/guitarist Chris Bailey, this album of down and dirty blues rock is punk in its own right, if you define 'punk rock' as a way of being instead of a musical genre. A kind of tribute to a time when rock & roll was still dangerous, and ironically more akin to the kind of music that many American and particularly British bands were making just prior to the advent of punk." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: Longbranch
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901127LP
"This hit-laden set, recorded in April 1972 at Berkeley's legendary Longbranch Saloon, captures the Modern Lovers as they so expertly walk that fine line between genius and disaster. One of the few existing live recordings of the band in their heyday, this rare recording captures the live energy of Richman & co. as they churn through all their 'hits.' Also includes a cover of the then unreleased Velvet Underground track, 'Foggy Notion'." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: 24 Hours
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901141LP
"A fleeting moment of inspired folk rock/psychedelia, recorded at Oberlin College in 1968 by four college students and one local teen. The band was the brainchild of student and guitarist Steve DeTray who had just returned to school after a brief hiatus in Utah, where he was undoubtedly inspired by the whole West Coast psychedelic rock scene. Upon returning to Oberlin DeTray recruited some friends who had already been playing together in a blues band. After a year spent playing a mix of covers and original material, mostly at on-campus and off-campus parties, the boys decide to commit their moment in history to vinyl, recording 24 Hours in two sessions with the help of fellow student David Crosby (not of CSN&Y fame, as is sometimes claimed). The original pressing was just 300 copies that were then sold mainly to friends and local fans, and soon became one of those rare collectibles from which several low-quality bootlegs were made. This album has been digitally remastered and features the original sleeve art." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: Live In Groningen, Holland 26.10.1980
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901158LP
"After the release of their first drummerless single, 'All Night Party' in 1979 -- one of the first releases on the legendary Manchester-based Factory Records (Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays) -- ACR added 'funky drummer' Donald Johnson to their mix and a began serving up a new mix of highly danceable post-punk funk. After going to America to tour (along with label mates New Order) and record their debut LP, To Each... (produced by Martin Hannett), ACR returned to Europe, where they were soon taking part in another Factory package tour of Holland, Belgium and Germany, shared with Section 25, as well as The Names and Durutti Column. Recorded live on October 26th at a tiny venue in Northern Holland, this LP is comprised mostly of material for their upcoming debut album. A great sounding live album from those exciting early days, thanks to the work of a highly competent soundman, and of course a great sounding band." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: Circuses And Bread
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901165LP
"The brainchild of classically trained musician, Vini Reilly, who took the band's name and idea of putting their first release in a sandpaper sleeve (so as to 'destroy all other albums on the shelf', from the avant-garde Situationist International movement), but Reilly himself, DC's only constant member, was (and is) 100% Manchester. Releasing a steady stream of experimental albums on the legendary Factory Records (Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays, etc.) beginning in 1981. Originally released on the Factory Benelux label in 1986, Circuses And Bread was DC's fifth in a steady stream of excellent and experimental studio albums, featuring viola, trumpet, and piano interspersed with Reilly's stellar guitar work. Remastered in 2008." On 180 gram vinyl.

Artist: MATTHEWS' SOUTHERN COMFORT
Title: Matthews' Southern Comfort
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901172LP
"Originally released in 1969, Matthews' Southern Comfort was Ian Matthews' first album after leaving Fairport Convention. Although many Fairport personnel appear here (i.e. Richard Thompson, Simon Nicol, Ashley Hutchings), for his new band Matthews had begun distancing himself from the pure English folk rock of Fairport, preferring instead to explore a more American breed of song writing, being made popular at the time by bands like the Byrds and Bob Dylan, as well as provide a stage for his own compositions, like 'Please Be My Friend' and 'Thoughts For A Friend.' The group would soon go on to have a massive hit with their version of Joni Mitchell's 'Woodstock.' Special gatefold issue with lyrics!"

Artist: MATTHEWS, IAN
Title: If You Saw Thro' My Eyes
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901196LP
"Shortly after Matthews' Southern Comfort unexpectedly took Joni Mitchell's 'Woodstock' to the top of the UK charts in 1970, Ian (now Iain) Matthews abruptly dissolved the band in favor of a solo career. The result was this excellent album released in 1971 for Vertigo featuring an all-star cast of players, including Fairport Convention's Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson, as well as Pink Floyd entourage members Andy Roberts and Tim Renwick, and celebrated keyboardist Keith Tippett. This album of self-penned compositions was Matthews' best yet and fully solidified his reputation as a first rate singer-songwriter. Highlights include the beautiful title track and duet with Sandy Denny, 'If You Saw Thro' My Eyes,' 'Hearts' and the epic 'Southern Wind.' Also features two covers by the late great Greenwich Village folk singer Richard Farina (married to Joan Baez's sister, Mimi), 'Reno Nevada' and his scathing criticism of Bob Dylan, 'Morgan The Pirate.' Includes lyrics." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: In Search Of Amelia Earhart
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901202LP
"Originally released in 1972 for Elektra, In Search Of Amelia Earhart was a critically-acclaimed concept album inspired by Amelia Earhart's mysterious disappearance in 1939. For this album, Ian Matthews, who had released a flurry of excellent albums since leaving Fairport Convention, once again proves his talent as a song smith with songs like 'True Story of Amelia Earhart's Last Night' and 'Even The Guiding Light.' He also continues his research into the folk song, sharing his favorites with fans through a handful of outstanding covers, including Dave McEnry's 'Amelia Earhart's Last Flight' and Paul Siebel's 'Louise.' Matthews also, as always, has a talent for surrounding himself with excellent musicians, this time employing the help of Andy Roberts, Dave Richards and Bob Ronga." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: Live At The Avalon Ballroom, 1966
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901219LP
"These recordings of the QMS at the Avalon in September and October of 1966 are the earliest existing recordings of one of the original architects of acid rock. Here QMS is a five-piece featuring original vocalist Jim Murray, who quit the band shortly before their long-awaited debut was recorded for Capitol in 1968. Highlights include 'Pride Of Man' (which would eventually find its way onto their debut album), 'Mona' (which would show up again on their classic LP Happy Trails), and (in keeping with their reputation for being a great jam band) a 20-minute version of Willie Dixon's 'Hoochie Coochie Man'. Recorded live at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco on September 9 and October 28, 1966." On 180 gram vinyl.

Artist: SOFT MACHINE
Title: At Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VL 901226LP
"Recorded in April of 1970, just a few months before the release of Third (soon destined to become their most successful album), this memorable performance marks a significant turning point in the band's history, when Soft Machine had begun exploring in earnest a type of music that would soon become simply known as 'fusion'. As rock artists began incorporating traditional jazz instruments (like saxophones) into their groups, jazz artists (most famously, Miles Davis on albums like Bitches Brew) began bringing in electric guitars and wah wah pedals. It seemed for a moment that music had managed to transcend genre. Here the band, which now was made up of Hugh Hopper on bass and Elton Dean on keys (in addition to Wyatt and Ratledge), focuses on tunes culled primarily from the upcoming Third as well as their most recent album, Volume Two." On 180 gram vinyl.

Artist: 13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS
Title: Rockius Of Levitatum
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 901233LP
"To fully understand and appreciate a band like the 13th Floor Elevators, one had to see them play live, preferably more than once--the reason being that no two Elevators shows were ever alike, ranging from brilliantly euphoric to unbelievably catastrophic. Of course, the unevenness of their performances was due to one small but powerful thing called LSD, which the band took in copious amounts prior to each show (often charitably passing it out to members of the audience as well). For the Elevators this was a way of life, for which they (particularly lead singer and guitarist Roky Erickson) would notoriously soon pay. This collection of live tracks gives those of us who weren't there during those halcyon days of psychedelia, a taste of just what lofty heights (and hellish depths) the Elevators were capable of reaching. The performances are taken from three sources: 'Roller Coaster,' 'You're Gonna Miss Me' and 'Tried to Hide' from a rockin' appearance on a local Dallas/Ft. Worth television show in the spring of 1966, 'Don't Fall Down', 'Kingdom Of Heaven,' 'She Lives In A Time of Her Own' and 'I've Got Levitation' from a notoriously shambolic gig in Houston in 1967, and the remaining eight tracks from a series of stellar performances at San Francisco's Avalon Ballroom in autumn of 1966." On 180 gram vinyl.

Title: Live At Het Turfschip, Netherlands, 31 January 1970
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VL 901240LP
"Recorded live in Breda, Netherlands in January of 1970, this double LP represents the only existing recording of a very rare and short-lived quintet version of the band. Sax/flute player Lyn Dobson was the fifth member here, left over from the band's days as a septet. Just three months later Dobson would move on, leaving the classic Ratledge-Dean-Hopper-Wyatt line-up in place. Dobson's contributions to a 22-minute long version of Hopper's 'Facelift' as well as 'Backwards' are of particular interest here, as is a tentative version of 'Out-Bloody-Rageous', which was still a work in progress at this stage. Includes liner notes by band member Brian Hopper."

Title: Pennsylvania
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP + 7"
Price: $31.00
Catalog #: VL 901257LP
"Originally released in 1998 in the UK, Pennsylvania was voted it #1 in that year's Village Voice's music critics poll by Greil Marcus, along with being voted one of Billboard's and The Wire's Best Albums Of The Year. Here, David Thomas and original guitarist Tom Herman, reunite for the first time in over 20 years to go frolicking once again in that place known as the great American Wasteland, and not only do they find that it is alive and well, but that it has metastasized. When asked to comment on the album, David Thomas said, 'It's the latest. It's the greatest. It's now! It's pop! It'll sell a million'. Includes a bonus 7" featuring: 'My Name Is?' (with Jim Jones on organ and drum machine and David Thomas playing the vocals from a Mac). and 'Fly's Eye (alt. mix)'."

Artist: CIPOLLINA, JOHN
Title: Raven
Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VL 901264LP
"By 1969 (with the release of their landmark Happy Trails LP) John Cipollina's Quicksilver Messenger Service was one of the most popular acid rock bands in the nation and Cipollina himself had risen to 'guitar-god' status thanks in part to his towering one-of-a-kind amp stack and dual pick-up guitars (now on display at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame). In fact, in 2003 he was ranked #32 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of greatest guitar players of all time. By 1976, Cipollina was heading up a new band called Raven featuring a 10-player all-star line-up that included the likes of Greg Douglass (Steve Miller Band), Jim McPherson (Copperhead), Dave Walker (Fleetwood Mac), and Nicky Hopkins (The Rolling Stones). The songs were a mix of originals and well-selected covers and just as they were on the verge of becoming the next big thing the band broke up (but thankfully not before heading into a studio to record an album's worth of material). Some of these recordings eventually surfaced on a German label in 1980, but for the most part remained a little-known chapter in Cipollina's discography. Vinyl Lovers now is proud to bring you an entirely re-mastered and expanded version with 7 new tracks (sides C and D) not found on the original vinyl!"

Recorded in 1968-69, side A features the only known recording of the band's original line-up (John Dawson, David Nelson, Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh and Mickey Hart), plus two even earlier pre-NRPS tracks, while Side B represents Dawson's resurrection of the band in 1989 with an entirely new line-up."

Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $23.00
Catalog #: VL 901288LP
"Love Will Tear Us Apart should have been the band's most shining moment, instead it became their tragic swan song. Released just a month after frontman Ian Curtis' heart wrenching suicide, the song came to be seen as the unheeded warning of the impending tragedy. This special edition LP features all three versions of the song that transformed Joy Division from mere band into legend. In addition to the original single version, we have two versions remixed by American producers Don Gehman of John Mellencamp fame (the 'radio version') and Arthur Baker (who also produced a hit single for Africa Bambaataa around this same time). The remaining tracks include 'These Days' (which appeared on the original 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' single), along with 'Transmission' (their debut single released in 1979) and 'Atmosphere' (originally released as a France-only single) in 1980. This special edition features clear vinyl in a (printed) PVC sleeve."

Label: VINYL LOVERS (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: VL 990045LP
140 gram LP on clear purple vinyl. "While 1967's The Velvet Underground & Nico was a part of Andy Warhol's global artistic vision, 1968's White Light/White Heat was free of all Warholian influence, so in a way it could be thought of as another debut album.

Although Warhol, who was listed as producer on the album, allegedly gave the Velvets free reign over their sound, it was on his insistence that Nico performed on this album. However, this does not detract from the fact that when this album was made the Red Sea parted, and the Velvet Underground crossed into the Promised Land."

Although it was criticized at the time for being a somewhat disjointed album, because it was divided into one LP of new studio material and one LP of live material. However, it has nonetheless gone down in the annals of history because the song 'White Room' remains one of the 'Great Moments' in rock & roll. It was subsequently released as 2 separate albums: live and studio and we have brought to you these separate versions, both on white vinyl."
