Mikkel Metal was the first artist on Echocord and the main reason for the label's inception. After many releases, he returns to Echocord in 2016 with his first full-length album since 2008's Peaks and Troughs (ECHO 004CD). Bypassing dub-techno as the starting point, this is music clearly consistent with his earlier output. Its ten tracks evolve around a melancholic melodic framework, and while there is clearly a nod to Detroit and another to dub-techno, the overall impression is consistently and unmistakably of Mikkel Metal himself. A hypnotic, very enjoyable, and thorough return from the Danish artist.
