2016 repress. Decades after his sole album, the 1977 soul-jazz cult-classic Rhythm of Life, James Mason has rediscovered previously unreleased recordings from the same late-'70s period, which see the light of day in 2015 as the Recollection Echo album. This 12" contains two tracks from the album: "The Dance of Life" (featuring Bernard Purdie on drums and Fonda Rae on backing vocals) and "Up Jump." "Following a sense of disbelief that I could have ever forgotten about this music, for me the first echo was recollection, a flood of memories. I had poured all of the passion I could muster into this music." --James Mason
