Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: NUMLTD 006EP
"There is no need to introduce Alex Attias, is there? Throughout the late 80s and early 90s, he established himself as one of Switzerland's top DJs, running his own successful weekly nights, being booked to play all over Europe, and in return, booking top international DJs to play in Switzerland. Alex was also a long-time collaborator for the magazine Vibrations, writing reviews and compiling their series of albums. Recently back in Switzerland, Alex is currently working on his next album, Mustang, as well as some new tunes for his label Visions Inc. Alex Attias at Num Records might be a surprise to you but sure not for us. The internationally-known Swiss talent comes here with some of his unveiled deep techno productions. The kind of pearls Alex is silently hiding, ha ha. Not for long anymore... tight beats, huge deep basslines, stunning house heads, syncopated rhythmic structures accompanying the Attias way of pushing you on the floor. Well done for sure, this EP is full of surprises, percussive works, modern house and techno shaking hands for your own good."

Title: Analysis
Label: PLANET E COMMUNICATIONS
Format: 12"
Price: $8.00
Catalog #: PE 65293EP
"Attias is the project of brothers Alex and Stephane Attias. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland (also home to Planet E signings Lazy Fat People), the duo have been DJing all over the world and making records and remixes for many years on a diverse list of labels ranging from Compost to Talkin' Loud and their own Visions and Freedom Soundz imprints. Their local music scene is one of the most vibrant in Europe for electronic music and the duo are close with artists like Mirko, Ripperton, Quenum and many others in the Geneva/Lausanne axis -- no surprise then that you can say the duo have much in common with the Swiss minimalism of LFP and Luciano. But it is their love and deep appreciation and understanding for Detroit techno that has brought them to the attention of Carl Craig and given them a home on Planet E. Their love is re-enacted here in the appropriately titled 'Analysis' single. The title also re-enacts both the duo's approach to techno and their own personal searches in life. Like much of the best in electronic music, there is a progressive, searching pulse in the music here. This is a new 2007 look at what techno can be. Fresh and alluring, it is sure to bring the brothers a new wave of attention and respect."
