Title: Prism
Label: AUDIOMATIQUE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: AM 008EP
"Prism includes two excellent tracks, mainly produced with the famous 'Machinedrum' and all brought into being by Robert as well as a fantastic Robag Wruhme (Wighnomy Brothers) remix. 'Prism' is an ode to acid, of course, but also to the psychedelic element Robert misses in current club music. Go with spiraling vox-snippets and the twinging acid bleeps and you will experience some unexpected twitches and flashes on the dancefloor. This trippy monster track is directly followed by 'Rock' on A2, which can be described as 'steamrolling minimal rock.' This one slowly but surely takes control of your heart rate, you exhale steam and the journey begins. Massive. The B-side features a stunning rework of 'Prism,' coming right from the Musik Krause HQ. Remember Robag Wruhme's great remix of Martini Bros' 'Love The Machine' (pfr41). His editing on 'Prism' presents the unique style of our Wighnomy friends. Frisky arrangements and twinkle-toed sounds work like a charm. Solid."

Title: Markatech
Label: AUDIOMATIQUE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: AM 015EP
"It looks like Mr. Babicz, who hails from the Cologne region, is tuned in to the Audiomatique sound. 'Markatech' on the A-side is an absolute club monster, whilst 'Sleeping Beauty' comes along with a more relaxed and dreamy vibe. On the one hand, claps, hi-hats and acid bleeps push things forward, rave signals paired with seriously dark basslines, plus some of those unmistakable ingredients designed to drag you onto the dancefloor and propel you all the way to hysteria. Mood-wise, the flip side couldn't be more of a contrast. The ingredients may be fairly similar, but the composition is different. As titles go, 'Sleeping Beauty' is a pretty accurate title, hinting at the un-clubby, relaxed and peaceful atmosphere."

Title: Pingpong In Moonlight
Label: AUDIOMATIQUE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: AM 025EP
This is Robert Babicz's fourth release on Audiomatique. The Cologne-based Pole is one of today's most prolific producers. On the A-side the title-track "Pingpong In Moonlight" comes with steel-sounds, sharp hi-hats and a deeply pushing bass line. Once the groove kicks in, a mystic melody gives the song its very own moonlight feeling. Strong track! "Hope" is also a forward-moving track, with pulsing synth growls and neat drum snaps. Dreamy, throbbing and trance-inducing.

Title: Dark Flower
Label: AUDIOMATIQUE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: AM 029EP
Robert Babicz presents his fifth Audiomatique release. "Dark Flower" is a shiny groover accompanied by a beautiful remix from Rotterdam-based techno veteran Joris Voorn. "Dark Flower" showcases a dry but funky groove construct with melancholic and deep synths. "Spiralboogie" slowly builds, having the funk in the trunk while fully focused on simple, reliable qualities. Joris Voorn's mix perfectly combines floating harmonies with a thrilling drive. Simply irresistible.

Title: My Blue Car
Label: BARBARELLA MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BARBA 001EP
"We are proud to present Robert Babicz and Martinez as our first release on Barbarella Music. Robert Babicz takes us into a spheric drivin journey with his 'My Blue Car.' After he starts the engine he's driving up with smooth minimal & spheric sounding beats. During the hypnotic drive the energetic sounds build up in the backdrop and blow up and arouse fanaticism. Martinez let us flow in a deep and minimal state of mind. The engine working with dark pumping sounds and going constant till it's coming to improve the efficiency in fuller speed. This is of course a release package to match in all the DJ's cases."

Title: Stars Rmxs by Avus & Perc
Label: BARBARELLA MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: BARBA 003EP
"Barbarella is proud to announce these new mixes of 'Star' by Rob Acid. The track is taken from Rob's Star EP on Censored Records and now it appears on the hot new Barbarella label. The new remixes come from two of the top producers of the UK underground scene who both deliver very different interpretations of Rob's original track. On the info sides is Scott Edwards aka Avus, in the past he has recorded for Border Community. Klang Elektronik and Perc Trax. His mix is a classic slice of modern minimalism, dubbing out the track with his trademark glitchy effects. Turn it over and Perc Trax label owner Ali Wells aka Perc, gives us a deep, bassline-driven remix pushed along by a warped drum track. Recent fans of Perc's music include Michael Meyer, James Holden, Slam and Laurent Garnier."

Title: Boarding EP
Label: DEFRAG SOUND PROCESSING (ITALY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: DFRG 026EP
"Our next Defrag release is a gem. Robert Babicz collaborates with Defrag for the first time, after a heavy output on labels such as Audiomatique, Punkt, Treibstoff and K2 in the last few years. Based in Cologne, Robert's take on acid for the 21st century is laden with influences he has picked up in a near 20 year career that has seen him influence a good few artists and styles to boot. Opener 'Boarding' kicks off the weekend with a bright and effervescent journey of soaring synth and crunchy beats. Ethereal interplay between lead melodic lines contribute to an uplifting and complex house gem. Old and new find a special compromise on 'Enjoy,' which merges a Detroit influence with modern percussive bliss. A rasping metallic lead pierces a groove built on throbbing chord patterns and echoed pads. Ending on a 'Montag ,' Robert introduces a dub element to the fray. A slow building melody weaves between glitches and sharp tones in a suspenseful and atmospheric mind treat."

Title: Mister Head
Label: K2 (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: K2 003EP
Another awesome release on this Kompakt subsidiary label (that is, just maybe, better than Kompakt!). "The artist formerly known as Rob Acid with an incredibly catchy double A-side release. Oh Euphoria!"

Title: Don't Look Back
Label: K2 (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: K2 031EP
"Robert Babicz is a remarkable person. His discography is approximately as long as the Mississippi between Meeman Shaelby State Park and Memphis City. Where as others start repeating themselves or just lose it completely Robert Babicz continuously manages to excite and surprise us. Cheers to that! With his second coming on K2 after 'Mr Head' he reconnnects to the housier path he started there 2 years ago. In comparison to the musculous, techy works for Systematic Babicz is aiming for a more discoish, warm and groovy approach. Both tracks are perfect springtime tracks, so just tuck this 12" away for a moment. This winter is almost done with!"

Title: Procast/Buffer Expander
Label: SESSION DELUXE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: SDLX 022EP
"The godfather of HIFI tech house is back with his debut release on Martin Eyerer's Session Deluxe imprint. After several impressive releases on imprints like Audiomatique, K2 and his album on Systematic, he delivers us 'Procast' and 'Buffer expander,' two fine pieces of electronic sounds. If you like 'Dark flower' and 'Sin' you will love these ones for sure too!"

Title: A Cheerful Temper
Label: SYSTEMATIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: SYST 006CD
A Cheerful Temper is Cologne-based producer Robert Babicz's debut album for Systematic Recordings. Answering the question why he chose this specific name, Babicz explains that he feels caught between two worlds: "The real world of everyday life and a surreal dream world comparable to the backdrop of a fairy tale." Those who have been following Robert's career over the years, know that his sound and the standard of his productions reach almost audiophile standards. No surprise then that many well-known artists such as Martinez, Minilogue and Gabriel Ananda request his special abilities for mastering their productions. One reason for his famous sound stems in part from his collection of old analog equipment from the '60s and '70s, which Robert uses alongside his computer. Besides drum machines like the famous Roland TR808 and TR909, Robert owns a variety of unique machines, like special effects and EQs the size of living rooms, some taken from German TV stations to edit their movies and crime shows. He even uses equalizers used by the secret service and compressors used by East German radio stations -- it is no wonder that the sound quality of the album is both graceful and crystal-clear. Tracks such as "Sin" and "Losing Memories" surprise with their club-compatible deepness, while at the same time moving between the genres of electronica, techno and classic house. A Cheerful Temper is indeed a very special genre-breaking album full of beautiful electronic club music.

Title: Immortal Changes
Label: SYSTEMATIC (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: SYST 011CD
This is the second album by Cologne-based Robert Babicz for the Systematic label. Following on from A Cheerful Temper (SYST 006CD), released in 2007, Immortal Changes shows a warmer side to Babicz's production skills. Bringing in warm melodies, deep and deeper grooves, blissed atmospheres, live strings, live sax, analog bass -- sometimes jacking, but mostly tripping; his journey takes you wherever you choose to let your mind go. Babicz: "My idea behind the album was that I wanted a representation of my inner feelings, things that happened last year, and overall a very personal view on electronic music. Through all the traveling around the world as a live act, I met great people, I saw so many fantastic places, and so on. So my music reflects that a lot: I am building rooms, and sometimes galaxies, where your mind can go and look around, sit down, listen and enjoy. Also, I asked some friends to play some real instruments on my album, as I wanted an even more handmade and soulful sound. On most of the tracks there are real atmospheric recordings, which I recorded on my travels." The tracks on Immortal Changes are airy and melodic, infused with bounce and life, as well as solid beats, field recordings, and organic instrumentation that make this a highly-approachable, worldly dance album.

Title: Sin
Label: SYSTEMATIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: SYST 033EP
Cologne-based electronic music guru Robert Babicz will release the A Cheerful Temper CD album -- a very personal and emotional journey through the outskirts of techno music. "Sin" is the first single taken from this masterpiece, and it is a very atmospheric track with incredible SFX and hymn-like rave signals on top of a killer beat. The flipside belongs to Gui Boratto -- who places the original into a more classy rhythmic corset of grooving drums and basses -- without losing any rave attitude.

Title: Immortal Changes - The Vinyl Edition Part Two
Label: SYSTEMATIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: SYST 068EP
This is the second remix 12" for Robert Babicz's Immortal Changes (SYST 011CD). Maetrik stays true to the original of "Chordy," adding a little grit and heft to the bass line. Gorge matches the growling bass line and smooth-as-silk synths to fantastic effect. Remixing "Come Closer" is the always in form, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, who turn in a twisted, downtempo remix

Title: Crystal Castle/Neoreplicator/Liquid Titan
Label: SYSTEMATIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00

A Cheerful Temper, the name of Robert Babicz's debut album for Systematic Recordings is arguably the best way to describe the Cologne-based Pole. This is the first volume in a three-volume series of 12"s based around his debut album. Answering the question why he chose this specific name, Babicz explains that he feels caught between two worlds: "The real world of everyday life and a surreal dream world comparable to the backdrop of a fairy tale."

Title: Purple Dance
Label: TREIBSTOFF (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: TREIB 082EP
"Experience defines art, and quite honestly, Robert Babicz could also just sweat into the mic, and he would still produce a smash. That's because he's the man with a trademark sound that nobody can copycat. His sound is truly unique, as clean as it is dirty, with an ever-present fatness ruling the soundscape. His new masterpiece Purple Dance for Treibstoff is no different, presenting itself as an explicitly throbbing affair, garnished with a scent of melancholy and inducing rampant dance all over the place. These are four tracks made for the eternity residing in that one moment when the beat goes spinal and wows the serotonin budget. Clearly a home-run for Treibstoff, as Babicz takes over."

Title: Afterhourbasar
Label: WIR (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: WIR 015EP
"It's quite simple: nobody sounds like him. Robert Babicz, emperor of a thousand rare devices, knows exactly the way a sound has to travel to gain true grandeur. He has studied every single step in the process and has thus become a master of mastering while still being the pioneer of techno everybody knows. Apparently it's his second nature to build genuine rockets for the floor and to connect driving dryness to feastful romanticism constantly anew. Nevertheless it's WIR the wanderer between labels has brewed an especially substantial soup for: two tracks which have been tested to satisfaction in live sessions around the globe during the last months, loved by the girls, envied by the boys, two dense character studies of epic scale where every small detail morphs into a very hookline, relaxed and ambitious at the same time. Yep, this guy could even produce a soundtrack to a speck of dust and still everybody would think it's Star Wars."
