London-based Baxendale's "I Built This City" simply crushes out of the speakers like an electro-funk nail bomb, building up through irresistible choruses of Biblical proportions and falsetto hooks. It is essentially the ultimate dancefloor and radio hit. And did I mention the lyrics? "I scattered paving stones/the first time you took me home/I made a street on that first love feeling/I built the airport the following evening..." With Justus Köhncke and Michael Mayer, the perfect remix task force was quickly found. While Mayer takes the original to an utterly devastating underground hit, Köhncke pours all his hedonism into his mix. The outcome is an awesome piece of future disco. Incredibly hot.

"Oh I remember back in '99... there was something about those sweaty clubs where London 3 piece Baxendale kicked the arse out of electronic clubpop that was desperately vibrant and frighteningly naïve, very end of a century.
