A collection of previously-unreleased outtakes of versions from B-sides to 7" and 12" releases on the Pantomime, South East and Dwyer labels -- labels on which singer, musician and record producer Glen Brown put out some of his most highly-acclaimed work -- by artists such as Sylford Walker and Big Youth. Glen Brown carved out a place for himself with his unique style, putting him up there alongside the likes of Lee Perry, Dub Organizer and Augustus Pablo. The works featured on this CD are also among some of the first on which King Tubby was credited as an artist. A lowly studio engineer at the time, King Tubby was already beginning to go beyond just experimenting with the tape effects and spring reverb of the day, by trying every means possible to create what would become his own distinctive sound. The sessions reproduced on this remastered CD represent a joyous and significant discovery of "lost" music, which sees the likes of King Tubby and Family Man come together in a creative collaboration with this singularly-talented producer, who originally started his career as a jazz singer.
