Bukaddor & Fishbeck has had a big impact on German dancefloors and on Richie Hawtin's set at huge festivals. Nachtexpress starts off in an "off beat" mode, but has more of a hypnotic and understated character. "Long Distance Call" is a lot more relaxed -- almost mystical, seemingly non-directional at first, working its way into a post-Detroit track with nice strings coming along after some minutes, like a magnet in slow motion.

Bukaddor & Fishbeck's third EP on MBF, Supaglass, is the follow-up release to Polterabend/Less. After their excursion into deeper rhythmical grooves with their second 12" Nachtexpress, they managed to add another facet to their production style. "Supaglass" rocks the floors with its forward-going movement and speed. The flip-side track, "Campus" is tremendously strong, with a monster bassline, great breaks and wonderful timing. Peak-time quality.

Bukaddor & Fishbeck's fourth EP on MBF is definitely the most stripped-down percussive record they have done so far. The beat phreak track "Live Is Life" is a bass-heavy hands-in-the-air monster. "Mr. Floppy" is much bolder and softer, but very percussive and funky with cool breaks and dynamic shifts which are all very well thought out. Real DJ weapons.

This is the 5th release by Bukaddor & Fishbeck on MBF and the Cologne-Düsseldorf duo show that there is more to them than meets the eye. "Tandem" could be characterized as a post-Chicago tune with a Germanic twist. With unconventional changes in dynamic and rocking synth sounds, this is a peak-time, off-beat monster. "Monofolder" is understated and bassy, with a cool, slick, minimal groove, lots of percussive elements, and ghostly, late-night chords.

Bukaddor & Fishbeck pay tribute to the funky side of disco using modern techniques on Bonusmeilen. The title track bursts with energy right from the beginning, skillfully including lots of small sounds and mini-breaks cutting into the rhythm, creating an unbelievable tension. A trumpet makes its way into the track and tears it apart. "Riffpunk" has destroyed dancefloors during the duo's live sets with its slapping, emotional chords and funky guitars. Similarities with Daft Punk are purely coincidental.

"Smile" is one of the strongest tracks Bukaddor & Fishbeck have ever produced. The track's pop influence gives their dry and fat beat structure a slightly different cross-over feeling. "Hausnummer" in comparison plays with the vocal elements of old school house in a way that one would not expect Bukaddor & Fishbeck to use -- a nice blend of minimal deep acid house all clad in a modern sound aesthetic.

Bukaddor & Fishbeck's Carat resembles a mood rather than a typical minimal production effort. It is also a smarter and less obvious production than the predecessor Sceada on Traum. The title track marks the DJ cut, whereas "Relic" on the flipside with its stronger house feel, captures a warmer and slightly more Krautrock spirit. Both tracks devote themselves to a collective spirit which will enchant the clubbers.
