"The Chicago-born pianist Burton Greene first made his way to NY in 1962, just as the New Music movement was beginning to gain momentum. The following year he and bassist Alan Silva formed the Free Form Improvisation Ensemble (considered to be the first spontaneous composition group). This historic live recording was originally released on ESP-Disk in 1967."
