Title: Kaleidoscope (aka Live At Topanga Corral)
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 137CD
"Formed in L.A. in 1965, Canned Heat were a blues/boogie rock band whose music was not only responsible for passing on the blues fever to the hippie generation, but also for bringing back into the public eye some of the great original bluesmen like John Lee Hooker, with whom they later played. Originally released as Live At Topanga Corral for contractual reasons, this album was actually recorded live at Los Angeles' famed Kaleidoscope club. This recording, made in 1969, features the original line-up with the great Bob Hite on vocals and Alan Wilson on guitar and is one of their best live recordings ever! The band definitely 'cooks'...just like Sterno cooking fuel... just like Canned Heat!"

Title: Vintage
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 139CD
"Canned Heat was formed in 1965 by Alan 'Blind Owl' Wilson (guitar/harmonica/vocals), and Bob 'The Bear' Hite (vocals). Before hitting the charts in 1968 with their version of Jim Oden's 'On The Road Again' (#20 in the USA, #10 in the UK), here is how they sounded in 1966 when R&B pioneer Johnny Otis produced their first recordings. A perfect match, considering that Wilson and Hite were avid record collectors and blues aficionados, choosing to stay close to the originals on their versions of classics like Muddy Waters' 'Got My Mojo Working,' Willie Dixon's 'Spoonful' and 'Pretty Thing,' John Lee Hooker's 'Louise' and 'Dimples,' and Elmore James' 'Rollin' and Tumblin'.' Features bonus track 'Going Up The Country.'"
