"Cheer-Accident (who, incidentally, took their name from a section of cards found in a Hallmark Store) were founded in the very beginning of 1981 and released their first album in 1988. Since that time, the band has added, subtracted and changed personnel not quite as often as you change your socks. Cheer-Accident have never been about 'having a sound' or 'having a career'. They have always been about challenging themselves and challenging their audiences with constant reinvention and change. They have released albums of dissonant 'out-rock' and albums of surprisingly straight-forward pop songs. Everything and anything is permissible. Fear Draws Misfortune is the band's 16th album. Using a core trio plus 15 auxiliary musicians and singers, they have created a strongly compelling and high-reaching album that uses a wide variety of ideas, styles and studio techniques, resulting in a cohesive and ambitious album of art-rock.
