. Now if you don't know, Jay is an L.A. resident, and part of the collective that includes Flying Lotus, Ras G, Gaslamp Killer, y'all know the names. Jay's best friend is a computer, surprisingly named Computer. Computer is a wise cracking collection of circuit boards, and enjoys spitting crazy verses over Jay's synth-heavy beats.
Maintain
is their first collaboration that has reached wax, and boy, you better brace yourselves! Ascending analog flourishes scattered over Jay's minimal beats, giving Computer room to do his thing. Jay's epic production packs more into 3-and-a-half minutes than most producers can cram into ten. True to form, we have drafted an unrivaled array of remixers in for the project. Ramp's best boy Falty DL is first up, and gives us an edgy and uncomfortable edit in his unique garage-not-garage style. Upstanding member of the community, and all round lovely chap Mike Slott, steps out of his comfort zone with some euphoric basslined hip hop badness.
