Artist: CURTISS, LEE
Title: Taint
Label: DUMB-UNIT (CANADA)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: DU 038EP
Lee Curtiss has been forging his uniquely backwoods, yet avant-garde and primal brand of deep and twisted dance music since the late 1990s. Growing up between the two poles of Chicago and Detroit organized Lee's approach to production squarely between the grooving, deep house sounds of artists like Derrick Carter, Ricardo Villalobos, Zip (aka Dimbiman), Matthew Dear and Richie Hawtin. Lee's "fuck trends, fuck dance music, and fuck me" approach to producing and performing only the strongest of stomachs and most iron-clad of minds can withstand.

Title: Smut
Label: DUMB-UNIT (CANADA)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: DU 043EP
Lee Curtiss, the man/beast from Detroit, is back. And what a mess he has made this time. The warm weather and the lure of lewd women in gold bikinis and white moustaches proved too much for this landlocked Michigan boy, and he gave in to temptation. Polished and pumping, a crooning ode to the heat of summer, Smut is a dirty treat for some hot, sticky nights. So pack it up and take it on the trip.

Title: Mein Tesh
Label: KALIMARI (CANADA)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: KLMR 001EP
"Like tentacles slowly creeping up and taking everyone by surprise, Kalimari tightens its grip at your local club with the intention of sinking and holding everyone firmly in its dance floor den. When music slowly blurs from after hours to prime time grooves, our music proposes rich textures of slow, aquatic bleeps layered upon strong grooves which firmly hold everyone at attention. Our approach to dance music relies on bringing together obscure or yet unknown artists with currently established ones. Anything that charms the ear and brings with it deep underwater beats will be the general aesthetic of Kalimari. Based in Montreal, Jean-Patrice Rémillard (who produces under the alias of Pheek), already owns the recently established label Archipel. Founded as a sub-label, Kalimari will be the alternative side of Archipel where more experimental and slower beats will be released. Artists who will release on Kalimari include: Lee Curtis: Based in Detroit, this man has already toured in Europe even with only forthcoming releases. He expresses his talent in a very warped way, building spaced out beats which are constantly moving and changing."
