BOOG 013EP
"This time Boogizm is proud to present the extraordinary skills of Daniel Bemberger aka dB from Vienna, who has already established his reputation as one of the most original minimal producers around. In the past he has released several EPs on labels as Karloff, Substatic and Background, his work culminating in his superb album
Peron
on Background. His style has no comparison in contemporary dance music -- fragmented, jazzy, moody, yet groovy and functional, and most of all, unique! The EP starts with 'Tower Of Love,' guitar like sounds and Rhodes chords add up to an all embracing warmth manifested in a multi-layered structure telling a story of beauty in rhythm. 'Gods Will Phone Center' catches the listener somewhere else, a tip more to the darkside, yet another manifestation of dB's talent, creating an emotional intensity, the much stressed word 'deepness' does fit in here! The B-side features remixes by Dhammabrothers Boogizm-crew itself starting with S-Max interpretation of 'Gods Will Phone Center' and FYM reworking 'Tower Of Love.' Concentrating on refining the non-clichee dance music, penetrating into the realm of the unheard- tracks, that stand the test of time, actually being open to the experiment and yet being playable in clubs is primary target of Boogizm."

Price:

KARLOFF 006EP
"Always a good deed to be done: after the recent releases by lump, the architect and Jeff Samuel, who partly came up on Karloff with their deepest track ever, Vienna's Daniel Bemberger is now back to condense his minimal-mutant-funk even more than he already did on his previous EP
Petrzalka
. The hot spots are the small little details, which are not to be overlooked, but even at a first glance dB's tracks provide the blueprint for the most amazing out-of-body experiences. The head is meant to stay, but don't be surprised if it places these seductive, uncommon 4/4 electronica back on its feet, as a cramp in the calf is to be prevented. But dB always knows a way out of any absentminded situation, and no dead end can ever hold back his ever rolling hybrid groove. He sails around every sand bank and knows to avoid any kind of flat-titude. Jazz and house have never been this close, while never permitting just touch of pleasingness."

KARLOFF 016EP
"He's back on track: dB, the man far out who injected free jazz into techno. And here he goes another step beyond. Such candid jamming has rarely been heard before, but still the concentrated precision remains. Three unbelievable tracks, that will crack your skull and reboot the system, waiting for bold adventurers travelling into unknown territories. If Stanley Kubrick were alive today, he would already have found the soundtrack for his next masterpiece. This music proves that the head indeed is ball-shaped for letting the thoughts change their direction. Sounds that remind you of a damn good conversation, aside an extraordinary red wine. But that's one of the things friends are there for, right?"

Label:
SUB STATIC (GERMANY)
Format:
12"
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
SUS 015EP
"The first release of the Daniel Bemberger from Vienna, usually he spends the dear long day on fragmenting samples from the most uncommon origins, in order to finally rearrange them to a housy groove afterwards. Despite all this joy of experimentation, Daniel Bemberger manages to include a big portion of musicality to his tracks. Scratchy sounds and synthetic clicks are joined by noisy jazz fragments, easy chords, and in the track 'Boulevard' even some kind of 2-bitsaxophone!
