The Deep were a Philadelphia-based studio-only band whose one and only album, Psychedelic Moods was released to critical acclaim in 1966. Recorded in a darkened Philadelphia studio one night, this pioneering album was the first album ever to have the word "psychedelic" in its title and is well-established as an acid classic. Invented and produced by Mark Barkan and Rusty Evans and the legendary David Bromberg, whose playing credits include just about everybody from Bob Dylan to Jerry Jeff Walker, Psychedelic Moods is hailed as the very first album with a consistent psychedelic theme running throughout.
