Title: The Climate Flu EP
Label: DISAPPEAR HERE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: DH 002EP
"Tom & Duckett live in North Wales in the UK. They have been producing their blend of deep techno from an early age and although Tom is only 23 years old, it's immediately apparent where their musical mindset is. They are great advocates of live analog music and you can hear a wealth of knowledge, both musically and production-wise in these tracks. We have heard Tom play live many times and for us these three tracks are true highlights from his show. The title track 'Climate Flu' especially for us encompasses pretty much everything we search for. Beautiful melodic structure that stays with you, wrapped around subtle swung percussion and contra melody that although deep, still maintains enough intensity to hold a dancefloor. Perfect club music in our eyes. The two tracks on the flip 'Gathering Wisdom' & 'Whole Night Long' still maintain a beautiful thought provoking quality. Although slightly more groove-based they provide captivating listening with beautiful hushed vocals and tricky shuffled grooves that these guys have always been renowned for. All in all, this EP manages to evoke Tom & Duckett's unrelenting desire to convey emotive narrative through sound which these days can sometimes be lost through imitation rather than innovation."

Title: Unnecessary Cosmetics EP
Label: STHLMAUDIO RECORDINGS (SWITZERLAND)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: SA 008EP
"Tom Demac + Duckett from Wales in the UK worked hard at providing us incredibly deep and swinging groovy materials. Best known for their release on Electronic Audio, the Tom Demac owned imprint, the duo present here some darker tinted then usual materials. Swing and shuffle is a defacto ingredient in Tom & Duckett's dance alchemy and we just ask for more! A1: 'Unnecessary Cosmetics,' rattling and shakin as it should, this deep tech house monster appeals to straight dancing for sure. Tiny details, percussive shots that definitely have this human touch and finally that freaky clubby bassline that hits your head for good...Brilliant! B1: 'Sumtimes,' weird pads, shuffled to heaven percussion sounds straight out of Mars, rattling n' shakin minimalism...subtly added arrangements, very clever dosage of darkness dancefloor action. 'Sumtimes' is contemporary modern minimalism. B2: '24th Avenue,' a darker deep minimal exploration here, full of underground sound actions and experiments. Again, a deep minimal track full of what we're after, groove and experimentation!"
