Title: Liquid Staircase
Label: ELECTRONIQUE AUDIO (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: EAUDIO 003EP
"Tom Demac takes us down the deep/minimal route again with the latest release on Electronique Audio. The Liquid Staircase EP, definitely has an over all aim at the dance floor over the last output from the label. Although, there are some bits that are equally enjoyable for the home listener. The A track 'Liquid Staircase' opens up the EP and as soon as the needle hits the record you know where it's heading. A throbbing bass line that is sure to attract some whistles from the dance floor, together with glitchy percussion, cutting hi-hats, and a twisted vocal line over the top. 'Sunday Lunch' represents the house elements of Tom Demac's material, with 'Domestic Dimming' and 'End Of...' keeping the deep, melodic aspect to his production on Electronique Audio."

Title: The More Things Change EP
Label: HYPERCOLOUR (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: HYPE 007EP
"Welcome to the latest episode in Hypercolour's future house and techno voyage, this time featuring the combined talents of two of the most exciting young producers around. Tom Demac has been quietly releasing his highly acclaimed brand of reduced, sophisticated micro-techno and experimental house for the last few years on labels including Steevio's Mindtours and his own Electronique Audio. A key member of Wales' Freerotation collective, he's an integral part of a vibrant local scene that includes acclaimed producers such as Leif, Tom Ellis, Duckett and Steevio. On The More Things Change, Tom neatly showcases his impressive skill for deep, sensual tones and refined, subtle grooves. The track builds on a gently undulating drum patter, flanked by a mournful bass line, sighing strings, and flickers of Lawrence-esque plucked melody, forging a track that's both deeply emotive and coolly detached. Over time, the arrangement swells into more dramatic proportions, making it ideal for clued-up dancefloors and introspective home/headphone pleasure alike. Remix action comes courtesy of Switzerland's Agnés, this time working without his regular partner Chaton. His sterling work on much lauded imprints like Plak, Minibar and SthlmAudio have slipped into the boxes of many a discerning DJ, notably those of Chilean demi-gods Villalobos and Luciano. Here, he adds his trademark lightness of touch to Tom's original, giving those mournful strings a little more space to breathe as they overlap a plaintive, laid back groove. Agnés also contributes a digital only 'Wales Beatdown' mix, taking the track into starker, minimal territories that are aimed squarely at the foggy hours of late night/early morning."

Title: Swimming In My Mind EP
Label: HYPERCOLOUR (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: HYPE 019EP
Tom Demac presents an EP of depth, girth and weighty cuts for Hypercolour. "Swimming In My Mind" boasts swirling synths, punchy toms and church organ bass, collectively structured to create a future house cut of the finest pedigree. The mixes come firstly from Tom himself, who turns in a non-4/4 bass-heavy workout. Dave Aju matches Tom's original with his own forward-thinking take on electronic music -- shuffle house vibes with bass bubbles throughout, underpinned by an off-kilter sub bass.

Title: Stand Beside Me EP
Label: MURMUR (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: MUR 005EP
"Gathering inspiration from the surrounding landscape, a big dose of Detroit techno, as well as influxes of electronica, dub and jazz, Tom Demac writes and records live electronic music from the soul. He has developed his own characteristic sound based on a philosophy of creating music aimed at the dancefloor. The Stand Beside Me EP lives up to this reputation, throwing Demac further into the spotlight and weaving across his distinguished sound. Daring and disjointed yet invitingly groovy, the title track 'Stand Beside Me' has hints of electronica through to new-age disco and a warped vocal that shows the product of Demac's own voice. 'Three By Four' shows more unruly workings, its throbbing heart of a bass line and simple melody shakes up the senses, a sharp nod to the early Detroit sound. To those who know him, Glimpse is one of the UK's best and most underrated producers. Carl Craig's Planet E, Leftroom, and now Murmur all agree and have offered a platform for his recent releases. His remix of 'Stand Beside Me' switches the flavor, pinning down the house elements and giving an old school kick. As the founder of Murmur, Geddes has held off for this pinnacle package to offer his debut on remix duties. Maintaining the menacing undertone, his working smoothes the edges and enhances the groove, depicting his trademark deep and pensive style."

Title: Prima Donna
Label: MURMUR (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: MUR 008EP
"Tom Demac returns for his second release on murmur with the delicious Prima Donna EP, complete with a remix from Seuil. Murmur are proud to be unleashing Prima Donna from Tom Demac. One of our favorite new young producers has produced an EP with hints of nostalgia, harking back to an innocent age of electronic music, while also giving an insight into a sound of our future. Welsh-born Tom Demac has been picked up by a string of labels for his outstanding productions skills in the past year. His ability to fuse a variety of styles and influences into an original and admired sound has gathered a great deal of attention. 'Prima Donna' has been remixed by another fresh and newly discovered talent, Seuil. Famed for the groove in his music, Seuil unites the dark rolling flourishes into a modern shaking house sound. His heavy bass and obscure sounds produce a great rework of the track. Seuil broke into the electronic world and emerged as a figure to impress in 2006. Growing up on Reunion Island, a tropical French-colonized resort, he relocated to Paris 7 years ago to explore his interest in the electronic sound. Classically trained at piano, jazz and blues formation, and percussion he is able to build a complex sound structure to his compositions. Approaching a year of releases, the murmur label has built a discerning reputation and sealed a place as new favorites."

Title: Crewcuts & Curls Remixes
Label: MURMUR (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: MUR 017EP
"murmur reaches two years of releases with a special remix package from one of their biggest talents, Tom Demac, taking one of the label's strongest releases for a rework from Jamie Jones, Wolf + Lamb and Luke Solomon. You would have to be trying hard to avoid the attention Wolf + Lamb have been receiving over the past year. Their original brand of house music has developed into a global cult and their rework of Demac's 'In Your Eyes' is another example of their unique ability to create something unique and highly appealing across the board. Reverberating with the enticing sounds of the original it creates an almost psychedelic mood through soaring vocals, weightless beats and hypnotic loops. Jamie Jones continues his climb to the top of the underground ladder through a continued bombardment of popular material, both solo and as part of Hot Natured. He embosses his own brand of infectious funk into 'Crewcuts & Curls', led by the groove and snaking around energetically bouncing vocals. Luke Solomon seals the package with another inventive remix of 'Crewcuts & Curls', sparkling with a timeless spirit and using an imaginative range of skills in its production. Luke continues to deliver original material as part of the Freaks and putting output on his Classic label, founded together with house master, Derrick Carter. One of the most individual artists in the scene, Luke's wealth of experience produces an insightful and memorable style."
