Artist: DESTO
Title: Desto EP
Label: NOPPA (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: NOPPA 005EP
"Tes La Rok kicks off the year for his Noppa label with a versatile four track EP from up and coming producer Desto. 'Wizard Of Wor' discharges concentrated SID-chip energy and mutant rhythm syncopations with ruthless sub-bass and a side order of pixelated gangster vibes. 'Gremlinz' ventures into the realm of 8-bit monsters, fusing hiphop and grime aesthetics with chippy Commodore 64 bleeps and analogue synths for a definite dancefloor weapon. On the flipside, 'Dark Matter' creeps in with techy stabs, dubstep rhythmics and ice cold atmospheres. To top it off, the much-anticipated 'Cold (refix)' delves into the dark and atmospheric side of future garage before unleashing lush melodies from the frozen streets of Helsinki. DJ support from Jamie Vex'd, Blackdown, Joker, Oneman, Headhunter, Rossi B & Luca, Nick Argon and more."

Title: Disappearing Reappearing Ink/Broken Memory
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: RAMP 027EP
"Meet Desto. We found him wandering the streets of Helsinki, eating canned tuna and drinking the water from a tin of hot dogs, desperately clutching armfuls of sticky future garage. Starting off in spacey 2-step rhythms, falling over bassline, and breaking down into a euphoric 8-bit cascade, the epic 'Disappearing Reappearing Ink' finally reaches wax after being in the boxes of pretty much everybody all year. On the flip, 'Broken Memory' was given its first exclusive airing by Oneman on Radio 1 to much acclaim, and takes more of a straight up approach, and retains all of the fluid C64 chip-tune beauty. DJ support from Rob Da Bank, Oneman, Brackles, Sinden, Floating Points, Clouds, and Mary Anne Hobbs."

Title: No Sleep EP
Label: RWINA (NETHERLANDS)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RWINA 017EP
From the ice-cold landscapes of his secret lair in Finland, Desto returns to Rwina for another EP of forward-thinking dancefloor music. The producer's work on No Sleep picks up where he left off previously on Rwina: deep sub-pressure in the finest south London tradition blended with sounds and patterns that take their cues from across the spectrum of bass-influenced music such as grime's colorful melodies or the rhythmic playfulness and sonic claustrophobia of the likes of Lex Luger.
