"If Angela Desveaux could have three pictures in her wallet, she says they would be of Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams, and her grandmother. These are the figures she holds dear and suggest the influences that have shaped her musical identity.
Wandering Eyes
is a sparkling country debut that highlights both Desveaux's brilliant voice and her poignant song writing, inspired by those heroes with an alt.country twist. Band includes Mike Feuerstack (Wooden Stars, Kepler), Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire), Harris Newman (Strange Attractors), Mike Moya (GYBE), and Gen Heistek (Hangedup)."

"While on
Wandering Eyes
, Desveaux claimed the influence of great women of country music like Gillian Welch and Lucinda Williams, she now points to Chrissy Hynde, Wayne Coyne and Neil Young as sources of inspiration. These bolder rock influences are apparent on
The Mighty Ship
in her lead vocal choices and her guitar playing, as well as her arrangements. These influences compliment Angela Desveaux's strong sense of melody, her incredible voice and her abilities as a storyteller.
The Mighty Ship
is the follow-up release to 2006's
Wandering Eyes
and features Angela's road-tested band The Mighty Ship. Over the past two years, Angela has toured with Bruce Cockburn, Archer Prewitt, Howe Gelb, and Califone."

Two song release, with download code for three additional songs. "
If Ever I Loved
is a limited edition 7" release of new material from Montreal-born chanteuse Angela Desveaux. Three of the tracks on the release see Desveaux once again utilizing the drumming and fine production skills of Howard Bilerman, the former drummer with The Arcade Fire. Opener 'If Ever I Loved' is a beautiful lament on the familiar country theme of lost love. On 'Wedding Song,' Desveaux draws influence from her roots and the traditional Irish folk ballads that were a key part of her musical heritage when growing up in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The lullaby feel of the song hides a darker lyrical theme of marrying too young. Having seen a lot of young women getting married around her, Desveaux couldn't understand their confidence and ability to commit so young. She sees a certain sadness in a marriage not entirely based on love."
