Steve Wynn and co. combined the sonic experimentation of the Velvet Underground's White Light/White Heat period with the bold rock of Bob Dylan and Quicksilver Messenger Service while mixing the urgency and rawness of punk rock with groove-based songs and extended guitar solos.
