Originally released in 1969, this is the second album by Boston-based group Earth Opera, featuring former bluegrass player Peter Rowan (later a member of Seatrain as well as a solo artist) and mandolinist David Grisman. A sprawling psych-tinged, folk-rock classic featuring the 10+ minute title track, one of the greatest songs ever written about the fall of the American empire.
