"By the time ESG's debut LP, Come Away With ESG, was finally released in 1983, the Scroggins sisters had already released two EPs for 99 Records and a single for England's Factory Records--produced by Martin Hannett (Joy Division)--and had become influential members of NYC's downtown No Wave scene. Their track 'UFO' is one of the most sampled tracks in the history of hip-hop (Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Marley Marl) which lead them to record 'Sample Credits Don't Pay Our Bills' in the 1980s.
