"Well-known British group led by Dave Lambert, Fire's 45 'Father's Name is Dad' (Decca, 1967) is considered a classic of the freakbeat genre, having been included in innumerable compilations since the '80s. The band is also remembered for their sole full-length album, The Magic Shoemaker, a perfect example of the transition from psychedelia to progressive rock, in 1970. But before releasing this album, the band recorded a number of demos and acetates, ranging from freakbeat to psychedelic and early prog-rock. We've put together in this vinyl a collection of their 45s, demos & acetates (exactly like the mighty label Tenth Planet did in the mid-'90s), which you can now get before the 500 copies sell out."
