Price:

Catalog #:
DTP 018EP
Lille-based
Terence Fixmer
has been a key protagonist of electronic body music and modern techno in the style of
Front 242
,
Klinik
or
Nitzer Ebb
since the end of the '90s. "Passion" is EBM techno to absolute perfection, and those who want to know what
Skinny Puppy
could sound like in 2006 definitely can't go wrong with this energetic track. No less forceful, but more strongly stamped with the driving handclaps of early '90s Detroit techno, the flip-side track "Hold Me" presents two more soundtracks, of equal length, for this energetic state of emergency.

ELECTRIC DELUXE (GERMANY)
Format:

Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
EDLX 006EP
Terence Fixmer
returns to Electric Deluxe with two strong tracks. Unique to all Electric Deluxe releases are the tool versions, this time crafted by
Speedy J
and Terence Fixmer himself. "Electric City" is classic industrial techno combining the driving force of relentless beats and bass. "Echoes" features a marching industrial beat, piercing synth lines, and sweat-inducing rhythmic patterns.
Function
's remix is dark, slow and massive. It retains a hypnotic/head-fuck/paranoia vibe throughout while it swims in an ocean of white noise.

EDLX 010CD
Electric Deluxe is proud to announce the release of
Comedy Of Menace
by France's legendary
Terence Fixmer
, as the first artist album on the label since its launch in late 2008. This is Terence's fourth album. He has already released two solo albums on
DJ Hell
's Gigolo, the seminal
Muscle Machine
single-handedly spearheading a new style -- techno body music. This was a unique combination of modern techno and the EBM of the founding fathers from
Nitzer Ebb
(whom Terence still has the
Fixmer/McCarthy
project with) and
Front 242
. His third album,
Fiction Fiction
was released on Terence Fixmer's own imprint Planete Rouge in 2009 with a more deep ambience, almost cinematic, with palpable emotion and hypnotic rhythms. With releases on Music Man, Datapunk, and Novamute, he has helped to develop EBM since the early '90s. With
Comedy Of Menace
, Terence Fixmer creates a true techno album, with an instantly recognizable, pure sound, a deep and dark atmosphere throughout. The album is in many ways hypnotizing and mental, yet keeps the energy and effectiveness for the dancefloor.

Comedy Of Menace Pt. 2
is the second vinyl single from
Terence Fixmer
's
Comedy Of Menace
album, including reworks by
Niederflur
and
Brendon Moeller
. The vinyl includes the dubby and light original of "Phantoms" and the sensitive rework by Niederflur, who transforms it into a more driven techno track without losing the original's tender essence. The B-side presents the hypnotic "Breathless" and Brendon Moeller's remix of "Things Are Over," which will shift your dub-reality from head to toe.

Le Terrible
Label:
ELECTRIC DELUXE (GERMANY)
Format:
12"
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
EDLX 017EP
Terence Fixmer
's EP
Le Terrible
will cause some serious damage. It kicks off with "Le Terrible," a powerful monster of a techno track which pumps up your adrenaline with its pounding bass drum and hypnotic build-ups. "Concept C" features more experimental elements such as drone sounds and his ragged and slightly distorted signature bass.
Marcel Dettmann
's remix of "Dance Like Paranoid" wins you over with its carefully-arranged melody and drum pattern which creates a melancholic and timeless rave anthem.

Format:

Price:
$11.00
Catalog #:
GIGOLO 189EP
"
Silence Control A
the 12" gathers 4 tracks of raw techno power. 'Inside One' sets the dark mood of the EP with its furious basslines and its raw drumline. In the second track called 'Far Away,' Terence managed to blend all his early musical influences and his passion for a rough and dirty techno sound. 'Running After Time' contrasts with the other tracks because of the high-pitched sounds Terence used, while keeping that dark energy present in the album. 'Raw Power' is like a shout to set ourselves free with the music, a state of mind common to all EBM and hard-techno lovers. This is the promised raw techno power and sounds like you are trapped in the belly of a gigantic monster-machine!"

"Terence Fixmer, born in Lille (north of France) in 1972, discovered the EBM (Electronic Body Music) when he was 15 and became a Nitzer Ebb-, Front 242-, Klinik-, A GrÜhm- and DAF- fan. At the beginning of the 90's he was a party freaker and his interest for the electronic sound increased with the apparition of the New-Beat and Techno in Belgium. At this time he started to buy records and 'flashed' on VortrexX from Final Eexposure to Plus Eight Records . In 1992, he decided to produce his own music and he started to throw parties called 'Cosmos' and 'Space' in a club called Pyramide. One and a half year later he released his first EP on the Belgium label Diki Rec. In 1993 he moved to Rotterdam for his studies and produced some other EPs for different labels, under different pseudonyms. In 1995, he worked with his old school mate Emmanuel Top. But all this was just the beginning: in 1998 Terence decided to start his own label Planete Rouge Records. The second release on it (after Gemini 9 EP) was the first one under his real name: Terence Fixmer: 'Electrostatic'. The 3 tracker (first released on Planete Rouge and them licensed to Gigolo Records) was played by the biggest DJ's world wide, such as Dave Clarke, Sven Vath, Jeff Mills, DJ Hell etc. 'Electrostatic' was voted among the biggest tune of the year 1999 by many magazines and DJ's. In the same year Terence remixed DJ Hell's 'This is for you' (Disko B) and released his 2nd EP on Gigolo: 'Electric Vision'. At the same time he presents his first live act with Sven Väth at Cocoon-Club in Frankfurt. Terence finally remixed Sven Väth's: 'Ein Waggon voller Geschichten' (Virgin), which was voted to the 10 best remixes of the year 2000 by different magazines. He managed to transmit in his live performances the particular energy he got in his EPs; a kind of full power EBM and Techno. In 2001 Terence moves to Berlin, released the Body Pressure EP on Gigolo, of course another floor burner. In September 2001 he will finally release his first full-length-album
Muscle Machine
, unique Fixmer-style, straight, high-energy, 7 dancefloor-tunes."

Aktion Mekanik
Label:
MUSIC MAN (BELGIUM)
Format:
CD
Price:
$12.50
Catalog #:
MM 021CD
"Featuring classic 'EBM' (electronic body music) and Nu-Beat tracks from Nitzer Ebb, The Normal, Fad Gadget, Front 242, Crash Course In Science, Skinny Puppy, DAF, Liaisons Dangereuses and a new exclusive track from compiler (and Gigolo) Terence Fixmer, Aktion Mekanik brings together long lost/forgotten classics from the 80's Belgian Nu-Beat scene, whilst highlighting their influence on modern electronic composition. With tracks such as The Normal's 'Warm Leatherette' being covered by Chicks On Speed or bootlegged by Richard X and DJ Hell covering No More's 'Suicide Commando' and making the second half of his recent 'Electronicbody-housemusic' mix CD a homage to old and new versions of 'EBM', 'Aktion Mekanik' is a timely reminder of how we used to play. One such current producer who certainly used to play is Planete Rouge man, Terence Fixmer who has been fusing EBM with modern techno ever since 'Electrostatic' launched his life as a Gigolo in the late 90s. Born in Lille, on the Northern borders of Belgium it was at the tender age of 15 that Fixmer fell headfirst into the burgeoning EBM scene just across the border, where himself and fellow friends at Ghent's Music Man label fanatically followed bands such as Front 242, Klinik, DAF and Nitzer Ebb and frequented Belgian clubs such as Boccaccio and Skyline. 'I made this compilation as a personal journey and to remember the well respected electronic artists which are in someway our modern techno forefathers,' states Fixmer. 'I made it just because this is the music of my heart and nothing to do with any 80s trend.'"

Mental Science EP
Label:
PLANETE ROUGE (FRANCE)
Format:
12"
Price:
$11.00
Catalog #:
PLR 7002EP
"After his last release on Datapunk rec, Terence continues his next step on his own label Planete Rouge for a 3 track record. 'Out Of My Head' -- sounds like a soundtrack written to support 'The Spleen' poem from Baudelaire. The track is mind-blowing, slow and drives you to some paranoid distressing state of mind. You'll feel the coldness sliding on your neck. 'Mental Science' -- based on the old school techno direction from the '90s, influenced by artists such as Blake Baxter, Joey Beltram and labels such as R&S. Terence brings here a dark atmosphere, like a storyboard for a suffocated breath movie, this track is slow and mental as the title describes it by itself. And to conclude the EP, 'Crash For Fun' -- this track starts with an introduction which brings lots of pressure to finally explode on a groovy and energetic acidline melody."

Format:

Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
PLR 8002EP
"Since his remix for Radio Slave's 'Grindhoude' on Rekids, Terence sees in 2008 his sound developing and pushing limits to other soundscapes. A new energy and direction emerge in his music in terms of atmospheres, grooves and darkness. Pure and true sounds with the warmness of machines to deliver a unique artistic 12". To announce the future release of his third album in February 2009, Terence brings through
Fiction One
, four brand new tracks with each a very special soul. Balanced between club and hypnotic mood ,
Fiction One
introduces his new sound design. Mental and deep frozen elements are the key points of this EP. 'Drive the Bass' is bringing a great groove with a sudden line for a perfect peak time. 'Flame' will surprise you by its deep atmosphere and will probably help you to land after the high tension created by 'Gravity 5'. 'Magnitude Zero' is a balance between all the tracks and perfectly closes the EP."
